I used to love coming here with my family and friends, the portions were an amazing size and the price wasn’t bad at all. Until I came here on 8/2/19 for dinner, I had ordered the chicken bbq combo and my girlfriend ordered a katsu bbq combo, it was a Friday night so it was busy which I didn’t mind because places get busy and I was willing to wait for food. Once we sat down and got our food my girlfriends Katsu chicken was RAW. I tried to go up there and ask for another katsu and it would be totally fine but the people at the cash register said it was perfectly fine to eat, when it clearly was not. I then told my girlfriend that they wouldn’t take it back so she went up there and had to literally beg for another katsu, she even offered to pay for another one, after going back and forth with the cashiers they said they could bring us out another one. When they did I kid u tf not they brought us a chicken that was more raw than the first one we had…. I hate to write this review and sound like a white mom Karen but I’d also hate to get food poisoning more…

Sushi In Joy Menu with Prices 2618 Bellevue Way NE, Bellevue

Stopped in for lunch. There was just the one server, overwhelmed and unable to spare much time. I ordered the lunch bento box with chicken katsu and tempura. It’s supposed to come with miso but it that never happened. The bento box arrived looking great but looks are deceiving. There was a large mixed green salad included, a large pool of water at the base of the bowl suggested the leaves had been washed but not dried. Wet salad tends to taste like just leaves, as the dressing washes away. The sauce included with the chicken katsu was reddish and very sweet. Never had that served at a Japanese restaurant before. The katsu itself was really all panko. The chicken had been pounded so thin it comprised just a narrow layer within the crust. Then there’s the tempura. Normally, a bowl of dashi, mirin and soy accompanies the dish for dipping the tempura. This was not included. The tempura veggies were fine but the two pieces of shrimp were not shrimp so much as a trick of the eye. The meat of the shrimp had been surgically removed leaving the tail and a long thin thin slice that had been battered and fried. It contained a suggestion of shrimp but was really just a batter stick. When I finally got the waiter’s attention I asked about the miso and he told me they were out so he’d made the salad extra large. Apparently there had been no time available to let me know in advance. I told him about the lack of a dipping sauce, the weirdness of the katsu sauce and the ridiculously thin shrimp. He apologized and then produced the bill.

Fast pho teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 5604 Portland Ave E, Tacoma

Fast Pho Teriyaki is on my way home, so I made the stop for dinner. I had the chicken katsu and my wife got the beef yakisoba. When I saw the sign for the shop I didn’t really know what to expect… but I was a bit surprised at how clean in the interior was. The owner is very nice and easy to talk to. The food came out fast. I took it to-go, which was a few minute drive from the restaurant. When I opened the katsu, I could tell right away that it was very dry. Tasting it validated my assumption. It was so dry that even with the dipping sauce it was hard to eat. The yakisoba was pretty good. It was actually tasty, but it was definitely on the saltier side. I would never order the katsu again, but I did give them another shot and got the chicken teriyaki. It was also pretty good… it’s hard to mess up chicken teriyaki though. I’d recommend this place to anyone that passes this place on the way home, and wants a quick dinner option. I wouldn’t come here with my family for a sit down meal.

Bulldog Katsu – Menu with Prices – 2010 N Plano Rd #104, Richardson

I had to come here twice to fully experience the food. Bulldog Katsu specializes in Katsu, of course, and by specialize I mean they put all their effort in a couple of dishes. I had the cheese katsu and regular katsu. The cheese katsu was actually ground pork shaped into a little “crate”, fried and then filled with mozzarella. I felt the cheese katsu was a bit heavy. The regular katsu was about an inch thick, which is a lot better than most Japanese restaurants. The panko breading was crispy and fresh, delicate enough to not sting the mouth when taking a bite. Every katsu order with deluxe option comes with an assortment of Japanese “banchan”, like pickled cucumbers, plums, pearl onion, tofu strips, ginger strips, half of a marinated egg, a steamed gyoza, a seaweed salad and a imitation crab salad. The food also comes very quickly, great for lunch during a work day. I wrote more about this place in my blog: http://savordallas.blog/2019/05/10/discover-dallas-bulldog-katsu/

