The Hideaway opened in 2017 in the historic 1913 Bryan Building located on the National Register of Historic Places. The building was built by Thomas Bryan after a 1912 fire in Ft. Lauderdale. It is the least altered building from that time period in Ft. Lauderdale. At various times the building housed a post office, bank, hotel, law office, and dry goods store to name just a few of the buildings past tenants. Current tenant is The Hideaway, a speakeasy bar serving cocktails, craft beers, whiskey and a rotating menu of food. The Hideaway has embraced the historic nature of the building and they have even uncovered the original columns made out of Dade County Pine. Further rounding out the period vibe is pressed tin ceilings, period furniture, and a cozy lounge. The bar is made out of a work bench and factory conveyor belt. We came in for a stop on a Game of Thrones themed bar crawl. I instantly fell in love with the history of this building. I love that The Hideaway chose to pay homage to Ft. Lauderdale’s past. After sitting in the inviting lounge area we discovered the back room where they had taken pictures of people from the crawl and turned them into The faceless men from the House of Black and White. They also hung up a giant Stark Banner. Not so cool was when one of the employees in their eagerness to clean up tossed out my drink when I placed it down for a second to take a picture. A simple hey is this anyone’s drink? would have been nice. Still had a fun time here and would definitely come back.

Woolworth Walk Menu with Prices 25 Haywood St, Asheville

What a cool way to preserve a historic Woolworth Building. This place is a huge art gallery, almost 20,000 square feet, with an old fashioned soda fountain. It will remind older folks of the Woolworth Luncheonette counters of the past. This particular building was built in 1938. When we visited, we were in a hurry, so we just stopped in for chocolate malts. During my next visit, I would love to spend some extra time looking at the art created by local artists. You will find examples of jewelry, fine arts, decorative arts as well as crafts.

Hermanos Coffee + Juice – Menu with Prices – 650 California St, San Francisco

Decent coffee, especially if you work in the office building it inhabits. Disclaimer: I’m not a SF native and tried this place out on a whim. I was heading to a juice bar when I thought about adding coffee to the mix (two beverages at 7 am in the morning– is there anything better?). Quickly searching nearby places, I stumbled upon Hermanos. Located inside an office building, it’s a cute stand in the lobby. When I arrived at around 7 am, there was no line (likely because people had yet to make their way to the office for the day). I was quickly helped, ordering the Ritual Drip Coffee with the Yelp deal. Let’s be real, there’s nothing better than free coffee. They have some cream and liquid cane sugar out for people to add if they like. I added a little of both, so I can’t speak to the taste of the pure coffee. However, what I did drink was a solid cup. Not out of this world, but something that I could get behind drinking on a regular basis. Overall, you really can’t beat free coffee so if you’re in the area, go get your caffeine fix! Otherwise, I would probably only frequent it if I was located nearby or was walking past.

Island Cafe – Menu with Prices – 501 Independence Pkwy # 104, Chesapeake

If you work in this area, this is a prime choice for lunch. The ladies who work here are excellent cooks. They also seemed kind and gracious. I’ve only been here once since I’m rarely ever in this office park for long. For that reason, I can’t provide much info on their menu or daily specials. The day I was there they were offering a Korean BBQ. She described the dish to me in detail and offered me a sample which I declined because I knew I was going to love it, and I did. The beef was flavorful and juicy. It’s served with white rice and a salad with vinegar based dressing. The meal was hot, fresh, and delicious. It was under $10 including the drink. At this place, you order at the counter then get your cup and grab a drink while you wait. The dining area is tiny, approximately 8 tables that seat 2 people. There is no restroom, however, just a short walk down the hallway toward the building’s lobby, there are large, clean restrooms. I was there after the lunch rush around 2:00 so I don’t know if space is an issue during lunch peak. Since it’s in a office park, most customers probably work in the building or an adjacent building and can just go back to their office to eat. If I’m in the area for lunch again I’m definitely going back to see what other specials they offer.

