I had heard that Harley’s Pizza & Wings had some interesting signature pizzas so I stopped by to try one out. Sure enough they have an offering of six, being a “Half Baked Calzone,” which is half ham and half regular cheese, a “Spicy Lobster” ($29.00), an “Avocado Smash,” a “Buffalo Chicken,” a “Phat Boy” with Kimchee Napa cabbage, and what I had, a “Mushroom Lover” ($26.00). Unfortunately they all only come in 16 inch size, which is more than one person can eat, so if you are by yourself you really can’t stop in for a quick bite unless you don’t mind packing some to go home with. My Mushroom Lover was a totally delicious custom thin crust, sort of Neapolitan in style, with both a Mozzarella and a Ricotta cheeses, a good portion of what I am sure were Korean Enoki along with Shiitake mushrooms, garlic and a topping of Arugula. It really tasted great with a profound fungus flavor, cheese taste and good crust texture, which at $26 is nothing less than I would expect. The overall menu at Harley’s is rather decent with not only its pizza and wing choices but also with its appetizers, salads and sandwiches. Being new, the place is spotlessly clean, roomie, and though nothing special or significant, with a pleasing enough décor and atmosphere. I felt very comfortable here and found it to be so much better than any of the other nearby competitors such as the Times Square Pizza Parlor. As for service, it was prompt, friendly and polite but exceedingly amateurish. On that count they could really kick it up by having the staff wear a Harley’s shirt and if a hat, having it a Harley’s logo hat and not wearing it backwards. Backward baseball caps may be cool for young kids, but not for professional waiters or service staff…..yeah, you got it. I’m an old grouchy curmudgeon when it comes to doing things properly and professionally.

Sauce Pizza & Wine – Menu with Prices – 7300 N MacArthur Blvd #120, Irving

Came in on a weekend lunch and right as you walk in, you are headed toward the cash register. Up on the ceiling is the menu so we stopped to take a look. So many choices it was a bit overwhelming but I decided on getting pizzas. Me and the bf decided to order a mushroom pizza and the chicken pesto pizza with red sauce. It was easy to order and everyone was very friendly. Soon after ordering we got to grab our drinks and find a seat. Theres lots of seating options from booths to tables to high tops too. We sat in a booth and about 10ish minutes later our food came out. Presentation wise the mushroom pizza looked amazing. It tastes amazing too! The chicken pesto pizza on the other hand was sad. It was good dont get me wrong but the tiny bits of chicken pesto around the pizza did not feel like a chicken pesto pizza. More like a cheese pizza with half a handful of chicken. I felt that it was a great pizza for a child who might want a cheese pizza but the parent wants them to eat some protein so you sprinkle some chicken but that was it. The chicken, from the time amounts I was able to try, was actually pretty good, flavorful and soft. It was like a slowcooked or soft shredded chicken. Taking a bit made you wish there was more of it after the one bit that had the chicken and the rest just being dough and cheese and sauce. The mushroom pizza however had sooooo much mushroom and arugula it was like I could barely see the pizza. It was sooo good because I love mushrooms! Definitely would reccomend that pizza. Lastly the dessert was amazing. Super rich and big and the gelato was very good. We were soo full we couldnt finish the cookie but it was super gooey and rich and warm.

Resonate Brewery + Pizzeria Menu with Prices 5606 119th Ave SE, Bellevue

Yum! Yum! A place for awesome pizza! The only issue we had was the seat yourself deal, because it was so packed. We lucked out and grabbed a booth. Resonate never disappoints! We popped in on Sunday & pizza was just as great as last time. Crust was fluffy & toasted perfectly. Sauce & cheese matched perfectly. This crust is a sourdough pizza crust ’cause they use a cultivated yeast starter. The use a MIX of flour ingredients, not pure white wheat flour. This flour mix shows up in the taste and texture. It’s just different that pizzas made with pure wheat flour. No matter, the pizza is a beauty and the taste holds up….and the beer is excellent! SCCORE: 4.25/5 I hope I gave them the same score last time #rentonpizza #pnwpizza #pizza #southseattlepizza #southsoundpizza #pizzathought #pizzacritic #pizzafamily #westcoastpizza #pizzeria #resonatebrewery #sourdoughpizza

