I’ve been here twice back to back over a weekend and both experiences were wonderful. I’m assuming the owner is the guy in the window and he couldn’t be nicer and caring. He’s extremely patient with loud children, even toddlers who keep letting their balloons go. He’s happy to blow up another and personally come out to hand another balloon to them and also chat with them. As for the desserts, be prepared for your eyes to roll back or nonstop smiling in happiness. The mini cakes are delicious and just sweet enough to tease you to get you to eat more. They’re still light but packed full of flavor. I’ve never been able to get their tiramisu as it quickly sells out. I’ve had their tres leches and it’s wonderful. I’ve also had two of their chocolate desserts. When I met my family there and raced about them, they also said they couldn’t believe how wonderful they were. We had the Fragola and Caramelino. The Crocantino was sold out. My sister related them to desserts she’s had in Italy. My husband had the lemon Italian ice. The flavor was so delicious and smooth. First you taste fresh mint and then the lemon. Not super icy, but smooth. It’s a great alternative to sno cones with all the corn syrup flavors. These taste so much better. I’ll have to try their sorbet next and ice pops. This place is now my number 1 spot for desserts. Can’t beat the customer service with the kindness and can’t beat the desserts.

Sorella Gelateria – Menu with Prices – 219 N Limestone, Lexington

Over the summer, I read a book called “Love & Gelato.” It’s about a teenager who lost her mother to cancer and went to live with her unknown father in Italy — there’s a summer romance mixed in there. (I recommend this quick read if that’s your thing, otherwise, feel free to ignore the book recommendation.) Well. After I read the book, I realized it had been a good ten years or so since I last had some gelato — the one and only time I’ve ever had *real* gelato before. And. I absolutely had to get some gelato in my stomach sometime soon. Now, I’ve never had gelato in Italy, but know there is a lot of ‘gelato’ out there (I’ve eaten in the ten years since) that isn’t really gelato at all. To find something real, or as close to real as possible, is kind of hard. Did a quick search online and…. Lexington has a place with gelato!! Later that week, after a visit to the Arboretum, I dragged my husband and toddler to Sorella to cool us off, satisfy my gelato craving, and introduce my husband to gelato. Sorella is a beautiful shop in a fun neighborhood of Lexington. We spoke with the store owner and she mentioned that she (or was it her sister?) learned how to make gelato in Italy and brought that knowledge to this gelateria. Delighted, I sampled a variety of amazing flavors before deciding to get the Forest Berry gelato to share with my son, who was going through a berry phrase at the time. My husband picked a chocolate flavor. Friends, this is *REAL* gelato. The flavorful, light & fluffy, delicious gelato that sets it apart from ice cream and similar desserts. And my son, who didn’t like ice cream (I know, right!?) devoured his portion of my berry gelato. My husband, however, who is set in his ways and loves his chocolate ice cream, liked it but was a bit unsure about the gelato texture. Don’t worry… I’ll work with him on that. LOVE, love, love Sorella!!

Sweetaly Gelato – Menu with Prices – 1527 S 1500 E, Salt Lake City

Discovered this amazing shop a couple years ago when my husband and I sampled some of their gelato at Fest Italia in SLC. I live in Utah County but I come here 2-3 times per month because I love it so much. The owners are a couple from Italy and are so amazing to talk to. I wish I knew their names but the husband told us he went to the university of gelato in Italy (yes, it is real. Look it up if you don’t believe me.) They are both so friendly and I love coming in when they are there. Now, on to the actual gelato. Let me start by saying that I am a chocolate girl. Chocolate desserts are my favorite but here, salted caramel is where it’s at. Their dark chocolate is absolutely incredible but there is just something about the salted caramel that makes it so special. Every flavor I have had is delicious (and trust me, I have had quite a few.) The gelato is so soft and creamy without any crystallization. They even have a chocolate fountain to drizzle chocolate on your gelato for free!

Taqueria el Torito – Menu with Prices – 2515 Freeman Mill Rd suite b, Greensboro

If this was asked of me before i stopped comming here they may have gotten 5 stars. I will no longer come in this place. Me and my family used to go here january to May we ate 3 times a day (everyother day) $35+ a visit. I thinks its the owners daughter or sister they look just alike.. I tell them everytime i go in there she doesnt listen shes too busy speaking spanish talking junk she isnt listening. I get the same thing all the time im in there all the time well i used to be and she still say she doesnt remeber and if she does she messes the order up anyways like my smoothie. Its not that hard to be quiet stop talking junk and make the food. But shes rude. I told her the last time i was in there my family will never be there again if shes still there. I havent went back since and this was almost 2 month ago. Ik our business was just somemore money but ive told everyone ik because that girl is just so rude. Hire people who understand both languages and if they speak spanish make sure there not talking about customers while the customer is inside the store. They’ve lost my business completly.

