My first time patronizing this restaurant was in early November and was at the recommendation of my coworker who is a native of the city. For those of you who have not been yet, keep in mind that this is a takeout only establishment. If you go during peak lunch hour you will encounter an influx of people as well as a pretty lengthy wait time. Seating to wait for your order(s) is available. From what I’ve gathered, Rhythms is a pretty popular spot on Sistrunk and rightfully so. I’ve been there twice now and during those times I have encountered the pleasant staff and owners. Despite the time that it took for my group to get our food on both occasions, the person at the counter always maintained communication with us in regards to what was coming out, in progress, etc. With that said, the food has always been fresh, hot, and finger-licking good! So far I’ve only tried the 7 honey garlic wings, 7 fried shrimp, seafood rice, and salad but I have been pleased each time. I’ve also had a cup of their chicken souse which I liked as well. Everything looks so good and it is my intent to try almost everything on their menu. The only reason that I did not give the 5 stars is due to wait time. I am hopefully that sometime in the near future I’ll be able to modify this review.

Bawk Bawk Chicken Truck – Menu with Prices – 62 St Johns Bluff Rd N, Jacksonville

I guess Bawk Bawk used to be Chunky’s Wings and Things, if you take a good look at the food trailer, you will still see the faded lines of the old name. Regardless, the wings from truck is banging. The first time they came to my workplace I got the 10 piece wings with the spicy honey sauce on the side. The second time I got the 5 piece wings with the garlic Parmesan sauce drizzled over. These wings were hot and fresh; very crispy on the outside and juicy, perfectly cooked on the inside. The breading on the wings itself is good on it’s own without any of the sauces, even though it’s a bit salty for me. I think the sauces help balance that out. The garlic Parmesan was okay, but the spicy honey was indeed pretty spicy! But it was really good. I do want to eventually try their other sauces. All food is made to order, and depending on how many people are front of you the wait time can vary. I spent my whole half hour lunch break waiting for my order the first time, but the second time the wait was only ten minutes since I was the third person in line. But it was worth the wait as everything was freshly prepared. Ther are some other options as well, such as fried shrimp, salmon or oysters, cheese sticks and crab balls. There are platters as well that comes with a side of fries. Service is alright, not bad but not friendly. Just meh. But it doesn’t bother my much since the wings are very good. The prices are pretty reasonable as well especially for lunch. I would have them regularly as they are at my workplace every week… good for them, bad for my waistline.

The Golden Rooster Restaurant Menu with Prices 7001 Crestwood Blvd #1012, Birmingham

Pretty unassuming location in a strip, I saw this listed on Waitr and decided to not be lazy and grab it myself. I ordered cajun wings, honey hot wings and a shrimp combo. Cajun Wings – 4/5 The cajun wings had a nice crisp to them, a little harder than I personally cook in a wing but I like mine a little softer than most folks, so no points down for that. The chicken itself was still tender under the skin, and had clearly been cooked to order. I feel like they could have been a little spicier, but at the same time the flavors were definitely there. Honey Hot Wings – 5/5 Same cook to the wing as above. The sauce is really nice, kind of like a sweet Tabasco or Frank’s Red Hot. Whether it was premade or a house blend, the sauce had that peppery quality to it that I love in a hot sauce but lacked that sour, overly-vinegared bite that I despise in them while still retaining a little tang. Very good! Shrimp – 5/5 The shrimp was freshly fried up, and I was pleased to note that the breading was light and crispy, the shrimp not overwhelmed, and it was done perfectly – I hate overly greasy fried foods, and this was not only great, but the oil was clearly clean, not old and overused, so there were no unwanted aftertastes. The fries that came with them were a little limp, but they were cooked through and had a nice seasoned salt on them. BONUS – I was unaware my shrimp came with a drink and chose peach tea on the spot – it was sort of a neon orange color which gave me some pause, but whatever it is is nice, and not overly sweet. Overall, great little spot. I’m only sad that I’m moving to Hoover next month and won’t have as easy access.

