After having several friends really like Yvonne’s and suggest I try it, 5 of us popped in rather late last night after a work meeting. The decor and furnishing are nicely done, the restrooms were well maintained and very clean, and the menu was broad and typical of the Norteño style food we usually see in El Paso. Our waitress was, perhaps, a bit distracted, but again, we were the last group to come in and the staff was beginning to prep for the end of their shifts. Fast forward a bit – Red chile combo plate? My friend loved it. Ground beef Taco plate? My friend loved it. Bean burrito for their daughter? She ate a lot of it (it’s really big, but she did a good job.) My other friend had the Tacos Antonia plate and enjoyed 2 of the tacos – more below about her. I had asked if the mole was made in house or from a mix and was told that they make it. Awesome. Mole plate arrived, huge portion with beans and rice, and… Well… 2 corn tortillas… But the mole was really very delicious. The beans however? It was end of the day and they were really kind of burnt tasting and so over salted I couldn’t eat them. The rice, likewise, had seen better days. It was decently seasoned, but almost like fried rice in texture. It had been kept hot much of the day, dried out, and then maybe had extra oil added to refresh it? It was kind of a hard, greasy mess. In any case, beans and rice were secondary and the mole was very tasty. After asking for more tortillas, I ate 5 nicely stuffed corn tortillas and knew I was done. The remaining mole would be nice for lunch, right? My friend who ordered the Tacos Antonia and I both asked for a small to-go container which was promptly provided. We all chatted for a bit more and started heading out. Right as I passed through the exit, I started feeling a bit queasy. I have a nearly cast-iron stomach, so it rare for me to feel like this, but it had been a stressful week… I said a quick goodbye to my friends, explained that I wasn’t feeling great, and walked across the parking lot to my car- where I proceeded to projectile vomit the entire mean promptly onto the pavement. Water, tissues, a peppermint all arrived from my friends and I told them I would be fine, I just needed a minute. My friend who had the Tacos Antonia and I stayed out chatting in the cool, breezy night for a bit, although she also began to feel queasy about 20 minutes later, but didn’t throw up at least. I don’t know if I was having an off-day or if something had genuinely gone bad in the food I ate, but I’m going to be hard to convince to go back anytime soon.

Las Delicias Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 5010 Louetta Rd, Spring

Tried this place out today—don’t know how we’ve missed it. Little, but looked well kept. We were looking to get breakfast tacos, but when we saw they had huevos rancheros for $4.99, we opted for that instead. The menu says it comes w beans and rice. You order at the counter and the lady taking our order asked us which kind of tortilla did we want. My husband said corn, and I asked for flour. While waiting/reading the menu, we added a pork tamale to each of our breakfasts too ($1 each). After a brief wait, out plates arrived, as did fresh but flour only tortillas. The beans were very watery—not refried, not whole—and quickly got the small amount of fried potatoes (instead of rice, I guess) and eggs wet. Not a deal breaker, but we were surprised how meager the portions were. Beans are super cheap and are not labor intensive, so why skimp on them? They tasted fine. The potatoes were good, and I prefer them to rice at breakfast. The homemade sauces were both good, as were the 5small tortillas my husband and I split. We went to pay and only then did they reveal that they charge $1.75 for the tortillas. Between that and the small portion, we will probably not be back for plates, but we might try the tacos.

Panchitos Restaurant Menu with Prices 2104 O St, Bakersfield

Previous Yelp reviews I read about Panchitos were amazing! I invited two girlfriends to come with me to check it out for lunch. So sad the previous restaurant in this spot, Narducci Burgers and Shaved Ice, closed. I’m happy that someone else is trying to share their food in this really cool spot. They’ve done a little renovating…front two booths that had privacy curtains in front of them have been removed. Seems a little more roomy now. We were greeted and seated immediately after we arrived. Our drink orders were taken. They make fresh iced tea and got paper straws when we asked for them. We were brought chips with mole and cheese on them. No napkins or silverware to dig in, so I asked for some. The menu has many really interesting dishes. I had a hard time deciding, but went with the shrimp Chile relleno, rice, beans and flour tortillas. One friend had ordered the chilaquiles with green sauce, but changed her mind after I ordered. She ended up ordering the Chile relleno, too. Second friend ordered the beef crispy tacos. Another group of three arrived and ordered after we did and got their food before us…huh. The refried beans, in their own bowls, arrived first. Next, the rellenos came out. We waited a couple minutes before the tacos arrived. We all dug in. Rellenos were delicious! Chile was cut open and filled with cheese and four large shrimp. Beans had a nice flavor. Rice wasn’t too exciting. Our server checked on us frequently. We had to ask for refills on our drinks, but they were never empty because she came by so often. I would definitely like to visit again. Many items on the menu sounded good. Service was great!

