This is a terrific concept. All of the traditional Asian food favorites served in vegan style. Surprisingly, there isn’t a wealth of vegan cuisine options in the local Frisco restaurant community. So our Veggie Express deserves a prize for being a reliable and consistent option for those of us with vegan needs. Delicious food is always prepared hot and fresh for you there. There is a lunch buffet or you can order specially from the menu. I haven’t had anything there that wasn’t of the absolute highest quality. I’m always completely satisfied with everything I order. The staff is great! The nice lady (owner I think) who is there regularly at lunch is so warm and welcoming. She greets everyone personally and is sweetly attentive. Hospitality is obviously important to her. The atmosphere is quiet and clean. It’s one of my favorite lunch stops when I have time to sit and enjoy. I highly encourage a visit!

Oh So Good Desserts – Menu with Prices – 25 York St, Ottawa

A great place for both tourists and residents alike, Oh So Good is in the bustling byward market. It has a very nice feel to it and is a personal favorite when I have a sweet tooth. The staff and owner are very nice and always greets you with a smile. With a wide variety of amazing cakes and drinks to choose from, Oh So Good is the perfect place to cool off or to warm up after exploring the heart of Ottawa.

Marché Soupson – Menu with Prices – 80 Rue Jean-Talon O, Montréal

Been coming here since they first opened in their other location. I’m always satisfied! Here you can find a fresh, seasonal soup everyday (each weekday, it’s a different soup and on the weekends, they have chili) as well as light lunch options such as salads, sandwiches and recently some prepared meals. Service is always courteous. I have met the owner and her mother on several occasions and they were very warm and welcoming. The pea soup and cream of mushroom soups are to die for!

Morning Grind Coffee Co – Menu with Prices – 1010 10th St, Modesto

Everyone at our table was very satisfied. The staff was very helpful and welcoming. The prices are fair for the quality of food. Feeling here is similar to a place in Columbus I liked.

Culture Coffee & Tea Bar – Menu with Prices – 1314 Kempsville Rd, Virginia Beach

Being the eclectic hippie that I am, I love fellow kindred spirits and warm energetic beings. Everyone that I’ve met here has been fabulous, it’s a great place to come to just to enjoy the vibes and grab a latte. But, if you’re like me, you’ll also take in the ambiance – which is so refreshing and pure. From the artwork on the walls, to the hipster/eccentric vibes of the shop next door, this place is seriously full of energy. The staff too! Luv is a great face for this establishment – she is friendly, caring, and so beautiful! The first time I met her, I was getting ready to go to Egypt and she begged me to come back and share my experience with her. I went in today and she instantly remembered me (from months ago) and we struck up an encounter that was like two old friends or sisters! The food here is literally vegan heaven! I’m a faux-vegan (I can’t let go of chicken now haha) and I have a few spots that I regularly venture to for vegan food – it’s not all created equally. But, if you’re considering a vegan meal that’s satisfying, flavorful, and refreshing – anything on the menu here will suffice. I wish I wasn’t so far away, otherwise, they’d get all my money! I’m always impressed. Today, I got the vegan grilled cheese and Luv concocted a lavender-peach iced tea for me (soooo good). I’m thoroughly blown away by how good everything is every time I stop by! Excellent establishment!

Charlie’s Friend Art Café – Menu with Prices – 1165 Bloor St W, Toronto

Amazing local business! Sweet and professional staff and an owner who knows just how to make you feel welcome! I just visited this cafe for the first time since it opened and I am BEYOND impressed. It exceeded my expectations for coffee and food options. Loads of vegan meal to go options with many vegan baked treats promised to come! The non vegan treats are scrumptious too! And the coffee is the best for blocks, hands down. Please do yourselves and Bloordale a favour and give Charlie’s Friend a warm welcome!

Village Pantry Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2473 Main St, London

A true diner with fantastic food. A great place for breakfast lunch or dinner. We head over every time we visit London. The staff is polite and friendly and you really get the feelings that quality and presentation matters. Lunch specials change regularly which is nice to see a variety ,recently we ordered the chocolate shakes and its just the way it should be served, with your glass full and the extra waiting in the metals cup. The staff apologized for the few minutes we waited as they had to go buy more ice cream, now that is service. Love this place wish it was closer.

Szechwan Chinese Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 669 N Green River Rd, Evansville

This must be my favorite Chinese restaurant in the Midwest. I come down to Evansville regularly to visit and always stop by Jimmy’s for lunch. You cannot beat the lunch specials with fresh veggies and meat so tasty. The restaurant is unassuming in a strip mall. The main dining room is Asian inspired with white table clothes and comfortable. The staff and Jimmy are so friendly – always cheerful and welcoming. They make a point of remembering the favorites of the regulars. They check on you regularly to make sure your order is fine and keep drinks full. Lunch specials start at $6.50 and include soup, crab Rangoon, egg roll, entree and choice of rice. So much food! You never leave hungry and often take food home. I love the Kung Pao chicken or shrimp. Ingredients are fresh and tasty. I also like the fried eggplant dish. The hot and sour soup is smooth and flavorful. I’ll keep coming back.