Taziki’s Mediterranean Cafe – Menu with Prices – 7331 Kenwood Rd, Cincinnati

Came here for dinner with my husband and we’ll be back! The girls working the register were really nice and each person who brought us our food came back a second time to ask how everything was. There is plenty of seating and there is also a bar with beer & wine. The food came out quick and we received our appetizers first and then our entrees, which was great because it’s kind of annoying when everything comes out at once. Since it was our first time here, we ordered all the things! I will say that almost everything has lemon flavor in it, which is great for me because I absolutely loooove lemon. The hummus was creamy and full of flavor. I really liked the taziki dip, which had cucumber and dill. We tried the lemon chicken soup and omg that was SO good! That will definitely be my new go-to! I ordered a grilled lamb gyro. I think it could have used more taziki dip but it was really good! The basmati rice had a lemon flavor so obviously I was into that, lol. My husband ordered the pork loin feast and the pork was a little dry but the salad, asparagus, and potatoes that came with it were all delicious. And it came with a side of tomato chutney sauce that I could not get enough of! We had no room for dessert but next time I’m here I plan to try the baklava!

Solo Caffè – Menu with Prices – Inside the Pensacola Library, 239 N Spring St, Pensacola

The lemon bites have a really nice, strong lemon flavor though the frosting is a bit on the sugary side for my taste. The lavender latte is pretty cool since I’ve never seen that flavor offered anywhere else before, and it has a light flavor that you can taste better if you don’t drink it immediately after consuming something else (lesson learned from personal experience).

Luckhaus & Brubaker Sweets & Treats – Menu with Prices – 1939 Maybank Hwy, Charleston

We just used Luckhaus this past weekend for my mom’s 70th sweets birthday party! While I did the cake and some of the desserts, we also contacted Luckhaus to handle some as well. Setting up an appointment to meet with one of the owners was easy. We appreciated the fact that my sister and I were both coming from out of state/country and were only going to be in town for one day, that she was willing to meet with us on that one Saturday in August. It was comforting to be able to chat about options and thoughts on flavors and ideas that she may have for a fall dessert party. We made our order through e-mail a few weeks in advance for pick up on Saturday. Ordering and pick up by my sister was a breeze. My only gripe…while we don’t necessarily feel entitled to anything free, we did not make a cheap order. On the day of, when my sister went to pick up the sweets, she wanted to try 1 pumpkin macaroon that they had in store that day. She loves pumpkin – which is not easily available in Italy. She was asked if she wanted that one item rung up separately or with the order. I mean really? It is just one of those gestures that would have been nice to say, on the house, thank you for your large order and we hope your mom enjoys her party!

Specialty Cakes – Menu with Prices – 1560 Wabash Ave, Springfield

If you want the best cake for your event, check out Specialty Cakes! They offer so much more than just cake but for our wedding we were looking specifically for cake. Cake tasting is probably the most exciting and anticipated event during the planning process! Specialty Cakes delivered with excellent flavor, presentation, easy process, and wonderful workers! Even though we all wanted to go taste more cake, we knew in the first few bites that we were sold. Who says a wedding cake has to be a boring white and chocolate cake? This place offers so many great options. My husband and I couldnâ??t make up our minds, so our wedding cake included 4 different flavors, White, Lemon, Strawberry, and Banana! They also made us an amazing Rumchata adult sheet cake and a Spice/Red Velvet sheet cake for all of us to enjoy! Our guests were incredibly happy with all of the options and raved about the flavor and design of our cake. We could not be happier with our decision on working with Specialty Cakes, they were tremendous with our whole wedding!

Mount Desert Island Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 3110 Mt Pleasant St NW 1st Floor, Washington

Dang! They really know their ice cream. Every time I swing by here, I’m always very happy with the selection. They always have new flavors and they’re always super unique. The ice creams are very creamy and smooth. You can taste the real fruit in the sorbets. My favorite flavors: Brigadeiro: if you like a smooth chocolate with toffee, you’ll like this one. I like some chocolate with more fruity ice creams and this is my favorite one they have. Blueberry Basil sorbet: I looooved this one. It really does taste like fresh blueberries, and the basil contrasts with the berries to give it a unique twist. Lemon Poppy and Berry Swirl: Lemon is so refreshing on a hot summer day! This one is such a nice combo of lemony tartness and a sweet creamy berry. I also love the texture that the poppy seed add to the creamy ice cream. If you like different textures, this one is worth trying this summer. Real Strawberry: The magic is in the simplicity. No explanation necessary! You can tell they use real strawberries. So yummy. Waffle cone or cup? I’ve tried both. Obviously, the waffle cone is the better option, but if you want to be safe in the hot weather, opt for the cup. Lol I know I did when I wanted three scoops. Oops! Ambiance: it’s a small parlor with lots of light. They have some space inside to sit by the window. You can also sit outside. Service: they’re always really patient and let you try all the flavors you want! Fun fact- you can check the DC location on their website to see what their flavors are right now. Final Verdict: the quality of the ice cream can’t be beat! So glad I discovered this little gem.

