When it’s that cold time of the year this is where I head for my favorite champurrado in town — currently costs $2.50, bring cash. Their carnitas tacos aren’t bad either. Service is polite and bi-lingual (English and Spanish) and there is indoor or outdoor seating available. There seems to always be a few cars outside of this taco truck, I think it’s because the food appeals to everyone, tastes way better than taco bell, and is more authentic in its offerings.Negative: beware of the big potholes driving up to the taco truck.Bottom line, if you find yourself driving by hungry, stop and give it a try — you may be pleasantly surprised. At the very least, from November – March get the champurrado, it’s delicious!

jessicas Tacos – Menu with Prices – 1100 Crows Landing Rd, Modesto

// Overall: RECOMMENDED! // I love Mexican food, and this taco truck is no exception– not only does it have a sister taco truck on 8th street, but it is extremely affordable! Nothing is even remotely shady– considering the taco truck stereotype is rather negative, sadly– about anything except perhaps the general area of both locations, as there can be some more interesting people about. If one can get past that, I would say that this is the best Modesto taco truck to go to! The verdict on the burrito: it is absolutely delicious, although it can have its bad days– and its bad days come a little more often than appreciated. The meat is most often warm, juicy, and extremely savory. The tortilla, depending on the location, can be either flawlessly cooked or too floury. The beans, rice, and various other ingredients are usually spot on! The tortas can be slightly too saucy, but still great. However, the tacos are the selling point– they’re 50 cents to a dollar, and on Taco Tuesdays even cheaper!! Squirt some lime on them, and you have a perfect snack, or even a dinner if you buy enough! Truly, this place is great if you live nearby– and if not, it’s definitely worth the small trip!

The Tin Man Grill(Food Truck/Tacos) – Menu with Prices – 7767 Five Mile Rd, Cincinnati

Tin Man Grill Review Tacos are among the world’s most perfect food. The taco offers a culinary canvas of unlimited possibilities and incredible potential. Tacos, like pizza, can be be good even when they are bad. They can be authentic or creative but they are almost always delicious. Tin Man Grill, a food truck based in Anderson Township, is a revelation. While not authentic, you’ll want to head to Tacos Locos in a parking lot in Pleasant Ridge for the best authentic tacos in town, they are unique and delicious. Tin Man Grill is no ordinary food truck. Instead of being housed in something resembling a repurposed UPS truck, Tin Man is operating out of a gorgeous refurbished 1950’s era Spartan Manor camper. The shiny metal glistens in the sun, a shiny beacon summoning hungry diners. But this is not just a fancy trailer. As you approach you are tantalized by the unmistakable aroma of smoked meat. It fills the air around the silver trailer upping the anticipation. You see, Tin Man is serving delicious, fresh chicken and pork tacos smoked to perfection in dual Big Green Eggs. The results are stunning as the pulled meats are moist, flavorful, and infused with smoke. The menu is simple, but do not think that will make your decision easy. Grilled Pork Tacos. Pineapple pork tacos. Grilled strawberry chicken taco. Chicken avocado taco. And Sweet. Potato. Taco. Yes, Sweet. Potato. Taco. It’s as weird and delicious as it sounds. The smoked meats and tasty potatoes are paired with delicious, fresh, house-made toppings, salsas, veggies, sauces and cheese. Everything on the taco tastes clean, fresh, and serves to add to the flavor of the taco. Despite having strong flavors like pineapple, strawberry, and cilantro the flavor of the smoked meats still stands on its own. It’s evident that these recipes were carefully thought out to let every flavor work together and for each one to shine. I did not ask for any substitutions, nor would I recommend any unless of course you do not like a specific ingredient. I cannot stress how fresh and clean everything from Tin Man Grill tastes. It’s also worth noting that after eating here I felt great, not like eating a cheap, greasy Taco Bell taco. This is fresh, real food. It’s also worth noting that everything is prepared quickly. Often food trucks can take awhile as the foods are freshly prepared, but here the prep was fast and efficient and the result was delicious. Tin Man Grill is doing some interesting, compelling, and delicious things with the taco medium. I’d highly recommend checking them out if you enjoy tacos or just enjoy delicious food made by friendly folks, in a cool camper in a parking lot, office complex or festival near you.

