I really enjoyed this place. Its definitely very cute, very homey, and the wines have such a unique taste. Id recommend this for a little date trip for someone to take a beautiful drive out and to enjoy a glass of wine. But first off: this place is about 7 miles east off 99 and shaw. It takes you through beautiful vineyards and the drive is spectacular. However, this place is kind of hard to get to if you dont know where you are going. It is kind of hidden when you turn off the main road of shaw and all. But its a hidden gem. The winery itself. I liked it. Its like a small little barn that is very tastefully decorated and reminds me of a rustic barn. It would be a great venue to host a wedding or something. But it just has that little magical feeling when you walk through it. When wine bar is pretty nice, a little small, but from being open for 3 years, its expected, and Im sure that it will only grow out from here on out. So the wines, I felt that they have a good wine selection. I tried the three rivers and it was good. Its dry and refreshing. I enjoyed the Syrah. To me, it felt that it had lots of body to it, and it was very savory. The wines are all very fragrant and it really has a good taste on your pallet. I am in no way shape or form a wine snob at all, but I can tell there is some thought and elegance to this wine from this winery. Kudos to this winery and I know I will stopping by this winery again.

DArgenzio Winery and Tasting Room – Santa Rosa – Menu with Prices – 1301 Cleveland Ave Ste A, Santa Rosa

Family and I were planning a trip to the area for another winery, and since we were going to be in town for the weekend we wanted to visit another winery. Originally we were going to visit a bigger-name winery, but it took many phone calls to get them to answer my questions about their various tours, and none of the employees seemed too enthusiastic about helping me, so I decided to find a different winery with better service, especially since we were going to be in an area with so many options. D’Argenzio was one of the wineries that came up in my search, and when I called, the owner answered, and not only answered my questions quickly, but recommended I purchase a Groupon to get the best deal and the antipasti board. Looking at the menu and speaking with the owner convinced me that this was going to be a nice place for my family to visit. We enjoy pairing our wines with food during tastings so we can get an idea of what we will do with our wine when we get home. When we arrived, the owner greeted us in the parking lot. It was also nice because two of the people in our group ended up with broken legs at the time of our trip, and the parking spaces are at most a few steps from the winery. When we checked in Rachel offered to seat us inside or outside, which was nice to have the choice. She also let us walk around to see the winery and make our decision. The whole place was cute and picture-worthy, but it was a nice day and the trees provided some nice shade, so we chose the back patio. We were given 5 or 6 tastings, and Rachel was great, paying attention to which wines we enjoyed and providing additional tastings of those when it came to figuring out what we were going to buy. That personal touch went a long way and that was how I decided which bottles to purchase. We had our antipasti boards, which came with a nice variety of breadsticks, meat, cheese, and their prosciutto-wrapped asparagus. We also ordered an appetizer plate of the asparagus because we love asparagus! None of the food disappointed and the wine was great too! If you eat pork and like asparagus, I highly recommend trying the asparagus. They have a nice variety of wines that suites different palates. All of us in the group like different wines, and each of us found at least one wine that we enjoyed. We have already recommended D’Argenzio to others and look forward to returning whenever we are in the area.

Robinette’s Apple Haus & Winery – Menu with Prices – 3142 4 Mile Rd NE, Grand Rapids

I came to visit family in GR and was excited to try this place after reading about it. I love to support small family owned places and I am familiar with how wine tastings work (I work at a winery here in Chicago) and I have to be honest and say this one was NOT good! 1. What winery closes at 5:30pm on a Saturday night?! 2. We walked in, it was sort of busy but not really. There was an open spot at the end of the bar so I walked up and the bar/winetender greeted me. Unbeknownst to me, another employee was telling the 2 women I was with that there was an “order” they were doing the tastings in and apparently there were 2 other girls “waiting and ahead of us”. I have never heard that before. If there is a spot open at the bar, you walk up. The 2 girls literally pushed me out of the way and were really rude (not the winery’s fault but still). I was aggravated at that point. 3. We were given a sheet to fill out. NONE of the wines were explained. How am I supposed to know what’s in your blends? A little explanation of the wines OR a sheet that explains them would have been appreciated instead of having to guess. 4. The amount of the tasting was VERY LITTLE and I mean VERY little. We pour 1.5oz for each of our tastings. This was barely even a sip, no joke! 5. Overall I was REALLY disappointed in this as neither of the 2 women I was with had ever been to a wine tasting and I was so exited to take them. Needless to say from this experience, I doubt they’ll ever go to another one. This place might be good for other things in the fall but as far as wine tastings go….. would not recommend ?

Holme Estate Cellars – Menu with Prices – 216 N Coast Hwy, Oceanside

I’m not the biggest wine drinker but I do appreciate good wine and they have that here at Holmes. I was very surprised to see a wine tasting room in Oceanside. So when I heard about it I had to try it out. They’re not in a big location and I kind of like that because you get that personal touch. Scott who is the man is very helpful, very knowledgeable about the wines and doesn’t look down on you because you don’t know your wines. I’ve been here twice now and each time I really enjoyed myself. The tasting room is very well put together and they have a wonderful lounge area as soon as you walk in the front door. They offer flights, tastings, glasses of wines and of course bottles. A friend of mine bought a bottle of Rosé which is my favorite wine here at Holmes. I can’t wait to come back because the wine is great, Scott is excellent at his job and the prices aren’t bad at all. This just may become my spot!