L&L Hawaiian Barbecue – Menu with Prices – 854 S Boulder Hwy, Henderson

We have not been here for awhile but were in the mood for L&L this evening. I usually get the garlic shrimp and broccoli which I tried again tonight, along with a side of their mac salad. We also got the shrimp curry with rice. The shrimp in both entrees was the same, the difference was what they put on top. In the past the shrimp (plenty of them) were stir dried with the garlic and the broccoli all at once and was very tasty. Tonight we got the shrimp which was breaded (not my liking) with barely cooked garlic spooned on top. The broccoli was steamed I guess and sitting on the side where the garlic never touched it. This was a big let down! I really wanted that shrimpy-garlicy-broccoli goodness we used to get at L&L. As for the curry it smelled like curry. The shrimp the same battered and fried as in the meal described previously but the curry just poured on top. It was OK tasting? But not our idea of curry and it was rather bland. As for the mac salad, the noodles were mooshy and the taste bland. Something has changed in how they make it, clearly not the mac-salad we have come to know and like at L&L. We did not get our other usuals but based on the two we got tonight I am a bit hesitant to go back. I suppose we will give them a go again and order the chicken instead. We have liked L&L over the past 12 years or so that we have been going, tonight was a disappointment tho. It is till nice and clean inside, and the wait staff friendly so that has not changed. I feel bad giving them 3 stars.

WING STATION – Menu with Prices – 619 S Pine Ave, Ocala

This is the second time we’ve gotten takeout from here and really liked it. The first time we got 10 garlic Parmesan wings and the shrimp boil with Cajun seasoning. The wings were good, a little small, but cooked well and we really liked the seasoning. The shrimp boil was very good and a good value, 25 medium sized shrimp cooked perfectly with potatoes, corn and a small piece of sausage for $12.99. This time we got the special party seafood boil and the 4-Piece catfish dinner. Again, I think they have good value for what you get. The seafood boil easily fed 2 people with 1 snow crab cluster,10 medium shrimp, 10 crawfish, potatoes and corn. It also listed sausage but we didn’t get any of that and I think there should have been 2 corn on the cobs for such a big serving of everything else. The fried catfish was also a really good value, 4 huge pieces of fish and french fries for $10.99. Give them a try.

Kotta Japanese Grill – Menu with Prices – 2862 Reynolda Rd, Winston-Salem

I was really disappointed in this place. I may have come on a wrong night? I don’t know. We got two orders one with chicken, shrimp, fried rice, broccoli, and carrots. The other was filet, shrimp, fried rice, broccoli, and carrots. Now the meat was delicious, but there was barely any meat at all. Their sauce also was very good, and I typically don’t like sauces. Now the carrots were awful, it was like they accidentally dumped a pound of sugar on 5 slices of carrots, I could only eat two. Also, the rice was the same situation but instead of sugar they must have dumped pounds of garlic onto the rice. I never waste food, but I just could not eat this. I also love garlic, but that was disgusting, I couldn’t even taste the rice, it was just pure garlic. Neither of us were satisfied or could finish our meal. We definitely will NOT be returning. $30 for 6 pieces of small meat, no thanks.

Wings Over Syracuse – Menu with Prices – 315 Nottingham Rd, Syracuse

We ordered delivery from this place last night for our guests & we were very pleased, especially that it came on time! (A plus in my books!). The best part was that the food did not need to be heated up! The containers they used kept the food warm!! We ordered two different types of the boneless chicken wings ( mango habanero & honey BBQ), with a side of fries. We were very pleased that the fries weren’t soggy! The honey habanero wings were really spicy and had an after burn for a few minutes and we loved it! They provided us with a bunch of blue cheese on the side, which def helped cool down. We will most definitely order from here again!

The green lounge Hot Wings – Menu with Prices – 13175 Jefferson Ave, Newport News

Never judge a restaurant by its location. Hot Wings is a gem smack dab in the middle of a strip mall. If you’re looking for ambiance, this ain’t the place. BUT, if you’re looking for some damn good wings, this place is winner winner chicken dinner….sorry, had to do it. With over 40 varieties to choose from, these are amazing!! My hubby and I got 20 wings (honey bbq and spicy garlic herb) plus fries and 2 bottled waters for $20. The wings were very well seasoned and cooked to perfection! We were both pleasantly surprised. The fries are ok…wish we had gotten the Cajun fries. They have an extensive Vietnamese menu as well as fish and shrimp dinners. While you’re waiting for your food, you can also have a key made-random, but whatever.. Bottom line, Hot Wings is THE place for wings….go get you some!!!

