Awesome place with amazing food at really low prices. Even the beans, which usually you’re like aw whatever, beans, are amazing. There’s a good chance your server might not speak English, but I have been to number of countries and it’s never been a barrier to getting fed for me. If you can’t figure out how to order, you don’t deserve the food. Go to Arby’s then. If you aren’t afraid to order by pointing you will not regret coming here. End of the week and bankroll getting thin? They got you, fam. 4.99 lunch special.

Faialense Sport Club – Menu with Prices – 1121 Cambridge St, Cambridge

Good food and good crowd. Seafood is fresh. And the atmosphere was amazing. We got to know and got talking to the people who were sitting right next to us. They even shared with us their homemade desserts. It was such a fun atmosphere. It felt really nice to be welcomed and be part of a community. It was definitely a different experience. The food was also fresh and the drinks were good too. The only thing is when we come back, we have to go early so that by the time our food arrives, we arent so hungry and almost past our hunger. But this is not their fault. They arent restaurant style/type. We knew this but we had to try it. We should have gone there right when they open. What I noticed is that the people cooking are great at what they do but they dont treat the ticket orders as how restaurants do. We notice that maybe due to the small kitchen, they fire up one dish at a time. So we noticed all of the fish steak dish coming out for the entire dining room, then comes next the shrimp dish etc. Then the steak…so the food for our table didnt come out all at the same time and we all didnt eat at the same time. But thats okay, we decided to share it as family style instead so we can all eat and have something. Next time, we know what to expect. The best thing about this place is that you have that table for the entire night! No one is rushing you to leave! Quite a concept for american diners isn’t it? We’ll be back!

Fokkus Room & Cucine – Menu with Prices – 138 W Fordham Rd, The Bronx

I went here a week ago with my family for my cousins birthday. First of even though it says it closes at 12 the waiter informed us it closes at 11. Ok? No prop…. then when we are about to place the order he recommends Sushi Ninja “new” platter for a big group of people. $100.? Ok fine…. when it gets to the table. Our group of 8 make it disappear, literally like piranhas (it was really good i must say) but we are all left starving, it was obviously only good for maybe 3 people tops… ok at his point I’m not mad it is what it is. When we try to pay how ever! He tells us.. oh no we dont take cards past 11!!! Wtf? Ok well u are going to have to work something out because we only have cards. Fine ill take 1 card.. so I requested to speak to the manager.. ha! Manager comes and it is obvious she is more concerned with her manicure than she is what I’m saying. So after like 15 mins of explaining to her that some one should have told us about all these card rules before we ordered an her pointing at the door saying there is a sign she finally agrees to let us pay for our crap! To make maters worse, when we walked out the door we decide to read the sign she kept pointing to and guess what! That sign was deceiving as well, it only read ” sorry our card machine is out of service” …. smh Never again…

The Sweetest Batch Cupcakery – Menu with Prices – 2237 Lowes Dr Suite E, Clarksville

Dense and the varying frostings are so similar they are barely different. The cupcakes and heavy, literally, not fluffy and moist but wet on the inside as if they arent cooked all the way through. Also, when i went they still had more than 3 hours until closing time and only had 3 different types and less than 7 available. So that tells me they dont bake these freshly throughout the day, just make a giant dense batch in the morning and hope to sell out instead of having multiple fresh options available throughout the day.

Avenue Downtown – Menu with Prices – 10888 Jasper Ave, Edmonton

Im giving it two stars because i actually never made it into the bar which was super disappointing due to the bouncers picking and choosing who got to go in, it was a super cold night, i was standing in line with my boyfriend he was dressed in a nice outfit and i was dressed in a really pretty top and leggings so if there is a dress code we definitely didnt go against it, there was 3 people in front of us, and about 15 behind us, all male with the exception of two other woman, the club was pretty full so there was a bit of a wait, the one girl and other girl started talking and turns out they were both partying alone, we waited over 15 minutes before the bouncer who was very good looking started to let someone in, now all the other clubs usually follow the line but not this guy he started complimenting the one of the girls and then went “you know what you can come inside” and she then asked if the other girl could come with her he sighed a bit and said yes and let them skip the line leaving the about 6 of us who had been waiting a lot longer outside still waiting. That was a bit disappointing, i get wanting to fill the club with pretty girls but when you are out clubbing in the winter here (this was a while ago and as im just joining yelp) in -30 weather the people who have been waiting the longest should be getting in first, we have money to spend, well after standing outside for over 15 minutes and watching the bouncer let a girl skip all of us cuz she was cute and making us all wait i turned to my boyfriend and said “i dont wanna spend money at a place where they pick and chose who gets in based on who the bouncer thinks is hot because i know we arent getting in” im really pretty but im also not stick thin, and i have a boyfriend so i knew damn well they werent gonna choose us to skip the line, it looked like a fun place, the type of music i like, im sure i would have really enjoyed it there, but instead we went down to O2’s had some pizza bread, an amazing drink they created for me and played pool. I have never been back, although my favourite place shut down so i might have to attempt coming here again but no promises i will.

