I love this ramen spot, and I’m so glad they opened a location in Allen! I had never really had true ramen before, most of my ramen experience was from a packet. After we tried a spot in Dallas I was craving ramen daily, but didn’t want to drive out to Dallas. I tried a few place in Plano that did not meet my expectations and then finally found this place! The ramen here, not matter which one you get, is delicious. The tonkatsu is my favorite, and what a recommend to everyone, especially if you’re new to ramen. The broth is so meaty and delicious, unlike anything else. The noodles are always cooked perfect, not too soft or mushy. The miso ramen is also great, but once you e had tonkatsu, it’s hard to try anything different! The spicy tonkatsu is very spicy! To beware there. I’ve also had the udon, which isn’t always my favorite, but there’s is delicious, and the noodles are so tasty. The space is a small and quaint and very well kept. I love their wood decor, it adds a lot to the experience. If you’re staying for dessert try the strawberry mochi! The chocolate one is okay, but strawberry is the bomb! I highly recommend checking this place out if you like delicious ramen! They have multiple locations in the metroplex so you might have one near you if this one is too far.

Ichigoh Ramen Lounge – Menu with Prices – 2724 Commerce St, Dallas

This is a pretty decent ramen place! They have a different take on ramen compared to other places in Dallas since Ichigoh has a chicken broth and soupless ramen options. Kisetsu no kinoko butter: 5/5 really unique flavors and wonderful taste with the sauce complementing the mushrooms Spicy Soboro Shoyu: 2/5 it wasn’t spicy at all, which was disappointing. It might be a little spicy for those with a more sensitive taste, but I didn’t even taste a small kick. It seemed really oily, the noodles were very mediocre, and the meat wasn’t particularly noteworthy. I wouldn’t get it again. Niboshi shoyu: 3/5 decent broth, noodles were average. Not great but not bad Yuzu shio: 4/5 this broth was very light and refreshing. This was definitely my favorite out of the ramens! I personally prefer pork over chicken, but the broth in this was much better than the ramen with pork. It’s quite a unique flavor! I think if I came here again, I would want to try the soupless ramen. I still would prefer wabi house or other ramen places in Dallas first though. But it’s a godspot if you’re looking for a place in Deep Ellum! The service here is very attentive, and there’s a nice ambiance here. One thing is that the big sign still says tanoshii ramen, but just know that you’re at the right place for Ichigoh!

Ramen Okawari – Menu with Prices – 3740 Iowa Ave Suite 104, Riverside

This place is alright. Service was good. There was only one server, cause it’s seems the other was on break when we came in, but he was on it, and very friendly. However the food wasn’t anything special. The miso broth was bland, we had to add a lot of soy sauce to get some flavor. On the other hand, I got the Okawari Fire and requested the spice level be brought down because I have had problems in the past with other spicy ramen, I don’t like when the spice drowns out the tonkatsu broth flavor. It was wayyyyyyyyy too spicy! To the point I couldn’t finish my food, and my lips swelled up and we bright red! I love spicy food, that’s why I got it, but there’s a limit, and unfortunately some chefs just don’t know what that is. I wouldn’t go back cause it wasn’t my favorite (I’d rather just make ramen at home or even drive out to my favorite places), but I wouldn’t dissuade anyone from going here. If this is the only ramen place you can get to, it’s not bad, but don’t let it define your ramen experience! It can get way better than this!

Ramen Tatsunoya – Menu with Prices – 16 N Fair Oaks Ave, Pasadena

We were originally in the area with no intention of eating out for dinner but passing by Tatsunoya, we saw the line and said, “hey, this place has got to be good.” So then we decided to eat out for dinner, haha. Parking: although not so much an issue for us today, I did see that street parking was difficult to come by. I would circle around the block a few times and see if you get lucky. Wait time: There were maybe 4-5 parties in front of us waiting to be seated, but our total wait time was still only about 15 minutes or so. The line goes by pretty quickly and they try their best to accommodate your table preferences. They have bar seating, table seating, and a communal table in the center with this huge tree trunk going through the middle of it. We got seated at the bar so we didn’t get the tree experience, haha. They were quick to sit us and take our order. Our hostess gave us a basket for us to put our purses, jackets, and bags and then slid it under our table. That’s the first I’ve experienced that, but it was handy! Food: Their menu is simple, you can choose from 3 ramen options, no substitutions. I ordered the Spicy Tonkatsu, which is miso based. It came with 2 smallish pieces of mostly fat, chasu. The broth was thick and silky, delicious. Noodles were a little hard, which is how I prefer them, but some of my noodles were stuck together and a little too starchy. My main let down, was the spicyness. It was not spicy. They could’ve told me it was regular non-spicy ramen and I would’ve believed it. They do have a little jar of the spicy mix on the table for you to add to your bowl and adjust as you see fit. I guess that’s ok, but then why call it the Spicy Tonkatsu on the menu? What I also didn’t like was that the spicy mix came with pieces of ground meat. I can tolerate small amounts of pork (allergic), so my partner usually ends up getting my extra pieces of chasu, which I don’t mind. In this case, I felt like I wasn’t able to adjust the spicyness of my ramen because the spicy mix had ground meat in it, and it would just be impossible, and annoying, to sit there and try to pick out all the meat. So I ate my ramen as is, and with no real spicyness to it ? Conclusion: Glad I got to try it, it left me full, but I’m not sure I left fully ramen satisfied. I wanted spicy ramen, I ordered spicy ramen, but did not get spicy ramen.

