Visited Paprika on a Friday with a group of five friends, although the place was not that busy I would recommend making a reservation given the place is small. Also keep in mind this is a family operation with only two employees it seem (one cook and one waiter) so the service might be slow. For appetizers we went with the middle eastern combination which we enjoyed very much. The falafel were crispy and delicious as well as the hummus. Also had the Greek salad which was average. The bastilla was something new given it is both savory and sweet at the same time. My only comment regarding the appetizers hot dishes is that they were not that hot when they came out, felt more as if they were heated rather than being cooked recently. The mains dishes felt more as if they were cooked to order. My lamb shank was great but had higher expectations specially in terms of the richness of the sauce (marag) it came with. The meat itself was tender and didn’t need a knife to slice, just pushing it with your spoon will do. As for desserts we went with the baklava and the m’hencha. Both were pretty standard nothing special. Overall a decent place to taste some Moroccan food in the area given there isn’t many choices of this cuisine. Here are my ratings: Falafel: 8/10 Hummus: 8/10 Pita bread: 6/10 Greek salad: 6/10 Lamb shank: 8.5/10 Baklava: 7/10 M’hencha: 6.5/10

Greek Bistro – Menu with Prices – 565 Marks St #160, Henderson

Ok folks let’s talk Greek food. I Love greek food and I have been eyeing this place for a long time but haven’t gone because the outside doesn’t look like much. Thank God I took a chance to go into this establishment! It’s like relaxed 5 star dining. The inside is WAAAAAAAAY different than the outside. It is small and beautifully done. I ABSOLUTELY love the decor. I almost wish there were no TVs in it as I feel it takes away from such a beautiful “Bistro”. Plus if there was outdoor seating it would be AMAZING! You can see the kitchen from the dining room and can just tell how professional this Restaurant is. It was busy with prep. Everyone was dressed the same and still put out AMAZING FOOD! I came here for my birthday and ordered the Dolmades for an appetizer and the lamb shank for my main dish. My server was this beautiful young lady who has a GREAT presence about her. The dolmades came out and there was bread a tzatziki sauce. Now I Love Dolmades and usually they taste a lot alike. This place has an extra seasoning on them that I can’t quite make out… who the hell cares they were DA BOMB! I gobbled those things up lickety split and the bread with that sauce.. I could have died right there but then I wouldn’t have had the chance to taste the lamb shank. The Lamb shank comes out and is huge (I thought I was fred flintstone for a moment). It’s served with rice and more bread.. SCORE!!!! It’s been 2 days and I can’t get that lamb shank out of my mind….I would marry that lamb shank. It is served with a tomato sauce and is out of this world. The meat was so tender and flavorful….I swear I was in Greece at a Michelin star bistro. I want to go everyday and eat that. It would be my last meal. The rice was cooked to perfection as it was seasoned well and you could taste every grain. The bread of course was phenomenal as usual. Plus the price is WAAAAAAY ON POINT! You get to have a 100$ Plate of food with appetizers and a drink for under 30$……ARE YOU SERIOUS? Yes I Am! You KICK ASS GREEK BISTRO!! My hat is off to the Chef and all the staff and owner. You get my highest honor 17 Platinum stars and a BAZINGA!!!! WOOOOOOOHOOOOOOOO!

Kabob House – Menu with Prices – 31093 Temecula Pkwy D1, Temecula

This place is amazing!!! Let me tell you what we got! Chicken kabob sandwich, Greek salad, rice, hummus appetizer, and falafel appetizer. The chicken in the sandwich was perfect. Cooked exactly right with the best flavor. I don’t even know what all was on the sandwich but whatever it was…it was good. The sandwich came with a garlic paste that was to die for. Tons of flavor! The Greek salad was also amazing. Great dressing, again, with a lot of good flavor. You get a giant portion of hummus for $6. If you plan to use it later with veggies or pita that you have at home, you’ll have plenty to last a while. The falafel was some of the best I’ve ever had. Dipped in the garlic paste or hummus or tsaziki ..definitely try it! I stopped by here for take out on a Wednesday night and it wasn’t busy at all (actually shocking seeing how good it is). The girls working in the front were really sweet and helpful. I waited about 10 minutes for freshly prepared food. This place is definitely going into my take out rotation. I’m really impressed!!

