I stoped in yesterday with my friend for coffee she looked up and said I want one that looks just like the one on the menu they delivered. Me I wanted something stronger with out all the sugar told them what I wanted and again they delivered! They had me taste my drink before I left to make sure that’s what I wanted. They were very friendly and knowledgeable we talked about Dave down at Dawson Taylor roaster where the coffee beans are roasted locally. Thanks guys I will be coming every time I’m in Boise maybe just a afternoon drive over from Caldwell!

Dawson Taylor Coffee Roasters Menu with Prices 1035 S Lusk St, Boise

My team works out of our Boise office twice a month and we typically stay at a hotel nearby, which is great because it is a short walk to Dawson Taylor. First time I had a coffee here I was blown away – they have coffee from all over the world, but the difference is in the flavors. I am not very educated on coffee drinking, but I can say the coffee I had here was so enjoyable, I told my team about it, and now we stop here every morning. They have a small selection of pastries and various toasts – which is fine, but not the reason I come here. I buy freshly ground coffee and bring it back home with me, and I intend to continue this routine for as long as I visit Boise. The other thing – if you’re looking for a place to work, yes, there is wifi, but there isn’t a ton of space, so just keep that in mind, as if it were to get busy, you would have trouble finding a place to sit.

Boxcar Social – Menu with Prices – 1208 Yonge St, Toronto

Aesthetic shop with thought given to every little detail. Coffee selection: Nice selection of roasted coffee from both Canada and the US. Surprised to find that they were offering prices which were competitive with the roaster’s own pricing. They had various coffees from Luna, Seth Taylor CBD, and SEY in stock. Pour-over: Conducted on a GINA as immersion. Had an Ecuadorian one from SEY and then an Ethiopian one from Luna. Served in a cute carafe from Hario and pretty handmade mugs. Espresso: I think I had the Ecuadorian coffee from SEY. Was surprised to see them serving quality sparkling water with the espresso. Andrew made my drinks and I got the impression from my brief conversation with him that he’s quite knowledgable about coffee. He was well acquainted with roasters from both the US and Canada; and was even familiar with a small roaster in Toronto that I really like. It was funny to see that he brought several of his own bags of coffee to work.

Black Pearl Coffee – Beans – Menu with Prices – 460 Dufferin Ave, Winnipeg

This is one of the great reasons to live in Winnipeg, fresh roasted coffee, right here, in town. I wish I had discovered this place much earlier as my coffee has improved with fresh roasted coffee beans. In addition to the flavour, I really noticed the difference when grinding, I use a hand grinder and it’s so smooth now. The staff are friendly and helpful and overall my visits were very pleasant. Did I say fresh roasted coffee, right here, in Winnipeg. A truly international experience, locally right now. Enjoy it…and the coffee.

Jittery Joe’s Coffee Menu with Prices 425 Barber St, Athens

Excellent cold brew beans. They will grind them for you at the correct size for cold brew also if you ask. I tried the samples of their medium and dark roast which ere also good, but the cold brew was my favorite. Freshly roasted beans make a huge difference. miles above anything you can buy in the local supermarkets. I have not tried the other local Roaster, 1000 faces yet so I can;t compare, but so far this place has the best tasting beans I have bought in GA. Staff was also very helpful and knowledgeable, and gave me free samples of everything I wanted to try that was available. Even walked out with a cup of cold brew on the house since I bought a can. This is not a coffee house though, its a roaster that just happens to serve some coffee on location, so don’t come here for a nice quiet place to study or anything like that. at least not this location.

Camellia Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 1104 R St Ste 150, Sacramento

So one day my colleague and I were chewing it up with how rare it is to find a good coffee roaster café. He recommend I check out Camellia. I noted that. This past Saturday I reconnected with an old friend from high school and we were walking along R Street. When we came to the corner I saw the sign for Camellia Coffee Roasters and asked if she would like to check it out. So we go in and one of the guys there was super friendly. Turns out he was one of the owners, not just the barista. He gave my friend and I a bit of info with how his business partner roasts the beans. He even gave us a little taste of the coffee they were serving that day. I told him I like or prefer darker roast with a strong taste and he recommend I try the Brazil beans. I ordered an espresso, met his business partner when he rang both my friend and I up. Got a sample of another coffee beans they had at the time. I told them this was a spontaneous visit once I saw the sign and remember my co-worker telling me to try Camellia out. The guys were very grateful. I am always up to supporting local places, especially local roasters and I will be back. ?

