I should start off by saying, that I had written a five star review from our last trip by months ago. At that point, it was my favorite moment so far. The location, the decor, and the staff were all great. Unfortunately, I most recent trip was not. We had some extended family with this, my mother-in-law, her mother, and my sister-in-law, as well as my wife and our kids. We came for dinner, and the service was atrocious. Our server, “C”, was either knew, extremely busy, or just the worst server we’ve ever had. Simply put, we did not get attended to, there was no play settings, salt and pepper, or menus on the table. on top of that, the food was made wrong, my son did not even get his food, and my gluten allergic sister-in-law had to order twice, both of which dishes came out wrong. Luckily, the manager Adam did everything he could to make it right. Thank you Adam, and we will be returning again, in the hopes that our service will be up to McMenamins standards.

Wood and Bean – Menu with Prices – 12971 State Hiway 64E, Tyler

Wood and Bean is my favorite coffee shop! Adam and Bridgette are the sweetest owners! Adam’s art work is simply beautiful. The service is consistently fantastic. I love the iced caramel macchiato. It is layered and a simply beautiful to look at it and an explosion of caramel in your mouth. The coffee is smoother than any I have had elsewhere. The shop is cozy and warm. There is a screened in patio for enjoying the East Texas trees. There are games to play to entertain young and old alike. So run, don’t walk, or drive quickly, but obay the speed limit, to Wood and Bean.

Harvard Soul Bistro – Menu with Prices – 317 E 200th St, Cleveland

This place has good food but bad service. My wife and I routinely get food from this restaurant on UberEATS (I recommend the Cajun Chicken Rolls and the Chicken and Waffles). Yesterday was the first time I had ever went into the restaurant. I had seen the previous reviews about service issues, but I made an effort to go in with an open mind. My sister and I sat at the bar and were immediately greeted and given a glass of water by the bartender. After giving us table settings and menus however, the bartender left the bar area and did not return for a solid 15 minutes. Once she did return, she did not even attempt to excuse her absence, instead asking us what we would like to order. I ordered a chicken and waffles (my favorite) and a drink called the “Bourbon St”. My sister ordered the cajun chicken rolls, greens, mac & cheese, and a house sangria. After 5 minutes of stirring about around the bar, the bartender put together my sister’s drink (she liked it). After another 7 minutes (and returning to me twice to ask what I ordered, at which point I showed her the ingredients on the menu) the bartender put together my drink (I liked it). After another 20 minutes, the food came (we enjoyed the food). After finishing our meal, I had to find another staff member to get a box for what we were taking and to get the bartender to come back and give us the check. The meal totaled just over $50. All in all, I can confirm the service issues that other reviews have mentioned. The place was not busy at the time (roughly 6 customers when we arrived). If I owned this place, I would be especially concerned with the bartending staff not being present at the bar. For any restaurant, the bar is where a lot of profit should be made (provided service is fast and efficient). I know we would have ordered more drinks if we would have gotten timely service.

El Mandilón – Menu with Prices – 1001 Cocoanut Ave, Sarasota

I wish I could give zero stars for this restaurant. This was one of the most strange and unprofessional experiences I’ve ever had at a restaurant. Originally the three of us wanted to sit inside, but the DJs music was blasting so loudly none of us could hear each other and opted to go outside instead. Our server must have been inexperienced. From the beginning, not a hello or hi. We asked for some waters just to start off with but our server just stood there for a second staring at us… When my friend DID order a margarita it took 15 minutes and was watered down. The food was the next issue. I ordered the salt fajitas with filet. I had asked for no beans. Our server replied “well it comes with beans”. I had to say “well I don’t really like beans….”. Finally he says “OHHH well would you like extra rice then?” “That sounds great, thanks”. But when the food comes out I did not receive any rice. My other friend ordered three different tacos but when the food came out for him they were all the same (the served later told us that he rang it in wrong) but he didn’t get any rice or beans either with his food. Our food was dry and needed more seasoning. We each had to go inside to get salt, pepper, and hot sauce because our server was nowhere to be found. When we were just barely finished, the server asked if we wanted our checks. We were going to order dessert, but that quickly changed our minds. It was a very unprofessional setting. We still paid for everything (with no discount) despite ALL the errors. We won’t be returning. We should have trusted the reviews. Service was bad and food was mediocre.

