I don’t base reviews off mood. I truly review based on experience and personal opinion. And I honestly feel so bad when I have to rate a business as a one star. I am a donut fanatic. Literally have at minimum, two donuts a week ? we found this shop while we were visiting another business in the same shopping center. It was a complete disappointment. I would have enjoyed a donut from King Sooper or even a gas station better. The lady in the store was very friendly. Shop is easily accessible from the street and has plenty of parking. I understand not having a large selection at noon, but our visit was in the morning. It was a weekend, but honestly, weekends are great donut days so shouldn’t they make more those mornings? They had ZERO glazed. I would guess that glazed is probably a number one seller and should not run out before noon.? We settled on maple, vanilla, and chocolate (all frosted) because they didn’t have anything else. The donuts were so dry and tasted like cardboard. My teenage son didn’t even eat his. 6 hard, dry, gross donuts cost as much as 12 fresh, soft, warm, moist, yummy donuts from Krispy Kreme. We do our best to support small and local businesses, but unfortunately, we will never visit this spot again. I said never. Waste of calories on this one.

Sugarboy Donuts – Menu with Prices – 10710 Eldorado Pkwy #110, Frisco

Honestly I wasn’t impressed. This place has great reviews and I’ve even been here a few times but I just don’t love their donuts. I’m simple when it comes to donuts. I don’t like anything too sweet or too fancy. When I go to donut shops, I always try a glazed donut and maybe a chocolate frosted (without sprinkles). Those are always the best measure of how their donuts truly are. I love big, fluffy yeast-risen donuts, don’t really crave cake donuts as much. I stopped in today on a late Tuesday morning and got a glazed donut plus their fruit+custard cronut. The glazed donut here was tiny and light. Since the donut was small, the glaze was overpowering. There’s a picture posted with someone’s comments saying best glazed donuts ever and that is a total lie. I’ve had plenty of donuts and their glazed wasn’t better than the rest. The fruit and custard cronut was ok. The dough was chewy but needing a bit more crust on the outside. The custard and fruit didn’t really add much spark. Didn’t feel like this place was that special. Just ok. Happy that they are doing well though! Just not the shop for me

K & M Donuts – Menu with Prices – 5036 Edinger Ave #1436, Huntington Beach

I was in the area looking for a donut shop. Based on the reviews of K&M donuts, I decided to stop in and buy something. Unfortunately, my doughnut was not fresh at all. In fact it tasted like it had been sitting in that donut case for a couple days. I got a maple glazed buttermilk donut. I’ve been buying the same donut for many years. This is the single worst donut I have ever had. Now I could see if this donut had been sitting in the bag or in the box for 2 to 3 days I’d imagine this is how the donut tastes. But for a freshly bought donut just before 12 noon, something is definitely wrong here. I should’ve known when I saw the donut case was not very full and there wasn’t a lot of selection. I think the owner is selling his older donuts at full price and not telling the customers. In all fairness, the person who helped me behind the counter was very polite and friendly. So for that reason I’m giving this donut shop two stars instead of the one star. Honestly the donut it’s self should not even be sold. It was in edible I ended up throwing it away. Too bad I didn’t give it a try in the parking lot before I drove off otherwise I would’ve asked for my money back. The fact at this donut shop has such good reviews makes me wonder… Are all of these good reviews fake?

Central Donuts & Bakery – Menu with Prices – 9500 Ray White Rd #167, Fort Worth

This was my go-to donut shop when I lived in the area several years ago. They had THE best apple fritters, which are my favorite, and THE best glazed donuts. After I moved away, I held every new donut shop’s apple fritters up against theirs and none ever passed. Theirs have apple filling you can see and taste. The donut itself is on the thinner side and with crispy outer edges. I love getting the different textural bites, some crispy and crunchy and some soft and gooey. The glazed donuts and donut holes are fluffy and just melt in your mouth. They are so light and airy and there is just enough glaze to give it a sweetness without being super sweet. You can’t get glazed donuts like this at just any other donut shops. I also enjoy their chocolate glazed, cinnamon rolls, and cake donuts. Sausage rolls are pretty standard. I was in the area recently and decided to stop in. Walking in, I was very pleased to see the same owners still there. They have always been super friendly and welcoming. I saw the same gentleman I remember working hard in the back making the donuts. You can even see him through an opening in the front. The kids in front of me were fascinated by him doing his work. It was cute. I got my beloved apple fritter and a few others. The fritter looked the same but honestly did not taste the way I remembered. The outer edges were crispy but the inner parts had a slight chew to it. It tasted good so perhaps just a hiccup in the cooking process. The glazed ones looked lighter in color but were just as fluffy and delicious. Still a very solid donut shop in the area!