Kumai Ramen – Menu with Prices – 3875 Venture Dr Suite A2, Duluth

Kumai Ramen is located inside of the Jusgo Supermarket off of Venture Drive. It’s on the backside of the upper level food court. There’s plenty of seating and it’s super clean. After you order they give you a little buzzer to let you know when the food is ready. I’ve been there atleast 5 times now and each time it never disappoints. I’ve had the tonkatsu Ramen, garlic tonkatsu Ramen, vegetable Ramen, teriyaki beef and eel bowl and the takoyaki snack. All of it is good and packed with flavor. The portions are huge for the price and they definitely get you full. The Ramen noodles have a great consistency and the broth is rich with flavor. The pork melts in your mouth and I always save it for last. I also love the salted egg that comes in the bowl. To be honest I have no complaints. I tried takoyaki for the first time here and it was amazing. I try not to get it every single time I come but knowing how good it is it’s hard not to! If you’re looking for great Ramen and friendly customer service this is the place to try!

ramen&sweets – Menu with Prices – 312 N Greenville Ave, Richardson

I’m so glad I decided to try this spot. I have a thing for ramen. I’ve tried many ramen from different places in Dallas area. I don’t always write a review. This place definitely deserves a great review. I had some Edamame, the beat I’ve ever had. Crisp, perfect amount of salt and other surprising flavor of seaweed and sesame seeds. I had the R1, Creamy Tonkatsu Ramen, amazing and flavorful broth. Generally I don’t like bean sprouts in my broth and forgot to tell them to leave it out. I enjoyed it just the same. I added a little hot chilli oil, and that just completed the flavor. The noodles I’m not sure, they looked a bit different than other places and were maybe a bit over cooked, I personally, don’t mind. I finished everything. That’s how good it was. Then on my way out I decided to try one Ice cream roll, the green giant, it’s green tea flavored. It was so tasty and smooth and perfect for today’s hot weather. I will definitely return for more. Can’t wait to bring family and friends here. The aesthetics is modern and clean.

Hokkai Ramen & Sushi Menu with Prices 4277 Meridian St #C-102, Bellingham

If you’re ever debating where to go in Bellingham for ramen (or really any Japanese food) stop the debate right now, because Hokkai is THE SPOT. Service? Phenomenal, even when they’re busy. Food comes out so fast and everyone who works here is kind and friendly! Atmosphere? Cozy enough to feel homey, roomy enough that you’re not bumping into the people at the next table over. I love the decorations and beautiful wood! And the food. The food!!! It’s delicious and such a good value! What really blows me away is the sushi, the quality of fish for that price?? Amazing. But everything I’ve tried, from ramen to curry, has always been delicious. Being from Hawaii, I grew up with a lot of Japanese food and ramen is one of my favorite meals. Hokkai is the only place in Bellingham that I trust and recommend to everyone I know.

Hachi Ramen – Menu with Prices – 655 W Warner Rd #114, Tempe

As a self-proclaimed ramen enthusiast, I can confidently say that Hachi Ramen is the best Ramen in Arizona! I’ve visited many ramen shops in the valley and Hachi is by far my favorite. They offer a great combination of quality food, timely service, and excellent pricing that’s hard to find these days. Their restaurant is casual and cozy, utilizing warm colors throughout and tastefully decorated with posters of popular anime. I’ve eaten many meals there and have not been disappointed a single time. My favorite ramen dishes are the Tonkatsu (pork broth based) and Shoyu (chicken broth based). Get the Tonkatsu if you are craving a heavier meal with a fatty taste or the Shoyu if you like salty miso flavor. Lastly, the ahi tuna poke bowls and homemade gyoza are excellent too if you want to try something else.

