St Ambrogio Society – Menu with Prices – 802 Montague St, Rockford

I love this place! Been coming since I was a child. I always get the fried fish and a double portion of the Italian salad instead of potato, not that the potato isn’t a good choice, it is. It comes with butter and sour cream. Or you can have fries. Love it! The fish is more of a bread crumb/panko coating with Italian herbs and not your basic beer batter. Their baked cod is lovely as well, supplied with a cup of drawn butter…so yummy! The salad is usually chopped iceberg and very simply dressed with a delicious oil and vinegar, but recently they have added a variety of veggies and even olives to the salad, which I could literally eat every day! They also serve a variety of other things, fried chicken, pasta, occasionally they grill pork chops or steak. The bar is always crowded as their drinks are inexpensive, and there is no bar service at your table. You buzz up there to grab a coke, or cocktail. Oh! I forgot, they serve a basket of bread and butter with the salad! For awhile they stopped serving butter and served country crock. Unacceptable. At that point, we started bringing our own butter. We got some odd looks from they servers, but eventually they brought back the good stuff! Who wants Italian bread and margarine? Not I.

Christi’s Cravings – Menu with Prices – 109 N Maple St # F, Corona

If you are looking for a quick spot to grab some lunch with out having to wait in line or deal with a rushing atmosphere this is a good little spot. I tried the Tuna sandwich on sqaw bread and it was delicious. Tuna salad was freshly made hours before consumed. They have various bread types to choose from. Good chip selection and salad bar too. Service was great! Just took one star for looking a bit dated inside could use some sprucing up. Way better than fast food!

Nectar Coffee and Wine Bistro Menu with Prices 106 Hume Ave, Alexandria

I ate here with my mom and son on a Friday afternoon. I was quite surprised by how crowded it was for a weekday! Logistics: there is a parking lot off to the side of the building. Order at the counter, get a number, food is brought out to your table. Breakfast (or at least waffles) are served all day. In fact, I saw a table tent advertising a daily special of a waffle + a mimosa or Bloody Mary for $15. If you are in a lunch mood there are a variety of sandwiches and salads. All sandwiches come with either chips (just a bagged variety) or a salad. There are also options for 1/2 salad and soup but no 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich. They should change that! On this topic, they should also change their hours. Only being open until 5pm has made it hard to get here which is why it took me so long to finally visit. I had their chicken salad at the taste of Del Ray so I recommended that my mom try that. She chose wheat bread and a salad. The portion was large and my mom loved it! She said it was one of the best chicken salad sandwiches she’s had! It had grapes, apples, cranberries, and celery from my memory. The bread was delicious too- seeded on the outside with a thick crust. I chose the fig and prosciutto sandwich. I should have chosen wheat but chose white bread. I loved the salty and sweet combination! We both agreed the dressing for the salads, which was basically just olive oil wasn’t great. We both had iced tea unsweetened which was given to us by the cashier. Not sure if there were free refills or not. The inside decor is cute and they have a patio albeit small as well. And they have high chairs! I enjoyed my lunch and would definitely return!

Mucha Lucha Taco Shop – Menu with Prices – 1530 S Val Vista Dr, Gilbert

Is there new owners or something? My last experience here was just excellent, but man this time was completely different. I guess me and my brother were bugging them ordering our food. The man working couldnt have been more condescending and the women couldnt wait to get to the back. I didn’t even order any food for myself or my son because my wifes order irritated them enough so I said screw it. My brothers wet burrito came out dry and he couldnt really saying about it because they rushed off as soon he paid. Two people were in there when we showed up so it was definitely not busy. Idk what their problems were but it was more then enough for me and my brother to never ever eat at this restaurant again. Also to the women worker, when you roll your eyes try looking away so the customer cant constantly see you doing. Just fyi for the next guy…

Holiday Ham Company – Menu with Prices – 11548 W 95th St, Overland Park

I found this place by accident. I am from Mississippi originally, been working up here since Sept 2015. One work day I passed a Quiznos on the way from one job to the other. I thought that sounded like a good choice (for lunch), why not? I looked up the closest Quiznos from where I was and it took me near here. I didn’t find Quiznos that day, but I found this place instead. I have become a regular customer, getting to know Mr. Jim and Mr. Dave personally! They are really nice individuals. They only offer 3 sandwich options: Turkey, Ham, & Ham Salad on white, wheat, or rye bread. The ham for me, makes the sandwich along with the red onions. But the delicious part is definitely the honey baked Ham. Can’t beat his prices for sandwiches either.

Bite Creole Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 4262 Monticello Blvd, Cleveland

I am truly disappointed in what I just experienced! I have been a customer several times with no complaints and have tried to support black businesses but the way they handled my situation was totally unprofessional. To make a long story, short, my father found a long piece of woman’s hair inside his burger that he had almost finished. I immediately called back, explained what had happened, and their response was “can you take a picture of it”…I was confused and taken aback when she said that, but responded and said “yes I can”. She then replied “if you can bring or send a picture of the burger with the hair in it, I can make you another burger”. First of all, there was no apology. Second of all, why would I lie about there being a hair in my burger to the point where proof is needed. I’m not pressed for $7 where I have to lie about there being hair in my food. Not even a mention of a refund..TRULY DISAPPOINTED. I hope and pray no one else has to experience that

Deli Mill-Fox Creek Catering Menu with Prices 33 Maiden Ln, Albany

This is a lunch spot I like to go to when I am in town. It is close to my office and even though they have big lines most days around lunch time, they process the question really efficiently and it only usually takes a few minutes from the back of the line to get your food and go. There are a couple of items I like from them that I will go out of my way to get. Every Wednesday they have a buffalo wrap special and it is pretty good. I recommend asking for a”double” or “Jumbo” wrap where they basically double your meat in the wrap. The other go to is their, “Peasant” which is thanksgiving between two slices of bread. It consists of turkey meat, stuffing, and cranberry sauce. If they have any left, I recommend asking for it on home made white or wheat bread as this is a thicker bread and makes for a heartier meal. The other nice thing about the Mill is they take credit cards. Some lunch places in down town don’t and I really find that annoying. Deli Mill. Its what’s for lunch.