Simon’s Hot Dogs – Menu with Prices – 4280 N Drinkwater Blvd #200, Scottsdale

COLOMBIANOS EN PHOENIX!! This spot is literally a hidden gem, snugged deep in old town Scottsdale by the fashion square. On the weekends, they have arepas!! They are also amazing because not only is it Colombian food but it is VEGAN food as well. Everything on their menu can be turned into vegan so it’s a great compromise spot (as some of you vegans who are married to non vegans can relate). I on my first visit I got the Colombian hot dog and it was so delicious. The coleslaw and crushed potato chips with pineapple sauce on top of vegan hot dog was so delicious, I couldn’t believe they made that happen! And the French fries are so crispy and thick and delicious, literally talking about it makes me want to eat them again. Their vegan Mac and Cheese is soo warm and delicious and if you are latina takes you down memory lane to when you would have home cooked food. Today for lunch, I had the Colombian vegan burger and the patty made of lentils, seeds and beets was so well made and put together, it was the best legume based burger I have had at a restaurant. Try this place out the next time you are in Scottsdale old town! The staff is so sweet and warm, such love in what they provide to their customers.

Fork My Life – Menu with Prices – 6538 Gateway Ave, Sarasota

One of the weirdest experiences in gulf gate you will ever have. Entering in, you are automatically hit with a visible layer of smoke, stinging your eyes and making it almost impossible to stay in the establishment. You are also hit with a snarky comment from the lady at the front, screaming if you are “getting something” The menu and the shakes were great, but the ambiance was completely off: aiming for a quirky local vegan joint but missing the target completely, hitting a concrete smokey jail cell vibe. And the seats? The broken, unattractive and borderline your neighbors barbecue-ness literally absorbed your body. Will be back for the dairy free shakes, not for anything else. Having a local vegan joint is great and as much as we would like to support, it does not seem as if the feeling was mutual.

Cafe Gelato – Menu with Prices – 845 Reynolda Rd NW, Winston-Salem

By far my favorite place to get Gelato. Cafe Gelato atmosphere is small but very cozy and relaxing. I also favor the color choice of the setting because it’s super appealing to the eye. There are various selections including VEGAN options (for my vegan friends out there). The taste was fresh and wasn’t overly sweet. You’re able to combine two flavors and she also offers waffle cones (I’m not sure if the cone is vegan but I got it for decoration lol). I also talked to the owner and she was very delightful, polite and welcoming. She also created conversation surrounding my vegan lifestyle which I felt comfortable discussing because I mean being vegan is awesome. I mentioned this because normally you get to places and they check you to complete the transaction and move on with their tasks. However, she didn’t and made me feel good about choosing this location. So for anyone looking for fresh gelato this is the place to go! You won’t be disappointed at all!

Sakaya japanese cuisine – Menu with Prices – 5503 Johnston St, Lafayette

Went gere on a whim because I saw nice reviews and we wanted to try somewhere new and it was a mistake. We got 2 rolls (hot lady, and wild cat), a miso soup, and 2 drinks. One roll was obnoxiously wide and impossible to eat in one piece. I had to cut it into 1/3s. I felt sacrilegious using a fork to eat a roll. I had to pull out the shrimp completely from the 2 end pieces to remove the tails, destroying them more than they we already doing by themselves. If it was delicious and didn’t crumble apart it would have been alright that I couldn’t eat it normally, but that wasn’t the case. The other roll (hot lady) was flat gross. It was like day old boiled shrimp with hot sauce on it and also completely fell apart with any attempt to eat it. Miso was basic but luke warm at best and had giant chunks of green onions (dime sized peices with white piff in the middle) half of which were rotten looking. I had to ask for a refill and no one checked on us until After we had eaten. If we weren’t incredibly hungry and had already waited through a whole episode of family feud (was only thing for ambiance on a tv in the middle) for our food we would have left after the first bites. The two men were nice enough until another 2 people walked in. It was obvious we were the less important of their Two tables. We will never go back. Ever. My husband also had to go to the bathroom in less than 20 min of eating it and was ill, not exactly a good indicator of quality food.

Ocean Rainbow Ice Cream Shop – Menu with Prices – 3784 Mission Ave #147, Oceanside

I was intrigued by what I read online on the various Mexican flavors they offer so I have been excited to try it for a while. It is a cute little corner store. Quite colorful too. We saw some customers leaving with a vibrant blue and pink combination of flavor. They have unique flavors; I have heard about burnt milk but I’m vegan so I stuck to those the staff member said were vegan. I tried the guanabana and the cactus fruit flavor which were ok. She said the cactus fruit flavor is popular. I thought they just had a hint of flavor. For that reason, I stuck with mangoes with chamoy, tajin and lemon. I had never tried chamoy which the lady was nice enough to give a spoon to try. Overall, I adore the range of Mexican flavors they offer. I love ice cream and it’s quite cheap here but after trying it, it is obvious the quality is at the lower end. So much that I did not buy a scoop. We did ask if the ice cream is homemade as it was advertised but the lady said in an unsure way that it is. And we saw it being scooped from a big tub so I don’t know what they mean by homemade. My favorite is still the ice cream at Sweet Cloud Creamery which is a little bit more expensive but worth the cost as the ice cream is made fresh in store and is unbelievably creamy! It’s all about quality!
