Adorable spot that is a fantastic addition to the downtown lunch scene! You can find this gem located off Main Street across from the community center. There is a bright yellow entrance so it’s hard to miss! The interior has white walls and pastel colored decor. It is lunch room style so you order at the counter and they bring the food to your table. The staff is incredible. They greet you immediately with a smile and want to help you. I watched them walk up to each customer through the menu options and tell them every detail about the daily specials. They offer a variety of sandwiches and soups, fresh baked goodies and a fabulous salad bar! I opted for the sandwich special. It was a soft bun with bacon, cheddar, tomato and a jalapeño tartar. It was warm, fresh and tasted wonderful! I cannot wait to return to try the salad bar and other tasty options. If you haven’t already, check Lindi’s out!

Larry’s Lunch Box – Menu with Prices – 870 Neapolitan Way, Naples

I visited Larry’s last week for the first time. I ordered over the phone the #1 (Carol’s classic club). The sandwiches do not come with sides so I ordered fries on the side. It was 16.50 for these two times. This is way over my budget for lunch – but they do offer daily lunch specials for 9.95. The restaurant has about 5-10 tables inside and I saw a lot of people ordering to-go from this location. The cashier was very nice and I got my food and paid in about two minutes. Although the hefty price – the sandwich was huge and portion of fries could barely fit in the bag – I was pleasantly surprised!!! The sandwich was piled high with turkey, bacon, lettuce and tomato. Each bite was better than the next. The fries were super tasty and fresh. I could only eat half of the sandwich and the fries and saved the rest for dinner. It was well worth the money for this authentic tasty meal. I can’t wait to try everything on the menu!!

Downtown Deli & Eatery – Menu with Prices – 225 Market St # 1, Harrisburg

This place is unfortunately often an afterthought for many I know working downtown midweek. We need to change that! Located so conveniently to many office buildings, the deli serves breakfast and lunch at great prices and very promptly. I had lunch today well within my hour break. This is almost impossible except with fast food, and fast food doesn’t always offer a fresh, healthy variety. Two of us had cups of soup (cream of tomato and bean with bacon), a small chef salad, and a turkey, bacon, and provolone sandwich for under $18. The sandwich and salad were both full of good portions of meat and cheese. My salad container was similarly packed full. It was perfectly fresh with a variety of veggies including lettuce, tomato, carrot, cucumber, and green pepper. This place needs to get in my regular rotation.

B-rads Bistro Express @ 677 Menu with Prices 677 Broadway, Albany

B-rads is a small establishment inside of 677 Broadway in downtown Albany. It’s a place to grab breakfast or lunch and there’s soups of the day and daily specials – a nice variety. It’s great especially for those who work in downtown Albany who want something a little different than just your typical sandwich or salad. I had the maple chipotle BBQ chicken wrap. It’s listed on the menu online–not at the location. It’s made up of chicken with a sweet & spicy sauce, cheddar cheese & fresh, crisp coleslaw on a regular wrap. I requested greens in addition. The chicken was fresh and tasty, the greens were also fresh. I expected a little more flavor based on the name, but it was still a decent wrap. It’s a few bucks more than the other lunch stops in the area, but it’s definitely worth a second, maybe even third, trip.

Adrian’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 11120 Antioch Rd, Overland Park

Adrian’s is a diner without any thrills or frills, but I’ll tell you what, they get the job DONE! They do sandwiches like French dips, turkey clubs, BLTs, tuna salad, egg salad, etc. All your favorite deli type staples. They offer salads, soups, chips, homemade sweets, pickles, and soft drinks including tea. Great place for lunch as they do a lunch special. When you enter, you get in line and give them your order kind of like what you would do at a subway. I ordered a turkey club and I got my choice of break and cheese, and then they asked what toppings. It through me off a bit because I couldn’t actually see what they had, but since I ordered a club I just got your typical club things. They hand you your sandwich and you move through the line to pay. Now, I am NOT exaggerating when I say this is the best turkey club I’ve ever had. The bread is just out of this world. It looks thick, but fear not, it’s so light and fluffy it doesn’t over power the sandwich at all. They started with a hunk of fresh cooked turkey, and warm CRISPY bacon, then your other standard club items. It was delicious. I’d you’re looking for a quick, satiating bite to eat in a laid back environment (some booths, tables, seat yourself-after-you-pay-style) definitely give Adrian’s a go! I can’t wait to go back to try their other sandwiches!