Forn Al Hara Menu with Prices 512 S Brookhurst St #5, Anaheim

What a delicious find that hides in Anaheim. A friend had been telling me to come here for years, but I had no idea what anything was and had no clue what to get, so I would forget that it was there. He told me to order a cheese boat and I finally did. Why did I wait so long? Being a cheese lover, it was simply amazing. So amazing that I devoured it like a pig, a lot of it before I got home. Lots of ooey gooey cheese and the bread baked to perfection. I recommend ordering the large and not the mini. I never had the mini but there is no way it would be enough. On another visit he had told me to order a Lahem Bel Ajeen with cheese. I think this is spelled right? It was like a thin pizza bursting with delicious flavor and reminded me of a pizza. Lots of flavor from the meat and cheese. Another day I was told to order the egg and cheese. Similar to a thin pizza again but a simple egg and cheese. The three items I have tried I have simply loved and want to keep coming back for more. Not to mention it is cheap. I can get all three of those for a little over $14 after tax. Service is hit or miss. Sometimes you stand there for a very long time to order or pick up your order. I recommend calling it in and arriving in about fifteen minutes. Again, sometimes it takes quite some time for them to pick up the phone because they get quite busy. However, the staff is friendly and the food is amazing. I am a fan and wish I had started coming by sooner.

WHISPERS OYSTER BAR & SEAFOOD LOUNGE – Menu with Prices – 331 W Forsyth St, Jacksonville

This place has a lot of potential but there’s a long ways to go. Whispers is a great location, especially for those who work in the TIAA Bank Tower. The prices are relatively good and hopefully they stay that way. To increase the stars, these are the things that will need to be worked on: 1) The staff do not appear to be trained/experienced waitstaff. A lot of confusion and there is no communication between staff. If you’re coming here for a business lunch, do not do it. If you’re coming to eat lunch by yourself or with some work buddies, it’ll be okay. 2) The food took over 35 minutes to come out and once it did, everything was barely lukewarm. If you offer lunch specials, lunch should be out quickly and the food should be hot. 3) I tried the wings special (Cajun ranch) and the oxtails. The wings were okay for the price, but were cold and a little over done. The oxtails were better than the wings, but not by much; barely warm but there was some flavor there. The Mac and cheese was okay, again, would have been better if it was hot. This is really a 2.5 stars, but I have 3 because while the staff seemed extremely lost and uncertain of what to do, they were kind and you can tell they were trying their best. All in all, time will tell if things will improve, last week was their first official week open so we will see. I’ll give them another shot in a week or two and I’ll update the.

Pendleton Carryout Co. Menu with Prices 807 Pendleton St, Alexandria

really sad to be posting this because I loved all of their food offerings when they first opened. However, over the last few months the staff has changed, the hours have changed, and so has the food quality. My boyfriend and I loved coming in in the mornings for the breakfast sandwiches. Last week, the woman at the counter yelled at my boyfriend for walking into the open door at 10:55 am because they weren’t open for another five minutes, and then curtly told him they don’t have breakfast sandwiches in, speaking as if it was his fault that he had asked. today the people at the counter had their headphones in and didnt even fully take them out to take our order. Over the past month, they didn’t have the ingredients several times, and today they gave us a sandwich that not only didn’t have the fluffy scrambled eggs we were used to, but the egg was chopped up and not fully cooked through, the cheese wasn’t melted and they were overall soggy. As for the hours, they now dont open until 11, so for breakfast we’ve been hitting up McDonalds again, because in my book, 11am is a little for a breakfast sandwich and I dont want to be walking around midday to pick up lunch in 90 degree heat. Not going back here until they get their act together and turn back into the restaurant they were when they first opened.

Lake Effect Ice Cream – Menu with Prices – 1900 Hertel Ave, Buffalo

This is probably one of the best original Ice Cream places in buffalo! I came here a week ago and have been back again because it was that good. It is not expensive at all and don’t be deterred if you see the line out to the street as they move fast and you wont have to wait that long. We had to do our research before coming here because the flavors are a bit much to process when you get up there and the menu is right in the middle of where you order so it gets clustered at the window and can be a bit frustrating. I decided on the Turtle Brownie Bliss ice cream but then when I got up there they had added a few that were not on their social media so I had to make a quick decision and got a scoop of the Butterbeer too ( because I knew what the flavor was since I love HP). The TBB was amazing and the Butterbeer was out of this world and thats why we came back with in the same week because it was that good. I would recommend this place to anyone since they have all their own ice creams and they don’t have filler flavors that can be bought at the store. SIDE NOTE FOR THE OWNERS/MANAGERS: You should get some one to manage your social media as it seems you don’t really respond to messages ( I sent one a week ago and still no response) and or update your website and that could be a huge turn off to most people. Also advertise your new flavors because when people have to read the descriptions for a long time to figure out what they want it becomes a cluster at the ordering window. Also move the menu its in a bad place.