Krispy Donuts – Menu with Prices – 3403 Louetta Rd Ste E, Spring

Hooray! I get to be the first person to leave a review on this establishment. I happened to stumble upon this place while driving home. The owners of the donut shop are the sweetest human beings I’ve ever met. They were so happy and welcoming. I ordered a glazed donut, a chocolate glazed donut, and a sausage/egg/cheese croissant. They even warm up your croissant for you if you want. This has to be a new donut shop because I don’t see how there aren’t any reviews already made. The donuts were like a hybrid of Krispy Crème and Shipley’s donuts in my opinion. I took a bite into one of the donuts and the interior was as soft as a cloud. The one thing I truly appreciated from their donuts was that it was not overly sweet like most of the big chain donut shops. I highly recommend those who are close to give this mom and pop shop a try. I love and a huge supporter of mom and pop shops.

ChuChu Donuts – Menu with Prices – 580 SW 9th St #116, Des Moines

Chu Chu donuts is easily my favorite donut spot in the Des Moines area. We were sad when they closed in Ankeny, but were happy to know they reopened downtown. They have a solid selection of classic donut favorites and some cereal or bacon donuts to fit the more decadent current trend as well. The donuts never disappoint whether it is the subtly sweet cake donut or the traditional puffed dough, they are the perfect texture and flavor. While I like a plain donut, the frosted or glazed donuts are just as good. While the distance makes it more of a rare occasion, I would highly recommend this place to anyone.

Donut Palace – Menu with Prices – 3300 Western Center Blvd #104, Fort Worth

Donut and kolache shop right by Ace Hardware. Inexpensive and gets the craving satisfied. We paid $10 for two glazed, two chocolate donuts, one ham and cheese croissant, and one Jalepeno pig kolache. I enjoyed the plain glazed donut the most after I microwaved it for 10 seconds. If they had been just out of the fryer, I bet it would have been even better. The chocolate donut was meh. I wouldn’t recommend it unless your kid is insisting. The jalepeno pig kolache was very good. The jalepeno certainly came through. I’m giving three stars because I wasn’t blown away at the taste of the donuts and kolaches, but I would return since it is so close to where I live and is reasonably priced.

Donuthut & Deli Menu with Prices 2401 M St #100, Bakersfield

Donut Hut & Deli absolutely has donuts! I did not notice a deli, though. Did I miss it? Was hard to peel my eyes away from their fully packed and nicely presented display cases. Bought me two donuts to satisfy my sugar craving. One Custard filled Chocolate donut and one Chocolate French Cruller. Was surprised it costed me almost 4 dollars for just the two donuts, but it was nice of the guy to add some glazed donut holes in the bag. The Chocolate Cruller tasted yummy. Donut holes were good. Was disappointed with the Custard filled Chocolate donut because there was very little custard inside. Tough luck for me. Despite the fact that I was not happy with one of the donuts, I’d still return the next time I was in the area craving my sugar fix. The shop was neat and tidy. Nice seating area. Polite service.

DONUT QUEEN – Menu with Prices – W Park Blvd #112, Plano

Typical Asian (pretty sure Korean) owned donut shop that provides fresh donuts at a reasonable price. They also have some specialties (cronuts) and do customized donuts (name spelt donuts). We actually sat down at one of the two tables available to enjoy our donuts this past time. The lady working later then brought us two chocolate and two strawberry frosted donut holes in a bowl for free to us and said we should have told her we were staying as she would have given us a plate instead. She also told us which of the two coffee pots were fresher when we ordered coffee. One had just been brewed. Super nice. I also often find a couple of free donut holes in my to go bag each time I visit. Will definitely be back!

Sweet Donuts – Menu with Prices – 800 E Arapaho Rd #112a, Richardson

I was up early and it would be hours until lunch so I needed something to tie me over until lunch. This place was on my way and I stopped to check it out. It’s a donut hole-in-the-wall place as most mom and pop donut shops are. The guy behind the counter is stoic. It was relatively late and there wasn’t a huge selection. Normally I get a buttermilk (cake) donut, but it looked like they were out. I instead, got two glazed donuts. The donuts themselves were pretty good. Average to above average. The icing was still moist, enough that it didn’t fall off when you bit into the donut, but not so moist that it stuck to everything (other than the donut). I could have used the donut just fried a little more to make it more crisp, but that’s getting a little nit-picky. At $.65 each, that’s $1.41 out the door for two glazed donuts. Yes, I got three free donut holes, but that’s a relatively expensive donut. I can get cake donuts at other places for $.75 and I think that’s verging into the high side. Glazed donuts should be closer to $.50. I know what you’re thinking, “What’s $.15, dude?” It’s not that it’s just $.15, it’s that it’s 30% more than what I would expect to pay. I probably won’t come back here when there are better donut places with a better selection for better prices that are nearby.

