I really wish I didn’t like the Walmart Neighborhood Markets as well as I do. Walmart is notorious for putting these little markets in, running all of the local business out, and then leaving food desserts. That said, you can’t beat the prices and the convenience of these stores. It is a real quandary for me. This particular store is always well stocked and has a nice supply of produce, fresh meats, and dairy, as well as a nice sized deli and bakery. The one thing I really like about these little markets is that the parking lots are always clean and well maintained. So – if you need to pick up something quickly and can stomach the politics of Walmart, you’ll find a nice little market here. If you are a staunch believer in shopping local, this is not the store for you.

Gastronome European Grocery and Deli – Menu with Prices – 2707 NE 114th Ave, Vancouver

Great find! If you are looking for some European foodstuffs, this is a good place to check out. Not a huge store but I’d say medium-sized, well organized and clean. The lady working there was so very friendly and helpful to the customers coming through. They had a good variety of both canned & dry goods, snacks, candy, teas/beverages along with a small refrigerated section with some cold/dairy items. They also have a deli counter with meats/sausages sold by the pound and freshly baked breads, beautiful cakes and some other fresh baked food items (I didn’t see a sign on them behind the counter but there appeared to be some kind of piroshki which is a dough stuffed with a variety of fillings). The prices were comparable to other European markets in the area. There also seems to be a little coffee shop at the rear of the store but I’m not sure if the cashier for the market makes the coffee as well or how that works. No one was in the coffee shop area when we were in the store.

Walmart Bakery Menu with Prices 8300 W Overland Rd, Boise

A 5 star gas station? YES! Imagine walking into your favorite go to gas station. You walk in, get a pop or maybe a snack and you get to the register and you pay for your items. You know that you are paying higher prices than you could if you went to a big box grocery store, but it’s “convenient”, right? Well, think about paying the “Everyday Low Price” of Walmart inside that “convenient” store. That’s right, at Walmart’s fuel station you get Walmart prices… Need milk? $1.88 not $2.99 like other stores! Also, they have fun stuff from the main store such as: Deli food, yogurts, eggs, bakery items– all at the low Walmart price. They have everything that traditional stations have plus more, but lower prices. I am a fan of Walmart Fuel Stations!

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 10237 Bay Pines Blvd, St. Petersburg

My son and I popped in to this Walmart on a rainy Sunday afternoon, and let me tell you something, their service was spot on! As soon as we entered we were welcomed into a well stocked, well staffed, bubbling store. Everything we needed we found easily. Upon check out, there were two team members directing customers to the available self check out lines, and to assist if there were any problems. Outstanding ? Even in the parking lot, there were NO carts around cars or pent up in the corrals- this store was running like a well oiled machine today. We enjoyed our shopping and will be back. I genuinely like shopping here. The store is new and is just kept very nice. The employees do seem pleasant for the most part. I expect some things to be typical of Walmart and I don’t look for help though, and am willing to just find things myself. It’s an adventure. The selection is always massive, there is always new interesting things to find. Store displays always look nice. Prices are lower than anywhere else. This store has everything you could ever want. I have nothing but nice things to say.

Sprouts Farmers Market – Menu with Prices – 1240 S Signal Butte Rd, Mesa

Sprouts tend to be on the smaller side of grocery stores, more along the lines of a neighborhood Walmart. This location is no exception to the size rule. It is a brand new location having opened in the past couple months so everything is super clean, very new and still beautiful. This location has an outside enclosed seating area as part of its little cafe eat in area. The store is laid out pretty nicely in regard to shopping. At the front you have thd bread section, then the deli area, the fresh meat area, then produce, then freezer area on the outside perimeter. In the center area you have bulk goods, additional produce. In a corner on the opposite side of the front of the store you have the section for cleaning, beauty, etc. Next to the freezer area is the section for dry goods. The store was very clean, everyone seemed to be doing their assigned responsibilities, and everyone appeared happy. I needed assistance finding some things and the employees were cheerfully helpful. I found the prices to be on the higher side for many of the exact same product at other stores. I really dislike when stores do this. Overall everything was very fresh. I still needed to go to another store to finish shopping for additional items I needed or that that just didn’t carry due to their smaller store footprint.

