I’ve been back every week for the past few weeks if that tells you anything! I managed to snag some coworkers to come this time, and they all loved it as well. My favorite thing right now is the torta al pastor. It has absolutely wonderfully soft bread, toasted just enough, with a large pile of their delicious meat. I wish I knew the guys name who always takes my order (he is super nice), I’ll have to ask next time, but he suggested he’d make me a shrimp ranchero taco (not on the menu). Perfection, can’t wait to have it again! One of my coworkers got a tostada that he definitely recommends and we tried a couple of the tortilla wrapped bacon jalapeno poppers which were fantastic. Already excited to go back next week, I should try something new… but that torta has my heart.

Mariscos Los Lechugas – Menu with Prices – 5244 Huntington Dr S, Los Angeles

We buy from here at least every week if not every other week! But their fish tacos are BOMB!!! Today I actually tried their shrimp taco and that was really good as well! (I had actually order fish tacos but they gave me shrimp but no complaint because it was good.) I think they have one of the best fish tacos that you can find! Their mix tostada is really good too! I like that their salsa size to go for there tacos is really reasonable, their not stingy with it. The tostadas sauce is Smaller but I’d say it’s still enough. If your craving fish tacos I honestly recommend you to come here. They sometimes do run out of Fish for their tacos, but just call ahead of time and they’ll let you know. It’s not even summer and you’ll see this place always having people. Their friendly and not mean, I’ve never encountered bad service here so hope you don’t either. Most of all I really like that it’s a food truck because you can see what they do. I recommend you to come and try these delicious tacos!

Samantha’s Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2518 E North St, Greenville

I went here today after my partner was recommended it by her coworker as being a really good, solid authentic Mexican restaurant in the area. We got a lengua taco, a torta al pastor, and the chicken chilaquiles. The lengua taco was delicious, if a bit small, because the meat was actually crisp and charred. It’s such a good departure from the blandish boiled lengua that I’ve had at many other places. The torta had soft, crispy bread, great pork and just overall delicious. It is also substantial and made a great meal. By the time we got to the chilaquiles, I admit we were almost full from sharing the taco and torta. The chilaquiles were doused in sauce–maybe a little too much sauce for my liking–but it was still done well because you still had some crispiness in the tortilla pieces. Overall, it’s not my favorite chilaquiles, and I probably wouldn’t get it again, but it was still enjoyable. In general, I’d come here for tortas and possibly try the burritos next. I’m excited to try more dishes from here since it’s only about 2 miles from where I live.

Taco Truck of Dos Hermanos Menu with Prices 221 W Valley Ave, Birmingham

I have finally hunt this food truck down and the hype is real – everything I got was delicious and best of all, very reasonably priced! Make sure you bring cash because they don’t take card, but for ~$10 you can be get a bangin’ meal. Between my friend and I we ordered: 2 tostada civeche, 1 asada (steak), 1 pollo (chicken), 1 barbacoa (lamb), 1 chorizo, and 2 buche (pork belly) which all came out to $18. Tacos are $2, Tostada are $3 each (minimum of 2 for to go orders) We got it to go and took it to Railroad Park to eat. I got the pollo and buche tacos and I loved the flavor of the pollo taco! It was super flavorful and not dry at all. The buche was also good but not as inherently flavorful as the pollo. My tostada was also very good and I’m glad they put the tortilla chips on the side so it didn’t get soggy during transport. My friend’s favorite taco he got was the lamb barbacoa, but he loved all of them. Overall, would recommend coming to check this gem out! Hands down the best AND most affordable tacos in town!

El Dorado Authentic Mexican Food – Menu with Prices – 311 Palomar St, Chula Vista

El Dorado is one of my favorites out of the many excellent under-the-radar Chula Vista Mexican restaurants that need to be getting more love than they do. They serve a fantastic “Shrimp Taco” owing mainly to their sizable shrimp, sweet and clean, battered and deep-fried until crispy. Slaw and white sauce on top are on-point and applied in reasonable ratios, and the red sauce from the salsa bar is pure fire and must be added. The “Fish Taco” is the same thing, but with fish instead of shrimp. It’s a decent fish taco, but it doesn’t work as well as the shrimp does. What you must really get here, however, are the “Camarónes a la Diabla,” a dish consisting of taut prawns in a spicy, rich, and garlicky sauce of roasted tomatoes and chipotle peppers. In San Diego, I have never eaten a superior version of this coastal classic than what is served at El Dorado with rice, refried beans, and fresh avocado to take off some of the fiery bite. I want you to love this place, so I must manage expectations appropriately: El Dorado is a low-key and quiet “mom ‘n pop” restaurant in a small strip mall, probably more ideal for lunch than dinner. Food/Décor/Service: 4.5/2.9/NA #SummerOfTastyTacos – Taco Tracker: https://bit.ly/2IHTmfY Taco Score: Shrimp Taco (92/100), Fish Taco (80/100) What to Order: Camarónes a la Diabla, Shrimp Taco

Mariscos Fili La Carreta – Menu with Prices – 652 Broadway, Chula Vista

We love the street food here. The fish tacos are super inexpensive and super good. Two tacos make for a satisfying lunch.I especially love their shrimp tostada. It is basically a generous shrimp ceviche served with two fried tortillas. The ceviche is loaded with marinated shrimp plus diced fresh tomatos, and cucumbers. We come here about once a week. You can have an ample breakfest, lunch or diner for under $6 per person.

