I just can’t do it with this place anymore. The other day it was the 3rd time I came and they were out of bagels again. Like seriously? Like the other reviewers say how does a bagel shop run out of bagels?! I mean I get once and maybe twice, but 3 times! And this is just the times I have attempted to come. But Im done with this place. The owner is a super nice guy so one star for that but I really think his business skills aren’t there. I can’t imagine a pizza place running out of pizza or a gas station running out of gas. You don’t see it happen unless there’s an apocalypse or a natural disaster coming lol. NONE of the other bagel shops in the area have ever run out of bagels every time I go there. EVER. Bagel Bistro or Bonjour have never run out. I just hate going there because of the drive but it looks like I will be from now on. I sat and thought about it for a while and finally figured he’s trying to save money on food cost. I work in a fine dining restaurant and we do toss a lot of non bought food out everyday. There’s no other explanation because its not that hard to put an order in for MORE BAGELS! If you’re constantly running out have your bakers bake more or order more from the company that supplies you. Better than having frustrated customers looking for a quick breakfast only to have to read a sign and then drive somewhere else. Its super aggravating. But I guess every small business owner has to male those tough decisions. By the way this review obviously won’t hurt their business since they are selling out of bagels everyday! Business must be great!

Gib’s New York Bagels – Menu with Prices – 2531 S Shields St # 2E, Fort Collins

I am not sure how there are even bad reviews here. I have been coming here for over 20 years and the bagels are always on point, fresh, and delicious! I’ve never had a bad bagel here and the service is usually very good. The line can back up and be longer at times but that’s because the food is so delicious. My favorite bagel here is the everything bagel but really they’re all delicious. Their homemade cream cheese is our wonderful and the atmosphere is cozy and nice. The best deal is to get the Gib’s dozen which is actually 13 bagels. There are also have wonderful sandwiches, bagel knots, coffee, tea, as well as juices and soft drinks. This is the original Gib’s Bagels and my favorite. All the locations are good but I prefer this location. Parking is ample and there’s always tons of variety. If you’ve never been to a Gib’s Bagels, then do yourself a favor and head over. If you’ve been but haven’t in a awhile, go back and eat a tasty bagel.

Sandy’s Take & Bake Pizza – Menu with Prices – 2015 Elizabeth Way, Santa Rosa

The first couple of times I went there it was amazing. The owner was there and very pleasant and had my order perfectly. The last few times I’ve been there there have only been teenagers running the place and it’s just not working. Missing ingredients and sloppy pizzas. I placed an online order and ended up being 20 minutes late to pick it up then when I designated. The uncooked pizza was sitting on the counter. Presumably for 20-30 minutes. Why would it not be kept somewhere cool or refrigerated? When I got home I tried to move it to my pizza pan because I didn’t realize a take and bake pizza didn’t come with a tray ( you have to buy one) and it was a droopy mess because it was so warm. If I do order again it will be a pizza that I let them cook and hope that I get them on a night the owner is present. Hope to get back the quality I got a few months ago.

Great Bagel & Bakery – Menu with Prices – 3650 Boston Rd Suite 108, Lexington

Honestly I really wish I could give a better review. I went in this morning, was able to order quickly and get my bagels quickly as there were no other customers in the building. Very cute establishment- looked very clean! The staff wasn’t very friendly, obviously wanted me to make a decision quick and leave. As I was looking at the bagels, not even close to the register, a young guy at the register just said “what can I get for you.” In a “hurry up I’ve got better things to do than watch you stare at the bagels.” I was going to try one of their lattes or espresso drinks but I felt like that would really annoy them based on the behavior I got, so I just ordered four bagels to go, sliced only, and still thanked them multiple times and tipped. I remember working food-based customer service, i definitely empathize. But that’s not even why I’m rating this a lower score, I’ll still go back to a business if I’ve had a bad customer service experience… the biggest problem was the taste of the bagels. The bagels are SUPER dense, hard to chew, and lack flavor. I ordered two Asiago, one everything and one blueberry. The Asiago didn’t taste or even smell like anything but a whole wheat bagel- the blueberry tasted almost like the blueberries were expired? Sort of like permanent marker flavor when you got a big bite of blueberry. Ended up giving most of this one to my dog. My husband ate the everything, said it also tasted like a whole wheat bagel with some “everything” seasoning on top- and didn’t care to try the Asiago after he smelled it and said the same thing I did above. Super SUPER disappointed- I was so excited that this local business was opening so close to us. Like I said- only tried those 3 flavors of bagel, no drinks or cream cheese or anything from them. So maybe one of those things would’ve been a game-changer? But the name is “great bagel” so I’m not confident about it. Sadly I don’t think we will be going back. I genuinely wish good luck in future to the business though- hopefully we just came on a bad batch day and it isn’t normally like that.

