Seems like this Barberitos has gone downhill through the years of myself going hear whenever I would watch movies. I ordered a steak burrito on spinach as my order for this visit. Whenever I got around to paying, I showed my military card to receive the military discount in which I saw the cashier input it, but I realize I have the Barberitos app, so I chose to pay with that. However, for whatever reason, the cashier decided to slyly cancel the order and redo it quickly as I was preparing the app and removing the military discount. Didn’t notice the discount was gone until I already paid for my order. On top of that, the rice in my burrito had gotten to a point in which it was hard that my mother even mentioned it to me. In which I thought she was right, and we also agreed that the steak was on the drier side and still could use more juice to it. Lastly, they have some of the worst salsa ever. It is the most watered down salsa to where it has no flavor, but it is needed for the salty chips they provide. Disappointed by another visit to here.

Bistro To Go – Menu with Prices – 748 Lassus St, Shreveport

If you’re looking for some southern classic dishes you’ll find them here. The shrimp and grits is amazing and they have a large selection of items including to go platters in their fridge section. They do offer a military discount which is a plus but you must be in uniform. A military discount is never expected but I do dislike that only when in uniform will they honor a discount even with a military ID. I’m in the military when in and out of uniform. Prices are a little higher than other lunch stops and their hours are very limited but overall this place is always a treat.

Barberitos Southwestern Grille & Cantina – Menu with Prices – 27 S Pleasantburg Dr Unit 155 Unit 155, Greenville

I’ve been here 3 times & each time the food has been fresh & delicious. I get the heathy chicken bowl. They have several selections under 500 calories! I was a little confused because I thought what I saw on the website for the healthy bowl was slightly different than what I saw in the store. But if you tell them you want the healthy menu, they will walk you through it. They also have a fresh salsa bar and giant burritos. I will say that it looks a bit messy since the back 2 or 3 tables are used for storage and a work space. It won’t deter me from eating here obviously, but a partition would go a long way to keep the dining room looking more tidy. Also, I love that they have hand sanitizer in the restrooms and by the trash cans. I’m happy Barberitos made it to Greenville! Oh, and thank you to Barberitos for the freebie Birthday entree!

San Luis Mexican Food – Menu with Prices – 2600 Temple Heights Dr, Oceanside

After reading all the stellar reviews, I had extremely high hopes for San Luis. After ordering the greatly hyped California Burrito, and my wife ordering the Chile Relleno plate, we got our food, which based on presentation alone, I’d give 7/10. The burrito lived up to its much talked about size, but upon my first bite, the flavor fell way short. Not much seasoning or grill time was given to the carne, and the fries represented the only real flavor. I thought some salsa from the salsa bar would save my experience, but it only made it worse. The salsa was extremely watery, and all 4 we tried seemed to have the same weak chile flavor. My wife and I both agreed that the Chile Rellenos were bland, and the cheese had no flavor. Normally I would expect a good Relleno to present a complex flavor (sauce, batter, chile, and cheese), but it was like biting into flavorless mass each time. Definitely a bummer. As for the ambience, we arrived to a half-full restaurant which quickly cleared out due to most everyone getting their orders to go. As we sat, the table was a bit messy, but the cashier was quick to clean our table before we sat down. As we went to fill our drinks, it was quickly evident that the ice in the soda machine was almost gone. Nothing like trying to drink a soda in a warm restaurant setting with 4 cubes of ice floating in it. Maybe we caught this place on a bad day, but the experience won’t have us coming back to give the food another chance. The service and price were decent, which is why I’m holding strong on the 3 stars and not 2, but the quality of the food needs improvement.

MISSION BBQ – Menu with Prices – 3515 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg

Great news…another business eatery in Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, it didn’t impress. So here’s my Yelp review in a nutshell. Chain restaurant with a ton of great memorabilia on the walls supporting military! But, they don’t give a military discount! You “support” our military, but don’t offer a military discount? I would HIGHLY suggest that you add that option. Otherwise, all I hear is a bunch of bologna propaganda! A 10% discount for active service members or veterans wouldn’t hurt. Even Wendy’s offers a 10% discount to service members, EMT, police and fireman. This is a great location in Fredericksburg. Nice decor, busy busy busy when we came, which means either people are loving it or at least trying it. My husband ordered the plate with 2 meats. Prices shown do NOT include a side, so it can get a bit pricey. He got the pulled pork and pulled chicken with a piece of cornbread. You get a scoop of each on a paper lined tray. I got the 1 meat plate with pulled pork, cornbread and a side of fries for us to split. There are a variety of sauces on the table to try out. I enjoyed my pork, but my husband found his to be fatty. The fries were very good! Cornbread was dry. Fountain machine in the lobby for unlimited refills of soda or tea. There is an option to pickup a glass bottle of soda at the entrance, in cool little retro bottles, which is nice. Beer on tap. Basic fast food honestly. Nothing to rave about. I would go there again, but I don’t see the ‘wow’ factor.