Sandwich King – Menu with Prices – 17885 Sky Park N # G, Irvine

I walked into this sandwich shop the other day for lunch after a night of drinking and was immediately perplexed by the variety of menu items on the board. I counted 8 panels with about 10 items each coming out to roughly 80 different listed sandwiches Fortunately there was no-one behind me in line so i stood looking perplexed at the nice Chinese man waiting patiently to take my order. After a good 5 minutes looking crosseyed at the menu trying not to get dizzy and fall down I gave up and ordered something that i was pretty sure i would like. A tuna melt. “I’ll have the tuna melt” I said The main behind the counter immediately came back with: “What kind of bread would you like?” Oh crap, I hadn’t thought of that. Oh, wait, now where was the bread options in this sandwich matrix. I had to ask. He pointed at the bread options and after a minute of him pointing at the same spot on the menu i finally focused my eyes on the 5 or 6 different bread options. I was confused because they had something like a “Roll” and a “French Roll” and i couldn’t for the life of me figure out why you would need both options. “White Bread” i said “Toasted? ok, so now where were we. 80 options, multiplied by 6 types of bread times 2 for the toasted/not toasted. That comes out to 960! options. “Do you want everything on it?” Shrug.. “Whats everything?” “Lettuce, tomato, pickles, avocado, mustard and mayo” “sure i’ll take it all” Ok, binary math now. each option doubles the original set of options. –grinding gear noise in head– We my friends are now at 61440 possible sandwich combinations! Exhausted I sat down and ate my chips and drink. When the sandwich finally came I took a big bite. The 90% of the tuna squished out the sides along with the avocado. The structurally unsound thin piece of white bread disintegrated in my hands and of course was left with the typical tasteless hard as an apple California Tomato which was cut way too thick. What kind of a moron would order this sandwich? I can’t stand avocado either, not on a sandwich anyway. If i had seen a picture of this sandwich before ordering it i would most certainly have chosen something else. And this is the problem with american society today. Everyone wants to have ALL the options, but the thing is. WE ARE ALL IDIOTS! myself included. And what about this sandwich guy. For me, it’s just another bad sandwich. But for this guy it’s his life. He wakes up in the morning and for at least 8, probably 10 hours a day all he does is makes sandwiches one after another. You would think a guy like that would have some pretty good opinions on what makes a good sandwich and what doesn’t right? If i were doing that job, i would spend years trying to construct the perfect combination of bread meat and cheese and then present ONLY THOSE OPTIONS. that way the customer is much more likely to get a good sandwich. Sure, you can show the options as well and you can offer substitutions for those few who want to order something custom but the vast majority of your clients are just going to order off the menu. But no. Who knows how many years this guy has been in business and he can’t even bother to figure out what makes a good sandwich. This is just pure laziness if you ask me. I give this place 3 stars. a mediocre score for a mediocre sandwich. Oh and i don’t have a picture. but just google “sandwich” and you pretty much get the point.

Tasty Creme Donuts – Menu with Prices – 7635 Pines Rd, Shreveport

I knocked a star off due to the inconvenience. I had discovered these donuts from work. There’s a doctor that buys donuts every Friday. The box it came in said ‘You Deserve a Donut’. I wondered where these were from and somebody told me it was this location. Taste Creme Donuts is about 13 minutes away. So, I have to really burn gas to get there. The first attempt, I discovered they were on vacation. I should have called the store. The second attempt, I called the store to assure they were open. They answered. I burn gas again to get there, but they were out of glazed donuts. That was all I wanted. By the second attempt, I was starting to give up on ever bother coming back. The third attempt, I called and asked if they had glazed. They did, but I was afraid by the time I would get there, they would run out. I asked if orders over the phone were allowed. A guy switched to the phone and asked what I wanted. I said a dozen glazed. I get there, and the order wasn’t ready at all. I just asked and was given what I asked, plus, something extra. Service was good, but I wouldn’t go out of my way for these donuts again.

Sal’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 6773 Carnelian St, Rancho Cucamonga

Best pizza around the Rancho Cucamonga area I have found! Tried it for the first time, I ordered the XL 2 topping pizza for $23! Slices were huge, they were very generous with the toppings and it tasted delicious!! I normally just eat 1 or 2 “small” slices, like pizza hut sizes, but this pizza was so good I ate 4! And the slices were big I couldve been full with 1! I didnt get to take a photo, I was too hungry! They dont accept debit/credit so be warned of that and its not a sot down restaurant, they’re just a store front. But this is perfect to call ahead and pick up for an amazing dinner! Dont waste time with fast food pizza when you can have the real thing! I will be coming back!

Bojangles’ Famous Chicken ‘n Biscuits – Menu with Prices – 9815 Hospital Blvd, Fredericksburg

They greeted us cheerfully however when we started to order – they were out of the items we wanted. Asked for white meat chicken breasts and had none, several sides were empty except for pinto beans. So, we settled for two chicken thighs each with biscuits and beans then manager yelled at server because beans were dished directly onto the plate instead of in plastic cup. So, we also asked for ham biscuits and received one thin piece of ham in biscuits. Not going back. Chic-Fil-A so much better food wise and nicer to employees and customers too!!!