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 7400 Blackmon Rd, Columbus

Neighborhood Markets have become my newly found favorite grocery stores ever since living in an area without a local grocery store and only a Neighborhood Market. I was thrilled to see they recently built a Neighborhood Market near Exit 10 since I moved back to the Columbus area. This location is very clean with amenities such as curb-side pick-up, a drive-through pharmacy, and a Walmart gas station. The produce here also has a high turnover rate so everything is usually very fresh. I’ve only had one issue here with bread molding after a few days of having it but I brought it back and easily swapped it out for a new loaf. Regardless, I LOVE this market. It’s beautiful and very well presented with a great selection. I avoid the Commissary on Fort Benning like the plague so I drive 15 minutes for this Market. I absolutely love it and so will you.

Moran’s Market – Menu with Prices – 1576 Forest Ave, Portland

A market with everything I suspect this small market has been around for years and probably hasn’t changed much. One of the nice things about these small, old fashion markets is that you can find just about anything crammed inside. Not only the usual basic commodities but all kinds of booze, some local and some more common, as well as lots of other drinks and snacks. Of course the really nice things about markets like this is that they usual have a great deli that offers great sandwiches.and other tasty things. Here at Moran’s they even have some pizza and prepared things. Not gourmet food but certainly gets the job done when you are tired and hungry. Just a small market that looks a bit worn and dumpy on the outside but once you step through the door you will encounter a very warm, friendly place where you will probably find whatever it is you are looking for.

Gordon Food Service Store – Menu with Prices – 1003 Michigan St NE, Grand Rapids

I came here for a Yelp event, but ended up staying and shopping afterward: to be clear this review is just for my after event shopping. I had no idea what to expect when we came in, but it definitely was not “Small corner grocery story.” I was blown away about how nice the interior was, and the variety of things they had on hand. We live not far from this location so it’s great having another grocery store option. I’d put GFS as somewhere between a normal grocery store and Costco – they have bulk items like Costco has, but they have a larger variety of items than Costco, plus non-bulk like a normal grocery story has. It’s a really neat mix, and I really enjoyed just walking around and taking everything in. They had a really nice meat and deli counter, and a neat little bakery (they don’t make their bakery items in house, but have it shipped in from a small bakery in Chicago – they do decorate their items in house though). Prices are (as expected) good on a variety of items. They are better than our normal grocery store (D&W) on a lot of items, and are competitive or better than Costco on bulk items as well. There are obviously exceptions – candybars would be cheaper at Costco as an exmaple, but they had more variety so….it evens out. Anyway – Highly suggest checking this place out if you’re on the lookout for a better grocery store and live in the area.

Bricco Salumeria & Pasta Shop – Menu with Prices – 11 Board Alley, Boston

This place is a gem!!! Unless you walk on Hanover street leisurely and pay attention to all the business signs, you would definitely miss the place (unless you’ve been there before or locals). The place is tucked in a small alley. It’s part of a bigger business. Bricco has restaurant, bakery, and deli units. Haven’t tried restaurant, but the bakery and the deli are super excellent. Every sandwiches that the deli section sells are good (mostly at least). Mainly, it’s all come down to the fresh bread that they use for their sandwiches. Meats and cheeses are good but nothing beats fresh bread!! One drawback that I can think of is that they only have a limited number of tables that you can use for eat in. First come first serve and you might to wait long for your table. You want to eat your fresh sandwich right away, not after 1hr and all soggy.

Walmart Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3137 S Seneca St, Wichita

When you don’t want to walk through an entire Walmart, but you need a few things, the neighborhood store is the place to go. They stocked just enough of everything you need to hold you over until you get to the big Walmart. The location is sensibly placed for the competition and is easy to get in and out of with just enough parking but not too much.

