I have always Relied on Urbaniaks in the past for our Christmas tradition. This Christmas will be different now. It’s very Traditional for us to have smoked salmon on Christmas eve, for as long as I can remember. I know some of what happened in this scenario is my own fault, but the handling of the situation was very unprofessional and rude. I forgot to place an order for the salmon. I called on Tuesday to see if they had some. I was told they have plenty and they only take orders on Sunday’s for it. But “Not to worry” there’s plenty. I sent my husband to pick it up the next day and encountered a very rude woman behind the counter. She rudely told my husband that it was gone and we waited too long to pick up our order. My husband said that we didn’t have an order and only called yesterday and was told there was plenty. She said there’s more in the smoker for tomorrow come first thing. First thing the next day we are told that there’s none and that the only stuff that was smoked from yesterday was for orders, and there will be none until next week. So now i’m confused as to whether they only take orders on Sunday or did they take orders on Thursday too and the woman wouldn’t take one for us. If this wasn’t a tradition with my family, I wouldn’t be so upset. So now I don’t know if I want to do business with them if this is how customers are being treated. I know it’s Christmas and it’s very busy, but there was no compassion. I’m truly disappointed this occurred, as I said, I know it’s my own fault too. I let the month slip away. It’s been a rough year as well for our family. It happens. I just wish there was a bit more understanding.

the Seafood Club – Menu with Prices – 2485 W 14th Ave, Vancouver

I have shopped with The Seafood Club on and off for probably over a year now. I started with an EthicalDeal for halibut/shrimp cakes and have since purchased wild sockeye salmon fillets, mussels, sablefish, smoked sockeye salmon strips, smoked sockeye candy strips, and smoked sockeye mini strips. All delicious and have yet to dissappoint. It seems like a small operation, but I really like their seafood and I think it’s quite well priced for the quality you get. Ocean Wise and much of it is “local” (i.e. pacific northwest) so it ticks both those boxes off for me. Convenient too as you can also pick up in Vancouver to avoid shipping charges if you live locally. I am a huge fan of their smoked salmon products. It comes frozen and vacuum sealed so you defrost it only when you need to and it always tastes fresh. I picked up from their old Richmond location once and I met one of the captains. I figured I should start them on yelp since they seem to be continuing with the ethicaldeals. Also great customer service as they always keep in touch with shipping and pick up details.

Willy’s Wings – Menu with Prices – 4405 Armour Rd E, Columbus

I was hesitant to order from here in the first place because of the reviews from the BLACK community and how we are treated as a whole in this place. My first mind told me to order from WING STOP that is further and more expensive but is worth it because they have BETTER SERVICE , BETTER FOOD, MORE CHOICES! I called into Willy’s where I spoke with a woman to order a 50 pc. for pick up. I wanted 3 flavors total. A few moments later (as I did not have her full undivided attention) I was told I can only order two. I told her what I wanted, she read it back WRONG. I advised her this was WRONG and what I wanted. Then she advised me I had to pay over the phone to even get the order in, another big inconvenience as I wanted to make sure they got my order RIGHT. I get there to pick up my order and make it all the way to my room. (oh ya i did not mention i had just gotten off a 7 hour drive from FL and had 3 hungry children under the age of 8 waiting to eat) I get to my room to find the order the woman INCORRECTLY read back to me was the order she advised to cook to make. I called and told them again my order was wrong. This time it was a younger female. She read the order from the receipt and it was the same INCORRECT order I advised the older woman to correct nearly 2 hours prior. I was told they can correct my order but I will have to bring 25 HOT WINGS back. I was en route before I hung up the phone. I get there to this Willys Wings for the woman who took my order to approach me to tell me, “I know what you ordered, I was the one who spoke with you.” She showed me the chicken scratch she scribbled down and I told her again she had my order wrong. Her response was “Well we aren’t going to replace it.” At this point I am upset but no Livid. I was told I could not have 3 flavors only 2, then I have to pay up front before I could even see my food, I get my order its wrong, I call in and I am told to bring the incorrect order to be corrected, and then I get there to be told that she knows what i ordered and I am wrong about what I ORDERED like I forgot I DO NOT eat HOT WINGS and that the children DO NOT EITHER. To top this all off I had to continue to go back and forth with this RUDE woman about what I as a customer ordered and PAID IN FULL for her to tell me that they aren’t replacing what they had wrong in the first place. My final question for her was what was the point of me hopping in my car yet again to get my order corrected like they told me to and her repsonse was “Well you did not talk to me sooooo.” UNACCEPTABLE, DISGUSTING SERVICE. I spent over $50.00 to have only what I ordered. She told me that she will only replace my order if i was “Nice about it, or we aren’t replacing anything” Tell that old hag working the register to practice what she preaches because my ENTIRE experience with her she was RUDE NASTY and the FURTHEST thing from nice. I WILL NEVER order again from here and will drive FURTHER and will pay MORE to order from WING STOP. IF you have made it this far PLLLLLEEEAAASSSEEEEEE order from WING STOP. I’ve never seen such a disappointing, disgraceful, racist business as such in my life. If I could give you 0 stars I would no questions asked!