The Adams Street Cafe – Menu with Prices – 608 Adams St, Toledo

Good not great. On our family food road trip Adam’s Street Cafe missed the mark (what a bummer). To say that they “had me at” smoked pork taco would have been an understatement. We chose Adam’s street because of the interesting menu and the positive reviews in regards to the quality of food on the menu. Sadly on a family road trip to find a few of America’s hidden culinary treasures this choice was a miss. Please don’t get me wrong the food and atmosphere were perfectly pleasant (far better than the chain options found in almost even American city) but a hidden treasure this was not. As this was out last stop on a trek that took us from Michigan to: Cleveland, Pittsburgh, Youngstown, and finally Toledo our desire was to end our road trip with a bang. Our menu choices of smoked port taco, chicken ramen bowl, butter fries, and breakfast sandwich had us excited for the possibility that we had made another magnificent find. The unfortunate part was that with the exception to the breakfast sandwich we found every other menu item completely underwhelming. Overall the potential was there to have a flavor explosion and what we found was good food generally lacking salt, not even considering the lack of aforementioned flavor explosion. Was the smoked pork good? Yes. Were the butter fries good? Yes (but many over fried and oily). Other than the chicken being properly cooked The ramen bowl was down right blah. As far as the breakfast sandwich to be fair it was a breakfast sandwich with out any sizzle indicated in the menu. So as far as breakfast sandwiches go it was pretty good. After family review our consensus is that it would have been better if Adam’s Street Cafe paired the menu back and fully rocked a few menu items as opposed to the seemingly wide variety offered. Maybe it was an off day in the kitchen, but unfortunately our family was left wanting more and desiring to have the flavor explosion the menu and reviews suggested we would receive. As Toledo is not an annual stop I don’t think Adam’s Street Cafe will be a must return for us.

Cj Diamond Café Inc – Menu with Prices – 13174 41st Ave, Flushing

I love this place, the staff is kind and the bartenders are very attentive. Great Ambience, I like dimly lit settings. I learned how to play a few drinking games, made drinking super fun and before I knew it– it was 4am. Time flew. I’ll be returning. Overall, great experience.

Southern Classic Fried Chicken – Menu with Prices – 3651 Hollywood Ave, Shreveport

Well first off i love Southern Classic chicken i been going to this place since the hollywood location opened here lately i been going to the North Market location they are friendly at this location but here lately they have been putting so much salt on the fries you cant hardly eat/enjoy them so i decided i wanted to start getting fries with lite salt so went to north market location today 8/31 orderd my food and fries with lite salt and a pepper get home with my order no pepper and fries full of salt so i called the manager about the heavy salt she was so UNPROFESSIONAL i shared with her about the heavy salt and that i ordered lite salt on my fries and i got heavy salt plus i didnt get my pepper first she has me on speaker phone telling me that the girl can hear me while im talking about the pepper the manager also tell me that everyone in the world wants extra salt on their fries and that me and her might be the only 2 that like lite salt she also said that they cant controll how the seasoning come out the salt shaker because of the big holes and they dont even have a lite salt button so i might need to orfer my fries without salt because its no way i can get lite salt on my fries but to me why order a fry with out seasoning and the seasonings is wht make the fries good they just need to put the proper amount without over doing things but i wont go bk