Honey Donuts – Menu with Prices – 2141 E Arapaho Rd, Richardson

I’ve lived in the area a little over a year and have finally found the absolute best donut in town. We ate a lot of donuts in the meantime, but Honey Donuts made it all worthwhile the minute I walked in and she handed me a warm glazed donut. I’m a baker, from a long tradition of bakers in the family, but we don’t fry at home a lot for various reasons, so when we partake of deep fried deliciousness we want the best. Honey Donuts delivers! Their glazed donuts are so good, completely enrobed in a glaze that’s not too thick, not too sweet, with a hint of vanilla and honey. The glaze had dried to a perfect consistency and not sticky. The bottom of the donut had a lovely crispiness as well. I thought those were the best donuts I’d ever tasted till I had one of their cake donuts. Wow! I’m hooked. This is not your ordinary, run of the mill donut batter that all the donut places in town seem to buy en masse, this was unique, delicious, perfection from someone who cares about offering a quality product. The best thing about this place besides how sweet the proprietors were, was they were frying another batch of donuts at 11am and the case only 1/3 full and the shop empty. The reason? Even though they had plenty for me to choose from, they fry donuts all morning so they can offer the best donut no matter what time you happen to walk in. I was actually headed to another donut shop, but I’m so glad I stopped here!

Donut Shoppe – Menu with Prices – 1535 University Blvd N, Jacksonville

Donuts in Jacksonville seem to be a scarce thing. I’m not talking about chain donuts (because those guys are everywhere), I’m talking about good ol’ fashioned mom-pop donuts. The Donut Shoppe has definitely made its mark in this town. When I first arrived to Jax, I asked all the locals I met where they would get their donut fix and all of them pointed me to The Donut Shoppe. And I will have to admit, I was pleased with most of the donuts I’ve tried. Plain cake – meh. I thought that maybe the batter would be sweeter. This is honestly like eating an unsweetened cake. Glazed cake – my favorite type of donut is a cake donut. You can’t go wrong with a good old fashioned glazed cake like this one. The only thing is I felt like the cake was a little greasy compared to other places. Strawberry cake – this was awesome with all the little bits of strawberries mixed in the batter. Again, their cake donuts are on the greasier side. Blueberry cake – like the strawberry donut, this was great because of all the blueberry bits found mixed in the batter. Cinnamon cake – for those cinnamon lovers out there. It’s almost like a churro. Noms. Coconut cake – I wanted to try this because I saw so many pictures on yelp of people showcasing this donut. Yes, it looks very ‘grammable, but I wasn’t the biggest fan of the coconut shavings. I’m not the biggest fan of dried coconut to begin with, but the coconut just seemed to make the donut taste and feel very dry while eating. Devil’s food cake – Honey dip – soft and chewy. Winnie the Pooh would enjoy this. The Ugly – if you’re into apple fritters, this one’s for you. It’s big, it’s sweet, it’s sticky. So much flavor, definitely a must try for anyone lucky enough to stop by while these bad boys are still in stock. Glazed – soft and chewy donut. The perfect amount of sugar glaze on top. Chocolate glazed – the chocolate melts all over the place, but I don’t mind. Bavarian cream – too much cream for me, to be honest. It was so sweet that my teeth hurt. Strawberry filled – this would have been better if the filling to donut ratio was better. I guess I’m not much of a filled donut person. I would only really be able to make it in time if I were on a night shift for work because I could swing by in the morning before going home. That’s the thing, you have to get here early because they will literally run out of donuts. I honestly came in around 10am on a weekend and most of their selection was already sold out!

Dv’s Donuts Menu with Prices 1831 Brown Blvd, Arlington

I’ve been coming here on and off for years now , and never had a bad experience until today . I came in patiently waiting for my turn, and while she finished someone else’s order , she asked me what I wanted. I asked for a pink donut, two chocolate glazed, and a blueberry donut. She repeated my order & said , “one pink, two blueberry, one chocolate?” I corrected her and she nodded. I went to pick out a drink and paid. When I got to my job I realized she gave me two glazed instead of chocolate , as I asked twice . Since I didn’t work far I drove back and told her politely “I just came and asked for two chocolate glazed , a pink, and a blueberry, and you gave me two glazed. She just started at me and snatched the bag of donuts that I put on the counter . She placed the two glazed back on the rack which in my opinion is extremely unsanitary! She grabbed the two chocolate , put it on the counter , and said to me “ok give me 10 cents. I asked her , 10 cents for what ? And she loudly told me ” you make me switch them , you said glazed and now you want chocolate so give me 10 cents. I can’t believe on top of confusing my order twice , making me drive back to the shop, she would dare to charge me a damn dime. I told her , no you got my order wrong that’s not my fault . She laughed and yelled “ok bye!” I left furious and embarrassed. I will NOT return to this donut shop managed by a rude, unsanitary woman.