Famous Dave’s Bar-B-Que – Menu with Prices – 12704 Montana Ave, El Paso

Came into town and decided to grab dinner after an 8+ hour drive from Dallas. I’m a huge fan of Rudy’s BBQ but decided to come here since we don’t have a Famous Dave’s in DFW. The last time I was @ a Famous Dave’s was about 2 years ago and I remember the food being delicious! Niki was our server, super friendly and accommodating and had great recommendations. Good service even when the food took a little longer and she came by with some complimentary BBQ chips to apologize. The food itself @ this location was just OK. My dinner date loved his sandwich (The Manhandle?) and the BBQ beans as his side. No complaints at all. I ordered a combo platter to try a few things: roasted chicken, brisket, ribs, and corn/cornbread muffin/green beans/broccoli with an additional side of the jalapeño cheddar sausage. I’ll be honest and say that my favorite part of my meal was probably only the green beans, cornbread muffin, and the BBQ sauces they put out (particularly the Georgia Mustard). The brisket portion on my platter was super salty (tasted like it was the burnt fatty end?) and the roasted chicken was pretty dry. Our food did take a little longer than normal to come out which resulted in the fire cracker green beans being under seasoned and my side order of sausage link coming out 10min after all the entrees. For dessert- Bread pudding was delicious but I would suggest ordering a second scoop of the ice cream to go with it. If you do their survey on the bottom of your receipt, you’ll get a free desert next time you go in. When comparing their meat cuts in terms of flavor, juiciness, and quality to their competitor down the road, I’d have to say that Dave’s loses on this end. I like Dave’s for their other entree’s (salmon, sandwiches) but if I was going to order straightforward BBQ meats, I’ll have to pass. Also, the timeframe of receiving our food and quality didn’t match how “busy” they were. We ordered around 5:45 and the restaurant was maybe 50% occupied. It took about 25 min to receive our meals. I did not notice any managers touching tables. There was a separate person apart from our server who delivered our dessert and she asked how everything was but she did not identify herself as management. Also, where we were seated gave us a good view of the to-go area and I noticed servers looking “bored” several times. 3 stars for good service, clean restaurant, and good dessert/sides. Need to work on food quality + management interaction.

Brewing Market – Menu with Prices – 2525 Arapahoe Ave # D4, Boulder

Really good coffee, iffy service I live nearby and this is one of the coffee shops I frequent. I love they’re coffee and their selection of whole beans as well as all of the various brewing accessories for sale. More than a few times I’ve come at different times during the morning and waited 10+ minutes for black coffee. After having had a few cups of their coffee on different occasions I discovered their large selection of whole beans. When someone helped me I had a few questions on their beans. I’ve worked in the coffee industry for 7 years (barista, importer, roaster, etc.) so I know what I’m looking for. They seemed offended that I wanted to know how they source and their roasting practices. I’ll be back because the coffee is too good to miss out on, but they could brush up on their speed and stop being so snobbish when people have questions about their practices.

Wrecking Ball Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 2271 Union St, San Francisco

While visiting the Marina District, we were so thrilled to stumble upon this gem of a coffee shop. They have friendly employees, fast service, and amazing, high quality beans. Being from Sacramento, we love our Temple, Pachamama, Insight, etc. coffee roasters, and now we have a new SF roaster to add to our favorite Bay Area coffee companies. This shop has a very small interior. You can push a single stroller into it down the narrow entryway (yes, parents really need their coffee!), but space is very limited. We gladly took our coffee to go, because it was fun to sip our drinks and stroll down Union Street, exploring the different shops. If you decide to get your coffee “for here,” there’s a small counter bar you can sit at and watch any hand pours that they make. There is also a bench along the entryway and a few chairs out front. We came twice, it was that good. Our first trip was in the afternoon and our second visit was in the morning. In the morning, their pastry case was bursting with delightful looking treats, big and moist, and I’ll have to come back to get one! We got some “chocolate milk” for our toddler, which was their house made chocolate sauce/base with some slightly-warmed and frothed milk, and it was a delightful treat! I got a cappuccino on both visits because it was perfection. The perfect ratio of milk to espresso, and their espresso is amazing!! They poured beautifully-designed hearts in the milk foam on top too. One wall has several shelves with items for sale, including their beans and locally-made chocolate. Don’t miss out on this little “hole in the wall” coffee shop! It’s gorgeously decorated and is sure to satisfy all true coffee lovers.

