If you’re in the mood for oysters and have some moolah to splurge, this is the place for you! We were only mildly balling out so, from the impressive menu of locally sourced oysters, we only tried the Pacifics and the Virginicas. These were some FAT oysters, y’all: fresh, meaty, and splurp-a-licious. Apparently they were even fatter than the Fat Bastard oysters (ironic). Oysters aside, everything else was pretty mediocre for the price point. The oyster po boy was too bready and batter-y but the fries were good, the clam chowder was on the thinner side but had a nice kick to it, the daiquiri cocktail was too sweet but was pretty strong. Our server also seemed a bit frazzled that night, forgetting our orders a couple of times and charging us for a side dish that we didn’t end up getting. Nice lady though. Maybe I’ll come back exclusively for the oysters, maybe I won’t. Or maybe I’ll just head to one of their other locations on this side of Lake Washington. There are just so many other food options when visiting Bellevue and so many other seafood options all around town!

The Fire Crab – Menu with Prices – 8335 Garden Grove Blvd, Garden Grove

My man & I was here lastnight to try a new seafood joint. & by the reviews we were kinda excited about trying this spot, as we walked in it seemed like a slow night. We started off by ordering a dozen of oysters since we have been craving it & because it’s oyster season. When we got the oysters they looked spoiled/un edible for sure. As you can see in the pictures I posted with this review. I’ll be posting the video as well since it’s more clear. When we got the attention of the server & let him know, he just replied “all our oysters are like that & it’s normal.” So we just let it go, & ate around 2 pieces each but we spit it back out. So we spent around $24 for a dozen of oysters. You can obviously tell it’s not edible! We have very much knowledge when it comes to oysters & this wasn’t it. Though we should’ve complained more about it, we just let it go. Also he was too busy hanging with his buddies that were already there taking shots of sakes. He never came to our table to check on us unless we waved him down. He was the only server on the floor. Seemed somewhat buzzed. & idk if he’s allowed to be drinking on the job especially when you the only server? Anyway down to our seafood boil, it was whatever. Wasn’t much sauce & didn’t really have flavor. The only highlight of the night was their spicy garlic edamame, & cajun fries. Those were pretty good. That’s about it. & when I got home my stomach wasn’t sitting to well. Very disappointing experience overall. We will not be returning.

Joe Sent Me – Menu with Prices – 2388 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge

Has the pleasure of meeting a few colleagues here last night for drinks and a quick bite. This place has a nice relaxed vibe to it and a convenient Mass Ave location. Our server was nice but constantly dropped the ball by forgetting drinks and forgetting to put in an order of nachos for the table. When we finally got the nachos they were unimpressive and down right soggy. Some of us ended up eating the sopping mess with forks. I’d like to think I caught this place on a bad night. The two servers seemed pretty overwhelmed and the place was pretty busy. Will I be back? Of course this is a cool little neighborhood joint although next time I’ll sit at the bar and stick with the draft menu.

Bayou Daiquiris – Menu with Prices – 7215 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie

Came with a friend after fireworks nearby the 3rd of July to let the traffic die down some. On the northeast corner of Veterans and where David drive and Power drive collide, in a small strip with a smoothie king and a beauty shop, this small corner shop is a cool place to sit for a bit and have an adult beverage or two. Many frozen daiquiris to choose from, and various sizes to include by the gallon and you can go thru the drive thru, which is cool. The server was friendly enough. They have karaoke on the weekend evenings. One pool table and a juke box are the entertainment all other times. The cost is equal to other places in the area. I was pretty let down that they shut down at 11 on the 3rd of July, but it was a week night this year. I got the gator bite and it did have a bite. My friend got the strawberry daiquiri and enjoyed it. There is plenty of parking. The front entrance does have 3 steps up, but there is a handicap ramp on the side. If I am in the area again, I will be back! Great little daiquiri shop.