Fiorelli Winery – Menu with Prices – 4250 County Road 675 E, Bradenton

Wow! Such a great experience at this winery and vineyard. I live in Bradenton and was looking for something to do on Valentine’s Day with my boyfriend. Upon searching online, I stumbled upon this winery. I asked around and only heard positive experiences, so we went ahead and booked their “Cheese and Crackers” tour online. When we pulled up, we both commented that we were surprised we had never noticed it before! It’s located very near to Hunsader’s Farm. Upon arrival, we were greeted by two friendly faces. The first (who unfortunately I cannot recall her name) was Rosa’s daughter and she did our wine tasting. She told us about the history of the winery and she was very knowledgable about the wines. The wines are made from muscadine varietals, so they are not your classic Cab or Merlot. The wines were very interesting and tasty. She also pointed out the impressive antioxidant levels. After the tasting, we were given a tour by DK who showed us how/where they ferment the wine. He also walked us through the vineyard, showing us which vine was what type of grape and answering any questions we had. He then walked us to the table they had set up for us in the vineyard and brought out our “cheese and cracker” plates. The plates consisted of cheese, crackers, fruits, and deli meats to snack on. We were both so impressed with this experience. Our table was by itself in the vineyard on a beautiful February day. It was such a romantic and intimate spot to enjoy a light lunch that I almost don’t want to tell others about this gem. The wine was excellent and we indulged in half a case to bring home. Both of the employees we spoke with were knowledgable and very friendly. Also, the place has a very family-oriented feel, which I loved. Not only will we be back to buy more wine, this place will now be on the top of our list for date nights or any events we may host. Highly recommend to all wine lovers!!

Wilhelm Family Vineyards – Ventana – Menu with Prices – 5425 N Kolb Rd #119, Tucson

We wanted to love this place. It has such a great story with the first female wine maker in Arizona, who is knowlegable, fun and charismatic, if not a bit too talkative, a lovely atmosphere here, and an a beautiful winery in Elgin. Sadly, after two visits, we just had to say we won’t be back. Despite a nice white, whose name I can’t remember, all the reds in the flights we tried were just … not good. We left most of them barely touched. None of our party enjoyed them. The owner and the manager, who were both very nice, offered a port for dessert, which I have to admit was actually well rounded and lovely. The tapas selections were quite nice, so I can recommend those.. . I understand Wilhelm has done well with some of their wines at competitions, but I feel that I am missing something because I just didn’t care for them. Obviously other people do. We tend to prefer red wine, so since none of us enjoyed their reds, we won’t be back, which is a shame since we wanted to support or local wineries.. . A 4 for the white, 3 1/2 for the port, 1-2 for the reds, 4 for the tapas and 5 for the ambiance.

Buy The Glass Wine Bar & Lounge – Menu with Prices – 19620 Kuykendahl Rd Suite 140, Spring

Super nice staff but for a wine bar, the wine selection was very limited. They were out of the first 5 wines we attempted to order. I went knowing not to order anything fancy but just out of too many options in general. I also felt like the pics were a little deceiving. It looks so trendy and cute with the records and seating online but it’s smaller and darker once inside. I really wished this woulda had more wine and “felt” like it does online. I was ready to make it my new wine spot but it needs some love and a little TLC. â?

The Broadway Wine Merchants – Menu with Prices – 17 Oakway Center, Eugene

I really enjoyed this neighborhood wine bar! I pass this spot every day and finally decided it was time to give it a try. While I didn’t get to the food (which looked pretty enticing with charcuterie boards, sandwiches, and other finger foods) the wine was excellent! The staff were extremely helpful in helping us decide on a glass, and there was quite a selection of house wines and other specials to try. There is also a wine store within where you can buy a bottle to take home (mostly upper end on pricing, but there is also quite the $10 selection as well) or they will open it for you there for a $5 corking fee. It is a nice, intimate space with Sunday mimosas and brunches, a T.V with the game on, and a great place for conversation. There are also tables outside to sit and watch the Oakway passerby! They also have a wine club and always seems to have events going on.