Abelardo’s Mexican Food – Menu with Prices – 1200 S Minnesota Ave, Sioux Falls

Went there Friday April 26th. When I arrived I asked the young gentleman what was good (I like to find out what the staff likes to help me decide). He said “Everything”. I ordered the two taco plate. A friend ordered the taco and enchilada plate with a shredded beef taco and cheese enchilada. When our food arrived it was interesting that the amount of beans and rice was different on each of our plates. They use a Styrofoam plate that has three sections. Since the rice was in one section, the beans in another, my friend definitely had more of each. I expected the taco to be one of three things: 1) a flour tortilla (ie softshell) 2) a hard yellow corn fried tortilla (hardshell) or 3) a white corn tortilla lightly grilled (street taco). What I received was a flour tortilla deep fried and dark brown (on the edge of burned). Same with my friend’s taco. When I picked up my taco, there was nearly an 1/8th of an inch of grease in the third section. As I held the taco, the grease literally dripped out! I thought about adding a enchilada to my order at first, but now I was glad I didn’t. Here is the take-away. My plate had less beans and rice than my friend. My ground beef tacos were greasy and had nearly burned deep fried flour tortillas with very little seasoning. My friend’s shredded beef taco meat was tender, but without flavor and his shell was also nearly burned. His enchilada had little flavor also. The salsa bar was nice, as as the other reviewer mentioned, the salsa is a little spicy. They had sliced carrots and pickled jalapeno peppers, as well as radishes and fresh lime. The menu looks like Giliberto’s, the salsa bar looks like Giliberto’s but the portion size and flavors are not there. We felt like they were trying to imitate a good thing, but fell short. We cleaned our plates there and went to Taco Johns. I had a super burrito and small Ole’s. He had a hardshell taco and small Ole’s. Kinda sad when you have to order a meal after you have just finished one….

Mercado Pasadena – Menu with Prices – 140 S Lake Ave suite 101, Pasadena

Opted to come here for lunch, because margaritas ? What I ate: – Guacamole: This was great! Definitely get this to share with the table. Honestly, my friend and I would have been happy sharing this huge portion with margaritas – Chicken enchiladas with mole: I love a good mole, and this didn’t disappoint. Really deep nutty flavor. Chicken was tender. Rice and beans were okay. – Paloma margarita: I love grapefruit, and this margarita was perfect. Not too strong, but had a nice kick. – Beef filet tacos: This was so good. That tortilla was fresh and thick. Beef was superrrrrr tender Pros: – All the food that we ordered was delicious! – Staff was friendly – Patio seating, some near the front of the restaurant entrance, and another entire patio area next to the street. Perfect for nice CA weather – Nice selection of margaritas – When we walked through the main restaurant, it was pretty nice inside. Cons: – I kind of hated the fact that they did not have the tacos a la carte for the lunch menu. My friend really wanted to try a nice mix of tacos, but they only come in pairs on a plate with rice and beans. – Parking, depending on the time of day you are there can be hit or miss – On the pricier side. This is definitely a classier place, but maybe not worth the price? We ordered 2 drinks, 2 entrees, and an app, with tax+tip it came out to almost $100! What an expensive lunch Would I come again? Maybe for happy hour?

Chihuahua Charlies Cantina Menu with Prices 5835 Interstate 20 W, Arlington

Ok-so I’ve been there twice in one month now…and both times service, although GREAT, is just a little slow. The tables are dirty and it seems like they are understaffed…that being said, however…their food is YUMMY!! Let me just say that green salsa is DA BOMB! But NOT for the faint of heart!! It’s spicy, but the flavor ir amazing! The chips and thin and just the perfect amount of salt. The red salsa isn’t bad either, I just really prefer the green. First time I had the fajitas. Not bad! Not the best I e had, but definitely not the worst! They were moist and tender and flavored well. I can’t speak for the rice and beans personally, because I don’t eat rice and beans-but my friends that had them said they were delicious! My other friends had the poblano enchiladas, the chicken bowl, and the flautas. My friend raves about their Elote. I also don’t eat corn, but it looked delicious! The second time we went, I had their menudo. Definitely one of the best I’ve ever had. Our waitress was knowledgeable about the food, the history of the restaurant and was super attentive. My 4 yo son had their queso (that’s his staple at all Mexican Restaurants) and their cheese enchiladas with the beans (no rice)…he LICKED the plate, so two thumbs up from the 4 yo. My husband had the poblano enchiladas with beans and corn, also licked the plate! Needless to say we will definitely be back!!

Burritos El Rey – Menu with Prices – 3330 Partner Pl ste 114, Lexington

What a great little place. Ate here for the first time today and it was amazing. Started off with their flavored water and we had cantaloupe. I was skeptical but we loved it. So refreshing and flavorful. Next came out soups which come with your entree. No chips and salsa to fill up on. Healthy and flavorful. One was chicken with rice and large pieces of veggies like broccoli, cauliflower and carrots. The other was just veggies with broccoli, spinach and kale. I had one pork taco and one chicken on corn tortillas. Delicious authentic tacos. My friend had one of their huge burritos with steak, rice and black beans stuffed inside and drizzled on top was some white cheese sauce. Such friendly people who came to say hello as we were finishing and thanked us for coming in. Did I mention the extremely reasonable prices? Check them out!!

