Had a wonderful meal last evening at Nonna’s – our first time here (although we have fond memories of Renzo’s and before that the small place on Federal Hwy up near Spanish River, the name of which currently escapes me). Four very different palettes – all very well satiated. Grilled octopus appetizer on a bed of sauteed veggies was beautifully presented and delicious! The pasta fagiole was among the best I’ve enjoyed (that I didn’t prepare myself) – just the right consistency, al dente beans, hint of pancetta, not too salty, garlic, just perfect! The bronzino entree with a side of sauteed spinach was prepared and presented just as you’d want if you’re a bronzino lover (I am). One member of our party enjoy one of the standards – chicken parm with side of penne – again, superb and the marinara had just the right consistency and flavor to support the generous and delicious portion of chicken. Our server was exceptionally friendly and professional and extremely attentive to ensure the special dietary needs of one member of our party were accommodated by the kitchen to the letter. A decent wine and beer list – and call to ahead to ask – I believe I noticed a few tables were enjoying BYOB. Oh – and the chocolate cheesecake, made in-house, we excellent! Very pleasant atmosphere, outstanding value for your dining our dollar, and in a strip center location – unpretentious in every way. Nonna’s Trattoria is now on our short-list rotation for dining out!

Sage & Savory Catering – Menu with Prices – 6325 Arapahoe Rd, Boulder

Sage and Savory truly made our engagement/house warming party amazing. Our friends are still talking about the delicious and impressive food! And her prices were very affordable. Sue planned an excellent menu that perfectly fit our price range. There was a wide variety of gourmet dishes expertly planned to accommodate many different dietary needs. Sue and her partner were on top of every detail, making sure the food was beautifully presented and continually stocked. They really went the extra mile in cleaning up our kitchen and party areas so well that you wouldn’t know we had had a party. For a while, my fiancé and I were so busy talking with guests that we forgot to eat! When I went to finally get food, Sue had stashed some away in the fridge so that my fiancé and I had plenty to eat and leftovers as well. Sue is a great cook and caterer. I would hire her any day.

State & Fig – Menu with Prices – 1114 State St #18, Santa Barbara

My friends and I had a bachelorette weekend ahead of us and the bride requested state & fig. I called in advance to make a reservation as we were a party of 8 but was told they do not take any reservations. The day of, I thought to call on our way to put our name down on the waiting list and was informed they cant do that but instead suggested I make a reservation, as it was a large party. I was extremely frustrated because they had just told me a few days before that they do not take reservations. I explained the situation and they quickly accommodated us. It was such a beautiful ambiance and service was amazing. Our server Tracey was so great and extremely friendly. She made our celebration that much better. Our party was really happy about the food and bottomless mimosas. I would definitely recommend the tomato Panini! Though it was a rough start, I will definitely be returning here when I am in the area!

Ostioneria Bahia – Menu with Prices – 4429 E Chapman Ave, Orange

Its unbelievable that every single person I encountered at this restaurant was extremely rude. About 15 minutes after checking in with the hostess we asked her how long the wait for our party was. Instead of responding with “I’m not quite sure” or “let me check” she said with a serious face “If I had a table for 8 I would’ve seated you already” Are you kidding me? This is how this place is training their employees to respond to their customers? Unbelievable. Moving on to our waitress, she wouldn’t even make eye contact with us while we placed our order and kept cutting off every member of our party in the middle of ordering. A member of my party ordered the mixed fajitas but asked for the steak to be on a separate plate and our waitress responded with “the kitchen wouldn’t want to do that because it’s going to back them up” How in the world is a two second delay of moving the meat onto a separate plate backtrack the WHOLE kitchen? To top it off somebody else in the party ordered a carne asada salad. It took over 15 minutes after we had received our food for the salad to come out. To end this all, after the 30 minutes of waiting for the food, one member of the party ordered TWO enchiladas, and that took another 15 minutes. 45 minutes for TWO cheese enchiladas. Terrible service all around and I really hope they control their employees the amount of disrespect today by each employee was unbelievable. If it wasn’t for the actual food itself being good, I would make sure people knew how terrible the restaurant was and for nobody to come here.

Nadia’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 127 Broadway, Kissimmee

Went to Nadias on Wednesday afternoon for lunch. There was a pretty decent amount of people, but we were well tended to. We were a table of 5 and our orders were quickly taken however 3 people in my party ordered ginger ale, the waitress said there was only 2 left so attempted to substitute with something. The watered was tap, without any ice and was tepid. While 4 people in my party got there meals I waited an additional 10 minutes for mine which was just a gyro on a pita. A member of our party found hair in her vegetarian platter, which was unfortunate, but they quickly made the order again. I was not pleased with that, but the food was good and a decent price. I don’t think I would visit again though.

VeGreen Vegetarian Fusion Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 3780 Old Norcross Rd #106, Duluth

If you think this is your run of the mill vegan meat substitute restaurant, you are mistaken! This is a real restaurant with very real, delicious vegan food. We visited for lunch. Parking is ample. The restaurant is very clean and modern. They have a beautiful mural on the back wall that fits well with the atmosphere of the restaurant. Our original server was good, but one of our guests that was gluten free and made a special request for a sauce and the server advised that it could not be accommodated. She did however answer questions that we had about the menu. The manager was also walking around greeting tables, so we asked if the sauce request could be accommodated and he indicated that it would be no problem. We ordered the set lunch portions of -Sesame Chicken ($8.50) -General Tso’s Chicken ($8.50) -Pad Thai ($8.50) The food is excellent. Each plate was served with soup and spring roll. I chose seaweed soup which was flavorful, but light. The vegan meat that is used has the texture and consistency of chicken. The taste is almost spot on with chicken, and even though you may have your suspicion that it isn’t chicken, it still tastes absolutely delicious. After leaving I was so surprised at how light and energized I felt as compared to eating traditional non vegan versions of the same.

