I had the chicken/lamb combo, everything was cooked perfectly, Sauces were on point, and the flow of blended wonderfully. My Vegan Wife ordered the Falafel Sandwich, the cook was quick to point out what items she should substitute or completely skip them since they weren’t vegan. Always love to find a chef that has vegan substitutes. Overall very impressed with the quality of the food and service from the chef. He seems like a really cool guy that cooks a hell of a falafel If you’re hungry, in the mood for middle eastern food, and happy to be lucky enough to come upon this truck, I would highly recommend ordering a p

Mediterranean Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 624 Independence Blvd Suite 106, Virginia Beach

I’ve been here twice, once for lunch, and the second time, I brought my fiancee for dinner. Personally, I love falafel and hummus a lot. Since moving back to the Tidewater area, it has been tough finding good falafel or hummus close by. Mediterranean Cuisine may be 5 miles from me, but it’s worth the trip. It is a traditional middle Eastern cafe, like you would find in Lebanon. Not fancy, but the falafel is made fresh daily, the hummus has an amazing lemon zing, punctuated by a fresh garlic and olive oil flavor. The bread is what I really love most, it’s traditional Syrian/Lebanese style, with a fresh, chewy texture. The falafel sandwich I had came with tahini, lettuce/tomato and pickled turnips. I could eat this all week long, fresh falafel beats frozen any day my friends. The lamb kabob platter came with delicious grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes, and a large scoop of basmati rice. The meat was grilled perfectly, with a nice char over tender lamb. The service was excellent, they were friendly and made.you feel at home. I will be coming back regularly.

Westside Shawarma – Menu with Prices – 425 – 713 West Side Ave, Jersey City

This truck is located in a BP gas station. If you are looking for somewhere to sit down and enjoy your meal, walk a block down, past the animal hospital to the big park. There are benches and better air quality there. Regardless, the meats are delicious. I’m a fan of lamb gyros. Since Halal Guys switched their lamb to beef, it’s a treat to find a food truck that serves lamb over rice in NJ. Their hot sauce is not too hot and the white sauce is delicious. $7 for the chicken and lamb over rice combo or the lamb over rice combo. The orders both come with a can of soda each. Their food portions are generous. I could only finish half of my meal.

Woodland’s Vegan Bistro – Menu with Prices – 2928 Georgia Avenue Northwest, Washington

It is really hard to find good vegan/vegetarian options with the food trucks that frequent downtown during the week for lunch. This is why I always try to visit this truck when it is at Metro Center (closest Food Truck hangout to my office), so I hope they continue to frequent there on Tuesdays. All of the food options they offer are excellent. I have tried most of the entrees and a few of the sandwiches and have not been disappointed with anything on I tried. Highly recommend the Mac & Cheese and the Garlic Kale – Yum! Yum! The bread they use for their sandwiches is super soft and delicious and totally worth a “cheat day” for the carbs ? The only drawback with this truck is the wait, but, who cares. It’s yummy in my tummy and worth it. I like the food here so much, that I order meals for more than one day and just keep them in the fridge at work to heat up in the microwave for lunch. If you are vegetarian or vegan – You have to try this food truck for lunch if near your office.

Orlando Food Dept. – Menu with Prices – 3601 Vineland Rd, Orlando

Moved to Orlando from Miami, to find a whole new amazing culinary scene thanks to recommendations from Cool people we have met here. Orlando Food Department was one of this recommendations which has opened my eyes to a whole new world of food experiences. Yes, the food is amazingly delicious, but what really makes it different and especial is that their flavors range from feeling like you are eating from a grandmother kitchen in Iraq, to a hi- end burger joint in Chicago. The best way to explain it to me is that I have had thousands of hummus and falafel, across the world but you really haven’t had the real thing until you have theirs. Eating it is a foodie right of passage to understanding a whole new dimension of middle eastern food. The same goes with their Philly cheese steak, ALL their lamb dishes, and chicken biryani. With their food delivey service, they also deliver home made sauces. All of the ones I tried are great but my two favorites are their enchilada sauce and their ketchup( yes, their ketchup). You put it in as a side to any bbq or roasted chicken and voila. Highly recommend them for meal delivery for the office, and to cater any type of event. I really love their food!