Taco Bell – Cantina – Menu with Prices – 19 N Market St, San Jose

Out of the many fast food options, Taco Bell is probably one of the few that I actually enjoy. I’ve heard about their Cantina’s before with locations in San Francisco and Las Vegas but never came across the opportunity to visit. Now a Taco Bell Cantina is basically a neighbor! Self-service kiosks, boozy freezes, open kitchen, and a modern interior feel this sit-down Taco Bell is definitely a level above the rest. Located close to San Pedro Square and next to a Tiki Bar this is a perfect location whether you are out bar hopping and looking for some late-night drunchies or get a panging hunger for a crunch wrap supreme and a beer. Came in on a Friday night, which so happened to be the day after the release of their Cheddar Toasted Chalupa so I of course ordered that with beef, their Baja Blast with alcohol and a regular crunchy taco. Cheddar Toasted Chalupa – super crispy, cheddar on the exterior of the chalupa gave it extra flavor and funk. The chalupa is bready and a perfect vessel for holding together the beef, lettuce and tomato without becoming soggy. Pretty good! If you’re a fan of parm crisps, you’ll enjoy this! Doritos Locos Cool Ranch Taco – tasted the same as any other DoLo taco you can get at Taco Bell Frozen Baja Blast – with alcohol; you can choose an option of tequila, vodka or rum. I got tequila, but kind of wish I opted for vodka. For those wonder, it tastes EXACTLY how you think it tastes. Long story short, you can make this at home … but hey, when in Rome – I mean at Taco Bell Cantina. Service was quick and they call out orders by name as well display ready orders on a monitor. Menu contains a few items not found at other Taco Bell locations and also serve boozy freezes, coffee and beer. Clean interior and the tables have outlets. Only downside is the place is a bit small so it gets crowded quick. Security is also present, caught a few guests trying to bring their boozy baja blasts outside. This isn’t Vegas, y’all. My new favorite addition to DTSJ for sure!

Student Center – Menu with Prices – 5221 Gullen Mall, Detroit

This is by far the worst Taco Bell out there! I’ve been to plenty of taco bells in state and out and this is the worst I have seen. I attend Wayne state and am on campus 4 days a week and go to this tacobell sometimes up to 2 or 3 times a week and almost every time I go something goes wrong! My cheesy bean and rice burrito has had the wrong sauce it comes with several times, I have ordered cheese quesadillas because I’ve vegetarian and have gotten chicken, my tortilla she’ll in the Mexican pizza and the crunch wrap supreme have been completely stale!! It is very unclean I have gotten beef in my nacho cheese sauce? I mean is it that hard to run a Taco Bell the right way. I love ordering food from here and walking all the way across campus a 10 15 minute walk and than sitting in class to find my food is made completely wrong or has meat in it and so I cannot eat it and have to wait till after class or walk all the way back to get it made right! and than the workers act as if it’s my fault the food was made wrong and give an attitude!! If the food being made wrong 90 percent of the time wasn’t bad enough, the workers are ridiculous, super rude and slow and must hate their lives. They do not say sorry when food is made wrong and just seem very annoyed or irritated that they have to take your order? you work at a campus you are going to be busy find a different job if you hate it that much and can’t give good customer service. Also, the wait for this Taco Bell is ridiculous, I sometimes wait up to 20 minutes for a burrito, I understand the line gets long and it gets busy but so does other taco bells and I never have to wait that long for fast food? Get more people on the line or something, especially at a college customers have to get to class! The only reason this Taco Bell is doing good is because it is at a university. Absolutely ridiculous place service food, all around! wish I could give it zero stars.

Bonito Michoacan – Menu with Prices – 1150 Minnesota Ave, Kansas City

For what it’s worth, this wildly authentic taco shop/bodega is affordable, fast-ish, and just good enough. I wouldn’t go out of my way for a taco anytime soon, because the neighborhood is a bit on the sketch side. But the Al Pastor is great, and their sauces are really clean and hot! The Asada during my visit tasted like plastic, and the carnitas were bland. But the tortilla’s were right where they needed to be to make it all pull together. You’ll stand in line for quite some time on the busy days – which seems like always. But when you get to the window, it’s over fast, and then you’re eating. You pay at the counter in the grocery store, next to the bubble gum and cigarettes – a bit weird, but bodega’s are like that. Like I said, it wasn’t even close to the best taco I’ve ever had, but it is authentic and very fresh.

Bomb Azz Tacos – Menu with Prices – 2300 E 7th St, Long Beach

First things first …..if you’re driving along 7th street looking for this place at night and accidentally drive right by it…. you’re not the only one lmao. Once you find a parking spot somewhere in front of the liquor store and make your way to the taco truck you’ll notice a couple tables and chairs out side for people to eat after you get your meal. I ordered their well known “Bomb Azz street taco” with Carne Asada for two and two Al Pastor ones after seeing the Al Pastor being freshly cooked on a spit with a half cut pineapple on top. Waited for about 7 minutes before my order came out. The tacos came out fresh on a corn tortilla with some melted cheese and some guacamole on them as well. The next step was to sauce them up at the small little sauce bar they had to the left of the truck. They had the usual green chili verde sauce and the infamous red sauce. I stuck to the green sauce. Upon first bite you get a little bit of everything in one bite. Not to mention these tacos are a little big, similar to the authentic tacos you’d find in Mexico. The tacos had a lot of flavor and definitely hits the spot after a long day at work. Washed it all down with some horchata and called it a night. If you’re in the area, I definitely recommend trying this spot out and let me know what you think.