Viva Burrito – Menu with Prices – 6320 E Golf Links Rd Suite 100, Tucson

Now I understand the poor reviews. These people are idiots. Not 1 but 2 different posted menus show a Bean Burrito at $3.99. I ordered at the window and she says “Bean and Cheese burrito?” Twice, I had to say No, just the bean burrito on your menu. When I get it, I notice they charged me $4.59 for the burrito. I take it to them, they say a few different things: 1 – “The burrito without cheese costs more than the burrito with cheese.” Fine, nowhere does your menu even offer a Burrito with Cheese. And who charges more for less?? You can charge the same – but not more. 2. “We had a price change, and the Burrito without Cheese is $4.29.” See above, and…..price changes should not be a surprise you pull on a customer AFTER they order. AND – that doesn’t explain the $4.59 charge. Not going back.

Tacos Los Campesinos – Menu with Prices – 1555 Vassar St, Reno

I went there for lunch today. The restaurant was full as it was a small establishment. Looked like the staff needed help clearing the tables for people to sit down. I felt bad for them. I thought about lending them a hand. It took awhile to get my order. I ordered a steak burrito to go. I thought the prices were a little high for a burrito but I thought I’d give them a try. It turned out that the burrito was really good. The lady running the cash register apologized for the long wait. As for the prices, yah I think everything in Reno is going up. So maybe the prices may be fair. They just need to hire more help for the lunch rush I guess. I’ll go back at a different time and try something else. Like I said, the food was good and the service was friendly. There was also plenty of parking.

DaNang Souphouse – Menu with Prices – 1600 E Belt Line Rd, Richardson

Would I go back to this place again? Probably not.. Unless I have a group of friends who’s craving all the different soup based things such as pho, BBH, or bun cha ca. If not, NOPE.. won’t be coming back here. I think they overcharged us. I’ll take a picture of my receipt to show ya’ll later. On the menu, it states that an adult buffet on Tue/Wed/Fri is about $16. They give you a 10% discount if you have you have your student ID, military ID, or if you’re a senior citizen. My cousin and her bf had their student ID and military ID and total we only got $1.60 taken off of our total bill -.- Was there even a point to getting a discount. We looked on our receipt and she only gave us discount for the military ID and not my cousin’s student ID. IDK if she just didn’t know what she was doing or if she was being stingy and only gave us one discount. Anyways, SAVE YOUR MONEY AND JUST GO SOMEWHERE ELSE FORREAL FORREAL. Bun bo hue (4/5) This one was probably the most flavorful thing on the menu. I actually ate two bowls of this because everything else was kinda meh. I’m not saying it was the best BBH I’ve had.. but it was the best thing at this place. I did add a spoonful or mam ruoc (shrimp paste) and sate (chili oil) to bring out the flavor. Bun cha ca (1/5) Probably the least amount of flavor out of all the soup based dishes. Mi Quang (4/5) The mi quang wasn’t too bad. I actually think it had more flavor than other places that I’ve tried around the area. I do wish there was more meat in the bowl than they had given me. The flavor was all there and I didn’t have to modify it at all. Maybe add some lime to it to balance out the sweetness that it had. Banh beo, banh nam and banh bot loc (3/5) These were pretty decent, but again I’ve had better. Didn’t try the banh xeo but my cousin and her BF said that they liked it. I do like that they have choices that could knock out all of your cravings in one sitting though. I just don’t know if I would ever come back. I would say that for a buffet, you do get your money’s worth if you eat at least two of the noodle bowls.

Holiday Inn Ontario Airport – Menu with Prices – 2155 E Convention Center Way, Ontario

I booked a room months in advance through the hotel and was told the total was about $600 WITHOUT the military discount however my card would be charged a less amount WITH the discount. Checking in for my reservation, I wanted to double check the amount I was charged for and sure enough I was told $600. I explained to Teddy (I think that’s his name? the Asian man with arm tattoos) the situation that I should be charged less with the discount and not the full $600. He mentioned something about booking the room package which included breakfast. I don’t know why he kept bringing breakfast up, which wasn’t the problem because that was exactly what I purchased. However, he wasn’t understanding the problem which was why I was being charged so much when the military discount was supposed to be applied. I ended up paying for the room knowing that all other hotels were fully booked due to the concert in town. Teddy did not make me feel welcomed to the hotel, did not remind me of the amenities offered, did not inform me of breakfast details. The next morning, I went down for breakfast and I saw people holding a ticket. Assuming I needed the ticket, I went to double check at the front desk and sure enough Teddy didn’t give these to me when checking in. After my stay, I contacted Holiday Inn’s customer support and explained the billing situation. They looked up the reservation details and said that a military rate was noted but never applied. Then I was told they would contact the hotel manager and I still have not gotten a call back. I would have given 2 starts because the encounter with Teddy was incredibly irritating and put me in a salty mood the rest of my stay. Other than this situation, I gave 3 stars because the room was as expected, housekeeping was friendly, and the two ladies (one wearing glasses with short, red, curly hair (I think) and the other with long black hair and braces) were sweet and helpful. Taking this as a lesson to confirm billing details and to avoid the same problem, I will no longer book my stays at this hotel.

