We love coming to Sweetwater for lunch. The chefs prepare fresh and healthy food each day. There is some unique ideas that I wouldn’t think to make but are really tasty. I really like the jerk chicken meal that I had one week that came with rice. I also love the dessert selection that they have. The prices are fair and reasonable and I think that employees get a discount. You don’t even have to clean off your tray they do everything for you. The Crescendo Café has Debrands truffles which are my favorites. TIP: If you want Coke Zero or other variations there is a coke freestyle machine at the Crescendo Café but not in the main area.

Chocolate Necessities & Gelato Menu with Prices 1408 Commercial St, Bellingham

To be honest, I’m not too crazy about the quality of their chocolate (or gelato), but I come here when I need a small local gift. Also, they are open 7 days a week and are open late too. So, it’s convenient. They have quite a few different kinds of truffles, and many of them come in dark and milk chocolate. It IS expensive, but for about $11, you can get a box of 4 truffles of your choice, which I think is acceptable. Their current price list (as of February 2018): Individual truffles -$2.35 per truffle Truffles in a box -1truffle: $3.45 – 2 truffles: $5.95 – 4 truffles: $10.65 – 8 truffles: $21.75 – 16 truffles: $39.95 – 32 truffles: $76.75 – 64 truffles: $143.00 You can choose a color of your box and of your ribbon. ****************************** If you found something useful in my review, please hit “useful” so that I can improve my reviews. XOX Truffles – Menu with Prices – 754 Columbus Ave, San Francisco

This quaint chocolate shop and cafe are one of the best little gems in North Beach and San Francisco overall! The window promos the shop as one of the best artisanal chocolates in the nation….and it’s no joke! This humble, little shop is manned by professional, French folks who specialize in their craft and their work really speaks for itself. I’ve tried pretty much of all their truffles, even the flavors I wouldn’t normally try. While I do have my favorites (dark chocolate, earl grey, mango), I have to say that each and every piece I’ve tried was delicious. I’ve also tried their truffles with their coffees and their hot chocolate (bitter), their drinks go really well with their truffles and are good enough on their own! Love the richness of their hot chocolate….interested in trying their Mexican hot chocolate and the white hot chocolate. I will most definitely be back for more!

Rapid Fired Pizza – Menu with Prices – 4100-B, Pelham Rd, Greenville

1st off: on the menu it says you can buy a 20 ounce pop. Pop. On the menu it says they have POP. Sorry, but I find that funny. Rapid Fired Pizza is a new fast counter service pizza place in Greenville on Pelham. They have a thin crust 11 inch pizza, a 9 inch thick crust, gluten free, and a couple of other crust options. 8 or so sauces, 8 meats, 14 to 20 vegetable selections (I do NOT consider mushrooms a vegetable btw nor will I eat them. They are repulsive little blobs of dirt, poo, and slime. I hate them…hate them. But I digress). After placing your order you slide down selecting sauces, cheese(s), meats, vegetables and so forth. After you get your drink (Pepsi drink machine, 120 choices though not as versatile as the big giant Coke one) or your 20 ounce bottle of…POP or beer your pizza is done. Pluses: reasonable prices…the pizza is tasty and the toppings are quite plentiful…Green olives are available…kalamata olives are available…chicken is a topping and you aren’t charged extra for it…many dipping sauces…helpful staff…music and video playlist consists of 80s music and the hits of today…POP. Minuses: it is cold in there. I mean, I liked it but my wife didn’t…even though it is on POPPelham the place isn’t easy to get into…music and video playlist consists of 80s music and the hits of today…giant Pepsi machine doesn’t allow for the multiple mix-n-match variations that the Coke one does…POP! Check Rapid Fired Pizza out.

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – 7494 Creedmoor Rd, Raleigh

I eat here once a week for lunch along with many employees in my office. The visit today will be my last. The short guy with thinning black hair is rude. The credit card machine malfunctioned and he mumbled “you broke my machine”. All I did was insert my card like the machine said. It could not read the chip, so it asked my to slide my card. When I slid my card it malfunctioned. He asked me to slide my card again, but slowly. Ok no problem. I slid my card slowly, but the machine asked me to insert my card. I inserted my card and the guy said something under his breath, but I didnt think much of it. Then the machine asked me to slide my card again and I did. It went through this time. As this guy handed me my receipt he said something to the effect of “why dont people understand how to use credit cards” under his breath. When I called him out on it he got quiet and started with his fake smiling.