Tacos Degollado – Menu with Prices – 1717-1815 University Ave, Des Moines

The food at this taco truck is good, I use to go here a lot they stuff the tacos with a lot of meat and really tasty, but recently the quality of the food has gone down, the difference between them and now is that the meat seems to be dry and the tortillas are almost hard everything that I go there, the sauce containers are not even filled half way the price for a asada taco is still pretty cheap compared to other ones that are normally $2 a taco here they are $1.50 each, it think they would be the top taco place in town of they focused a little more on the quality of food like they use to, from what I can see it seems to be pretty clean on the inside, parking is ok it gets crowded sometimes during lunch time, overall good taco truck.

Tacos Fiesta Mexicana – Menu with Prices – 4200 Peralta Blvd, Fremont

OK, first and foremost I’m not ashamed, I’m not scared, nor am I intimidated to order food from a food truck. Such mixed feelings when it comes to food trucks… I get it, I’ve heard many war stories from co-workers about the thin line you walk when ordering food from a food truck. I’ve been told to never eat from a food truck on Mondays because they use the remnants of the weekend’s leftovers, I’ve been told there all just glorified “roach coaches”, yadda yadda yadda blah blah blah and that could all be true, but not at Fiesta Mexicana….I think…..I hope. When it comes to taco trucks, Fiesta Mexicana is legit! I keep it pretty simple and straightforward. I’m not a taco truck connoisseur, nor do I go to multiple locations unless I’m captivated by the scent of a lone taco truck grilling up some carne asada from afar. Usually while I’m washing my car or waiting outside of a local DMV office. For the most part only one, this one, and it’s usually when I’m fresh off work. I come here when I have a specific taste for street style carne asada tacos and to my delight Fiesta Mexicana usually comes through with piping hot well garnished corn tortillas stuffed with carne asada, cilantro, onions and a combination of pickled jalapeños and carrots. A quick lunch fix with hard to beat prices. $1.75 for a taco…Not bad in my opinion. Fiesta Mexicana is a clean, well kept, consistent taco truck that offers tacos, burritos, quesadillas to the local Fremont community. Keep up the good work Fiesta Mexicana for I am a repeat offender. p.s.- CASH ONLY

Dos Hombres – Menu with Prices – 49 W Maryland St, Indianapolis

Serviceable. I love a good, authentic taco. While having the credentials to present as such, Dos Hombres didn’t deliver. The tortillas were stale and lifeless. The chipotle chicken was flavorful enough to work, but didn’t excite the taste buds. I think with a little work, they could be great. Finding an audience for their food in the Circle Centre food court might be causing some issues. Most people in the food court headed for the Chick-Fil-A. When you don’t have a steady turnover of ingredients, it’s hard to make things fresh. The biggest strike came in that I ordered 3 tacos, which per the menu is $10.96. But the cashier said I owed $14. Not sure where that discrepancy came in at. I felt like it was pretty intentional, though, because they were having a slow night and she wanted to up charge to try and make up for it. I probably won’t try Dos Hombres again. It’s worth a gamble if you’re in Circle Centre and craving something other than Taco Bell. But there are a ton better authentic taco choices around the city.

The little taco – Menu with Prices – 407 Hope Mills Rd, Fayetteville

Used “The Little Taco” for my son’s engagement party…it was a hit! Truck was on time and great customer service. Family owned and operated business who serve fresh, cooked to order, inexpensive, authentic Mexican food. The families at the party were mainly from Texas and California so having “The Little Taco” drive up and cook a good meal was like being home!

La Cabana Latin Grill – Menu with Prices – 7116 S Dixie Hwy, West Palm Beach

I’m all about finding the really good authentic places to eat and I’m not afraid to try them. This place really surprised me. It was real. That is the only way to describe it. Looks can be deceiving and that applied here. From the outside it is clean but they don’t spend their money on flash… They do it with the food… It was heaven… I had the Chicken and Asada tacos and ordered an additional chicken taco… We happened to go on taco tuesday so the prices were low $2 each. My friend had a Cuban sandwich, my wife also had a chicken taco and her son a burrito… Everything was so fresh and tasty… I would definitely go back if I have the chance.