Ono Hawaiian BBQ – Menu with Prices – 8480 N Friant Rd Suite 104, Fresno

My husband and I tried this place for the first time yesterday. It was late afternoon on a Sunday. We were the only people for a good 10minutes then a good dozen more people came rolling through. The girls at the register were pretty cordial. I was thankful it was pretty empty because the seating seems like it would have been pretty tight if it were more busy. The place itself was clean. The atmosphere/the vibe didn’t really feel like I was stepping into Hawaii. It just felt like a typical fast food joint but that’s completely okay. I love the location, everything is new and updated. There’s also tons of other fast food restaurants to try. It’s almost directly across from Woodward park and just down the street from river park. I ordered a plate with 2 entrees, fire chicken and chicken katsu which came with salad and rice. The food took some time to be ready but it was great because it tasted fresh. The portions of rice and salad were huge. The portion of fire chicken was pretty generous. The portion of chicken katsu seemed slightly small. I definitely wasn’t able to eat all the rice or salad. The food was delicious. The chicken Katsu was great, nice and crunchy on the outside and moist and tender on the inside. I enjoyed it dipped in the Katsu sauce. The fire chicken was good but it was pretty spicy and I had to dip it in teriyaki sauce to really get some good flavor going in my mouth. The rice was soft and tender. The salad with the dressing was nice and flavorful. Crisp and crunchy and sweet and tangy. Overall I enjoyed my meal, if I return I will try something else in place of the fire chicken but I will order chicken katsu again. My husband ordered the Hawaiian bbq mix plate. He loved it, he poured teriyaki and Katsu sauce all over it and thoroughly enjoyed his meal. It’s definitley a meat lovers plate. We were satisfied with our experience here. Looking forward to trying some different food items next time.

GO!! GO!! Teriyaki – Menu with Prices – 10430 19th Ave SE Suite 3, Everett

After a weekend of cold weather camping, we were headed home in the late afternoon and both my husband and I were craving teriyaki. We’d tried a lot of teriyaki in the area that was mediocre, so when I saw Go! Go! on the search results, we decided to order ahead. It’s important to note that this restaurant has been renamed and under new ownership and has much better reviews that the old one! My husband ordered his favorite, chicken katsu, and I ordered the beef & chicken teriyaki combo. When we arrived, there were a few patrons in the restaurant. The person working the front (I think may have been the owner) was very efficient and friendly while handling the phone and walk in customers. I noticed how lovely & simple the interior decor was. Very inviting. When it was our turn in line the owner warmly greeted us. I really appreciated the fact that he took the time to ask where we heard of Go! Go! And thanking us for choosing them. (I’m one of those people that really prefers to go to stores and cafes where the owners genuinely appreciate the business and make the experience great.) The food had just been made and smelled delicious – but we were taking it home to eat. The katsu was so perfectly crispy with an out of this world katsu sauce. My husband said it it was better than his favorite katsu he’d had elsewhere – and trust me, that’s a high compliment because my husband is *very* hard to please. My chicken/beef teriyaki combo was bomb; the beef was thin and tender, having been tossed in a heavenly teriyaki sauce that was perfectly seasoned and not too sweet. The chicken teriyaki was very tender and juicy, and being thigh meat something I don’t typically enjoy, I was pleasantly surprised. They loaded up the dish with lots of sticky white rice. In addition, a crisp, fresh side salad with a sweet, creamy dressing was included, as well as a free can of pop. The dinner was a little pricier than average (than other places we’ve eaten for teriyaki), but you get what you pay for here in addition to great, friendly service. We will definitely be back!

Teriyaki Bowl Everett – Menu with Prices – 3625 Broadway, Everett

In the never ending quest for the best chicken katsu in Everett Teriyaki Bowl rated high on my quest. The resturaunt is almost a hidden location. But being next to some well known item shops you may stumble across this place. As you enter the food shop you will be greeted by a maze that only the best of dungeon crawlers will be able to best. After taking the left and right to pass the maze you will be able to walk up to the counter where you can read the item menu and be greeted by the NPC. Be careful not to ask for modifications to the items unless your speech skill is high, since there might be a language barrier. I ordered the chicken katsu and some bubble tea. The bubble tea was made well in the slushy form. It was not to sweet and had a good balance of flavor. But this quest was for chicken katsu and this place has some of the best. It has a crunch factor that is rarely experienced on katsu. All that crunch without being a dry tuff leather chicken piece. The breading was not over cooked so no burnt taste here, also the portion was generous. The salad and rice where standard and good. Definitely worth the fair price this item is sold for to restore your hp for your next battle.