Mediterranean Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 624 Independence Blvd Suite 106, Virginia Beach

I’ve been here twice, once for lunch, and the second time, I brought my fiancee for dinner. Personally, I love falafel and hummus a lot. Since moving back to the Tidewater area, it has been tough finding good falafel or hummus close by. Mediterranean Cuisine may be 5 miles from me, but it’s worth the trip. It is a traditional middle Eastern cafe, like you would find in Lebanon. Not fancy, but the falafel is made fresh daily, the hummus has an amazing lemon zing, punctuated by a fresh garlic and olive oil flavor. The bread is what I really love most, it’s traditional Syrian/Lebanese style, with a fresh, chewy texture. The falafel sandwich I had came with tahini, lettuce/tomato and pickled turnips. I could eat this all week long, fresh falafel beats frozen any day my friends. The lamb kabob platter came with delicious grilled onions, peppers and tomatoes, and a large scoop of basmati rice. The meat was grilled perfectly, with a nice char over tender lamb. The service was excellent, they were friendly and made.you feel at home. I will be coming back regularly.

Santorini by Georgios – Menu with Prices – 101 Ocean Drive, Pool – Beach Side, Miami Beach

Many places in South Beach, especially along Ocean Drive, are tourist traps but definitely not here. And don’t let the location being in a hotel, hinder your desire for an unforgettable experience. We opted for outdoor seating even though it was a little warm outside. Sitting outside by the pool, enjoying the ambiance and guitarist, definitely enhanced our overall dining experience. After being seated we enjoyed a glass of Merlot. We started our eating extravaganza by sharing Grilled Octopus and an Original Greek Salad. The octopus was perfectly cooked and reminded me of lobster and was out of this world. The Greek salad is a little different than the typical one you’re used to. This one had only a few leaves of romaine lettuce, with large chunks of cucumber, tomato, feta cheese, olives, carrots, radishes and the sweetest purple onions ever tasted. You could taste the freshness. A quartered pita was brought to the table just in case either of us wanted some with the salad. For entrees we shared the Grilled Lamb Chops and Lamb Shank. The chops were fabulous. Once again, perfectly cooked, juicy, and succulent. It arrived on a wooden platter with grilled zucchini, carrots, and Greek lemon potatoes. The lamb shank was very tender and delicious as well. It had carrots, potatoes and tomatoes, in a sauce, and was accompanied with rice. I can see why these are two of their most popular entrees. Even though we were stuffed, we had to try my favorite Greek dessert, Bougatsa, OMG, a HUGE portion and heavenly. Service was tops always being a step ahead of us. Staff members checked on us frequently to make sure all was well. The international staff was friendly, accommodating and couldn’t do enough for us. Even the Special Events manager and owner made sure all was excellent. And if all this wasn’t enough, there was a dance performance by two entertaining costumed ladies to keep you in that festive Greek mood. Definitely a quality meal at reasonable prices for South Beach. You definitely need to dine here. I guarantee you won’t be disappointed or leave hungry.