Spitale’s Deli & Catering – Menu with Prices – 3309 Division Street, Metairie

I think that I found my new favorite lunch spot in Metairie! I love that they have lunch specials everyday. We went on a Monday and had the red beans with rice lunch special. It was a nice large serving. The smoked sausage was delicious! It made the dish. It came with two pieces of garlic bread and a salad. The bread was tasty and the salad was good. I opted for their house dressing. It was very yummy. I ordered an ice tea. They gave me a nifty plastic to go cup with their logo. I totally dug that. The staff was extremely helpful and friendly. The decor was fun. Very New Orleans! The place was clean. The TVs were much appreciated. I will be back!

Blue Dog Bakery & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2868 Frankfort Ave, Louisville

I don’t often get to go to Blue Dog, a spot I count among my favorites in the city, because it’s a favorite of many Louisvillians and I can’t get in. Due to it’s distance from my office, I don’t get the opportunity to go on a weekday. And they’re slammed on the weekends. This week, I snuck away from the office for a longer celebratory lunch, and I was so glad I did. I was reminded why I love it so much. The bread is the best in the city, hands down. That’s the reason so many other restaurants carry and offer Blue Dog bread. I would’ve been happy eating baguettes and drinking Americanos, but I felt like I should add some vegetables to the plate. I supplemented my bread and coffee with the grapefruit and avocado salad, which was so fresh and flavorful. And the dressing… I can’t find the words to capture its deliciousness. I recommend ordering the dressing just to dip the bread in. Again, a meal in itself. The atmosphere is lovely and relaxing. Don’t go if you have to rush through a meal. It will kill the vibe and you’ll have a terrible experience. The staff is very European in their serving style, meaning they want you to savor the food and the experience. Block some time, go early and enjoy.

Two Brothers Pizza – Menu with Prices – 5125 Jonestown Rd #157, Harrisburg

I was there 2 weeks ago and got home to find a hair in my food. Then, last week and ordered a cheesesteak with marinara sauce. I got home to a steak sub with no sauce or cheese & it was extremely dry. I decided to try again. I called to place an order and wanted the same thing. I couldnt understand the person who answered the phone and needed him to repeat himself multiple times when I finally was able to make out that he said you cant make a cheesesteak with marinara sauce. I tried to ask a question but couldnt understand him. I give up after 3 bad experiences in a row. I hope others have better experiences than I did. Its a shame because Ive heard good things.

Roaming Rooster – Menu with Prices – 3176 Bladensburg Rd NE, Washington

Just a couple days ago I posted a review of the Roaming Rooster food truck in which I talked about my boyfriend not being able to keep his hands off my sandwich. Well he was still thinking about those few bites he had days later and suggested we check out their restaurant. The restaurant is located in NE in a little shopping center. When we pulled up we were able to find parking a few spots down from the restaurant, which was deceived because the place was packed! There was a long line to order your food, but the line moved quickly and the process was well organized. Line up in the left to order. Move over to the right to wait for your food. The entire process took about an hour, with the majority of that time spent waiting for our order to be ready. We took our food to go since all the seating was taken. When we got home the food was still hot. This time I ordered the Nashville hot chicken sandwich with mild heat and some fries. The sandwich comes with slaw and pickles, which compliment the chicken perfectly. If you’re like me and really enjoy a briney taste, ask for extra pickles for extra flavor. The fries were perfect for me. I like a fry that’s less crispy, more potato heavy. My boyfriend ordered the honey butter sandwich and the Nashville hot sandwich. His favorite was the honey butter. Both of us were so full from our choices that we didn’t eat anything else all day! Overall, was the wait extensive? Yes, but after waiting in line at the food truck I expected to wait at the restaurant. I would love for them to figure out a faster system, but I know that will take time. To me, the food is well worth the wait.

Cowboys Roadhouse – Menu with Prices – 1034 Elizabeth Rd, Winnipeg

okay i was here for the throwback night end of march. the bouncers and security were extremely negligent. the line formed into a mob so tightly packed that i couldnt breath and couldnt get out to leave the premises even if i wanted to, which i did. At a certain point my arm got trapped between the gaggle of people, and when i tried to get it back it resulted in my wristlet (containing my cards, money, and ID) getting torn off my wrist with the zipper broken off. i was seperated from my friends at this point so i was on my own. i couldnt even bend down to try to find my bag since it was so tightly packed. i yelled for the security guard to do something, to break it up, and he said “theres nothing i can do” which is super not true. luckily once i was finally shoved inside i found my bag had been kicked to the entrance with my things all inside. my whole body is sore from being squished at all angles, my friend has bruises up her wrist from the mob. i feel that this was negligent of the club. if i could give it 0 stars i would. one of the worst experiences ive had.