Roma Catering Services & Romano’s Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2626 23 St NE, Calgary

I work close to the Calgary Herald Building so the area is mostly business, warehouses and the closest mall is the Mayland Heights Shopping Centre which only has a Vietnamese Restaurant, Subway and a Pub style restaurant. Spolumbo’s and Fiasco Gelato are also close by but variety is the spice of life so having a new kid on the block to go to for lunches is much welcomed. Roma Catering, a long time catering company has opened a small cafe in the Calgary Real Estate Board Building. Food is brought in from headquarters and there is always an lunch special for $10-12 and a couple of soups as well as a whole array of freshly made salads and sandwiches. Hours are Monday & Friday 8 a.m. to 1:30 p.m. Tuesday to Thursday 8 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. Hot Lunch specials change daily and is available between 11:30 and 1 p.m. Prices are very reasonable. My favourite go-to healthy lunch is the Roma Entree Salad which has greens, strawberries, candied walnuts, goat cheese, grapes and a nicely grilled chicken breast and a choice of dressing for $10. Soups are made from scratch and a hearty bowl of soup sets you back only $5. Prices do not include GST. Hot lunches vary from a bowl of chili with baked potato to Braised Pork with vegetables, BBQ Beef on a bun to Butter Chicken and the odd stir-fry. Specials change daily. The only day without a hot lunch special is Monday but Roma is testing out the market and as soon as demand warrants it I’m sure this will change. Work in Mayland Heights and looking for a new place to get lunch? Head on over to the CREB building. Prices are fair and portions good.

The Soup Shop – Menu with Prices – 4100 N Wickham Rd, Melbourne

Holy smokes this place is GREAT! I just opened a second office in Melbourne and have been searching for quick, healthy, and tasty lunch options. Yes, this place is perfect for that but it’s so much more! While not all their soups are available hot every day they are all available either cold or frozen. Salads and some sandwiches are also available but honestly the soup is where it’s at. They also have a “soup flight” – 3 soups for when you just cannot decide. I brought my salad back to the office because I happily filled up on my (small) soup. Today I had the vegetarian (maybe vegan – I don’t know – no ham) split pea but I already have 4 or 5 or 10 I want to try next. It’s a bit of a longer hike than I like from my office so I’m sure I’ll do some to-go as well as cold or frozen options for the house. The person who waited on me was very friendly and offered me a sample of the hot soups they had today when I couldn’t decide. (Honestly, the first one I tried was so good I didn’t bother trying another one!) They do have a lot to offer so I suggest checking out their “daily offerings” on their website prior to going in to speed up ordering. You can also text something to a number that sends you the daily offerings but clearly I have forgotten what the number and the phrase is… It seems like it’s in a kind of sketchy area (maybe I’m wrong) so I’ll probably stick to daylight hours but that’s fine by me! Seating inside and out. They have a small bar with various seasonings/toppings and crackers.

The Salad Place & Rotisserie – Menu with Prices – 5392 Mission St, San Francisco

So I love me some sandwiches! Like a true, hearty, fresh sandwich. There are not many places is the city that wow me in this space (sadly). That was until I found this gem! So I stumbled upon it when I had an intense sandwich craving. I ended up in the mission and was searching online for possibilities. This caught my eye and had an incredible menu (beyond extensive) so I gave it a shot! I can’t begin to express how impressed i was. Not only was the bread, cheese, meat, veggies all fresh and delightful, but the salad options blew my mind. Everything is made fresh daily, and you can taste it! Egg salad, crab salad, pasta salad, broccoli salad… it was a salad extravaganza. I ordered a panini and a veggie sandwich. The panini was a meal for 2 for sure, and the bread was so light and fresh. Plus I was able to save half for the next day (It was equally as amazing). The veggie sandwich was divine. The dutch crunch was some of the beet I’ve found, the veggies were perfect and crisp as well as generous portion size. I ended up ordering pasta salad as well just because the multitude of options were so enticing. And like the sandwiches, they definitely delivered a whole lot of deliciousness! They have sandwiches, paninis, wraps, coffees, breakfast sandwiches and side options, as well as a ton of healthy salad offerings. And to top it off there were the sweetest little ladies keeping everything going that made the visit even more enjoyable. Do yourself a favor… go! Even if it’s a trek, it’s totally worth the venture and your taste buds will thank you!