Crave Hot Dogs and Barbecue – Menu with Prices – 6633 Spring Stuebner Rd, Spring

This place has kind of a man-cave hype about it with the hot dog and barbecue-based menu, which kind of sets one up for this amazing decadent experience. It’s not really ready for that kind of expectation yet, but it has just enough potential to make a critique worthwhile, so I’ll do that. I went in the other day for lunch, and was pretty hungry so I ordered both a Crazy Crave sandwich and a hot dog, with chips and a drink on the side, and the chocolate chip cookie for dessert. Started off a bit rough with the drink. It was a Coke Freestyle machine, and those are notoriously fussy. This one had spigot issues and spat a lot of soda against its back wall, but the Coke mix was actually OK. My sandwich came out first. A lot to like here. The Crazy Crave is pulled chicken and brisket. The brisket on the sandwich was flavorful and tender, which is not easy to do. But also something not to like–the bun was just a bit stale, and took away from the sandwich. Next up was the hot dog. You order a dog, then whatever you like on it. I wasn’t sure what to do so I ended up with bacon, grilled peppers and onions, and spicy pickles. The hot dog was a quality frank, great flavor. The pickles were fine. The bacon was “heating in the oven”, which was why the hot dog was delayed a bit (but not much). Oven-cooked bacon can be fine, but this was very thin and didn’t have much flavor. The grilled peppers and onions were a kind of disgusting goo, fortunately not enough of them to dominate the hot dog. The cookie was ok but chewy, not really worthwhile. Service was polite and the food came quickly. The beer wall is a cute idea though I did not partake. The bathroom was clean and ready. I think this place has a lot of potential but very uneven quality is holding it back. I hope they get it straightened out in time, it would be a good option to have in the area.

Huntington House, LLC – Menu with Prices – 5200 Huntington Ave, Newport News

This review is for their chocolate truffles where I did a bulk order for delivery to several recipients. Everyone that received them loved the taste of the truffles. This business is located in Newport News but most folks that received the truffles were on the Southside section of Hampton Roads. The process was easy. I decided on what I wanted to order, gave Robin and her team the addresses, and my hands were clean on getting these all delivered. This was a great spring/Mother’s Day gift to many women I do business with. All were grateful for the gesture and the folks at Huntington House made me look great. If you’re looking to make one or several people happy with a nice dessert/treat, I highly recommend Huntington House. The fact that they offered a delivery service made giving gifts so much easier!

Strawberry Fields Smoothies & Gelato – Menu with Prices – 1510 Colley Ave, Norfolk

I really hate to do this BUT unfortunately I have to . Let me start by saying SF is one of my Favorite small business in the area. I have been a faithful customer for the past two years . I had a very unfortunate experience with one of their employees a few minutes ago . I’m assuming she is a new employee because I never seen her before ( she has short black hair ) . When we entered the store she did not greet us , she actually presented us with a death stare ( however she greeted customers that came in after us how ironic ) . When it was time to check out I said oh may we get the student discount , she said we don’t have one . ( I was here on 8/29/19 and I used the student discount with my ODU ID ) . After I told her that I just used it she got a attitude and said ok , I can give you the EVMS student discount. Issues : no greeting , lying about discount and attitude I don’t appreciate the way that we were treated and I pray that the store has cameras with audio so that y’all can observe the interaction ( we were there on 8/31/19 around 5:00 PM ) If SF doesn’t want to apply student discounts there is no reason to offer it !!!

Spring Coffee And Tea – Menu with Prices – 2555 Main St, Irvine

This place is tucked in a small corner of the leasing office of the Main Village Apartments. A bit odd for a location, but hey, now you can get drinks while waiting at the leasing office lol. The staff was very nice and greeted us when we entered the office. There wasn’t a website, but I posted a picture of their menu. Prices are very reasonable and their coffee is already more legit than the Dandelion Cafe next to the 2603 office building/tower. Friend ordered the cappuccino with skim milk. She said it was decent. Pretty much what you expect a cappuccino to be at a small cafe. Still better than Dandelion lol. And the barista even made a cute leaf on top with the foam. They also provide soy and almond milk if you’re not into skim or whole milk for 50 cents extra. There’s a couple of chairs and tables to sit inside. And you get a discount if you’re a resident of the apartments! It’s next to the pool as well. Since it’s in an odd location, parking is either in the employee parking structure or the residents’ parking structure.