Amira’s Mediterranean Cuisine Menu with Prices 2424 W Division St, Arlington

I was a bit leery since this old building dates back to the 60’s. I remember it opened originally as a Sambo’s, a national pancake house/diner chain that had the misfortune of naively naming itself for a racist nursery tale because the prize was about pancakes. And as a kid they made really good pancakes. Before Amiras it was Skillet and Grill for years. The place is big. It’s old and could have used a bit more renovation; I hate carpet in a restaurant and this carpet is old and dirty. Rip that crap up and just go with the concrete. The ceiling tiles could be replaced or ripped out. Clean the thermostat. The kitchen are however looked clean. Got my order to go.phoned the order in. Wife had questions about the salads as there are no descriptions on the menu. You know if you want to sell something how bout a description? I think this is the most common mistake restaurants make. Why are you assuming I know the difference in your version of a Greek, fatosh, Mediterranean, and tabouli salads, especially since these can vary widely from Greek toTurkish to Lebanese and do on across the region. The food: a tabouli salad was excellent, fresh parsley and tomatoes onions and lemon. Very good. A fatosh salad is basically greens with a sumac dressing and toasted pita. It’s a bitter salad but I liked it; I’d get some feta and more veg added. I got a mixed kebab plate, which is beef, lamb, chicken, and kefta on rice. Comes with two sides; I got Greek salad and hummus. I was disappointed in the kefta, a ground meat patty that was dry and tasteless; this is my usual ME go to but this was obviously precooked earlier and either microwaved or reheated. The lamb chunks were obviously precooked, dry and tough. The beef kebab was better; it could have used more seasoning. It was reheated. The best was the chicken kebab, flavorful white meat that was moist and well seasoned. The grilled vegetables were excellent and the rice was very good. The hummus was the best thing I ate, smooth and very flavorful without too much lemon. The Greek salad was good. The baklava was from a commercial bakery. They don’t hide it ; the boxes of it are stacked up front. The baklava was ok but it’s not the kind oozing cinnamon. Honey. This could have been a great meal if the meats had been cooked to order. Maybe I caught a bad night but my meal wasn’t near what I’ve read in other reviews.

Crazy Pita Rotisserie & Grill – Menu with Prices – 2225 Village Walk Dr, Henderson

The one thing one notices in my reviews is that there’s very few cuisines that I wouldn’t eat; Mediterranean and Greek food is among one of my personal favorite cuisines just because of how flavorful and light their offerings tend to be. Many of the restaurants on my favorites list, however, often require me to be there for at least an hour or more, and I don’t have the time to be staying there for that long ( unless it’s the weekend or immediately after work, of course ). This is why I love Crazy Pita — it’s a fairly casual Mediterranean restaurant where I can get delicious food and don’t feel bad about either staying there too long or eating too much, because of how many healthy options there are! While there’s a few of them in town — I know that there’s another location at Town Square, for example — the District’s Crazy Pita is typically my go-to for a quick Mediterranean fix, especially since it’s so close to my house. This is also where I’m usually able to find one of their special dishes — and my personal favorite item on their menu, the lamb shank! If it’s on the specials board, GET IT and thank me later. It’s so tender and flavorful, and it just falls off the bone. I like to mix it together with the couscous to form something of a lamb plate, and that with the light cucumber salad, warm pita bread and hummus make for an amazing meal. The baklava also makes a great dessert as well — it’s not overly sweet like other desserts, and yet still so good. There are many other places in town that serve better Mediterranean food, I will admit as much. However, sometimes you just want something more simple, inexpensive, and overall, just go somewhere you feel like you can just relax after a long day. With their great food and stellar customer service, Crazy Pita is just the kind of place I’d go. One of my favorite places in the District to go to — and if you check it out, maybe it’ll be yours, too!

Mr. Kabab Grill Menu with Prices 801 Fairview Rd #4, Asheville

We came here because we never go to this area. We were looking for something a little different than what we usually eat. There aren’t a ton of Mediterranean options around so if we find one that looks good, it’s a must try. The setup was not at all what I expected. You come in and order at the counter. The options are above the counter similar to how a lot of Chinese takeout restaurants do. I got a gyro plate and he got a kabob plate. We also got some baklava to start (which was by the register). So I consider myself pretty versed in food but I felt so dumb that I thought there was one baklava. Did I think you could edit it? Yes, but did I understand that there are so many versions all labeled the same? No! They had sooo many. And the two we had were delicious and both their own things. The food was delicious, loved the gyro meat. It wasn’t too heavy because it looked like they used half a pita, like cut it in half lengthwise to make it lighter. They served it with a great salad and hummus. The hummus was really good, flavorful, and the olive oil they used to garnish was super fruity and flavorful. These interesting pickles were also served but I’m really not sure what they were. We also got he falafel served with tahini. Delicious.