Dawson’s Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 3360 Brookdale Ave, Macon

Beware of this place and the owner!! I was in the area and decided to stop by and purchase something to eat! I’ve always used my debit card the previous months I visited this location, and always get the same thing which is their chicken! So when I get to the counter to pay the owner Dawson was very very disrespectful to me! He Snatched my card and while doing so he say” Give me the Damn Card” then swipe my card as I was saying wait and never mind. By that time I became aware at the fact that this man was really serious about his actions! So he throws the card on the counter towards me as if I was a animal or less than! I asked to speak to the lady that’s normally at the register which is his wife and he say’s, ” WHAT is she going to do, this is my shit”! And to not come back, all because of me telling him he was being disrespectful! I left with tears in my eyes because I shocked that he was speaking to me as if it was ok!! I’m a African American and Yes he is A older white man!! So I feel that he was being racist towards me! As I walked out side other customers was coming out and was in shocked but informed me that he is that way with a lot of people, and was telling me how bad they felt for me to have been talked to in that manner! The man then came outside and rudely talked over our conversation, and told me” to run and tell Facebook like y’all black asses love to do! I was in tears but told him that I would pray for his soul and that I would never step foot in Dawson kitchen!! His wife came out smiling,! SO TO EVERYONE IN THIS WORLD THAT IS TIERD IF BEING TREATED A CERTAIN WAY BY OTHERS BASED ON JUDGEMENT AND RACE, SHOULD NOT SPEND ANY MONEY AT THIS EATERY! Beware!! Beware! I pray for peace in their hearts! Something is very very wrong! This is 2019 times changed and it always has to be someone that wants to keep the past alive!

Caracolillo Coffee Mills – Menu with Prices – 4419 N Hesperides St, Tampa

Plain great coffee. I have purchased twice their green coffee beans and roasted my own with a small air roaster. The Columbia Supremo is wonderful. I tried the American blend and like it very well, too. The Costa Rico is exceptional also. Service is extremely fast. I picked it up at their store in Tampa and it was packaged very professionally and all ready exactly as stated. Saved on shipping that way. Prices are exceptionally reasonable. Makes home roasting very affordable and enjoyable. Thanks for continuing to service small home roasters. Some of the best coffee I have had at a price that cannot be beat. Try it.

Coffee Mill Menu with Prices 4979 E Warm Springs Ave, Boise

Coffee, Breakfast and service with a smile can all be found at Coffee Mill! This was our third visit. The location is super accessible for those who live in the Harris Ranch area as well as North East Boise area. Their coffee menu seems to be a bit limited although the beans used are very good. I’ve tried the fresh brewed coffee with a little bit of cream and it’s tasty. I’ve also tried the Bogus Basin latte drink along with other holiday flavors offered. They were wonderful as well. The pastries are from Gaston bakery, which is located in Boise – west Overland Road. They’ve never disappointed especially the ham and cheese croissant – yum… very good! They do offer other breakfast items, as well as a short lunch list of items to munch on. One thing that makes it great to visit over and over is the great service. Very friendly staff who help to get your day off to a wonderful start! A coffee stop for sure!! Thanks Coffee Mill – keep up the good work.

Elixr Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 315 N 12th St, Philadelphia

Having recently moved to Philly, I knew that I would have to find a new roaster to buy coffee from. Hopefully I would be able to find a place that not only sourced good beans, but had also perfected the art of roasting in order to allow their nuanced flavors to shine. On top of that, I was really hoping I would be able to find a place that was near to where I live. Elixr came through on all fronts. The Elixr location on 12th St is within walking distance of my new place. I stopped in expecting to purchase some beans and head back home. First I had to locate the coffee itself. At first glance, I didn’t see the usual bags of coffee I am accustomed to. It turns out that they use boxes for packaging creating a clean, sharp visual element that fits in well with the design aesthetic of the shop. I chose a Tanzanian variety named Tarime with interesting sounding tasting notes. The barista informed me that each purchase of beans comes with a complimentary coffee and I chose a cortado to enjoy. The coffee had been roasted just one day before I purchased it and I opened it one day after that. I could taste the freshness of the coffee. The roast on this coffee was perfect and the delicate flavors displayed themselves beautifully. I will absolutely be returning in the future to purchase more coffee from Elixr.