Noah’s NY Bagels – Menu with Prices – 123 Lincoln Center, Stockton

I’ve been on the lookout for a bagel store in Stockton. I decided to give Noah’s a try today for the first time. It was quite busy for a Sunday morning. I ordered the super onion bagel toasted and had half of the bagel with smoked salmon schmear and the other half with a garlic and herb schmear. I was pretty excited to try their bagels since they have a large variety of different bagels to choose from. The super onion bagel came out way too burnt. The onion flakes on top of the bagel were completely black and it deteriorated from the flavor of the schmear. When I was able to find a part that wasn’t burnt, I loved the pairing of the onion bagel and smoked salmon schmear. The garlic and herbs schmear did not disappoint either. Tip- if you have your bagel toasted, ask them to not toast it too much. You can also have a different schmear and each half of the bagel! I would’ve easily given this place a 4 stars if my bagel didn’t come out burnt.

Main Street Bagel Deli – Menu with Prices – 10268 Main St, Fairfax

It is not very often I give 5 star reviews. It is also not often that I feel very strongly that this business has great owners, management, and overall amazing food. But here we are! Ever since my college days, Main Street bagel has been the place that just at the mention of it my day improves. It is a must. Children, adults, and hungover in betweens alike appreciate this spot more than words can explain. I have never had a single complaint, and believe Main Street Bagels can do NO harm! Their bagels are the freshest, best bagels I’ve had since New York bagels in New York. My favorite is the everything bagel. Their schmears are homemade- my favorite is the honey walnut. They have options on options of drinks from your classic perfectly brewed cup of joe, to blended drinks, juices to your liking in the multiple fridges. The nova lox bagel is fantastic, they put the cream cheese on both sides of the bagel. Heaven!! They make their own pickles on the side! They also have baked goods! Recently I was reminded of why I love this place so much. Saturday morning is the perfect time to appreciate this business. I walked in with my boyfriend and got 2 bottles of juice, a fresh cup of coffee, an everything bagel with honey walnut, an onion bagel with lox, and a scone for $20. Yes you heard right. And everything was delivered to the table warm, toasted just right, with AMPLE cream cheese and toppings. The owner is a delight and it brings me great joy he has been so successful in his business. He pours hot fresh coffee as soon as the large jugs run out (which I suppose is often because it’s busy in there!) Make sure you make your way to Main Street Bagel soon!! I know I will! (I never have the audacity to try take pictures of my bagels….they’re always gone before I can even reach for my purse :p )

Panera Bread – Menu with Prices – 941 N Central Expy, Plano

Twice now I have visited this Panera Bread, and twice I’ve been disappointed. 1st time – 6:30 am – On the way to work, stopped to order an everything bagel/cream cheese – they didn’t have any. ‘Someone came in and gave them a big order – they didn’t have any bagels left’. That was the excuse. Um, you’re in the bagel business. So I ordered a quiche, which was good, but was not what I really wanted. 2nd time – I placed an order on Wednesday 6/5, of two bagel packs, and paid for the order at that time. I asked for the order to be ready at 6:45 am on Friday 6/7. At just about 6:40 am on Friday 6/7, Panera called me and said they wouldn’t have my order ready. They had several orders to fill that day. Could I wait and pick it up later? No, I ordered it two days ago and I’m on my way to work. I asked what they had available – they had 10 bagels. I had to cancel my order and figure out something else. Again, they are in the bagel business and I ordered two days ahead of time. Very frustrating. We ended up going to Einstein’s Bagels, who had bagel packs ready to go for quick service. Which I appreciated, and what I would expect from any business like this that caters to breakfast. I called Panera a little later that morning, pressed ‘5’ to get to a manager. ‘Grace’ answered and identified herself as a manager, but I’m 100% certain she wasn’t. She couldn’t help me, said she would speak to her manager about it (Kelly) and have her call me ‘when she got in’ around 10 am. First of all – at 10 am, your morning rush is over. So I’m not sure why or how a manager shows up at 10 am. Second of all – to this date, I have never received a call from Kelly or any other manager. I did get a refund from Panera. But I will never use this location ever again. They obviously haven’t figured out how to plan and serve their customers that want bagels in the morning. They could take a lesson from Einstein’s!

Bodo’s Bagels – Menu with Prices – 505 Preston Ave, Charlottesville

Best Bagels in C’ville (Maybe the World). I have been eating at Bodo’s for many years, and I work downtown so the Bodo’s on Preston Ave is close enough to work to eat there conveniently. The orders are always fresh and correct. They have a wide variety of bagels, cream cheeses, and condiments/toppings. If you want an everything bagel with sausage, egg, & cheddar, or a plain bagel with bacon, egg, & provolone, or a salt bagel with jalapeno & lime cream cheese (it’s actually really good), they have it all. And even at rush hour breakfast time when there are 40 people in line you can be in and out in less than 10 minutes. If you haven’t tried a bagel from Bodo’s Bagels you must stop by you next trip to Charlottesville.