Delicio Coal Fired Pizza – Hyde Park – Menu with Prices – 3672 Erie Ave, Cincinnati

Recently opened Cincinnati pizza restaurant which moved from Montgomery Rd. As far as pizza goes there’s nothing better than coal fired pizza, if done right. Arrived right when they opened, there was one other table seated, so the service was fairly quick. The staff was reserved, not overly welcoming but pleasant. Maybe they aren’t used to people arriving when the door opens, cause the staff milling around the restaurant gave use curious and puzzled glances. Ordered the mushroom appetizers, which was okay and just a tad too salty. It would have been nice to have been served some complimentary bread to dip into the mushroom sauce. The salad portion was a good size, fresh and flavorful but typical and nothing spectacular. Now for the pizza. As I said earlier there is nothing like coal fired pizza, if done right. Great pizza starts with the crust and you get the best crust with coal fired pizza. Today Delicios did it right and the crust was very good. Unfortunately we chose the black and bleu which was a bad choice, not Delicios fault of course but our waiter did say “great choice” when we ordered it. Lol. Still, we made that choice. We realized with the first bite that we should have gone with the classic toppings. The bleu cheese and balsamic glaze just didn’t go well together. By the end I was just scrapping off the toppings and eating the crust. The prices are about right for artisan craft pizza restaurants and the restaurant is nicely appointed. They have a small but decent selection of beers and wine. The location is a bit weird and getting out of the parking area is a bit confusing. It’s seems like you could just drive around the restaurant to exit but it’s very tight so we just backed out from the entrance onto busy Erie Blvd. The reviews at their last location weren’t great so hopefully this change will be for the better.

Blaze Pizza – Menu with Prices – 2348 Citadel Way #101, Melbourne

Blaze Pizza is much like the Chipotle of Pizza. Here you can customize your pizza to your liking. Kudos for having an option for vegans as they offer both vegan cheese & vegan chorizo. There are several signature pizzas w/ popular favorites along w/ calories listed. Probably the most popular choice here is the customizable Build Your Own Pizza. Choose your crust from original, thick crust, or cauliflower crust for gluten-free folks. Several sauces to choose from such as classic red sauce or spicy red sauce. Cheeses including vegan cheese options. etc. I opted for customizable Build Your Own Pizza w/ original crust, spicy red sauce, vegan cheese, vegan chorizo, & unlimited veggies. The toppings here hit the spot as lots of selections for those plant strong folks as the veggie toppings were plentiful, tasty, & nourishing. The pizzas are fast fired in 180 seconds in the oven. Fast, friendly service, & affordable. Found this to be one of the best vegan pizzas I’ve had in a long time for the fresh veggie toppings alone. Felt the crust could have been a bit firmer. The atmosphere pretty similar to dining at a Chipotle yet the vegan pizza hit the spot. I was able to finish the whole pie as was satisfying w/ just the right amount of food. Look forward to subsequent visits here.

Papa Murphy’s Take ‘N’ Bake Pizza – Menu with Prices – 5171 E Kings Canyon Rd, Fresno

Papa Murphy’s is a take and bake, so as said you order your pizza, take it home, and bake it in your oven. What I like about this, it that the dough is freshly made and the toppings are packed generously. When I order, I cannot go bigger than a large, because my wall oven is just too small for the family size. Baking instructions come with the pizza, and it only takes like 13 minutes or so, depending on your oven. Normally, I order the Cowboy, which consists of mushroom, black olives, sausage, and pepperoni. There is a nice garlic and parmesan seasoning that’s sprinkled on top and gives it a tasty flavor. This last time, I also ordered half cheese, half pepperoni thin crust for the kiddos. I really like thin crust because it’s crispy and I prefer to be filled with toppings and cheese versus too much dough. The employees are efficient, and my orders have always been correct when I order by phone. Recently I started ordering online, which is more simple compared to Pizza Hut’s online ordering process. I do wish that they offered delivery.