Duc Chuong Arlington Menu with Prices 1818 E Pioneer Pkwy, Arlington

Let me start off saying that I hate giving bad reviews. Everyone deserves a chance and you know what, we gave them openings to make up for what happened on their own but nooo it didn’t work out that way. So our party of 4 came in and ordered 3 com ga roti, and one bun bo hue. The service was okay at first with two servers attending to us and one other table. They had nice upbeat viet music playing and just a chill vibe going on. Our food arrived in about 15 minutes which was to be expected. The bun bo hue arrived first and let me say, the large bowl always looks HUGE and delicious. My sister enjoyed it. The three plates of com ga roti came a couple minutes after. At first glance everything looks so good, a beautiful fried chicken half with fried rice and a colorful mixture of veggies. Gosh we couldn’t wait to dig in. The veggies were incredibly bitter, and too lightly dressed if at all while the chicken was cooked to perfection. Honestly that’s the reason they deserve a star. The sauce that accompanies the dish was… interesting but we had to ask for soy sauce because it was just too weird for us. Now the rice.. the rice was dry but that’s okay since its fried rice. What’s not okay is finding a piece of a metal dish scrubber in your rice. My mom felt something weird in her mouth and pulled out a curly metal piece of one of those pan scrubbers. When we addressed it to the waiter he took it and just walked off with out saying anything. He never returns and just goes back to the table he was sitting at to talk and eat with the other server. My sister had to go over there and ask for another serving of rice to replace the one my mom found the metal in. Now for some reason the viet music that was playing had turned off so we can hear the mexican music playing in the kitchen and the two servers talking smack about the rice and then returning to their table again. I get up to pay and have to walk to their table to get them. The server tells me the total which was for the 3 rice dishes and 1 noodle dish. I asked if they were really going to charge us like normal seeing as though we found a piece of metal in our rice. The server huffs, makes a face, realizes my sister is walking up to the counter to back me up, and then says he’ll take off a portion of rice. Honestly we would have been okay if they had at least apologized when we brought it up instead of ignoring the whole situation. If someone finds metal or anything that’s not food in their dish you should always apologize and try to be empathetic. What if that was your mother biting into a piece of metal in her rice? Would you be okay with the establishment ignoring you and trying to avoid dealing with it? I’m deeply disappointed.

Adams Kabab House – Menu with Prices – 1130 S Adams St, Glendale

Been to Adam’s several more times since the last time I updated my review. I noticed that the chubby lady server (who was sweet) and speaks good English is gone. She was never there in the last how many times we went there to eat. There was an older server after her, who was so nice & sweet, but a pain to talk to (can’t speak/understand English). There were 2 separate occasions when she had our orders wrong. The owner compensated in one occasion by giving us the wrong order for free, and still giving us the entree we wanted. 2 days ago we were there and there’s another server who’s probably in her 40’s-50’s. This new lady is not only hard of English, and her attitude did not compensate for this. We had guests who just moved to Glendale, and we brought them here in the hope that they would love Adam’s, be regular customers like us, and keep this small restaurant going. We take everyone we know to Adam’s. The last time we visited made us think twice if we should keep on doing this and here’s the reasons: 1. The availablity of entrees are hit or miss. Imagine going here for the lula kabobs, drving all the way from a far away place only to find out that at 4pm, the lula kabobs are not available? Or the seafood platter not available at 3pm? or 7pm? 2. There’s no coke, no sprite, pepsi nor 7up. They only have Armanian bottled water, Armanian flavored drinks and house water. 3. The shorter cook is good. He was there in the evening of Nov 29th, but the one who cooked for us is the taller guy and he makes BLAND food. uuuggh! You need to have consistency in the way you cook your food. It can’t be good today and bland 3 days from now. 4. Breads are served at soon as you order, which makes them cold by the time the entree are served. I asked the waitress to serve them with the entree so as not to get cold, but somehow, she still managed to serve us cold bread. And ugggh, Adam’s is back to their thin ugly tasting bread AGAIN WTF!!! 5. You need to teach everyone in your restaurant to learn how to greet customers and smile. When we went in, the waitress just looked towards our direction, and so did the cook. I smiled, but in return, we got stared down like we were from another planet. COME ON! THIS IS A RESTAURANT! LEARN TO BE PLEASANT! 6. HIRE ENGLISH-SPEAKING SERVERS! My goodness! It was frustrating to talk to non-english speaking waitresses in the past, but at least they were sweet and accommodating. The one we had on Nov 29th was not only English illiterate, she also had an attitude! 7. DO NOT ALLOW CUSTOMERS TO SMOKE INSIDE THE RESTAURANT! THERE’S OUTDOOR SITTING WITH TABLES, THAT’S WHERE THEY BELONG! I’ve always thought that the parking situation is the reason why Adam’s is never half full at every chance we dine in here. I think I know better now. It’s because of the INCONSISTENCY in service and in the taste of the food. I have been a regular customer for at least 3-.5 – 4 years now. I think I can write a fair review for Adam’s. Adam’s, you need to listen to your customers if you want to stay in business. Also, if you want to expand your business, you need to start by hiring English speaking servers. But, for today, please get rid of your think bread and bring back the thick ones. Don’t be too cheap.