MISSION BBQ – Menu with Prices – 3515 Plank Rd, Fredericksburg

Great news…another business eatery in Fredericksburg. Unfortunately, it didn’t impress. So here’s my Yelp review in a nutshell. Chain restaurant with a ton of great memorabilia on the walls supporting military! But, they don’t give a military discount! You “support” our military, but don’t offer a military discount? I would HIGHLY suggest that you add that option. Otherwise, all I hear is a bunch of bologna propaganda! A 10% discount for active service members or veterans wouldn’t hurt. Even Wendy’s offers a 10% discount to service members, EMT, police and fireman. This is a great location in Fredericksburg. Nice decor, busy busy busy when we came, which means either people are loving it or at least trying it. My husband ordered the plate with 2 meats. Prices shown do NOT include a side, so it can get a bit pricey. He got the pulled pork and pulled chicken with a piece of cornbread. You get a scoop of each on a paper lined tray. I got the 1 meat plate with pulled pork, cornbread and a side of fries for us to split. There are a variety of sauces on the table to try out. I enjoyed my pork, but my husband found his to be fatty. The fries were very good! Cornbread was dry. Fountain machine in the lobby for unlimited refills of soda or tea. There is an option to pickup a glass bottle of soda at the entrance, in cool little retro bottles, which is nice. Beer on tap. Basic fast food honestly. Nothing to rave about. I would go there again, but I don’t see the ‘wow’ factor.

Costco Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3700 S Grange Ave, Sioux Falls

I had a very unpleasant experience at this warehouse on Sat 29 Sep. I tried to get change made to buy a bottle of KS water & a coke from the vending machines and 3 employees told me it was a “Costco corporate wide policy” that they were not allowed to make change. As I have literally been to hundreds of Costcos around the country and around the world this irked me because I know for a fact this is NOT TRUE. Ever since Costco dropped Coke for Pepsi in the food courts I have been getting change made at every Costco I go to so that I can buy coke b/c I do not like Pepsi. After I acknowledged okay this might be your warehouses policy I politely disagreed w/ 3 different employees that “not making change policy” is by NO MEANS a Costco corporate wide policy. Its totally fine this is their policy, warehouse managers have the right to make their own policies and if that is their policy fine that is their policy – HOWEVER, the fact that they continued to insist it was a company wide policy wasn’t even the most irritating part- the worst part was that all three employees became so rude & condescending towards me. I have NEVER been treated so poorly by any Costco employees. Literally in every other situation a warehouse does have some specific policy they tell me “well actually our policy is XYZ… but we can accommodate you this one time. Because you know Costco is supposed to be known for their extremely good customer service. (Well apparently all Costcos except Sioux Falls.) And FYI Sioux Falls: BOTH Fargo & Baxter made change for me w/ ZERO issues because “not making change for people” is YOUR policy – NOT a Costco corporate policy!!!

The Original Georgie’s Pizza & Subs – Menu with Prices – 1661 Carling Ave, Ottawa

I absolutely love there pizza. it’s flavourful and yummy. the only thing that’s really grinding my gears, is that they keep forgetting to give me the correct drink. I specifically said i would like some Pepsi throwback, but each time i’ve ordered it recently they’ve given me the wrong drink. It’s either Pepsi or Coke. I gave them a ring, and the lady on the phone said yes we have 3 Pepsi throwback, but when i rang back it was a totally different situation. She marked down Coke. I really don’t how they could confuse throwback for coke. There pizza is happiness on a, plate. You know explaining the same situation to one person that is bad at hearing english, and then talking to the manager knowing he knew what i was talking about,to then being transfered to some other guy, that was like it clearly says coke. I repeat no i said pepsi throwback. This went on for 5 minutes.