Villa Palermo Factory & Company Store – Menu with Prices – 3301 W Canal St, Milwaukee

Been eating this pizza for several years, though I must state clearly, I DO NOT EAT IT AS IS. I buy the thin crust cheese pizza, which is the only such pizza I can find in the local market, where the pizza section is HUGE. I like thin crust, and I don’t want a pizza that has two pounds of grated cheese on it. I add pieces of sliced ham (not Canadian bacon), sliced avocado, and some grated mozzarella, so if there’s already an excess of cheese, the pizza isn’t a good candidate for my additions. Anyway, a got a pizza from a big local store. It comes without a box, with a paper round on top, and shrink wrapped ultra-thin plastic with the cooking instructions on the bottom. This one happened to NOT have gotten the cardboard round that should’ve been underneath for support and protection. Surprise, surprise, it was cracked in half. Just couldn’t make it work for my elaborations. Called the company, explained what had happened, and they promptly sent a coupon for a replacement. Hey, s**t happens, and when a company makes it right, that’s what you should want from them, right?

Panago Pizza – Menu with Prices – 787 Bathurst St, Toronto

OMG! I’m so shook to see this place with such less number of reviews. I recently went in store to try out Panago Pizza the very first time in downtown. I’ve tried before at a friend’s place in Ajax and was curious to see if they have similar taste and service. Yes, it’s a chain pizza store!! But not all locations taste the exact same. Anyway so we went in store as it’s really not the taste same when delivered. I prefer hot and fresh. Also best way to avoid reheating it. This location has only 4-5 high chairs by the window. Extremely clean counter tops, flooring and even washrooms. The staff really made sure they cleaned everything they use to work on the pizza. Even the knifes and had gloves on whenever needed. The staff isn’t very friendly but neither rude. They do their job BEST! That’s all that matters. Highly recommend the multigrain crust. Also they have dipping sauce available in Jars too. Each dipping sauce is 0.75 however the Jar is like $3 definitely worth it. Jalapeño ranch and Italian Garlic are the two I’ve tried so far. I got one home and goes great with sweet potato fries, salad, sandwiches, chips or next time you order pizza. We got veg korma and primo vegetarian half n half. Make sure to try all the variety of seasonings and cayenne hot sauce they have.

Gino’s Pizza Menu with Prices 1374 Copley Rd, Akron

Holy Cow! What an absolute surprise. We recently ordered from Gino’s, and let me tell you, what a pie! We ordered 2 different ones, a half cheese, half pepperoni, and a white, garlic, chicken pizza. First the half pepperoni. Delicious, medium crust, crispy on the bottom, still a bit of chew to the inside. Tangy, rich, tomato-y sauce. Great cheese, cupped, tiny pepperoni rounds that crisped up on the bake. The white pie was aggressively garlicky, but that’s sort of what you expect in a white pizza. The chicken on it was diced up and incorporated in every bite. Coupled with the same great dough and cheese as the pepperoni pizza, this was pretty good. My preference is probably the red sauce pizza, but that’s usually my preference, so try them yourself and see what you like best!

Oregon Wood Fired Pizza – Menu with Prices – 207 Madison St, Eugene

A friend and I wanted to have some dinner and a beer and decided we would try Oregon Wood Fired Pizza, well because it’s pizza and it was voted one of the best pizzas in Oregon. It was busy and we weren’t actually that hungry and wanted a half and half pizza to split between us. The person making the pizza said that it was to busy to do a half and half and that we had to each get a pizza. My friend asked so it takes longer to make a 1 half and half pizza than two pizzas. At this point they were deer in headlights because they really they didn’t have an answer. This was the first thing that disappointed me. The second disappointment was the pizza. It was a wet mess. Most of the toppings fell off and the crust was so soft that I hard time picking up my slices. The taste was okay, but not stellar. I think this place has been affected by popularity like a lot of places that are voted best at something and now suffers from serving quantity instead of quality. Also like other popular places they gain a “my shit don’t stink” attitude. I would give them another chance, but at $14 a pop… My pocket book tells me there are better options out there, but who knows maybe I might.