The Ready Room Cocktail Bar Menu with Prices 200 S Janney St, Baltimore

This is quite the place! The Ready Room is located inside of Old Line Distillery and as of this writing, open Fridays and Saturdays. Whether sitting at the bar or at their super comfy couches, it’s very inviting to stay awhile. Drinks – Old Line specializes in two spirits: rum and whiskey. Don’t be fooled; they have varieties of those two options in terms of aging and blending process for a grand total of five products. When I went, $15 got us a flight of every spirit they produce – and they don’t skimp! I thought it would be a little 1/2 oz tasting, but this was just shy of a full shot each, so I ended up sharing with my companions. Speaking of flights, they also offer flights by style. For example, if you are more of a rum person, they have a flight of their rums as well as some from other local distilleries. Ditto for the whiskeys. A nice touch promoting competitors in the spirit of… well, spirits! The cocktails were great. I got a daiquiri – a proper daiquiri with lime and rum. Not to hate on a spiked strawberry smoothie, but this is the OG daiquiri (and the better one, IMHO). I also split the Liberty Risk, made with their Navy Strength cask rum, with my companions. They limit you to one because it is STRONG. Suffice it to say I ended up staying a little longer than originally planned. Overall, they have six regular cocktails and one or two specials. They also offer a couple of local beers on tap, but we came for the spirits. If you enjoyed the cocktails, they sell the Old Line spirits as well as some bar tools so you can try your hand at home. The prices aren’t too bad for what it is and service is fast and friendly. I look forward to coming back!

Daiquiri With A Twist Menu with Prices 5730 SW Green Oaks Blvd, Arlington

Before I begin, I must say the entire concept of this place is a little weird. Is it a “to go” daiquiri place that also has a restaurant? Is it a bar? Is it a restaurant? Who knows, but I like it. First, the customer service is great, which if you’ve ever read my reviews, you know is the most important part of any business to me. The lady behind the counter took her time to explain the concept, options, and give us ample samples. Second, the daiquiris are tasty!! While I’m not sure about the food because I haven’t tried any of it yet, the daiquiris are certainly tasty. They have so many options, and you can always add more alcohol, which I recommend. After all, I think it was only like a buck or something. Do it! Third, while this concept is new, I would definitely recommend checking this place out. If your friends are anything like mine, everyone loves a good daiquiri, and you can get a gallon (yes, I said gallon) of the stuff here. Oh, and get a sweet potato pie because they are freaking awesome, and girlfriend approved. I applauded any new restaurant or bar concept, and this somehow does both. Check. This. Place. Out.

Old Line Spirits Menu with Prices 200 S Janney St, Baltimore

This is quite the place! They run tours all day Saturday but they also have their “Ready Room” available on Friday evenings. I wish they were open other days (the bartender explained that it is difficult for their operation to be open on Sundays but they have looked into it). The inside is industrial-chic. Like many swanky businesses in Baltimore, it makes use of an old factory but they’ve somehow made it warm and inviting. Seriously, where did they find those super comfy couches?! Drinks – Old Line specializes in two spirits: rum and whiskey. Don’t be fooled; they have varieties of those two options in terms of aging and blending process for a grand total of five products. When I went, $15 got us a flight of every spirit they produce – and they don’t skimp! They also offer a couple of local beers on tap, but we came for the spirits. They sell all of their spirits on site as well as some bar tool knick knacks; I walked out with a bottle of their Single Malt whiskey. The prices aren’t too bad for what it is and service is fast and friendly. I look forward to coming back!

Raw Bar by Slapfish – Menu with Prices – 19694 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach

Came here for the happy hour of course and left with not really thinking I’m going to come back. The happy hour menu and price changes every 30 minutes starting at 4pm until 6pm. We came at 4pm so everything was $4 on the happy hour menu. The service here was below average, their was only one server running around and when the restaurant started to get a little filled up, you could see her getting stressed out. Food would come out at random times, we ordered a lobster toast that we had to continue asking about and ended up asking for the check before our toast even came out. For the food, we got 2 lobster toasts, 2 fish and chips, 8 oysters, and the steamed clams. The lobster toast was basically a slice of bread toasted with lobster meat, delicious and in my opinion the most fairly priced item. The meat was seasoned perfectly with a nice sauce as well. The fish and chips were pretty good, the fries were a nice fry but the beer battered fish stole the show. Each order comes with 1 fish and a small handful of fries so I’m not sure if $4 is worth it for this item. The oysters were highly disappointing, orders come in 4 and when we got there they were offering F.P. And Paradise oysters. Both were very milky, and not oysters I would want again. The clams were not apart of happy hour but we got them anyway, they aren’t very big but you do get a lot. They were decent, cooked in white wine with garlic and fennel. Not something I would get again. Overall the $4 happy hour is a smart idea but the dishes are quite small so to really fill up, you gotta spend a lot more than you would think.

Daiquiri Place – Menu with Prices – 3707 General De Gaulle Dr, New Orleans

The Tulane & Broad daiquiri is lethal! That drink is truly for the very responsible. This place can mix the best daiquiris to “get ya mind right”. You can locate this place right behind the Chuckie Cheese on General DeGaulle. I really like to check out smaller, independent daiquiri shops. This location is cash only and its is located in a divey strip mall but I’ve always received great customer service and the mixed daiquiri concoctions are miracle workers on your current disposition. The inside is run down but it is clean and it has TVs on the wall. This seems to be a gathering spot for people to play pool and have just have a drink after a long day. Ample parking is available.