Bansho Ramen Menu with Prices 2502 Telegraph Ave, Berkeley

***3.5 Stars*** Most certainly not the best ramen that I’ve ever had, but a solid option considering the area. I pass through this area often and was excited to see a new ramen spot in this part of town. The setup is actually really nice! It’s neat and organized with very elegant lighting and decor, and there’s a beautiful bouquet that’s set near a bright red sofa near the entrance. The staff is extremely welcoming and tended to me as soon as I walked through the door. The service is A+ plus! They were super attentive and spot on the entire time that I was there, even as the tables began to fill up. I came during their grand opening week and they were offering a $7 Tonkastu ramen special. I love a good deal, so you know I had to jump on that real quick! I complimented my ramen with their edamame appetizer. The edamame was nice and warm and not overly salty for my taste, but they did use quite a bit of salt to season. Portion size was fair for the price. The ramen however, was a bit too salty for my taste. The broth had a good flavor but nothing out of the ordinary. Not sure what kind of noodles they were using, but the consistency was unusual. Not the noodles that you’d normally find in ramen. These noodles were thicker and also too firm like they hadn’t been cooked enough. I found the pork belly to be too firm as well and not that melt in your mouth consistency that you’d expect. This ramen was just a special and obviously their most basic, so I’m not sure if their other ramen bowls are of higher quality. Taste wise, it was good but pretty average. For the price I paid, the portion was great. However, I wouldn’t drop $13-$15 on this. Again, I’m just referring to their bare bones tonkatsu ramen. Their other ramen bowls could potentially be better, so I’ll have to come back to try something else. Pretty solid but there are better options out there. However, it will still satisfy your craving if you’re in need. The service is really the standout here, and that will be the main reason why I’ll be giving them another try.

Oka Ramen 2 – Menu with Prices – 5605 N Academy Blvd, Colorado Springs

Only giving this 3 stars because of the service. I come from San Diego, which has some amazing ramen choices and was very let down after arriving and finding the reviews did not quite match up to what was expected. I had the Tan Tan spicy ramen which was….very GROSSLY sweet. I have never had something taste like spicy sugar with noodles thrown in. Just…ew. I’ve been to japan and not even the worst ramen place was like this… I’m sorry to those who do love it, but my god there are much better options out there! Options that don’t drown things in sugar! I will say that the spicy garlic edamame was good. But sadly that’s the most positive thing I can say….

Akira Ramen & Izakaya Menu with Prices 3731 Boston St, Baltimore

Wouldn’t call this the best ramen joint in Baltimore, but is definitely the runner up and a nice addition to the canton area. I ordered the Akira volcano spicy ramen – The broth was pretty good but it wasn’t spicy enough for my taste, the noodles were crunchier than I usually go for but you can order different types of ramen noodles with your broth if you want a smoother texture. My bf got the regular akira ramen (nonspicy) which tasted pretty good. All in all, the broth is good and hits the spot, especially on a cold day. Moving onto the staple of a ramen bowl…The pork belly. At first bite, it was SO PIGGY; you could taste the blatant pork taste to it that it was very off-putting after a few bites. We sat at the bar and saw how they made the ramen and garnished it – It was cool that they torched the pork belly for an added crispy effect but was a waste because I really couldn’t stomach eating it because of the previously mentioned strong porky taste to it. The flavor of the broth was good, not great – not too salty, hearty, but could use some extra spice, especially in the spicier options and was overall filling but felt that their portion sizes were a tad bit smaller than the other ramen places in Baltimore (kippo, dooby’s, mi & yu…just to name a few). The presentation is Beautiful and the garnishing was absolutely perfect (probably the best out of all the ramen places) and really love the vibes going on in the restaurant – very modern yet keeping the traditional touch of a Japanese ramen spot. Note that the space inside is pretty small – there’s plenty of bar seating but not much space for larger groups. Overall, don’t think I’d go out of my way to come here unless I’m already in the canton area as my favorite ramen spot in Fells will always have a place in my heart and honestly can’t be beat. Also they don’t have donburi here!! Bummer! But this is a great addition if you ever have the late night ramen munchies. I’d love to see how they refine their recipe / menu as they continue to grow in the city and always happy to see more asian food places opening up!

Sushi House – Menu with Prices – 901 Sunrise Ave # A2, Roseville

Went to Sushi House for the first time for my lunch break and introduced by one of my coworkers, and I’m glad brought me here. It’s a little hidden inside a small plaza and there aren’t a lot of available seating so don’t expect to bring a big party. The service was quick and food came out fast and still tastes fresh and delicious. The sushi rolls we ordered had the right balance of rice and sauce and wasn’t too heavy. Just the perfect amount. The one thing I did notice about the sushi rolls was that the rice was very soft which made it even better. They also do have some rolls that are 50% off! The tonkatsu ramen was also good. I liked how the tonkatsu pieces they gave us were thick slices and not paper thin like most ramen houses. I’d say it was a successful first time there. Definitely recommend trying it out.

Hokkaido Ramen Santouka – Menu with Prices – 14230 Culver Dr, Irvine

This place has become my favorite Ramen spot in the OC. Located inside Mitsuwa Marketplace in Irvine, the restaurant is located at the back corner of the store (depending on where you park). Some things that you should know before going or considering: – Cash only – No “To-Go” option. You can ask for a container for your leftovers, but you cannot order directly to-go. – Close at 8:30PM. I’ve been here where they have turned people away at 8:25PM. Give yourself some time to ensure you find a table to sit at. – Weekends and dinner time can be busy. – Spicy Ramen isn’t spicy at all. (I’m a weakling when it comes to spice) – Enjoy the food. My go-to order is a large Spicy Ramen with extra green onion. Definitely recommend this place if you’re in the area or near a Mitsuwa marketplace. At the conclusion of this review, I am now craving ramen.