Donatos Pizza – Menu with Prices – 5405 Waters Ave, Savannah

Donato’s has a lot of potential, but it needs to tighten its game if it hopes to compete for a slot as one of Savannah’s great pies. The sauce is good, tangy but tempered with just enough of a sweet note. They lay it on too thick, though. A lighter, more judicious hand is needed. Their cheese has a good taste and great stretch, but they don’t lay it in thick enough. They are generous with other toppings, the toppings are quality product. Which brings us to the area where Donato’s has a lot more room to improve. A good pizza crust is chewy. The best crusts are allowed to proof at least a few hours . They have a taste that only yeast can provide. Donato’s tastes like it has no yeast at all. The texture is more like a very skinny bread than a pizza. Without a good crust, a pizza will never be more than okay, less than average. One more note: Donato’s cuts their pie in squares. This is so superior to the wedge that I have long despaired of finding a well-cut pizza in town. On this note, Donato’s aspires to the Chicago thin crust, the prince of pies (deep-dish being the undisputed king.) One small complaint, they cut the squares too unevenly, resulting in rectangles rather than squares. A pizza is cut into four portions vertically and horizontally. Donato’s cuts into threes. This is an easy fix and I hope they are paying attention. In conclusion, this pizza is deserving of further study and I look forward to my next offering. Here’s hoping the powers that be take notes well.

The Stubborn Brother Pizza Bar – Menu with Prices – 3115 W Bancroft St, Toledo

As a native New Yorker who is a picky as the come about their pie (yes, pie), I was thrilled to try Stubborn Brother. First few times were good. Close to NYC for sure. But the service and a few atmosphere choices make me scratch my head. Forth visit today, we seated ourselves. It was 4:30 on a Wednesday. Just one other seated couple and a guy at the bar. We ordered a mushroom pie. Simple. Then we waited. For over 25 minutes. The pie finally arrived and we dug… wait, where are the ‘shrooms??? Well, that wasn’t so simple an order after all. And not worth the wait. Oh, and did I mentioned the country pop blaring on the speakers? Very NYC pizza shop, not. Oh, and our waitress left her shift without stopping by and giving me a chance to tell her she forgot the mushrooms. Management needs to step up their game and get serious about service and atmosphere. Place and pizza could be amazing, but you need both every visit or I’m not returning. 3 stars. And that’s mostly for the crust being great. The secret really is the water.

Mancino’s Pizza & Grinders – Menu with Prices – 1402 W Mt Hope Ave, Lansing

I ordered delivery from here cuz I felt like staying in my hotel room and I’m glad I did! The delivery was quick and the food was delicious. I ordered a sausage, bacon, and pepperoni calzone and scarfed it down faster than I probably should have, but it was too delicious to let sit for long. The crust was a perfect blend of crispy and chewy – chewy enough to have a fantastic texture. They also seasoned the crust wonderfully. I also ordered the Mancino’s Pride pizza with the intent on saving it for breakfast for the next day, but I ended up eating it too. Now I feel a bit of remorse for ignoring my diet, but my stomach and my taste-buds are super pleased with Mancino’s. Personally, I think the calzone wins out due to how well the crust was seasoned and cooked, but the pizza was pretty dang tasty too! I’d order both items again and I’ll definitely be getting delivery from them again next time I’m through Lansing on work. Side note: if you’re really hungry – the calzone might not be enough food by itself, might wanna order something else to go along with it.
