Place makes its own hours and is never open… 2 Days back to back I’ve been trying to go to this place and nothing. Website and advertising says one thing and another is done. Quite frankly all the lounges in the city of Augusta seem to work bankers hours. Not sure its good for business but as an Arab myself I can say this type of business would never cut it… I’m seriously unhappy with these business practices.. Close and stay closed if you’re never going to open…..

Machu Picchu Peruvian Grill – Menu with Prices – 7007 Bandera Rd, San Antonio

My son and I have tried to eat here three times, only to find it closed. The first two times were our fault. We hadn’t checked to see the hours, and showed up on a Monday when it was supposed to be closed. The second time, we planned to go for lunch. I made sure they were open that day, but didn’t pay attention to the times. Then we ended up switching to a dinner time meal. When we got there, we learned that it closed at 4:00 on Sundays. I know… My mistake. Today we covered all the bases. I checked and double checked to make sure it would be open when we arrived at 2:00 PM for lunch on a Tuesday. As we pulled up, we could see that it was dark inside. Then we saw the closed sign hanging in the window. I looked on the door to check the hours, and it should have been open today. Did it go out of business? I don’t know. Did they have a personal emergency that forced them to close down today? I don’t know. Will I give it a fourth attempt? I honestly just don’t know.

Skrimp Shack – Menu with Prices – 3600 N Duke St #28, Durham

Although the food at Skrimp Shack is great they are a business that lacks professionalism. Made a trip to Skrimp Shack on 5.18.19 at 6:00 pm and coincidentally they were closed. Although their were people in the restaurant the store had multiple hand written signs on it that said “closed for a family emergency.” Despite the emergency it should impact whether or not the business is open or not. It’s also not a good look to have people in your business eating while their are signs in the door professing that the business is closed for a family emergency. This is also not the first time that I’ve been the Skrimp Shack and their hours have said open yet they were mysteriously closed. Sadly enough I will not be back to patronize Skrimp Shack. As a business owner, I am disappointed in the way this business is ran.

Water and Ice Mesa – Menu with Prices – 4355 E University Dr # 115, Mesa

I am appalled at the first time (and last) experience I just had at this place. I find there location on google maps and it says they close at 7pm. I pull in at 645 and run up to the door to double check there hours and posted on the door is 8pm and I can see other customers inside. I grab a cart and take it to my truck to load the (6) 5 gallon jugs of water to be filled. I open the door and walk in and get stopped by a young male employee running up and standing in front of my waving his hands saying “No we are closed” I turn to look and there are four other customers off to the side ordering ice cream and I ask what about them. He tells me “that is it. Those are our last customers and we are closed come back tomorrow” After having that experience I load my 6 jugs back in the truck and leave. That was an absolute JOKE / unprofessional experience I have ever had at a business. Google says they close at 7pm, the front door says 8pm and either way its 645 but then to have an employee run up to you and stop you from coming in is ridiculous. If you have an employee running up to you it should be to give you a hand not to stop you from bring in business. That was so wrong of these people all because they were in a hurry to get out of work on a saturday evening. I WOULD STAY FAR AWAY FROM THIS PLACE AND EVEN DRIVE MILES OUT OF THE WAY TO TAKE MY BUSINESS TO SOMEONE THAT WOULD APPRECIATE IT!!!

Googly’s AM PM Eatery – Menu with Prices – 4124 S Staples St, Corpus Christi

I work in the restaurant business and understand the frustration of a customer coming in at the last 5-10 minutes before close, but this has been the third time that I have come before 9:30 and the store is closed. First time being that the open sign was on and the employee stated that they were closed, when I replayed â??itâ??s on 9:03 the door says yâ??all close at 10â? the only response I got from him was â??yeah well sorry we are closedâ? Second time the open sign was on again and I came at 8:40 just to be safe only to find the doors were lock on a Tuesday. I rushed so much to get out of work early so I could get some food only to be disappointed in locked doors. And today even as I post this it still isnâ??t 10 yet but I was over there at 9:20 and the employees stated they were closed. I know it would be better if I came during the day but I normally work all day, 10am-8pm.