Renaissance Family Practice – Menu with Prices – 111 Sheridan St, Pittsburgh

Where do I begin? My disappointment isn’t even with the actual appointment because I did not end up having an actual appointment because I was refused to be seen even though I called to let them know I was running just 10 minutes late. I felt that I would be nice enough to call and let the office know that I was 10 minutes late but was literally at the corner of the street, only to be put on hold for several minutes. For the period of about four minutes that I was at the light in the rush-hour traffic as well as just sitting on hold in general only for the lady to get back on the phone and tell me that I had to reschedule. I told the lady that I could understand if it was over 15 minutes due to the policy of most offices but I found that a little absurd. She then had the nerve to tell me that though I couldn’t come in and see the doctor because I need to reschedule, I could always just come in and try to talk to the doctor to see if they will see me. So first I’m told that I can’t be seen but then I’m told that I should go ahead and come and waste my time trying to convince the doctor to see me? No thanks I’ll go to a different doctors office. It would be understandable if the office was packed but I could even see the office from down the street where I was at and there’s no way they would not of been able to see me.

Mancave Cigar Lounge – Menu with Prices – 2920 E Commercial Blvd, Fort Lauderdale

Stop in while travelling through South Florida. First off I visit cigar lounges across the country continuously as I travel. And let me tell you Fort Lauderdale, FL has a gem in Mancave Cigar Lounge. Not only do they have a great selection of cigars, and an surprisingly HUGE of beers to chose from, but they have it all really. Great amount of huge flat screen TV’s to watch sport or anything else you want. They also have great leather type chairs and couches to make it a very comfortable spot even for people that don’t like sitting at the bar(the bar is where I usually sit was was also amazing). And what really put this lounge over the top even though everything else was great, THE BARTENDER. To me this is probably the most important cog in any business of this type. It is truly what makes people want to keep coming back over and over and over again! Our bartender was named Veronica, and she check ALL the boxes and was simply incredible and would make anyone want to keep coming back to spend all their time. Kudos to the owners on that hire. They really seem to know what they are doing! Veronica is invaluable. To to visit again real soon!

Southside Coffee Brew Bar – Menu with Prices – 3922 6th St S, St. Petersburg

My friend lives down the street next to this coffee place. She always raves about it so we went on in. It’s small but out so charming. There is four stools inside for seating and a couple chairs outside to sit and enjoy your coffee as well as any of there sweet treats. I talked to Sheila for a bit she was so sweet and very helpful about talking about the menu and the bakery items. I asked Bryan who was making the drinks his favorite drink and he said the Mocha so I got that with coconut milk and a extra shot of espresso. I also ordered a spinach and mozzarella croissant sandwich. While Sheila warmed up my sandwich Bryan made my drink. I waited maybe ten minutes as there were a few drink orders ahead of mind but it gave me time to take in the place. It was really so cute and they were so happy it was the perfect way to start the day. My drink was great robust, full of mocha goodness, plus the addition of the coconut milk gave it a bit of nuttiness. The croissant sandwich was light and flaky the spinach was seasoned and the cheese was melty. I can’t wait to go back and try more of their offerings

Brown Cup Cafe & Lounge – Menu with Prices – 401 N Coast Hwy ste e, Oceanside

The Brown Cup Cafe & Lounge has been one our favorite go-to cafés in Oceanside for the past year. Ever since we discovered this quaint gem of a lounge, my fiancée and I tend to gravitate here almost every morning. Located right on the 101, Brown Cup is run by a very friendly and humble staff. You’re greeted as you enter and service is always attentive. Their menu may seem limited compared to other spots, but they specialize in their items and whether it’s a pastry or beverage, they put plenty of love & care into each. They’ve got CBD teas, gluten-free pastries, plenty of coffee and some cold drinks as well. The decor is very new-age, Indonesian-inspired and has plenty of space for the solo patron or small groups who just want to relax and socialize. From the couches up front, to the work benches in the back, there’s ample room to sit down and do work from your laptop in a quiet environment. It’s always clean inside and the atmosphere is very peaceful and I highly recommend coming here to do work.