La Rosa Bakery – Menu with Prices – 1742 University Ave, Green Bay

My cousins came here to buy the cake for my niece’s First Birthday party. First of all the cake was overpriced than other bakeries. When we went to pick it up they took like 20 min to take the cake out. The design of the cake was way off and had not even finished it. They were missing a letter on the cake of her name and didn’t even let us know. When we brought that up she said that it was missing a letter because there was not enough room on the cake. They got the color and design of the cake wrong from what they originally wanted. They tried to fix it but just made it a mess on the cake. And when we asked if they could do something about it like get part of the money back or some type of store credit. She said no. And when we would let her know about what was missing or wrong with the cake she would look annoyed by that. So heads up. Worse experience and the sad part is that we got a messed up cake a little girls 1st Birthday party.

5 Star Korean BBQ – Menu with Prices – 605 E Washington Ave, Madison

The manager of the establishment accommodated a large group of 16 people for a farewell party. Some grilled food on the table and a good number also ordered from the kitchen. I wanted The grilling experience as our friends from Korea highly recommended it. It was fun to do but I have always been a fan of the marinade for Korean bulgogi BBQ. The grilled meat was rather plane without seasoning. But that is tradition. There were sauces to dip into.

Fuego 360° – Menu with Prices – 131 N McKinley St, Corona

Worst food!!! Terrible service!!! Employees with no manners. Restaurant closes at 9pm and they were cleaning the kitchen at 7:30pm, mopping the floors in the dining area while we were eating at 8pm. Walked out and saw two cars waiting for the two employees working there so apparently the rush to close was because their ride was waiting. Stay away from this place. I’ve had better chicken at road side joint in LA, let alone a decent place that specializes in rotisserie chicken. Chicken tasted like it was sitting in the oven for a while. Stay away from this place. I’m surprised at other reviews that are giving this place raving reviews. This place is a joke.

Rosarito Grill – Menu with Prices – 19415 Soledad Canyon Rd, Canyon Country

This place is such a gem! It’s a Peruvian and Mexican restaurant with a decent amount of seating. It looks small from the outside, but can definitely accommodate a crowd. From all the times I’ve stopped by, it seems like this is a mama papa type of shop – which is always a plus! I have never been disappointed by the food here. My favorite thing to get is their Chicken Chimichanga. The shredded chicken it comes with is delicious! It’s superr soft and has the melt in your mouth type of feel. Also comes with guac, pico, and sour cream on the side. It’s a decent portion and quality is worth the price (maybe even exceeds it a bit). This place is definitely on my list of top Mexican food places in SCV. Give them a try next time you catch yourself craving some Mexican or Peruvian or just feel like trying out a new place!

KO’OX HANA’ – Menu with Prices – 214 Augusta Ave, Toronto

Ko’ox Hana is a great place to get some cheap, filling, tasty eats. They have an option where you can choose 3 items for $9.99. Some of these items include tamales, panuchos, salbutes, tacos (cochinita pibil), or some undefined vegetarian dishes. I got two salbutes and a taco. According to the menu, those are slightly sauteed tortillas covered in shredded chicken or achiote grilled pork, along with the “perfect garnish”. Slightly sauteed actually seemed more fried than sauteed, but I actually preferred it fried to slightly sauteed. I actually wasn’t asked whether I wanted the chicken or the pork and I didn’t realize until they put the chicken option down. I actually wanted the pork. I should have asked. For those of you who were wondering, the perfect garnish included was lettuce, pickled onions, avocado slices, and queso. My avocado was had some brown spots, but other than that and the chicken thing, these were very tasty, and at $10, very good. No tamales this time, but I’m excited to try a lot more next time.

Roasters Coffee & Tea Menu with Prices 3429 S Soncy Rd, Amarillo

This is absolutely the place to go if you want consistently good coffee and/or tea! Every single person who has helped me has gone out of their way to be friendly and as helpful as they can possibly be. Their managers and staff work hard to ensure that any problems that you encounter are handled in a timely manner and to your best benefit! I have been to other “coffee/tea” shops, and I can promise that Roaster’s offerings outshine the others in consistency and awesome flavor, (if flavored drinks are your thing!) Their roasted coffees are always spot on with very little, if any, variation in color, texture, and flavor! This is one local place that you can call your personal hangout, and be proud to do it!!

Primavera Pizzeria and Grill – Menu with Prices – 570 Celebrate Virginia Pkwy #145, Fredericksburg

Decided to stop in on a Saturday, around lunch time to give this newer Italian eatery a try. Upon entering, it’s a huge, cavernous dining room with tables/chairs around the outer walls and basically bare in the middle and the middle is huge! The ceiling isn’t finished, so the roof trusses are exposed and really high, which give it more of a loud echo, which doesn’t make it too cozy & comfy inside. You order at a counter and they give you a number for your table and bring the food out once prepared. Service was friendly. We tried a Buffalo Chicken Sub and a Meatball Sub. The Meatball Sub was impressively delicious and it seemed fresh. The Buffalo Chicken Sub was made with fried chicken that was cut up, like they were fried nuggets or tenders, rather than fresh chicken grilled on flat-top or sautéed and then put together with a spicy Buffalo sauce. The sauce was non-existent on it and it had no spicy nor buffalo flavoring. The fries that came as a side were barely warm, definitely not hot. They don’t have ketchup bottles or a large pump, they use those little ketchup packets. The overall feel is just odd, as it seems like a massive dining hall with no personality. No pictures on the bare walls. Overall, I might come back to try the pizza, because it looked amazing, but I wasn’t impressed otherwise.