Hot Pancakes – Menu with Prices – 3601 N Jupiter Rd, Richardson

I really do not have complaints about the food, but the service was terrible. We arrived at 9:30am. We had to clear our own table to sit down. Once we were seated, no one came to greet us or bring us menus. At 9:45 I went to the counter to ask for a menu and was told that someone would be there soon. A few minutes later a teenager came to take our drink order, but we still had no menus. A family of four walked in at this time. They were seated immediately at a clean table, had drinks, menus and placed their order before we received our menus. We finally got our menus and placed our order as the family of four received their hot food. Im sure that they had a decent experience, but they had a different server. Our food came to the table one plate at a time. I had to get up to ask for forks. Then had to get up again to ask for butter. I honestly felt at that point that we should have stayed home for breakfast. As easy as it is to blame the teenagers, the truth is, the management is greatly lacking. The kids will do what they are trained and supervised to do. The place has potential, but until they get some strong management in place and train the servers in proper service, they won’t be more than a 1 star joint.

TTT Mexican Diner Menu with Prices 2900 Wilson Blvd Suite 103, Arlington

Went here a few weeks ago. Unfortunately, not a good experience. While we were seated near the bar, we were not served. After about 10 minutes wondering if anyone noticed us I pulled over a server asking if anyone would serve us. The server is the reason I am going from 1-2 stars. It was not his table and he ended up taking our order for the entire night after multiple apologies. Being very aware, he provided us free drinks at the end of the meal which I appreciate. The server who was assigned to our table showed up about 5-10 minutes later, dropping off chips and asking if we needed menus, unaware of the situation. While the server who attempted to save the night helped as much as he could, the food was simply bland and overpriced. While the guacamole was good, yet small for the money, we got three different tacos ranging from okay to meh. Adding to that was the loud noise and poor lighting making it hard to enjoy dinner. I appreciate the server for attempting to save the experience, but ultimately the food is what people come for and don’t come for.

Naughty Monk Brewery – Menu with Prices – 2507 Lakewood Ranch Blvd, Bradenton

My first visit; will not return. Not enough bartenders(2) and with no wait staff you can expect to wait a disappointing 20-30 mins for a brew. Yes Thursdays are busy. It’s when you can’t even get to the bar to order, I tried to order from 3 different ends of bar. The men are locked into their brews. There are no signs “order here”. Expect no beer menus on the table (no pxs on menu either) don’t sit at a table, you will have to make a few attempts to get a brew yourself. Upon returning to my table empty handed, a bartender had approached my girlfriend asking if she needed a menu. Now why would you come to a table without one? Expect another 10 mins to see that !! When you finally get a beer at the bar expect to have that just one. The attempt to retrieve another will plain exhaust you and leave you thirsty. I feel bad the owners are losing out on customers as well as profits..without staffing. You have less than 10 mins to make a customer want to come back. These two ladies will not. The interior is great, the music a plus, but 5 little kids under 6 running laps turned the brewery into a daycare!!! The pizza food truck outside had better service with menus on the table. They bring your food to you!! I wish them much success and hope I got them on a bad night. After all they still are in business. Give them a try. Things may be better for you. For me, It was like getting in the wrong shopping lane on this visit.

Legends at Bennett Valley Events – Menu with Prices – 3328 Yulupa Ave, Santa Rosa

Zero Stars. Yes you heard right. Zero. Mother’s Day at Legends was the worst experience at a restaurant I have ever had. Our son took my wife and I for Mother’s day. First of all when he made the reservation, no one mentioned that it was a special mother’s day brunch. They told him that they only had 9 am available. We got up early on Sunday, Mother’s day holiday to get to breakfast. We all arrived to find out there were plenty of other empty tables we could have arrived much later. The room was cold and the tables had absolutely nothing on them. No table settings ,water , flowers etc.. completely bare. We sat down and a waiter comes up to us and says. Can I get you a drink. We ordered orange juice, mimosas. Then he says to us to “go get your food “. Crazy. ..we all return and start to eat. Scrambled eggs were cold, potatoes were cold, the sausages were hard, the waffles were hard. The kids had to use a knife to cut the waffles. The orange juice tasted like it was watered down..prime rib sucked.and they had the audacity to charge almost $40.00 a head. Legends,. Please if you can’t pull off a buffet.. Don’t try to do it. Also let people know when they make a reservation that it has a special menu that day. We just wanted a normal breakfast. We feel totally ripped off.. get it together Legends.