Around The Table Kosher Menu with Prices Parking Lot, 702 N 22nd St, Allentown

Typically every Spring/Summer our business development hosts Food Truck Fridays, and Around the Table Catering has always had a food truck for the event. Today i finally made the decision to try them out, and ordered a falafel sandwich. Was a little confused when i first sat down to eat it, cause it had a little bit of sauerkraut and grilled eggplant, which as far as i can remember isn’t traditional, so i started out skeptical. After picking off the odd ingredients, i took a large bit of my sandwich and was immediately reminded how great falafel was, since i hadn’t had this kind of sandwich in years on a trip to NYC, and was so happy i ordered it. The falafel itself was crispy on the outside and moist on the inside. The sauce was well seasoned and not overpowering, i could really taste everything going on. My lunch hunger was definitely satisfied, and will be enjoying this food truck all summer.

Elhariri Hot Halal food Menu with Prices 301 Ontario St, Albany

The best lamb around!! This is my new favorite place for lamb- it is by far the best quality you’ll find. With the lamb over rice and the lamb wrap, you’ll get your lamb sliced off right in front of you- that’s how fresh the meat is. The meat is well seasoned and has a great texture. For the quality of lamb, the price is reasonable and definitely worth a try! Tip- try not to come too late in the day or there won’t be much lamb left and the core was significantly softer in texture- not very tasty.

New York Style Halal Gyro – Menu with Prices – 6157 Cleveland Ave, Columbus

I am so happy I found this food truck. Of course it is not exactly the same as Halal Guys, but still super delicious. Plus, the price is totally reasonable for the amount of food you get ($7 max). I got the mix (chicken+lamb) over rice with white sauce, and it was so delicious. After ordering, it took about ten minutes for the food to be made. Thankfully there is plenty of parking, so I just waited in the car listening to music. The owner and his son were working that day, and they were both super polite and friendly. I highly recommend this place!

Cafe Paprika Menu with Prices 13160 E Mississippi Ave, Aurora

Visited Paprika on a Friday with a group of five friends, although the place was not that busy I would recommend making a reservation given the place is small. Also keep in mind this is a family operation with only two employees it seem (one cook and one waiter) so the service might be slow. For appetizers we went with the middle eastern combination which we enjoyed very much. The falafel were crispy and delicious as well as the hummus. Also had the Greek salad which was average. The bastilla was something new given it is both savory and sweet at the same time. My only comment regarding the appetizers hot dishes is that they were not that hot when they came out, felt more as if they were heated rather than being cooked recently. The mains dishes felt more as if they were cooked to order. My lamb shank was great but had higher expectations specially in terms of the richness of the sauce (marag) it came with. The meat itself was tender and didn’t need a knife to slice, just pushing it with your spoon will do. As for desserts we went with the baklava and the m’hencha. Both were pretty standard nothing special. Overall a decent place to taste some Moroccan food in the area given there isn’t many choices of this cuisine. Here are my ratings: Falafel: 8/10 Hummus: 8/10 Pita bread: 6/10 Greek salad: 6/10 Lamb shank: 8.5/10 Baklava: 7/10 M’hencha: 6.5/10

Levantine?s Cafe & Bakery – Menu with Prices – 750 Elmgrove Rd, Rochester

Levantine’s has been open for three weeks. It takes a bit to figure out their menu- to be honest, after standing there for ten minutes and getting some pointers from Fraser behind the counter and the chef, Mohamad, I am still not sure if I understand the menu correctly. We ordered mezza, shawarma, and manakeesh. Each mezza is $5, or three for $12 or five for $18. We went with five: hummus, falafel, ful salad (Favat beans), fatoush salad and tabouli. They were out of a couple of selections. Manakeesh comes in zataar, cheese and spinach varieties: 2 (if I remember correctly) for $8. Their shawarma is served as a pita wrap, the same as their chicken kabob. But then they have a whole bunch of other choices on the menu and you can combine things together which was too much to understand! Hummus: truly excellent Falafel: exceptional! Apparently, Syrian falafel has to have a donut-like hole in the middle and has less ingredients compared to say Lebanese falafel. I just have to say it is a must to have their falafel. Tabouli: fresh and refreshing. Not heavy with barley, just right. Ful salad: good experience but not really a must for me even though Mohamad highly recommended it. Fatoush: good sauce but ordinary with the combination of cucumber and tomato. I won’t have it the next time. They served bread with the mezza. Thin enough that I could see the shadow of my fingers behind it. I really liked it. And I liked the little bit of yogurt (labne) that came with the falafel. I wasn’t a big fan of manakeesh. Nothing wrong with it but not on par with the mezza. Finally, shawarma! It was pretty good. We finished with baklava- 2 pieces for $3. Enjoyable! Service was good. Fraser was behind the counter. She was very helpful and patient with me. Mohamad, with his chef attire came forward and answered all my questions. Nice guy! Ambiance is not really special. I guess I can describe it as clean and sterile. It lacks any ethnic personality that you might except. Not that there was anything wrong with it but it can be better. I guess my only issue (other than a complicated menu) is their pricing. They are competing with the likes of Cedar which is very popular. And their price over quantity ratio may be a little high. All in all, I enjoyed the food and the service, and I will be back to try other items on the menu.