RuRu’s Tacos & Tequila – Menu with Prices – 159 E Bay St, Charleston

We walked by this place and saw an awesome burrito feom the window so decided to give it a try. In a city filled with amazing food this is just a 6 out of 10. I ordered a mojito..probably the worst I had ever had. We also ordered the three amigos, the cheese dip was good (of course) the salsa was good( had a roasted flavor). The guacamole was, in my opinion, inedible! It tasted soured with a weird spice note on the end tbat was unpleasant( I actually ask the waitress to take it away from our table..and even though we were dissatisfied she never apologized or took it off our bill. I didn’t even bother to tell her about the m ojito. I had the ahi tuna and Korean steak bbq and my husband had the steak burrito. They were all tasty!

Twisted Burrito Menu with Prices 4107 Madeline Dr, Augusta

My wife and I went in there yesterday 6-28-19. We got one burrito to go big rig size. We sat at the bar for 10 minutes with wait staff walking by looking at us. Finally they took our order. While waiting the staff in the back got into a fight lots of yelling, cussing and at the end punching and slamming of doors. The staff said ” Its just a mother and son thing its happened before.” This is listed as a laid back family establishment. This was totally not the case yesterday. The manager was in the back as well.Anyway after literally 35 minutes my to go order of one burrito finally came out. It was absolutely disgusting. It actually was more white rice than anything. It wasn’t mixed with anything just white rice clumped on the burrito. Worst thing I have ever eaten in in my life. Anyway in total honesty we have eaten there before and the food has been great. I don’t know if they were just having an off day or what. If I hadn’t already paid for my meal I would have walked out without it. If the owner is local he may want to go in there and get a clue of what is going on in his place. I would have absolutely been ashamed of that place if it was mine yesterday. Manager should be fired for allowing such crappy service. Mother and son should be fired for for the cursing and yelling where the customer’s can here or for doing it at work period. The cook should be fired for not knowing how to build a burrito. When burrito is on the name of your business you probably should make sure the cook can make one. If I wanted food like that I would have went to McDonald’s. Oh on a side note the waitress said that is not the first time the mother and son have fought at work and have been fired for it before. Why would you rehire someone that acts like this. Anyway probably hands down the worst visit to any type food establishment ever. To the owner you should be ashamed. Horrible service and food on this visit.

David’s Burgers – Menu with Prices – 101 S Bowman Rd, Little Rock

David’s has previously been a polite, family friendly chain. Until today. Upon visiting, my mother and I were accused of potentially stealing some of the free sample fries they frequently bring around because we both chose to order a sandwich only. Mind you, we had not even been able to complete our order so we had not eaten anything. This loud and at first seemingly joking exchange became louder and rude as he, THE OWNER, tells my mother that she shouldn’t lie and should set a good example for me. The nervous cashier is looking back and forth because the owner is telling her to charge us for the fries even though we have stated we dont want them. This continues back and forth with him insisting she add fries to her ticket so she doesn’t steal them and my mother insisting politely that she does not want any fries. As we go to our seats, the owner tells the cashier he needs to speak with her. She leaves crying, without a job and my mother and I are both disgusted, offended and saddened at such a negative experience. We did request a refund and left without eating and the only thing this man can say is he messed up in a hushed voice, undoubtedly just trying to make sure my mother and I were not loud enough for any of his other precious customers to hear.

Señor Taco – Menu with Prices – 1929 North Power Road #, 105 # 105, Mesa

Senor Taco is a taste-better alternative to the world of Filiberto’s and all the knockoffs. That single statement sums up the Senor Taco food line up, monster entrees and decent pricing. What you will find are burritos, tacos and other items that compare reasonably to Filiberto’s but are both better tasting and somewhat unique. The first time guest should try the carne asada burrito which is a strong item. People who are hungry could try the California Surfin burrito- a massive entree with carne asada, shrimp and French fries in a burrito wrap. Crazy fun and tasty. For those who can eat an entire cow in one sitting, I dare you to try to finish off a Senor Burrito. This double wrapped carne asada burrito with potatoes and lots of other goodies has got to be at least 2 lbs of shear burrito glory. Not for the weak. The chips are tasty, and the salsa bar is very good, well kept and fresh. The flavors are a bit spicier than the other fast food Mexican chains, but they are just perfect. I love the medium red salsa. Prices are reasonable, with most burritos staying between 5-8 dollars, but the monster teo I mentioned above range all the way to $10, which is still a great deal if you consider the humungous volume for those items. The staff is quick and polite, and your order will be ready pretty fast. Everything is made to order so it could be 5 min for some things but you’ll be eating in no time. This place is the best fast food Mexican available.