Palapas Tacos – Menu with Prices – 133 W Chapman Ave #101, Fullerton

Easily going to become our go-to Taco Tuesday spot, with amazing meats, fresh toppings, and 1.50 tacos. Their carnitas taco will become your best friend, confidant, and comforter. A crunchy layer on the outside gave way to lots of flavor and tenderness on the inside (kind of like me). The lengua taco is all tenderness and no flavor. The birria taco is amazingly spice flavoring, but it comes as either lamb or goat which are distinctively flavored meats on their own. Know yourself before committing to it. I ordered the three taco plate, which comes with rice and beans. I was building a rice and beans layer for a wine tasting late and was pleasantly surprised to find the rice/beans had plenty of flavors very enjoyable to eat on their own. Ambience was perfect for lunch or dinner, with mutes street sounds and nearby heaters in case it got chilly. My partner and I could hear each other just fine and still felt our conversation wouldn’t be overheard. Other categories? Well, their tortillas are corn (nice and authentic) and hold up well — not falling apart in your second but. Cilantro is everywhere (including in the guacamole, which I love). If cilantro is not your thing, make sure to ask to leave it off.

Danny Boy’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 664 E St, Chula Vista

Well done Senoras y Senoritas who made my breakfast the day I visited. I had the huevos a Mexicana with ham and Serrano peppers with a side of red chilaquilas and refried beans, not to mention some warm corn tortillas. The meal was only about $8. I have to say, everything on my plate, including the salsas and hot sauces were delicious. The eggs were well scrambled and seasoned. The scramble came with a very good amount of savory ham, chopped onions, peppers, and tomatoes. The red chilaquiles were fantastic! I would of ordered a plate full of them with a couple of fried eggs on top if I knew they were so good. The tortillas were crisp and infused with a terrific slightly but flavorful robust red sauce. The Cotija cheese, cream, and pickled red onions that sat on top of them were great. Great eats indeed. The refried beans were very well made, creamy, and seasoned just right. I used the warm corn tortillas to not only eat the beans with, but to make breakfast tacos with the scramble. The ladies who work here are all very nice and cook some mighty tasty Mexican eats.

Pepe’s Taqueria – Menu with Prices – 645 Chandler St, Worcester

Went today with my friend for lunch. It was a first time for both of us. I wasn’t impressed or wowed. I ordered guacamole to go alone with our chips & salsa (looked like it had julienne carrots in it): the tomatoes & red onions inside looked like they were old, they were softish & the guac itself was very loose & lacked flavor we added salt. She ordered fried fish tacos & I ordered steak & chicken fajitas: neither one of us liked the tortillas. They came to us with some kind of yellow grease still on them. To me they tasted like they were uncooked. We think they maybe been corn the menu never said what kind they have. The our beans were loose but tasted good, the rice was also good. My steak & chicken was ok, I did have to add some salt. My friend liked her fish tacos. We both ate our meal without those tortillas. After giving us boxes for our leftovers, the waitress brought the check without asking if we wanted dessert. As she was placing the bill down, friend wished me a happy birthday. The waitress wished me one as well but still didn’t ask if we wanted dessert. We were 1 of 3 seated tables so it wasn’t a matter of it being busy. I would order their fajitas again, either without those tortillas or request them cooked longer. But I’m a little leary about trying anything else. Their portion sizes are large enough to have a doggie bag. Oh & I don’t know what the deal was with the locked bathroom door. Maybe it’s only one stall, if so I find that odd a restaurant of that size wouldn’t have a multi-stall bathroom.

Laredo Taco Company – Menu with Prices – 1209 Fortress Blvd, Murfreesboro

Was I pleasantly surprised or what… This place was actually pretty good for the price. We got the tacos de bistec and they were nice and flavorful. The steak was seasoned well and the onions that came with it gave it a slight sweetness. Only complaint was that the corn tortillas were a little undercooked so they were a little soggy. It also came with Mexican rice and beans. The beans weren’t anything special but the rice was sooo good. The taste of cumin and tomatoes really work well together for it. If only the rice wasn’t a little mushy, it would’ve been perfection. Still, the flavoring is top notch.

Taqueria Los Pinos – Menu with Prices – or3316 a E 14th, 1348 Richmond Ave, Des Moines

I stumbled on this food truck by accident ! Great food and prices at this truck ! I had two chicken tacos, side of beans, tortillas and a jaritos mandarin soda. The tacos were 3 bite size and served on corn tortillas. The tacos came with sauces. The chicken had good flavor ! I liked the grilled onion on the tacos. The beans were my favorite part of the meal ! I got a good size side of beans. Great flavor and delicious ! Authentic Mexican food truck! Definitely a good stop for lunch in Des Moines!