King Falafel And Grill – Menu with Prices – 8875 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

About five weeks ago, we (me, my wife, and her parents) stumbled across this little, family-owned restaurant on our way to watch the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes play some baseball. At that time, it was called “Let’s Falafel and Grill.” (The friendly gentleman that greeted us and cooked for us back then is the same friendly guy that still greets us and cooks for us now.) We have visited Let’s Falafel/King’s Falafel four times now. In about five weeks. That’s quite often, considering that we live in Anaheim! The chicken, the beef, and the lamb kafta kabobs are grilled as you order them, so don’t expect your food to be delivered as fast as a cup of coffee from Starbucks. (We’re normally in no rush, so we don’t mind sitting and talking, but if you order ahead you’ll have no problem.) The meats are moist, tender, and very flavorful. The rice is fluffy and delicious. You’ll love the garlic sauce, the hummus, the cucumber yogurt, the service, and the cost! When a chicken bowl from Flame Broiler (across the street) costs about $9, it’s worth paying the extra dollar at King’s to receive: more (and better tasting) chicken, rice, a salad, grilled (chunky) vegetables, humus, and pita bread! We’ll spend about $50-$55 (for four people) and have enough leftovers for lunch the next day! (Compare that to Flame Broiler: $40 for four chicken bowls with no leftovers.) If you are looking for a great meal, a great price, great service, and want to support a local business… then you need to start dining at King’s Falafel! Seriously. Go now! Why are you still reading this? My review is finished… Get to King’s Falafel NOW!!

IVANOPOBLANO – Menu with Prices – 1016 Oxford St E, London

Qué rico! As always in our travels, some of the best places to eat are tucked away in place you’d never expect and so fun to find! Ivanopoblano is a food truck that is parked on the side of a business parking lot…Lyn-Dys. Not only is the owner a great cook but he is super personable as well! The food truck items are 100% organic with choices ranging from meat (chicken & beef) to vegetarian and vegan and a big bonus is he can offer gluten free as well! I’d highly recommend one of his vegan options, which is Ratatouille taco. It was so incredibly flavorful with sweet potatoes and beans and was just the perfect amount of food after having to try the Mushroom taco as well. It was just as flavorful and a first for me, having a taco with mushrooms and I’d definitely order it again! Husband had the Beef taco and Avocado taco and said they were both really good too…perfect spice, perfect flavor. I have to mention that he also went the extra mile and cleaned his grills really good because he is extremely conscious of celiac disease and when I mentioned we both had flour allergies he cleaned everything off the grills. That’s pretty cool in my books and we will be returning while staying in London because I need to try his Chilaquiles!!

Fares Arabic Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 5221 N 10th St #270, McAllen

I’m surprised to see so many negative reviews on here! We stopped by a few weeks ago and the food was amazing. The prices are not really that high (it’s not tacos from a food truck, guys!) and the portions are moderate. I think we are just used to big portions and different flavors down here. Anyway, I recommend the tabbouleh, falafel, hummus, and lamb kabob. It’s almost cafeteria style, where you get there, order at the front, pay, and then sit down. If you are not familiar with Arabic food, you might need to take a look at the menu for a bit. If you need time, they have small printed menus by the cash register. I would grab one of those and take a look. A lot of the food is visible at the bar, so you can ask questions if you need to. I was a little overwhelmed and didn’t know what to get, but the owner was very friendly and helped me decide.