Paradise Food Court – Menu with Prices – 1220 Harrison Ave, Cincinnati

Brand new food court style restaurant open for lunch. Basically, it’s like a buffet with soup, sandwich , and salad bar, but you can really fill your plate with some awesome options. My wife and I have been here 3 times already and the freshness and quality of very good. If you love sandwiches, soups and salads you can basically build anything you want Coming from a Cullinary backround myself, I use the panini grill they have next to the sandwich station. I was able to make a Rueben on my first visit, a Cuban on the second, and a tuna melt on the third. Prices are very reasonable – you can get a plate of food, soup and a soft drink for $10 I especially like the unsweetened fresh squeezed lemonade because you can use whichever sweetener you prefer and they had truvia sweetened available. They also have fruit smoothies available and lots of healthy options. My wife likes the egg salad a lot. For me, the tuna salad is awesome! Great place to stop on for lunch if you work close to the area or live close and are looking for a nice healthy place to enjoy your afternoon.

Coteâ??s Portland Café – Menu with Prices – 1 Portland St, Portland

This is one of my favorite lunch places in Portland. The prices are reasonable, the food is really good and the customer service is some of the best around. If you go there enough, they will remember your name and greet you warmly. It makes all the difference sometimes. Everything is homemade and it shows. There are usually two new soups every day. I always check the website because they will post their daily soups and the mac and cheese of the day. The variety of soups is wonderful. I had the Southwest Chicken and Lime soup today. It was spicy and I’m glad I got the warning before buying it. The soups are always flavorful and well seasoned. I haven’t had a bad one yet! Plus, they give you a freshly baked savory biscuit to dunk in your soup. They have freshly prepared sandwiches. I’m partial to the chicken salad or the curry chicken salad. It’s really tasty and you can go for either a wrap or a selection of breads. I highly recommend the burrito bowls. For around $8, you can get a big container of rice, lettuce, beans, sour cream and your meat of choice. You can also get them meat-free and they are just as good. There are a bunch of add-ons for an extra fee including guacamole, extra sour cream, and roasted corn. The burrito bowls are so filling and it’s money well spent. I have yet to try the salad bar. It’s pay per pound and they have a variety of container sizes so you can get a big salad or a little side salad. The veggies all look fresh and there is plenty of variety to make any kind of salad you like. Breakfast is pretty straightforward. I like that you can get a bagel with cream cheese for about $2. If you aren’t a cream cheese fanatic, I would recommend asking for it to be on the side because they will give you a ton. They cook eggs to your specifications and they aren’t microwaved, but cooked on a real stove! What a novelty! Be aware that this place will be crowded during early morning hours and lunchtime. You may have to wait in line, but it will move quickly. I highly recommend stopping by 1 Portland Square and trying it out! I promise it won’t disappoint.

The Silly Axe Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2216 Dundee Rd, Louisville

My favorite restaurant in town, by far! This is a 100% gluten free restaurant so not only do I feel completely safe as a person with Celiac eating here, but chef Angela hits it out of the park! Her food is delicious!I am a regular here and I’ve tried many, many items on the menu and I haven’t found anything I don’t love. My favorite items (so far lol) Best, best Sloppy Joes ever! I’m obsessed! Pimento cheese sandwich (I love it on the Hoagie but probably my favorite is the classic white) Yummy yummy chili!! Even better when you add the chili on fries with cheese!! OMG tacos!! Her tacos on Thursday are to die for!!!! She makes the hard taco shells by hand and, oh yum…I could eat 100 of them!! They melt in your mouth! She also has the most delicious fresh homemade tortilla chips and fresh salsa! OK, lately she’s been making corn dogs and funnel cakes in honor of the fair and O.M.G. The corn dog, delish! And I don’t know what she does to the funnel cakes but seriously, they are insanely delicious!! A side note, I’m just thrilled she did this. I’ve really missed the fair food! It just makes me happy that I can have those once a year favorites. A person with Celiac really gets this! Other info, there’s parking in the front and there’s additional parking in their parking lot in the back, which is very convenient. They’re closed on Sundays but sometimes she offers pop up lunches. One time she did fried chicken! Check their Facebook. Also check their Facebook for daily specials. They offer various daily Quesadillas, soups and sandwich specials. I love to check her Facebook daily to see what she’s up to. Always something new and exciting! They offer a fresh variety of deli sandwiches. They have many signature sandwiches but you can also build your own. They have a grab and go section and you can take home many different items priced by the pound. Or choose to eat there if you like. She is now offering a meal special each week with a meat and 2 sides made fresh for I think $12.99. Or you can choose a 4 side vegetarian plate. She offers a fry (French fry) menu on special days and you can choose fresh toppings and dipping sauces. Bring your non gluten free friends, your gluten free friends, well anyone and try out this gem!