Green Deli Tortas Factory – Menu with Prices – 41653 Margarita Rd suite 106, Temecula

We are big fans of torta’s. Saw the advertisement on facebook. So we had to try it out. When we arrived we were not greeted right away. We rang the little bell and someone came from the back and greeted us. Menu was very straight foward, no excitement about it. Place was very clean and spacious. Husband got the ham torta and I tried the milanesa. My bolio was a little burnt. Milanesa stated it was going to come with jalapenos but my didn’t I had to ask for them. The ham torta had about 1 or 2 slices of meat. And we got the full torta. The corn in the cup was decent not the best. Fresa con crema were okay. Some strawberry were old and some were firm. Not sure if I’d go again.

Ensenada’s Surf N Turf Grill – Menu with Prices – 2931 Nutwood Ave, Fullerton

We recently moved from Bellflower, and we used to always go to Taco Nazo, which is well known for their fish tacos. Now that live in Anaheim, we were looking for a fish taco place that would be comparable to our old spot. Baja California definitely is on par with them! We ordered a grilled fish taco combo, shrimp ceviche tostada, and three more fish tacos on the side. It came out to a little over $20 for everything. Let me tell you, their shrimp ceviche was AMAZING. I work next to a market that has a specialty ceviche bar, but Baja California’s ceviche was way better, and cheaper too. It comes with two tostadas and a good amount of ceviche, topped with avocado. I’d come back just for that! They have their ceviche making station right next to the cashier so you can see them make it. It seemed like every single person ordered ceviche, lol. The grilled fish tacos were delicious as well. The fish was a good size, not too small. I always end up taking off one tortilla since it comes with two just because I feel it’s too much, but that’s just personal preference. The rice and beans were alright, nothing too special. I really like how they have a station where you can get your own lime and chiles. The only downside is we’re used to them being served freshly grilled and warm, and these were cold, but they still tasted good. Perfect accompaniment to the tacos. Their food is reasonably priced ($8-$9 for a 2 taco combo). They had a lot of seating and the tv was showing the football game, which was a plus. We will definitely be back, gotta try the fried fish tacos next time!

Sweetwaters Hahne Bldg – Menu with Prices – 52 Halsey St, Newark

Perfect shop for downtown Newark. Small, quaint and delicious coffee. And the staff are S U P E R accommodating and VERY nice. I usually get the Crème Caramel with almond milk until one of the SUPER DUPER nice baristas (I don’t know her name but will update when I find out) suggested I try the oat milk. It must be popular because when I ordered it recently, they were out of oat milk. I jokingly offered to buy them some oat milk from the Whole Foods next door in the Hanhe building. Instead, it was made with the almond milk. And the same barista suggested the organic agave to sweeten it up a little with a piece of the coffee cake. Hot perfection after the perfect workout at Planet Fitness. I can’t wait until my workout is complete tomorrow for some oat milk PERFECTION! And that awesome barista.

The Seafood Company – Menu with Prices – 4775 E Kings Canyon Rd, Fresno

We found out about this place because they are on the news and we decided to drive from out of town to try. The food looked good and We like to try new places. The reviews on here are really really good. So maybe we were expecting some out of this world seafood. We got a little of everything We ordered shrimp tacos, they were out of the crab tostada so we got the ceviche tostada ,fried shrimp, fish and chips, a carne asada burrito and a burger with Fries ….I never had shrimp tacos quite like these. The shrimp was fried and chopped up into small tiny pieces on two tortillas it came with pico on the side and that’s it! Very plain in my opinion could have used some cabbage some sauce or salsa and a piece of lemon. The shrimp ceviche was ok. The burger was big and came with good fries my son ate it all. The fish has a good spicy taste but had some bones still In it. My mom ordered 1/2 pound of fried shrimp she had a choice from the small medium or large. She went with the medium, but the shrimp was pretty small came with veins but we didn’t care we still ate it lol. None of the seafood came out with lemon so maybe you have to ask for it. The carne asada burrito was ok. We all agreed the best thing we liked was that it was inexpensive. We left pretty happy about that! Overall we enjoyed a inexpensive meal. They also have a fish market counter and a very nice young lady attending the counter.

Tacos Mi Tierra – Menu with Prices – 1416 Derry St, Harrisburg

I want to start this review by mentioning that I REALLY wanted this place to be good. It had every sign to me that it would be an excellent restaurant! I was sorely mistaken. I will start as always with Laura’s nut allergy/cross contamination awareness. They were very understanding and didn’t have much of anything in the store that had nuts (Laura will can die if she eats any nut). Only things in the restaurant were some wrapped pastries that were separate from the kitchen itself. The cashier was very kind and seemed genuinely concerned when we made her aware. A+ on the allergen awareness part of this pop quiz. We enjoyed the regular chips and salsa which were fine. They had nothing special about them, nothing bad either. We trudged on. Our food came out rather promptly which made sense to me since we were the only patrons at the time. (we came some time between lunch hours and dinner hours) We got shrimp tacos, a crab tostada, a chicken taco, a side of rice and beans, and a veggie quesadilla. I would love to say that any of it was worth more than it was. I doctored the living crap out of the shrimp tacos with salsa and hot sauce in the hopes to get ANY more flavor into them but all efforts to save the poor things were beaten by the fact the the shrimp had texture (tough and rubbery) and NO taste. Laura’s chicken taco was just as overcooked and tasteless. Next was the crab tostada. It was terrible. I could pick the dish apart piece by piece but that would be pointless. It was hardly palatable. The veggie quesadilla could be choked down but I am never one to be happy paying for food i can just hardly “Choke down”. The rice and beans were the final straw and I’m positive we left with a copious amount of food still on our plates and nothing but upset stomachs to show for our culinary adventure. This place gets two stars simply because I hope they see this review and decide to try a bit harder. Your staff seemed nice and you were all very accommodating to my girlfriends allergy. The food just needs to improve. BIG TIME