MJS Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 1953 E 4th St, Ontario

This place I found on Yelp while staying at a nearby hotel. It is a little shopping center near Popeyes and Stayer Bros. It’s towards the end of the shopping center and a little hard to spot from the street. We walked into this place and it is a small location. The music playing was low and very soothing. The menu has a variety of different food to choose but we chose to go with the three item combo. Now most three item combos come with small portions but this spot serves you big portions. I got the teriyaki beef, chicken katsu, fried shrimp, spam and steamed rice. The combo comes with a side salad as well and the dressing on it was delicious. The food…OMG so damn delicious!! The teriyaki sauce they use was not too sweet which was perfect because sometimes the sauce can tend to be too sweet. The katsu breading perfect! The shrimp…yummy!! Normally places give you one shrimp, maybe two but this place gave five big shrimp!!! May favorite which is always my favorite is spam so I had to get a side of that with the steamed rice. The other plate we got was the same except pork katsu and teriyaki chicken…bomb. The fried rice was very fluffy. What sold me on this place was the hospitality and the customer service!! They are VERY nice and treated us very well. The lady also made us a complimentary Mango peach iced tea and it was delicious! So refreshing in this heat. PLEASE, PLEASE VISIT THIS PLACE if you have the chance!! You won’t be disappointed.

Wanted Restaurant Menu with Prices 1160 University Ave, Berkeley

Came here with 4 other friends yesterday for iftar (total 5 people). 4 of us ordered the family platter to split and 1 of us ordered a separate order of burger combo. If you do come here with friends or family, the family platter is very very good value. My friend who ordered a separate burger combo was also happy, as he said the burger was also very tasty and filling. I wasn’t expecting much before coming here and wasn’t sure if I was going to be full eating a family platter with 3 other people, especially since we were all basically as hungry as it gets after a long day of fasting in the middle of finals week… ***IT WAS PERFECT!*** All of us were beyond satisfied with everything (which to make 5 starving college students who happen to be very capable eaters happy for iftar I’d imagine is not easy). The owner (probably) took our order and told us there might not be enough rice for a family platter. We asked if he could include fries with whatever rice there was, which he gladly accepted (which turned out to be better than if we had just gotten rice.) Eventually, after a little bit of confusion about whether there were water cups, the owner generously offered to give us bottled water or any drinks we choose on the house for free. Throughout our time there, the owner was so extremely nice and routinely checked up on us and asked if we needed anything. He also offered us dates as he must’ve figured we were breaking our fast. He also later offered us more fries for free. The whole time, he was very nice and there was just a nice, warm, generous atmosphere. So for the family platter, there was rice, salad, fries on the bottom and a good portion of lamb and chicken on the top as well as a good amount of pita bread on the side with two different sauces. (Also, the lamb here is GOOD, it’s not store-bought/pre-cooked or mixed with beef.) And like I said, our friend who ordered separately also really liked the food, so I’m sure that the individual menu items are also very good. Everything was amazing thanks to the two people there. I will definitely be back here many times and I would highly highly recommend this place to anyone, especially those eating with family and/or friends.

L & D Teriyaki Express – Menu with Prices – 1366 3rd Ave, Chula Vista

I was told I needed to try this place so we finally did. We ordered 3 meals and a side of egg rolls. The food is definitely good quality but the taste wasn’t that spot on. The bbq chicken was very good. Grilled perfectly juicy and roasted The bbq beef was more like thin carne asada grilled. A little over cooked for my taste The egg rolls and sweet & sour were good. The katsu was the most disappointing of all. The chicken was cooked more like chicken parm style not very crunchy like L&L. The macaroni was good but misssing something just that extra tang or sweetness that makes it taste great. The katsu sauce was very good as well as the teriyaki sauce. Over all this place is a ma&pa definitely worth checking out but for my taste the quality was there but the taste.