Plum Street Gourmet – Menu with Prices – 1831 Oregon Pike, Lancaster

If you are looking to splurge a little you must come to PLUM STREET GOURMET, for your catering needs OR for some take away lunch. I splurged a little today, we brought home a couple of their freshly made sandwiches … sauteed mediterranean veggies with hummus and feta. I usually get this sandwich as a wrap but the wraps were still frozen today … so I went with the focaccia. I did not like the focaccia … it did not taste very good specially with this type of sandwich … so stick with getting a wrap or chose another type of bread. I don’t recommend coming here hungry or you will leave with shopping cart of goodies… because everything looks delicious. Besides their sandwiches they have daily specials like chicken burritos or flounder with carmalized onions or chicken salad wraps … they also have different salads like quinoa and beet salad, jicama salad. The have a whole display dedicated to specialty cheeses ……….and the desserts !! O dear lord …. they make amazing baked goods … The chocolate chunk cookie and heath bar cookie are amazing and today they had a pear upsidedown cake (very yummie) The redvelvet cake is to die for…. super rich and big enough to share (or eat alone !! ) Prices are moderate to high … $7-9 per sandwich $5 slice of cake $.60 a cookie. Everything is pretty good so if you want to splurge, this is the place to come. ** please take note… if you order a sandwich here, always check to make sure it is the way you like it before you leave ; ) although these sandwhiches are good and the staff are friendly, they get easily confused when you deviate from the menu (and also when you don’t) For example we ordered 2 mediterranean sandwiches both with garlic aioli sauce, one with out feta, both grilled…. we got one sandwich with garlic aioli sauce both with feta , none grilled ; ( I felt like because we made a deviation it completely confused them (and not the first time this has happened) …. so just MAKE SURE they got it right BEFORE YOU leave and ENJOY !!

Nectar Coffee and Wine Bistro Menu with Prices 106 Hume Ave, Alexandria

I ate here with my mom and son on a Friday afternoon. I was quite surprised by how crowded it was for a weekday! Logistics: there is a parking lot off to the side of the building. Order at the counter, get a number, food is brought out to your table. Breakfast (or at least waffles) are served all day. In fact, I saw a table tent advertising a daily special of a waffle + a mimosa or Bloody Mary for $15. If you are in a lunch mood there are a variety of sandwiches and salads. All sandwiches come with either chips (just a bagged variety) or a salad. There are also options for 1/2 salad and soup but no 1/2 salad and 1/2 sandwich. They should change that! On this topic, they should also change their hours. Only being open until 5pm has made it hard to get here which is why it took me so long to finally visit. I had their chicken salad at the taste of Del Ray so I recommended that my mom try that. She chose wheat bread and a salad. The portion was large and my mom loved it! She said it was one of the best chicken salad sandwiches she’s had! It had grapes, apples, cranberries, and celery from my memory. The bread was delicious too- seeded on the outside with a thick crust. I chose the fig and prosciutto sandwich. I should have chosen wheat but chose white bread. I loved the salty and sweet combination! We both agreed the dressing for the salads, which was basically just olive oil wasn’t great. We both had iced tea unsweetened which was given to us by the cashier. Not sure if there were free refills or not. The inside decor is cute and they have a patio albeit small as well. And they have high chairs! I enjoyed my lunch and would definitely return!