Lord of the wings – Menu with Prices – 6436 Pacific Ave, Stockton

*DRUM ROLL PLEASE* …… Soooo let me just put this out there , i absolutely love fried chicken ! i truly do & i love it even more when it’s cooked and fried right . i’m probably the pickiest person when it comes to chicken because it has to have that good crispy crunch on the outside . but when you bite into it , it has that good tender meat on the inside . OF COURSE from the reviews this place comes highly recommended . and it’s always refreshing to see black owned businesses and ones that are reasonably priced . i brought my kids along with me after procrastinating for a few days . i will admit i do love the lemon pepper chicken , it’s actually really good . it has the right amount of lemon pepper seasoning to it as well . i will come back for those for sure . i bought two 10 pieces : bbq , teriyaki , lemon pepper of course and garlic parmesan . BBQ wings : flavor wise it was 8/10 , it was a tad on the spicy side but it’s okay Teriyaki wings : flavor wise 8/10 . Lemon Pepper wings : flavor wise 10/10 Garlic Parmesan wings : flavor wise 7/10 – i wasn’t a big fan of the garlicky after taste . overall the wings were great ! my kids loved them & my husband said they taste like wings he would cook so that’s a huge plus ! i will definitely come back to this one to continue to support . somebody put these people on diners drive ins and dives !!!

Dolce Fantasia – Menu with Prices – 1210 Forest Ave, Staten Island

Dolce Fantasia is located across the street from Walgreens on Forest Ave…the cafe is on the corner with a yellow awning. My husband and I have been driving by the cafe for a couple of months but we made it a point to stop by this Saturday for lunch… What a find! The cafe is quite small but it is big in flavor and heart! Excellent food with engaging and warm owners… Bruna you are lovely! My husband had the creamy mashed potatoes with truffle oil and home made chicken sausage (He loved it!). I had a great sandwich…”La Piadina Parmigiana” with roasted eggplant, ham, sliced tomatoes, Grand Padano cheese and arugula. We shared Profiteroles (1 of each: pistachio, red velvet, Nutella)….everything was so good …! The owners make their own pasta, some of the breads (brioche and croissants) and all the desserts and gelato and they make one of the best (real) lattes I’ve had in a long time! What can I say….it was just a feeling I had when I was in the cafe…it reminded me of when we ran across little family run cafes in Italy with wonderful, homemade, fresh food… Dolce Fantasia just made me very happy… it put a genuine smile on my face We WILL be going back again and again!

Mucha Lucha Taco Shop – Menu with Prices – 1530 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert

Is there new owners or something? My last experience here was just excellent, but man this time was completely different. I guess me and my brother were bugging them ordering our food. The man working couldnt have been more condescending and the women couldnt wait to get to the back. I didn’t even order any food for myself or my son because my wifes order irritated them enough so I said screw it. My brothers wet burrito came out dry and he couldnt really saying about it because they rushed off as soon he paid. Two people were in there when we showed up so it was definitely not busy. Idk what their problems were but it was more then enough for me and my brother to never ever eat at this restaurant again. Also to the women worker, when you roll your eyes try looking away so the customer cant constantly see you doing. Just fyi for the next guy…

Bodegon Del Sur Corporation – Menu with Prices – 26506 Oak Ridge Dr, Spring

My first ever visit to Bodegon Del Sur~simply put, was amazing! My mum and I had never tried any “Argentinian” Empanadas, quiches, pastries & mate. The owner, Señora Liliana Ruocco, is wonderful and through her Husband, Señor Eduardo, doing the translation in English, she provided us with fresh samples of basically all the foods they had!! Any questions asked, was proved and delivered with a sample to taste! What a beautiful touch!! ( I missed this living in the USA !) it’s old world charm and speaking as a non-Hispanic, reminds me off Europe ! Having been in the food industry with my family; I know all about the pros and cons of some food business owners. I must say, The Ruocco’s are very, very, hospitable ,owners, welcoming you into their cozy place and treating their customers with the best attitude,Humility & great Product Knowledge . There was no pushing on, nor, trying to make me purchase their products… ,however their products and all the food they sell, speak for themselves!! The Pastries and Dough, on all their food- Simply ASTOUNDING!! HEAVENLY BLISS!! Definitely worthy of a 5 Star Hotel, Pastry Chef!! Genuis, I must say. I had bought quite a bit of everything and was totally pleased with myself and to top it off, my mum says, as well, that it IS the BEST pastry she’s EVER eaten. ( btw, my sister is a Cordon-Bleu Chef and Señora Lililana’s was better, hahaha!! ) I have since developed a taste of Argentinian Pastries etc. This introduction to the many and various foods and Mate, was through the Ruocco’s. Thank you so much for introducing a new and excellent experience for us. I Highly Recommend this place. The food is delicious & I can imagine it as canapés, antipasti, finger foods or served as mains, for either Coctail parties at home or work or for a formal meal. I can’t wait till my sister the Chef arrives next week and introduce her to the delicious foods! ( my sister has been to Argentina and knows the food, very well) However, as a team, we know a WINNER and we are not ashamed to admit it. Grab your friends and family and speed over to Bodegon Del Sur and get a taste of HEAVENLY BLISS!! I am definitely sold on this place and will be a returning, a satisfied customer. Well Done to Señora Liliana and Señor Eduardo!!! My highest Compliments to the Chef!! Joanne G. (The Woodlands , 77382 )