Thai On the Beach – Menu with Prices – Located On 2nd Floor, 901 N Fort Lauderdale Beach Blvd, Fort Lauderdale

Fort Lauderdale isn’t exactly known for a good selection of Thai restaurants, so knowing there’s one around close to the action of Fort Lauderdale Beach is a nice surprise. You’ll have to be someone who has attention to detail to notice this place even exists, because for a couple of years I thought this was just a 2nd floor to Primanti Brother’s. I visited today with the wifey, 5/12/2019, we were greeted kindly. We had the option of sitting anywhere, which consisted of about enough room for about 10 tables. They have a special dining area where you have to take your shoes off, which is neat, so we sat there. The other choices however, are not bad because you can get an ocean view of all the action of Sunrise Blvd and A1A. we had: 1. Singha Beer – $4.95? 2. Panang Curry – $13.95 3. Massaman Curry – $13.95 4. Fried Bananas w/ Ice Cream – $6 Singha beer was okay, it had a very light taste, it was good but not my favorite. Panana Curry and Massaman Curry were exactly how you expect them to taste from a Thai place, and the Fried Banana w/ Ice Cream could’ve been a little better. Overall, a pleasant experience, close to the beach, much better than 90% of overpriced food you find on Fort Lauderdale Beach. 4*

MAZ Coworking Space Orange County – Shared Office & Event Space Orange County (MAZ SPACE) – Menu with Prices – 610 N Lacy St, Santa Ana

I discovered Maz Cafe back in 2016 and I fell in love with this coffee shop instantly. It has always been one of my favorite stops for delicious drinks & pastries, friendly staff, and an open space to unwind and relax. Let me just take a moment to talk about my favorite drink here. Every time I stop by, I have to grab my All Time Favorite Drink which is their AMAZINGGGGGG Mexican Hot Chocolate. Let me just remind everyone that Orange Coast Magazine has given Best Hot Chocolate to Maz Cafe. I truly love Hot Chocolate so excuse my crazy excitement over this!! To continue with the main reason for this review, I haven’t been to this coffee shop for a little over a month and to my surprise, when I walked in at the end of December 2018, I walked into a brand new venue. It has been completely upgraded along with all brand new decor. I loved the space before so much but it fails in comparison to this newly updated place. The Maz Cafe’s new look has such a bright, refreshing, good energy to the whole place but that’s not the only thing that has been upgraded. They have created an entire separate space for their additional concept: Coworking Space. Coworking Spaces have been popping up everywhere in major metropolitan cities and I was thrilled when Maz Cafe was going to incorporate this aspect into their space!! I frequent this spot so often and spend countless hours working on my home business so when I saw a promotion on their Instagram page for a New Years Promotion for Coworking Space for $99, normally $199, I quickly jumped to the chance and signed up for membership. Not only do I enjoy coming to this beautiful space on a daily basis, I love being able to know that I have an office that I can get my work done at because working from home causes too much distraction!! They also added a private conference room so that I can meet with clients and discuss business contracts in private which was a huge plus for me. I also get discounts for being a member for all drinks and food so that makes me incredibly happy!! Santa Ana doesn’t have any Coworking Spaces and the nearest locations are either in Irvine or Los Angeles for at least double the price. I highly suggest anyone to go check out this place and give it a try. Definitely saves money to anyone who cannot rent out an office!! It’s located in historic Downtown Santa Ana. At least stop by to check out their amazing Horchata Latte, Mazapan Frappe, or my favorite Mexican Hot Chocolate.

Gateway Snack Shop Menu with Prices 11400 114th Ave SE # 150, Bellevue

Excellent little deli/cafe inside this office building. I work up the street and routinely come here for lunch. Everything is made with fresh ingredients directly in front of you. The menu is varied with a great selection of lunch and breakfast items including espresso, soups and sandwiches, and wraps. My only issue is that during lunch this place gets busy and there’s a bit of a wait because the only person who preps the items is the business owner and she’s working as fast as she can but I don’t mind because of the quality of the items she delivers. I wish we had something like this in my office building that she ran!

The Office Niteclub – Menu with Prices – 513 E State St, Rockford

The bar is great. There are 2 floors to The Office Night Club. The main floor has the dance floor and toward the front is where you get your drinks. There are a variety of people that go to this gay club from various age groups from 21and up. Oh might i add the have a social area outside area where you can smoke if you so desire. The owners are great! Very friendly and accomidating. The bartenders are also friendly and are very efficient and quick when it comes to serving drinks. The atmosphere is very nice and the people that come here are friendly down home folks. So if you want a drink or want to watch a show in the upstairs show lounge look no further than The Office Nite Club.