The Original Blue Adobe Grille – Menu with Prices – 144 N Country Club Dr, Mesa

Went for a Saturday night dinner with the family. We had about a 10 minute wait. Once seated we were brought complimentary chips and fire roasted salsa. The salsa is really dark and doesn’t look very appealing, but it was very tasty. We also ordered chicken chowder and guacamole to start. The chicken chowder is probably some of the best I have ever had. Next, entrees. My son ordered lobster tamales (I told him not to order those). Husband ordered salmon tacos (comes with rice and beans) and I ordered a mix and match dinner. My dinner had a pork tamale and a chicken enchilada. Server asked if I wanted red or green sauce or a combo of both. He said the red “was a little spicy”. I like spice so I said both. Here’s where all the trouble started. When my meal arrived, I took a big bite of chicken enchilada and dredged it in the red sauce. Y’all, this was the spiciest sauce EVER! I was coughing and drinking water like a maniac. I literally could not think. My taste buds were unconscious!! This was waaayyyy more than a little spicy. It was inedible! Seriously could not eat after 3 or 4 bites. The lobster tamales were awful (as I knew they would be). The salmon tacos were just ok. The server felt really bad about the sauce and tried to help by bringing sour cream to try to calm my taste buds. He also offered to bring me something else but at that point, I couldn’t taste anything anymore. My son also ordered sopitas for dessert and they were just average as well. Our meal wasn’t 100% awful, but I really don’t have to go back again.

Popeyes Louisiana Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 852 Buenaventura Blvd, Kissimmee

This is my second time purchasing food at this location and this is the second time that my order has been messed up going through drive-thru. The first time I ordered the butterfly shrimp combo, but when I got home it was popcorn shrimp. I called let them know that I did not get what I ordered and was told they were out of butterfly shrimp and they gave me more popcorn shrimp instead. I told them if I had wanted popcorn shrimp I would have ordered it and it would have been nice to know that they were out of it when I ordered it. This time, I asked for the new chicken sandwich combo meal with no pickles on all three meals. Of course there were pickles on all three males and my youngest daughter is allergic to pickles. She was not able to eat her meal. I also ordered a peanut butter banana pie, which did not make it into the bag. I have called the store several times and it has rung until it went busy. There won’t be a third time I’ve been spending my money here.

Seafood Harbor – Menu with Prices – 544 Jefferson Rd, Rochester

Please note: If I made this review literally any time before today, it would have been 4-5 stars. The food really tastes wonderful, the sauces were delicious, and the service was pretty good. Second note: This is my first time ever writing a review, so bear with me. So, my girlfriend and I came here about a week ago to try out a new restaurant since we both like seafood! The first time we went, it was delicious and we really enjoyed ourselves. Today, we decided to go back and try it again! First things first, when we got there, we sat down at our booth and ordered our food. After a few minutes of waiting, my girlfriend picked up her phone that was sitting on the booth, and an ant crawled out from under it. We shrugged it off and pushed it off the table. A few minutes later, we found another ant on the booth. At this point, we had seen two ants at our booth, so we decided to chat with the manager about this sanitary issue. The manager was very understanding and offered to move us immediately to a different table. We moved to a nearby table and waited again for our food. The atmosphere was pleasant, and when we got our food, the sauces and spices were absolutely delicious. Unfortunately, that’s when things started to really go downhill. I ordered the half pound of crab legs and full pound of shrimp. I ate a few shrimp without any problems. But after three or four, I peeled one open and noticed some brown stuff. It turns out it wasn’t properly deveined and, yes, there was some shrimp feces coming out of it. I didn’t want to cause a big scene about it, so I had a couple more and peeled them carefully every time, to make sure that they were definitely clean. Unfortunately, they were not and I found two more that weren’t cleaned properly. My girlfriend called the manager over to chat with her, and after being convinced that it wasn’t just spices and seasoning, she was very apologetic and offered to fetch me a new serving of shrimp, free of charge. I, of course, accepted the offer and was willing to give it one more try. She brought out a new dish of six shrimp for me, made to order, and I thanked her for that. I was excited to finally have some clean shrimp to eat! However, after taking a bite into one, it turned out that they weren’t as clean as they looked at first glance. Yet another couple still weren’t properly deveined and there was, once again, feces in my shrimp. At this point, we talked with the manager again and told her that we weren’t comfortable finishing our food. She understood, and we still tipped our waitress, because she had nothing to do with the sanitary quality of our food. Again, the taste of the sauces and seasonings were very good and the service was fine (hence why I’m giving this review two stars instead of one). These sanitary issues just can’t be overlooked, and my girlfriend and I are both sad to say that we will not be returning.