Willie Bird Turkeys – Menu with Prices – 5350 Sebastopol Rd, Santa Rosa

Willie Bird Turkeys are the best! I was a fan of Diestel turkeys for years, (that I ordered from my local meat market) but after a couple of bad experiences with Diestels , (from Whole Foods) I did some research and chose Willie Bird as my new turkey purveyor. Do to some Fed-ex issues last Thanksgiving, I opted to drive up to Santa Rosa to pick up my Willie Bird myself…so glad I did. We spent the day and had dinner in Healdsburg, then stayed the night in Santa Rosa. The next morning, we had breakfast and drove the few miles to Willie Bird. We arrived 30 minutes early, and they were not open yet, but we opted to wait. Within a few minutes, the light flicked on and a very nice woman opened the door and said “come on in”. I paid for my turkey, and a bag of bones and necks for my stock, but before leaving, I noticed the smoked turkeys…hmmmm. The gentleman next to me told me that his family purchased their first smoked turkey in 1979, and have not wavered since. “Smoked Willie every year.” I had to try the smoked turkey. I purchased a smoked breast (rather than the whole turkey) and it is the best smoked turkey ever. it is fantastic alone and on sandwiches!!! Smoked or not, Willie BIrd is the best!

The Pies Guys Pub And Grub – Menu with Prices – 4744 Onondaga Blvd, Syracuse

Placed an order yesterday for a 5 PM pick up today. We wanted to give ample notice because it was a larger order. When I arrived I was told the pizza would be out in two minutes. 10 minutes later I was told the wings were ready but we’re waiting on the pizza. I was told it would only be five more minutes. 20 minutes later I went back to the counter to see what the holdup was. The woman at the counter said “I’ll get the owner this is ridiculous. The pizza guy just walked out the back door”. A couple minutes later and my food came out, I never spoke to the owner I was just given my food and I left. This was a total shit show and I hope they get their act together. I was one of about eight people whose orders were behind as well. On Halloween night this was definitely a trick and no treat.

Balkh Bakery & Deli – Menu with Prices – 32730 Alvarado Blvd, Fremont

RUDE! RUDE! RUDE! I called in an order of bolani and when I got there more than 20 minutes later it wasn’t ready. The RUDE lady behind the counter was incredulous that I was there to pick it up already when according to her I “just called 5 minutes ago”. I initially didn’t even mind that it wasn’t ready yet until she kept insisting that I just called 5 minutes earlier (I even showed her my phone to show I called 20+ minutes earlier), plus the fact that it hadn’t even been started yet. How do I know? She basically told the cook to start making it and then shut the kitchen door part way so that I couldn’t see that happening. There was 1 party dining already with a half-eaten bolani on their table and as I was talking to this lady, another piping one came out. I thought it was mine but nope, went to their table. My guess is the one that I ordered went to that party instead. I’ve even tried to go there two previous times, but they said their cook wasn’t there to make it. Too bad. Good bolani (haven’t tried anything else), but rude employees, and poorly-runned.

Hibachi Xpress Highland Square Menu with Prices 810 W Market St, Akron

Yesterday I called and placed an order but I had a family emergency come up to where I had to call and cancel it. So I called back 10 minutes after I placed the order because the lady said it would take 25 minutes so I let her know I had to cancel and carried on saying and I quote “Wow so we just wasted all this food” I told her there was no need for that and she proceeded to say the food was done and I told her I had an emergency come up and she told the rest of the staff not to accept anymore orders from me when they see my number and hung up. I called back she didn’t answer because at this point I want to speak to a manager so I keep calling she answers I ask for a manager she hangs up I call back again she answers says the manager on they way in and she’ll have them call me and I never got a call. The food is good but staff is unprofessional I’ve been going to this location since they opened and never had an issue until now. So whoever the lady that was working around 7pm doesn’t not need to be working in customer service.

The Casserole Shop – Menu with Prices – 4420 Forsyth Rd, Macon

Total strike out!!! This was my first time this visiting The Casserole Shop, after hearing numerous radio ads….total frustration and disappointment!!! I wanted to buy a small breakfast casserole as a Christmas gift for a friend who had been working extra hard lately. I was trying to give her a break so she and her hubby could relax and enjoy the casserole on Christmas morning. I had called a couple of days ahead to ask if I needed to place an order for one or if they normally had enough on hand. A nice young man told me that it wouldn’t be a problem, that they normally have plenty on hand. Well, when I went to purchase it, the small shopping center parking lot was totally full, no where to park….only saw one marked spot for the shop, it was taken. It’s a very tight parking lot when full! I finally found one in front of Circa. When I went inside, I asked for a small breakfast casserole, a nice young lady apologized for being sold out of them. I told her about calling a couple of days before. I got very upset because my Christmas plan for my friend has been totally ruined by the shop not being prepared for extra Christmas orders!!! If I hadn’t been told that it wouldn’t be a problem on the call, I wouldn’t have been so upset. I felt like I had been lied to! While at grocery later in the day, I shared my experience with someone….she said that the food is good, but that the business is somewhat of a disorganized mess. Can’t wait to share my experience with my friend also! First impressions matter, I doubt there will ever be a second chance here!!! Very sad for all concerned!

