Situated out of the middle of everything with the exception of the university parking lot, sits Zoom Zoom Espresso next to the car wash south of Lakeway Blvd. Great location, hardly, but the coffee is consistently done to perfection and the customer service is amongst the best in the area. A drive by window for ordering is offered for both those headed North or in a Southerly direction, but there is a comfy indoor dining area offering free wi-fi for those wishing to sit a spell and blog away. There’s a surprisingly full snack and breakfast menu offered whether you’re driving by or hanging out for awhile.Zoom Zoom is owned and operated by local coffee icon Shelly Ness, and the coffee stop offers everything her establishments have gained local favor for. Great product and friendly atmosphere with the service done right. It’s a regular stop for me, and when my dogs are in the car with me, they always insist in driving by for the dog biscuits that come with the coffee. They like Zoom Zoom a lot.

Black Coffee Lounge – Menu with Prices – 824 Elm St, Cincinnati

Customer service is on point. I hate the parking but it’s downtown so what do you expect. But… the chicken salad sandwich makes up for the parking. It’s $8 and comes with a bag of BBQ Grippos (chips). Have to buy the drink separately which is to be expected I mean it is a coffee shop. But I didn’t order coffee I purchased the vegan juice. It’s called Macho Green. It was sooo good! A good cold pressed juice is hard to find, but I found it. It’s also a local brand so I killed two birds with one stone buying local juice from a local store. There is a ode to hip hop in the artistry placed around the coffee shop (cough made by local Cincinnati artist as well). I must say this… for my black Yelpers… A BLACK OWNED COFFEE SHOP IN CINCINNATI IS HERE!!! It is finally here!! This coffee shop is for us… BY ONE OF US!! It’s ok white Yelpers you can go to, everyone is welcome at Black Coffee, but if you can’t be happy around our blackness then go to Starbucks. BECAUSE THIS IS A LOVING SPACE FOR ALL SHADES OF PEOPLE. They have small intimate events coming up that I can’t wait to check out. The music isn’t elevator music it is however hip hop, jazz, smooth tunes, neo soul, modern soul, r&b, and ya mamas Saturday morning clean up music. The cakes, pies, and cookies offered for sale is also (cough local black owned bakeries and chefs cough) good. I had sweet potato pound cake that made me wanna slap my mama! I can’t wait to go back for the vegan chocolate chip cookies. I’m super proud that this coffee shop is owned and operated by some young business man who is on his way to becoming a mogul. GO HERE!!! Because it’s a local man, building and collaborating with local people for a space for Cincinnati to begin to thrive as a modern growing metropolis. It’s not that stuffy uppity coffee shop that you can’t chew to loud. It’s a space to have meetings and chat and laugh and not get the police called on you for openly being black and chilling *side eyeing star.. nvmd* ITS JUST A SPACE TO BE WHO YOU ARE with your buzzcuts and chin piercings and red lace fronts.

Krispy Chicken – Menu with Prices – 2307 Franklin Ave, Waco

It doesn’t get much better than this. Being a big lover of fried chicken, I am very particular about where I spend my calories. This is the real deal. It is owned and operated by a local family and they cook fresh fried chicken the way it’s supposed to be. This is the sort of find you hope for. We go out of our way to stop here when we are near Waco. There is only a little bit of outdoor seating, and they are closed Saturday and Sunday. If you like fried chicken, don’t miss this.

Mystify Vapor – Menu with Prices – 11246 W Hillsborough Ave, Tampa

Mystify Vapor Is a great little shop. Get vape juice and coffee All in one stop. Their coffee is awesome Way better than Starbucks. There’s a loyalty rewards program. And that does not suck. They’ve got all the accessories That one would need for vaping. And it’s a chill little spot If you’re in need of escaping. There’s art from local artists Hanging up on the walls. I even painted a few! Come look w/ your eyeballs! The owner, Jamal, is friendly. Just as nice as can be. Find out for yourself, Don’t just take it from me! I’ll definitely be back Since I work right next door. When I’m running low on coffee, I’ll come get some more!

If you’re on the Eastside and want to find boards and gear that you can’t find everywhere else, come check out Beantooth. So much rad stuff great prices It’s the only place Street plant and Embassy is sold. That’s pretty cool. You can find local companies like Houston skateboards as well as the big teams. Skater owned and operated. That’s real.