Tang’s Chicken – Menu with Prices – 2001 Gulf to Bay Blvd # C, Clearwater

Wow. I hadn’t ever heard of this place but a coworker of mine made a mention and a recommendation so I figured I’d look it up. I was a but apprehensive after looking at the star rating, but I made the decision to try it anyways. I ordered the 4piece Party wings + 3 Whole wings + Shrimp fried rice for $8.49. I wish I took a picture of it but I was too hungry to even think about that. Juicy, crunchy wings and fairly OK fried rice, but man the bang-for-the-value here was extraordinary. I would highly recommend this place to anyone looking for a good place for chicken! P.s. I also got their fried dumplings and they’re literally better than the ones from my usual Chinese place.

Boom Boom Chicken NEWARK – Menu with Prices – 160 University Ave, Newark

Good place to get some quick Korean inspired fried chicken. Food: The wings were actually great, I loved the soy garlic wings. Crispy and delicious! The spicy ones were not as spicy as I expected but still super good for what you’re paying. I wish the food came with fries instead of rice or salad but it was good regardless. Price: Wings Combo w/ green salad on the side: $12.00 Vibe: I went at night during the week and the place was emppppppty! It was nice tho to have the place to myself to just sit, eat, and relax. There’s various tables where you can sit and relax.

Hot Wings Express – Menu with Prices – 3366 Buena Vista Rd, Columbus

Best service. Best wings in town. Always remembers a face and just how you like your food. Great menu besides wings. Stop in and you will be guaranteed a great dining experience.I like Hot Wings Express. It was the first Hot Wings takeout that I tried years ago. I was not happy to know that this location does not serve honey hot or honey mild or honey gold flavored wings. All in all they were true to the food flavor.

Louisiana Crab Shack Menu with Prices 3208 Guadalupe St, Austin

My wife was reluctant to go check out the Louisiana Crab Shack. Always listen to your lovely wife. * * * At a Cajun seafood place, you care primarily about the steamed seafood in a bag with cajun spices and the fried seafood. I am on a health kick, so I had my fried shrimp on top of a salad. I also had gumbo to check for Louisiana bona fides. The love of my life had salmon with a cajun topping. * * * Poetic justice ruled. My wife had the best dish of the three. Her salmon was good on its own and had a savory not-at-all spicy sauce on top heavy on onions and cooked down vegetables. She gave a big thumbs up. I did not do as well. The gumbo was okay. The fried shrimp on my salad began to leave a bad taste in my mouth after about the sixth shrimp. The bad taste persisted for about fifteen minutes after we left the restaurant. The shrimp themselves were normal. No thrills there but no problems either. I think there was something not great involved in the frying. * * * The seafood in a bag may be wonderful. I can’t say. But I get a lot of cajun seafood in College Station. In those places, the bag food is marvelous and so is the frying. This place may settle down over time. I reviewed it when they were only four weeks old. The new waiter was struggling with the computer used for the orders. A new cook may have been struggling with the fryer. * * * I doubt however, I will be going back soon. I will be eating in all the places my wife wants to eat For about the next five hundred years.

Angie’s Fish and Wings – Menu with Prices – 5015 S Sheridan Rd, Tulsa

Had lunch here with a coworker today. This location used to be Sam’s Southern Eatery and while the name has changed, the menu looks very familiar. The building is old and could use some TLC as it is rather run down, but I came for the food not the ambience. I ordered the 3 Fish, 3 Shrimp platter which came with two sides. I opted for half fried, half grilled with fried okra and red beans & rice. My friend ordered a 10 piece BBQ wings with fries and okra. Being lunchtime it was rather busy and our orders came out in about 20 minutes. The portions are very generous as my fish and shrimp came on one plate, while the okra was in a basket of it’s own and the beans and rice in a small bowl. The grilled fish and shrimp was delicious and had a savory seasoning. It was so good I finished that before moving on to the fried portions. The fried….two fillets and 2 huge shrimp. Mmm good. My friends wings also looked great. He was hesitant to come here, but left satisfied. Give this place a try. While the decor is lacking, the food makes up for it……and if that’s not enough, you won’t leave hungry.