Bridgetown Brew & Grill – Menu with Prices – 4313 Harrison Ave, Cincinnati

This is the divey-est of dive bars which makes it amazing. We kinda wandered in because it was close, other than that I don’t know that I ever would have went in other than just to write a Yelp review and say that I’ve been there. There’s really nothing special about the bar. Friendly bartender that poured a nice strong drink for inexpensive, they had a medium size selection of liquor but it would be everything that you need to have a good night. 5 of us wandered in that night and took over the one side of the bar and there was an older couple, in their 60s sitting at the corner of the bar. I don’t know if it was because we were 1/2 their age that they were listening in or that our conversation was just that interesting they started talking to us. They were great, just a nice couple hanging out at the bar for a night out. I hope when I’m 60 I can still hang like that if my liver holds up. So if you’re looking for a great starting point or ending point of your night and you’re on the westside stop in. This seems like the place where something interesting and memorable will happen!

The Tatarian – Menu with Prices – 4024 Tennyson St, Denver

Okay…. this place is a hidden gem. Came here for a double date night! It was a Monday night, but we were super surprised to be the only couples in there at 8pm! So I must say I started out a bit skeptical… But then, our server came over & presented the menus. The menus themselves are like works of art. Each cocktail gets its own page, and is named for and compared to a type of tree… all the cocktails are super unique sounding and creative. Our server was also super knowledgeable on the flavor notes of each of the drinks and was able to make recommendations based on which types of flavors we generally like/go for. We were definitely excited to experience the flavors… And then we got our cocktails. And were blown away. I tried a gin drink first, which tasted not too sweet or tart, but just right down the middle… the way I like it. My husband tried their spin on a tiki drink and was in love. Our friends tried a fruity vodka cocktail and a smokey whiskey cocktail – loved them both. We loved our drinks so much, we ordered a 2nd round… which was maybe not the best idea because I had to wake up at 5:30am the next morning… but WORTH IT. Not sure why this place was so empty, because it deserves to be full every night! But we felt lucky because we got the best service and the best cocktails around! Try this place out!

Mikuni Seafood & Sushi Buffet – Menu with Prices – 22901 Hawthorne Blvd, Torrance

I’m 79 years old, a retired MD. My wife and I have a lunch hear twice a week. We like their taste. Unlike typical commercial Chinese foods, Mikuni provides home style foods and taste (not salty, nor greasy). I sometimes call my old friends and have a little lunch-on party. Sometime back, a lady wrote here that she got poisoned by eating raw oysters. My guess is that she was not accustomed to eat raw oysters. I eat raw oysters here at all times, but never got sick, because Mikuni’s oysters are always fresh. She wrote she got sick by eating only one oyster. My guess is that she probably ate more than 3 to 4. It is common that an average person will get diarrhea within 3 to 4 hours after eating raw oysters, if he (or she) eat more than 3 raw oysters with empty stomach.

Lure Fish House – Menu with Prices – 3815 State St Suite G131, Santa Barbara

Came on a Sunday to catch a football game and basically their all day happy hour. Tons of good shareable appetizers, and full bar. Customer service has always been above par here. We ordered a cup of chowder, the calamari, jumbo shrimp. 8 raw oysters, the charbroiled oysters, and for dessert, the blueberry cobbler. Up first, the cup of chowder. It was a bit different as it had some spice to it. Not spicy in any means but different and was not expecting that in first sip. Also, It had one fancy crouton in it (prob could have asked for more) but nonetheless, still good. I do prefer brophys clam chowder in town still. Next, the calamari. It was a pretty large appetizer, great for sharing. They also fry some jalapenos and red bell peppers, served with 2 different dipping sauces,I think one was a chipotle aioli and the other was some sort of wine reduction sauce, both were really good. The jumbo shrimp was just that. JUMBO. It was served over fries with a side of cocktail sauce and ketchup. Considering the calamari had two excellent housemade sauces, I was hoping for more than cocktail sauce for the shrimp, but it was just OK for me. We ordered 8 raw oysters, 4 of el chignon and the other was kumai, both were tasty. But I preferred the el chignon flavor. Very fresh. The charbroiled oysters took the spotlight for us. The garlic butter topping is to die for, and will order my own plate next time. Considering it was a cheat day for me, I went all out and got the blueberry cobbler with McConnells vanilla ice cream, it hit THEE spot and I was donezo. I am adding that to an order 1 for myself menu along with the charbroiled oysters. All in all, super tasty seafood spot, will be back again.