Abbey’s Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 409 Monmouth St, Jersey City

I really wanted to like this place being that I live very close by and there are not many hookah places around, but due to their unethical business practices I will never be returning. I came here alone on a weekend night for some hookah, food, and wine. I gave the waitress my card and tipped her appropriately prior to leaving. The next day, I looked at my receipt and notice that prior to adding up the total cost, which has suggested tip %’s included on the receipt, she had already tipped herself 18%. So basically, she took it upon herself to tip herself 18%, then added that cost onto my bill and gave me a receipt that had suggested tips of 15%, 18%, and 20% ON TOP of what she already tipped herself. I went back the following day to complain about the unethical practices, and the woman did refund her 18% tip (as I tipped on-top of that), but only after I threatened to dispute the entire charge with my CC company because of their shady practices. I will never be returning and giving business to this establishment and suggest you do the same, unless you don’t want mind being taken advantage of.

Teriyaki Bento – Menu with Prices – 2295 Broadway St NE, Salem

Update: I had this at 5 stars, but the change is due to sporadic hours, I have tried to go at noon when they say they open, only to hang out till 12:15-12:20 because they are still closed, and then had to go elsewhere since no one showed, they also seem to randomly close and just put a paper sign in the window saying they aren’t opening today, I understand stuff happens, but when 40% of the times I have recently tried to go they have been closed during normal business hours there is a problem Ok, so I like to assume all places are a 5 star Place and add/subtract as needed, so plus one star for using a monkey in the logo, subtract a star for no fountain drinks, bottles/cans only, subtract another for ambiance, but back up to five for taste to dollars spent ratio. Overall I really liked this place, terryaki sauce not overly sweet, we had beef, pork, and chicken, all was good, and yakisoba noodles well above average

Groucho’s Deli Menu with Prices 758 Broad St, Augusta

This is the second location of this franchise that has been in Augusta. The first one was in the plaza on Agerton Lane in front of Regal Cinemas. I ate there a few times and actually enjoyed the food and services. I say a few weeks, if that, after my last visit that location was on the news for running drugs out of the kitchen, if I’m not mistaken!!! I was totally shocked and puzzled, I didn’t know what to make out of that situation and they soon closed down after that. That had to been 10+ years ago. I was bummed for a while until I saw they were bringing this franchise back to Augusta, and I’m so glad they did!!! I love this place. This location is on Broad Street, which is in a perfect spot for any kind of business. I went the First Sunday of 2019 after church and there was a continuous flow of patrons coming and going, which is a great sign of what’s to come. The place is super spacious, clean, and the employees are great as well!!! The food was just as good as I remember it and you get a great portion for the amount of money you pay. This place hasn’t been open only a few months and they are already a hit again. I will be back here soon since they aren’t far from my home and I travel Broad Street almost everyday!!!

The Mug Shakes – Menu with Prices – 12434 N Mainstreet, Rancho Cucamonga

Worst customer service experience I’ve had, and I never even made it inside. Heard about this place through a promotion they were advertising on my local news station for Halloween and decided I would check it out. Drove all the way out there only to find that they had closed an hour early. Business hours posted indicated they would be open from 10-8. When we got there at 7 the doors were locked and they had already started to clean up for the night. Nothing on their website indicated that they would be closing early for Halloween and there was no posting on the doors offering an explanation as to why they had closed early. We tried to get the workers attention to ask why they had closed early but they just simply went about their business and acted like we weren’t there. Very unprofessional.