Red Lobster – Menu with Prices – 1870 W Craig Rd, North Las Vegas

Absolute shoddy employees. I placed a phone order at 5.43pm, was told it would take 20-25 minutes to pickup. So I show up at 6:20pm and wait at the front of the To-Go counter. I was ignored for 5 minutes while 2 female employees behind the counter were trying to get someone else’s To-Go order right. They had some type of heating plate to keep orders warm as customers pick up, but they left so much food just sitting on the counter, that only 1 order was kept warm while the other 2 were left sitting cold! After standing there 15 minutes till 6:35pm, I was serviced and then told that my order “was placed, but then it was cancelled. We will start cooking it right away for you, as soon as the order is in.” I said, that’s unacceptable, I should have gotten a call or something, as you guys took my phone number when I placed the order, I can’t wait 30 minutes now with my hungry kids waiting in the car. She apologized and tried to offer my kids some juice or lemonade. Tried to take my order again but kept over-charging everything when I showed her the exact menu item and pointed at it. Fire grilled lobster /shrimp skewer/ salmon combo which was around $30. Then was told that they’re out of salmon! I asked her to substitute something for salmon in the combo that would come out around the same price, and she added rock lobster which raised my total by almost $40 more. THAT is not substituting. I told her she could have offered an extra shrimp skewer to replace the salmon that I would have paid for anyway. I’m a customer that’s already frustrated as it is, and you’re trying to UPSELL me at the last minute!!! It’s our first time going to Red Lobster, and also our LAST time. This transaction has ruined the experience for our family.

Aloha BBQ Grill – Menu with Prices – 9810 Indiana Ave # 800, Lubbock

First of all, we LOVE the food. The price is right and portions very large. HOWEVER, donâ??t waste time calling in an order ahead of time. I called in our order 30 minutes ahead of going to pick it up. After I paid, the very unfriendly woman put it at the END of the line of orders on the counter!!! I asked her why my order was placed at the end and I had called it in 30 minutes ago. She told me because all of the other people were ahead of me!! I waited another 30 minutes before my food was ready. I said, â??Just so I understand, it doesnâ??t help to call ahead?â? She said no. I was fuming, but will eat there again because the food is so delicious. I would suggest for them to put a message on their answering machine that they do not accept phone orders. Iâ??ve never had this happen with any other restaurant! Iâ??m sure they have had people call in orders and never pickup, but if they choose to do business like this, the customer needs to know their order will be placed at the end of the line when they pay, or accept payment over the phone. The lady at the front also needs some lessons on customer service. Itâ??s a good thing they have delicious food; they would have been out of business a long time ago.

Juan’s Rotisserie Chicken – Menu with Prices – 27548 Ynez Rd I13, Temecula

What can I say? I’ve cooked Thanksgiving every year for my entire family for years. This year I decided I wasn’t going to cook and my daughter suggested we order a family pack here. It wasn’t very expensive somewhere around $80 for 6 chickens, potato salad, rice and beans which was plenty to feed us all. I thought it was a great price because I spend a lot more cooking Thanksgiving dinner s. I put the deposit down and they had the food ready on time for us to pick up. That was the good part. The bad part was that when we got home all the chickens were old and dry. They were probably cooked early in the morning and sat under a heat lamp or left in an oven for hours on warm. Thank goodness my husband smoked a pork roast in the smoker because we ended up throwing most of the chicken out because of the dryness of the meat. The beans and rice were okay. The taste was good. The potato salad is different now because they are no longer with the Juan Pollo chain and are now called Juan’s Rotisserie Chicken (which I really didn’t know until I went to pick up my meal). That being said the potato salad was edible but not as good as before. The service I received from personnel was good. Unfortunately, I will never be ordering a party pack from them again because of the gross, dry chicken.

Neopol Savory Smokery Menu with Prices 529 E Belvedere Ave, Baltimore

I’d always been intrigued by Neopol when I drop into Belvedere Square and I finally tried them out and I will definitely be back! As the name suggests, pretty much everything is smoked – many varieties of salmon, pastrami, mackerel, cheese; they even smoke tofu, garlic, and hummus! Point is, if you like smoked food, you’ll like this place. I tried one of the cheese pies, all of which are around $10. They look smaller in the case than they do on the plate; even splitting one with a companion I was very satisfied. I thoroughly enjoyed my roasted red peppers and artichoke filling and am eager to sample the other flavors. The folks behind the counter were fast and friendly. They even offered a few samples of their cardamom lemonade and their rice salad. Prices vary; you can get a sandwich, pie, or salad for anywhere from $10-$15, but once you start ordering smoked salmon by the pound, it can get pricey (as of this writing, most of the smoked salmon was $26/lb.). Overall solid and worth a try.