Blue Bottle Coffee – Menu with Prices – 4001 Piedmont Ave, Oakland

Blue bottle was cute… as a small location in JLS, just passed downtown Oakland. It was a small, privately-owned Oakland-local company. Today, blue bottle is not small, not private, not cute. While they market themselves as a “little guy”, they are (now) owned by the tycoon conglomerate company, Nestle. Blue bottle has zero personality or “story.” They just sell expensive coffee at roughly $5. It’s good, but so are the other S E V E N coffee shops on piedmont. In case you miss this (Piedmont)Blue bottle, don’t worry… there’s another Blue Bottle a half mile down the road on Broadway (really not kidding). Despite how they market themselves, they are not local, or privately owned. This store on Piedmont is paying premium cost for retail space on a street where small-businesses continue to slowly shut down, and large boring chains (like this) are opening. Piedmont has several local coffee spots now being smothered by the Starbucks, Peet’s and the recent Blue Bottle. Soon I’m sure we can look forward to Chipotle and Target… Please don’t support Blue Bottle. Too many actual local little guys are already here, and have great coffee. Support local business, especially when it’s better. Blue Bottle does not have a sense of community.

C W Wholesalers – Menu with Prices – 2730 Gilmore St, Jacksonville

Family owned and operated in Jacksonville, Florida for at least the past 50 years. All product is ordered directly from the manufacturer. Size and quantity are bigger than the local food chains..and fresher. If you have an ice cream truck or just want fresh ice cream novelties..this is the place.

Aly`s Coffee Coop – Menu with Prices – 3303 NE 44th St, Vancouver

To be fair: this is right down the road from me. I have been here several times now. Probably my most favorite thing is that this is locally owned, family owned & operated. It’s one of those little espresso stands in a parking lot in between St John’s & St James. One very awesome thing they do is carry a lot of organic, non GMO & local products. Including a large variety of different dairy & non dairy alternatives. The lines are always short. You may wait for a few minutes but it’s worth a short wait. The espresso is smooth. The taste is very original for such a small stand. I’ve received nothing but great service. They also have a punch card. So you can save up your punches & get a free drink. That’s a nice bonus. I would recommend giving this place a try. Especially if you are getting tired of the chain espresso places that seem to serve all the same stuff, the same way.

Bitter Sweet – Menu with Prices – 1001 Jefferson Ave, Cincinnati

We stopped in for lunch today and it was really good. It’s a small, family owned place in our neighborhood and we’ve been meaning to stop by for awhile. I’m glad we had a chance to try it out today. They serve savory and sweet crepes, coffee and smoothies. I ordered a Curry Chicken Crepe, a Side Salad and a Caramel Freppe’ and my husband ordered a Pepperoni Pizza Crepe, iced Green Tea and a Double Espresso over ice. He also ordered a Strawberry Crepe with cream for dessert after he finished his pizza crepe. All of it was delicious! The side salad is great. It had thinly slice tomatoes, mushrooms and carrots and a bit of chopped onion and green pepper. One of the best side salads I’ve had in awhile. The caramel Freppe’ is so good. It’s like a coffee and dessert at the same time. The restaurant is on a side street in Reading. It has tables on one side of the place and a couches and tables on the other side. There’s also a covered patio outside for dining or having a cup of coffee. There’s also a few games and some crayons for the kids. We will definitely be back.

C. Baker & Co – Menu with Prices – 421 E Broughton St, Savannah

Saw a little postcard at our B&B about this place (which was only two blocks away) and was tempted to go…and it was such a find! This locally owned/operated store is located in the less commercial end of Broughton but a MUST visit — you must seek this out. Some local tour guides include this shop in their foodie tours. Yes, they have honey (and free tasting if you need some help deciding) — the owner Kristen was so lovely and helpful with everything! The different honey products were all amazing….and then some! Found lovely other items and decided to get a ton of early Christmas shopping done! The hair/skin products are wonderful — organic, natural, essential oils. Had to get some lavender balm (okay, a few tubes) to take home. Then, found some amazing soy candles scented with essential oils (burns 80 hours per label!): jackpot on gifts for many lucky friends. They also have a website which I am sure to check out (since I’ll probably be ordering more things as holidays approach). Since it was only the start of our day, the owner offered to keep our purchases ‘in the back’ while we continued to stroll around — and since our inn was so close, she even volunteered to drop it off if needed! Such customer service is rare, but very appreciated (not something you would get from a ‘chain’ store). Everyone who comes to Savannah should stop by!!!