DeWitt Bagel Company – Menu with Prices – 4320 E Genesee St, Syracuse

This is a bagelry that is an expansion of the Caz Bagel Co. They purchase half made bagels from a baker in the Bronx which means they are real bagels. The shop does not possess the same aroma as a true bagel shop, but the end result is the best bagel around our area with Bruegers a close second. Any other bagel is fake which includes Wegman’s and Panera. The shop is immaculately clean and the service is excellent although a bit slow. The bottom line is the bagel. If the bagel is good, that is all that matters, and the Caz/DeWitt Bagel Co meets the goal of producing an excellent product. Read my review of the Caz Bagel Co for more info. The only drawback is the recess Coffee they serve; not a fan although many folks like Recess Coffee, I don’t. It’s too Starbucks. Please buy a bagel or a dozen to take home every week. This bagelry deserves our support.

Balsam Bagels – Menu with Prices – 288 Winton Rd N, Rochester

I’m in New York the land of bagels and l’m super excited I never land at a bagel shop by happenstance so today’s visit was planned and more than a bit out of my way. It’s an understatement to say my expectations were high – actually living in Florida this is an event for me oh yes we have some transplanted bagel wannabes but it’s just not the same “there must be something in the water” or some other reason they say NY bagels can’t be duplicated. After reading the reviews there was no doubt I was getting my breakfast bagel from Balsam Bagels, unfortunately I didn’t read enough reviews and I certainly didn’t catch basically the only negative remarks – this was in regards to the eggs (no fresh cracked medium fried eggs) she was nuking the pre-cooked bacon and food service pre-formed egg before I realized it, I just gotta say if I had wanted a Jimmie Dean breakfast sandwich I would of opened the box myself, this is wrong on so many levels and I’m sure it’s frowned upon by the real bagel makers. I must of been side tracked watching the bagels splashing into the boiling water then masterfully scooped up and prepped before being placed in the oven only to have them screwed up afterwards – well after scraping off all the processed mess I managed to taste the heavenly everything bagel I was craving and it was so good unfortunately this place overall was a big disappointment to say the least, I’ll be back New York but I’ll be looking for a place that respects the bagel next time. These guys make great bagels but it’s obvious they don’t understand much after that geez..

Genuine Water Bagels Menu with Prices 305 S Washington St, Alexandria

When I wake up, sometimes I just crave a toasted bagel with cream cheese, and a tall glass of milk. Today, I visited Genuine Water Bagels. A small, and compact restaurant, that supplied nothing of that with their bagels. The cashier was electric early in the morning, and provided smiles on a tired soul. I had an everything bagel with butter, while my boyfriend had the lox sandwich on a toasted asiago bagel with smokes salmon, capers, onions, and a tomato. Both of us were satisfied, and more than anything, filled us with good food, and smiles. I recommend 10 times over.

The Daily Bagel – Menu with Prices – 545 E 8th Ave Suite A, Eugene

I AM BEYOND EXCITED AND HAPPY TO HAVE DAILY BAGEL IN MY IMMEDIATE NEIGHBORHOOD!. Daily Bagel used to provide my previous employer with bagels for work events and breakfast hour at the cafeteria. The first time that I tasted their bagels, I knew that I was eating a genuine, Jewish style bagel, boiled, then baked for authentic quality. I love these bagels, I’m so excited that this new location is within a blocks walking distance from my new work office. The food is stunningly delicious, the coffee is bold and tasty. I ordered the Lox and egg breakfast sandwich (hell yes!) This really is Eugene’s best bagel. Highly recommended, please check them out !.

The Limerick Neighborhood Delicatessen – Menu with Prices – 601 N Lime St, Lancaster

FINALLY A GOOD NEW YORK BAGEL IN LANCASTER Once you grab a bagel and shmear from Limerick you will never want another Lancaster County bagel again! And not to mention how much you will begin to hate franchise food chain bagels. This place is legit and one of a kind for this area. Their bagels are so fresh, fluffy and come in all varieties. They toast it perfectly, none of that burnt mess on the ends (unless that’s what you want!). They have a list of cream cheese flavors that they make. They know how to put on the exact right amount too. ** Currently only offering a soft open menu as of 12/14/18** Owner and team are super friendly! They are still in the opening process so I can’t give a full report just yet. They have lots to add and I wish them the best as they continue to develop their delicatessen. Comparing cost…fantastic pricing, worth every penny. No one will be disappointed eating here so get in and try it out ASAP!!