Mekong Market – Menu with Prices – 747 Main St, Worcester

This is considered to be one of the most popular Vietnamese grocery store in Worcester. This grocery store has gone through many changes throughout the years. They used to be located a block away from here in a tiny store back in the 1980’s. In the 90’s they expanded the store and grew their operations into another building. The grocery store has a airport hangar type of feeling similar to going to BJ’s or Costco. You can find almost every type of Southeast Asian food here, from fresh banh mi (Vietnamese sandwiches) to frozen boxes of imported squid. They also have a fresh fish market in the back. They will even descale the fish for you unlike most fish markets. This place also sell various types of Asian cookware and other household needs. Parking here can be a challenge since they have a tiny off street parking lot. The parking lot is situated at a 20 degree angle so you might want to be careful of runaway shopping carts hitting your car. Street parking is also hard to find here since you are in downtown Worcester. Overall I prefer to shop here than at the other two popular Vietnamese grocery stores in Worcester since this place has a off street parking lot.

Staten Island Mall – Menu with Prices – 2655 Richmond Ave, Staten Island

It’s a Mall what can I say? Not a fan of them but not much else around for shopping. Macy’s seems to be an anchor store, it’s hit or miss on the air conditioning. Seem to buy what sells in the area, not unusual for Macy’s. Could use more help, often long lines, bathrooms and dressing rooms need more help. There are some new interesting efforts to add diversity and change. LIDL a European discount food store. Think small Costco with seasonal reasonably priced fruits and frozen food. Lots of organic goodies. You will find yourself returning the prices are hard to beat. Coffee, candy meats, deli, a buy out type store. No frills set up buy your own bags (15 cent to ,075) the ice cream is fabulous try it. Another good find is PrimeRock a huge also European very inexpensive clothing store. Think Strawberries meets 4ever 21, but not polyester. For $8.00 I found soft comfy PJ’s that will keep me coming back. Again hit or miss but BASIC stables, different quality cotton. Worth a visit. One more find is Rita’s homemade ice’s with rich custard. Yum! Ices often have pieces of fruit and made fresh daily. Food court non interesting but Shake Shack outside a nice touch. Other then that, basic lots of seating.

H-E-B Bakery – Menu with Prices – 26500 Kuykendahl Rd, Spring

I LOVE HEB, especially when your neighborhood HEB is new, amazing & beautiful. (It is accurate to call a grocery store beautiful, right?) Anyways, this HEB has everything you want in a grocery store. This location is so great for a lot of reasons. For starters, their selection of organic & Central Market items is great! I can shop everything organic for such a great price. They have everything you would need from organic produce, plenty of great brands (Annie’s, Amy’s, Glutino, etc), and great selections of their HEB organic brands. Nearly every organic brand product will have some type of HEB organic product competing for prices. This store also has great selections for every food category: fresh produce, fresh deli, fresh meat & fish market, HUGE wine & beer selection, natural products, etc. I really can’t imagine anyone who wouldn’t be able to shop here and find everything they need! One of my favorite parts about this HEB? It’s so clean! Granted it’s pretty new, but they employees keep this place spic & span. Aisles are always organized, produce, dairy & meat areas are always clean, and they store is just sparkling! I also always have great experiences with their employees. Whether I’m just checking out or need help finding something, they are always willing to help & have great attitudes! The store always feels pretty busy (except nights), but the checkout lines are quick & efficient. They also have the new little shopping areas that HEBs have now with cool home decor & jewelry. The floral floral department has a great selection & they are constantly making awesome arrangements (including cool succulent arrangements)! They have a ready-to-eat area where you can order food in the store + a small cafe area to eat it at. AND they have the outdoor section with lots of gardening supplies, outdoor decor & furniture, and all your firewood needs. It really has everything, so I’m a fan!