TranquiliTea – Menu with Prices – 1400 Kempsville Rd, Chesapeake

This is the worst experience I’ve ever had at a tea shop. I visited TranquiliTea on two different occasions, both of which were within normal operating hours and yet the shop was still closed. Before I attempted on the third occasion I called and the shop was still closed but the owner agreed to meet me at the shop (she had been home with her 15 year old sons that had a cold). The shop is cute and has an open layout, however, the inventory was extremely limited, and all of the teas come prepackaged so that you can’t see or smell the leaves. This is odd for a tea shop. Despite my utter disappointment up until this point, it gets worse. I paid $26 for 100g (3.5 ounces) of Earl Grey. For anyone moderately aware of typical tea prices, this is unheard off. A good tea is typically three to four dollars an ounce, her markup put the tea at $9 an ounce. Doesn’t end there however, it’s really the gift that keeps on giving… when I get back to work to check out this $26 tea, I opened it up and it’s a vacuum sealed bag directly from the whole seller!!! I then go online because I have to see just how much this tea was marked up, I create an account online because you don’t have to be a business, and see that the exact earl grey I purchased is sold for $16.04 for a 500g bag!!!! I pad $26 for 100g. So essentially it’s $3.20 per 100g . So yeah, TranquiliTea is nothing more than a brick and mortar middle man. A hustler, a swindler, a bamboozler… I’ve been hoodwinked and I’m outraged. For the love of all things good, steer clear, save yourself a trip and either frequent Quintins Tea Emporium in Virginia Beach, or just go to www.jenierteas.com because that the supplier that TranquiliTea uses. This is egregious. A total violation of ethics and common decency. I do not recommend this shop, or agree with the business practices. I’m not sure if there are any laws against markup, I understand that profit must be made and that markups are a part of business, but this type of price gouging has got to be a violation of at least ethics.

URBAN Creamery – Menu with Prices – 689 Central Ave, St. Petersburg

The dessert here is delicious! I tried the waffle with strawberries, nutella, & ice cream and it was great. I took off a couple stars for 2 reasons: 1) The first day we came here, the store was closed even though it was supposedly open according to their store hours on their door and website. There was no notice of why they were closed and if they would be back. Since we were in the area the next day, we decided to give it another shot and are glad we tried it. However, there could have been some kind of posting somewhere – either on their door, social media, etc. as to why they were closed during hours they advertise as open. 2) This one is minor, but there wasn’t too much of a selection on their menu. A lot of menu items had banana, and since I’m not a fan of bananas, that narrowed down a lot of options for me. Regardless, if you’re in the area, I still recommend trying this place!

Prontofresh – Menu with Prices – 131 E Water St, Syracuse

Rushed over to this place on my lunch break. After reading the reviews of how good this place is I was really craving a healthy alternative to the mall food court choices. After trying both doors they seemed to be locked and after walking around the building to the back a guy comes out Iâ??m assuming the manager and said he closes early whenever he feels like it, today he closed at 3. It was 4pm when we arrived and google said they close at 5. If a business is going to operate on flexible hours they should update it on google or put a sign out saying theyâ??re closed so customers donâ??t waste their time trying to give them their business. Bad business decision and an inconvenience! We were so excited to try this little place out but my advice? Go early!

1 Fresh Stir Fry Grill – Menu with Prices – 1820 N Monroe St, Tallahassee

Tried this place for the first time and was pleasantly surprised with the food! It’s key to get a quesadilla and a stir fry bowl and split it with someone. Delish! We came close to closing time – yes- but still got there in time. We ordered our food and sat down and when my boyfriend asked politely if we could eat the food there (normally we wouldn’t ask but he saw them cleaning and was being nice), the lady said no because “they’re closed”. It was actually 4 minutes until closed and I always see that as poor customer service! As a restaurant you have a closing time but being in the restaurant industry you should know you will most likely stay open later than close when people come in late. This blonde cashier who already had a poor attitude telling us basically to leave made us so uncomfortable I’m not sure I’d like to order there again. Tips : let customers order food until close and then eat their food at your restaurant.