The Farm Cart Menu with Prices 1074 Baxter St, Athens

Overall good experience. I will return. However, I think there may still be some kinks to workout in this new store front. Service – The staff was super friendly and helpful, but seemed to be overwhelmed. You order at the counter, take a seat, and your food will be brought out to you. I stood in a somewhat short line to order for awhile. I think there may have been three couples ahead of me, but the cashier kept jumping off the register to run food and help out tables so the line continued to grow and we all stood waiting. This didn’t make a ton of sense to me because there were already two ppl dedicated to running food. Definitely would have preferred to wait at my table than to stand in line debating whether I wanted to stay based on the, imo, wonky system. Menu – They have some great options. I wish I would’ve come with a group, so I could’ve tried multiple biscuits Price – I see that many here have complained about the price. The biscuits are, indeed, pricey and don’t come with any sides. I had a biscuit ($10.50), cup of coffee ($2.50), left a small tip and I spent $16! Geesh. It’s hard to swallow when an unnamed very popular biscuit competitor has just as hardy biscuits for $5.25 (exclude tip, drink, or any sides). HERE IS THE SAVING GRACE…Farmcart is using fresh, local ingredients that are sourced from vendors you can find at the Athens Farmers market. So you are paying a premium for the indgredients. *My suggestion to Farmcart* Hype this up. It’s something to be proud of! It’s listed on the menu, but it’s easy to overlook if a patron is looking straight to the food options. People may feel better about pricing if there was a better connection to this. I still think it’s a bit overpriced when I think of brunch competitors in the area, and not just their biscuit competitors. I think $8 would be a little bit more fair, so that after a drink or a side you’d still be close to $10. Nevertheless, I left full and satisfied, so that made me feel a bit better about the price. THE BISCUIT. I ordered the farmer (so sad my phone went dead and i couldn’t get a pic). Thick piece of delicious sausage, cheddar cheese, micro greens, fried egg, and spicy jam. I loved the jam, perfect sweet and spicy combo. The biscuit was so tasty. The ingrdients come together perfectly, and the biscuit itself is noteworthy. The Farmer deserves a 5 star review all on its own. So all in all. Meh on service and pricing. Oh yes to biscuits and local ingredients!

Jimmy’s Egg – Menu with Prices – 550 N Webb Rd suite b, Wichita

This was my first experience and my last if I have anything to say about it. When we were first seated we chose a table over booth as only 4 of our usual group showed up and we thought we’d sit somewhere we could add another table just in case and told the waiter this as he was following us around with the coffee pot as we decided on a table. 20 minutes later I had to flag him down as he hadn’t even stopped to check on coffee/drink refills. He says he thought we were waiting on others and as we said, we might but anytime we have been in that situation before the wait staff always checks on drinks and asks if we are still waiting to order. My water was never refilled, fortunately I drank someone else’s. I ordered a side of hash browns and a side of biscuits and gravy. Another 10-15 minute wait to have him come out with food and say the biscuits were not ready so within another 10 minutes I am out of breakfast and still hungry, still waiting on him to notice my lack of water. He comes out another 15 or so minutes later to say the biscuits were still not ready and here we are, done with our breakfast, I’m still hungry and he has yet to notice my water which is when I say cancel the biscuits and gravy and point out my lack of water. He says he’ll get me more, I said I had to drink someone else’s, he says, at least you have water. He then brings out the tickets, of course my biscuits and gravy are canceled but he then says he took off the coffee’s for the inconvenience. DUDE! I drank water!!! (everyone else had coffee)

Donut Derelicts – Menu with Prices – 9015 Adams Ave, Huntington Beach

I discovered this place a couple of years ago by accident when I began sending my child to a nearby preschool. It has become my favorite donut and coffee shop! It is the only privately owned, American run and operated donut shop that I’m aware of in Orange County or anywhere for that matter. It is an inexpensive, friendly, down to earth, unpretentious, no BS, hotrod lovin’ pit stop, appealing to blue collar and white collar alike who want great baked goods and simple coffee at a fair price! Personally, I love the sausage, egg, and cheese croissants. Since I’m on the cusp of pre-diabetic, I try to avoid the sugared goods, like their monster cinnamon rolls to die for! A small coffee is $1.25, medium $1.50. Refills, .25 cents. I recommend bringing cash because they charge an extra .50 cents for a card, and their card reader is the old fashioned kind in the back room that takes a little more time to process. I am disappointed to find that they recently took down the “Derelict” portion of their sign! Don’t tell me you’re getting PC on us!