It’s Greek To Me – Menu with Prices – 15920 N Oracle Rd # 120, Tucson

Haven’t been here in a few years, heard they were under new management so gave it a try. Four of us came for dinner. They still don’t have a liquor license, so no bottle of wine with dinner ? Normally not an essential, but two of our party ordered the shrimp, and said it really needed something acidic (glass of retsina) to balance the flavors. A third member of our party had the spanakopita – it looked beautiful, and she said it was superb. I had the lamb shank. OMG. Best shank I’ve had in a very long time. Had a nice side of summer squash, and the tomato sauce was a delicious accompaniment to the very generously sized lamb shank. I would order this again in a heartbeat. We’ll be back – we don’t live to far away and I hope once we can have a glass of wine with dinner I can up my review to five stars. BTW, their baklava looked wonderful. They had a big pan of it sitting in the 2nd room. Next time…

Zara’s Mediterranean Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 415 Rayford Rd, Spring

My husband and I came here for supper on a recommendation and I am so glad we did. This is my new favorite restaurant. We are adapting a Mediterranean lifestyle and we are on our 7th day and this was a treat. We ordered several dishes so that we could get an overall taste of everything. First was the Trio Hummus Platter (the traditional and roasted red pepper hummus were our favorite, but the basil was just as good). We also got the Mohammarah Dip, which had the perfect spice and flavor. Then we ordered Zara’s Mixed Grill (feeds 2). I can’t even pick which meat was my favorite. The owner subbed the beef shawarma and gave us the lamb instead. That was my husband’s favorite. Mine is a tie between that, the chicken shawarma, and the chicken kabob. Wow, everything was so full of flavor. The rice, I don’t even know where to begin. I’m not a fan of rice at all, but this rice is full of flavor and almost melts in your mouth. I wanted to order a huge bowl of rice to go. We also ordered tabbouleh salad and it was great! We ended the night with a pistachio baklava and a walnut baklava. We both chose the walnut baklava as our favorite, but both were wonderful! This was a 5 star experience with amazing customer service. We enjoyed the hospitality of the owner / sister. I can’t remember her name, but she was the sweetest.

ChouPli Wood-Fired Kabob – Menu with Prices – 4411 W Saginaw Hwy, Lansing

We were looking for a quick and tasty bite, and boy did we find it. . . I had the chicken shawarma plate with tabouli, hummus, and babaghanoush. Hubby had the lamb kebob plate, same as mine substituting salad for tabouli. We split extra kabobs of lamb kofta, falafel, and the Haloumi cheese. . . Every bite was superb. The lamb was medium, tender and juicy. The tabouli was minty and fresh without being bitey. I loved the hummus, but Hubby loved the babaghanoush even more! Every kabob was a treat. . . There was enough seating for a small crowd, and we enjoyed the music playing in the background. Both grill masters were very friendly. My only complaint about the seating is that we are large people, and the chairs were a little wobbly. . . Overall, this is the best lunch weâ??ve had in awhile. We are already planning to go here again when we come back through the area.

Oasis Falafel – Menu with Prices – 1620 Harney St, Omaha

Rejoice all ye who eat gluten free food!! This place is great for those who don’t eat gluten or dairy. Their menu has symbols for vegan and gluten free. Be careful though because even though, for example, the Greek salad has a vegan symbol it has cheese unless you ask otherwise. Same thing with baklava (has honey). I don’t live far from here yet for some reason never stopped in, I can’t remember how many times I’ve walked by it. Well no longer! Got there right as they opened and the ladies working the front end (one of which was being trained) were splendid. We were offered samples which we later found out was baba ganoush, hummus, and a falafel. Shockingly they were all good, including the baba ganoush, and I hate eggplant. Wanting to try a bit of it all; husband and I divided to conquer. We ordered two of the kebab plates; 2 meats with 2 sides, pita, and a falafel. I got the chicken shawarma, chicken kebab, madjadra, greek salad without feta cheese, and a gluten free pita. My husband ordered the lamb kebab, beef kofta, hummus, and baba ganoush. Also came with a falafel and he got the gluten free pita. Also when you get the gluten free pita or you ask for your food gluten free they do ask if you have celiac disease. I understand how to some people this might seem intrusive but I appreciated this because while I personally don’t have celiac, I know those that have it have to be VERY strict with what they can eat. We also ordered a 6pc falafel on the side. If I’m going to rate the meats I would say the chicken kebab would be my top winner but I did have to add some salt to the outside (currently pregnant and a salt fiend). Followed by the beef kofta, which is a round little beef patty, then the chicken shawarma, and the lamb kebab. My husband would say the lamb was the best. Honestly the lamb to me tasted like beef and it took awhile for my brain to remember it wasn’t beef which was weird. My favorite side, which husband agreed, was by far the madjadra. Madjadra is this funky mix of rice, lentils, spices, and topped with beautiful caramelized onions. I would seriously go back just for this. Followed up by the hummus, baba ganoush, and the salad. Hubby and I thought the salad had a musty moldy dirty taste to it. This could have been the spring mix they used or what we don’t know, but it wasn’t great. The dressing was very basic, although I did enjoy the olives. The gluten free pita bread was okay, but will NOT convince anyone it’s not gluten free I assure you. Very flat, crispy like a cracker, and I just wasn’t a huge fan. The falafel was okay. We had it very fresh; like right out the fryer. They were a bit greasy for my tastes and I personally prefer a finer texture. I’ll admit I’m partial to Amsterdam’s spicy falafel. That being said it wasn’t terrible, but it isn’t their best item. I think if they flattened it out more it might work better. Getting there right when they opened was fun and it filled up quickly. We took a funky seat up in the window and I’m so glad we did. One complaint though they play funky Bob Marley like music REALLY loud. Maybe it was just while we were here, I don’t know, but seriously turn the music down a tiny bit so people can talk to each other. Thankfully sitting in the window area was more quiet. Also the place was clean and when someone would leave an employee would promptly go clean the area they were eating at. Price wise it’s alright. 2 plates of food, 1 side of falafel, tax, and tip was just over $35. You could definitely go cheaper if you wanted. I think the portions are alright for the price, but husband said the portions are smaller for the price. Parking could be an issue, as it is with most of downtown. If you’re willing to walk, the cheap parking meters are on Harney just west of 20th street (the 10hr meters) or you could use the public parking garage on 19th and Harney. There are spots on Harney that are closer, b

Salam Halal Market & Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 999 7th St, Oakland

We found this take-out market/deli through Yelp and decided to drive over to try lunch. Parking is tight; check the other side of Filbert St. and cross 7th (carefully). Despite reports of “cheerful smiling service” we received little of either. Also, important to note the staff closes down 2x day to perform their prayers, so there’s a 15 min pause during these times. You can check http://irusa.org/prayer-times/?gclid=EAIaIQobChMI4dv88Lmv3QIVAS1pCh0gRw2tEAAYASAAEgLKCfD_BwE for the times for Zuhr (noon-ish) and Asr (late afternoon) prayer times, should you have any time constraints about dropping in. We arrived about 12:15 weekday. There were several chicken dishes but no lamb except for shank, so we were disappointed. Got one shank w/rice and yogurt. Okay, but somewhat dry and overcooked. Rice was excellent. Veggie Platter was a miss for us. We love tzatziki but this didn’t match up to others we enjoy from Ikaros/Oakland, Lokanta/Pleasanton, and Khyber Pass/Dublin. Generous amount of diced cucumber but seasoning seemed flat altho a nice whisper of fresh garlic to it. Falafel is coarse-textured. We like Ba-Bite’s/Oakland smoother falafel with its fresh herbs. Babaganoush and hummus were on the salty side altho eggplant made a nice addition to the fine arugula salad. No dolmas included in the platter this time. I think most customers get the wraps and sound very happy with them. If we’re back this way maybe we’ll give those a try instead. Prices very reasonable, and it’s good to see West Oakland getting a few more businesses started.