Jean Farris Winery & Bistro – Menu with Prices – 6825 Old Richmond Rd, Lexington

As you will see from my profile, I haven’t shared many reviews and frankly decided to sleep on whether to add one here. The last time we ate at Jean Farris Winery was approximately two + years ago and we absolutely loved it. I remember leaving that evening feeling like it was a special one and that we were lucky to have such a unique dining experience in Lexington. We had dinner here last night and the first red flag should have been the nearly empty parking lot at peak dinner hour on a Friday night. I have to admit I was surprised walking to our table as I remembered the interior being much nicer. The host and wait staff were friendly but dressed inappropriately to be servers at such a nice restaurant. Our waitress was very kind and honest when we asked for opinions on certain menu items which I appreciated. Our waitress offered to allow us to try three separate house wines. I am not a wine snob but they were not good and I almost spit one of them out as I tried it as it tasted soured. It was disappointing because I remembered liking their wines on our last visit. We opted for a commercial brand. The wine glasses they brought to the table were cloudy and had the appearance of having a slight film – not a good impression for a winery. Our dinner was a disaster. My wife’s salmon was over cooked and the topping was not appealing visually or to taste. Our friend and I got the scallops and they were over cooked and chewy. I asked for a glass of red wine with dinner and was told they only had the house wines by the glass so opted for the smallest possible pour of more palatable samples we had earlier. I admit being angry as I paid the $200 bill for several reasons. 1) We weren’t honest with the chef when he asked our opinion on dinner, we all politely said “it’s good” when we could have provided constructive feedback; 2) the $200 could have been spent on a much better meal elsewhere in Lexington and 3) the unique gem of a place I remembered had lost all of its luster. The icing on the cake was when the host asked if it was just one for dinner (me) as I waited by the door for my wife and friend as we were leaving. He had seated us earlier and I had just spent two hours in the sparsely populated dining area so I have to admit it was a little weird to me. Will not be returning.

Falls Village Wine & Beer – Menu with Prices – 6675 Falls of Neuse Rd #131, Raleigh

When I’m in north Raleigh, I always make sure to stop by Falls Village Wine & Beer for a quick beer or three… or a glass of wine on tap. It’s tucked away behind TJMax & HomeGoods off Falls of Neuse, but don’t let the hidden location deter you – it’s a hidden gem! There’s tons of parking out front, and the inside space is so open & airy. Love the gender neutral bathrooms too, so efficient. OH, and omg I love the wood bartop & glasses they use – you can tell the owner, Jim, put a ton of heart & soul into this place ? the customer service is top notch! You can also bring your own food in or get it delivered, and I think they have food trucks on weekends too. They’ve always got 12-16 rotating craft beer taps, many of them local but others from across the country – and some rare beers too! They’ve got a great selection of beer to go also… and some great bombers for bottle shares. Their wine program is awesome! They’ve got 6-8 wines on tap & the selection is always great! I love their wine tastings too. They always have SUCH a great wine selection – some very affordable, while others are great aged selections I don’t often find in the triangle. I like the way it’s laid out & easy to find everything. All in all, Falls Village Wine & Beer should be at the top of your North Raleigh drinking spots… whether for a work event, solo for a drink with a fun bartender, or takeout wine or beer – FVWB has all you need!

DeAngelis Cantina del Vino Winery Menu with Prices 7879 Jackson Rd D, Ann Arbor

I came to DeAngelis for the pre-opening tasting and tour via groupon with a friend. The place is slated to open in June of this year with plans to add an outdoor lounge area and stage so guests can enjoy live bands. When you arrive now, the place looks like anything but a winery and we were skeptical and confused so the renovations are much needed I think to lure future patrons in. The package included a very long list of mostly red wines for sampling and came with a delicious platter of accompaniments (cheeses, bread, pepperoni, chocolate mini muffins, and olives). I am a clear cut white wine only type of girl and there were only two whites to be sampled out of the bunch. I took the opportunity to explore reds I would never normally order, but out of the ten I liked zero! Turns out DeAngelis winery specializes and serves only “natural/organic” wine sans the normal sulfates and sugars that I’m use to flavor wise. I prefer sweet wines like moscato and Riesling and palate wise nothing at DeAngelis was for me. I dig the all natural thing and love the concept but every wine had a STRONG pepper over/undertone. My friend wasn’t able to have more than a sip or two on quite a few of the samplings before dumping the remainder out due to the potency of the pepper flavor. I have never experienced that flavor in my wine and imagine it’s part of the natural processing. When I spoke with DeAngelis himself, he was understanding and let me know they plan on having rock candy available as stirrers to those who prefer sweet wines when they open. They have plans to serve sangria as well which would work for me I think. We toured the facility with DeAngelis and his passion for the place, the process, and the product was infectious. The place is super clean and I learned a few fun facts about wine that will make me seem like more of a connoisseur than a wino in the future. There were around ten to fifteen other couples in our tasting group and everyone but us stayed to order bottles to go. While the majority of wines we had were concoctions I would never order again, it was a fun and education experience and I would love to see how the outdoor space turns out when they officially open.

Savour Wine Lounge – Menu with Prices – 5222 Doniphan Dr Suite B, El Paso

I consider Savour Wine Lounge to be a hidden gem in west El Paso. It’s a really cute place that’s intimate and cozy. The music is at a perfect volume. It’s clean and calm in there. This is perfect for me! I recently bought a bottle of Ghiga Moscato to take home. I also bought some for a friend’s party. I finished one bottle by myself in two days. I usually don’t finish a bottle of wine but this wine is delicious! It has such a crisp and sweet taste. It’s not dry or tart and it goes down smoothly! It’s a perfect dessert wine to drink with a piece of cake or bowl of ice cream. This is my new favorite wine. I like that Savour Wines sells wine from countries like Italy and Spain, also smaller wineries in California. You really can’t purchase these wines anywhere else, just online or if you travel to those places. Savour Wines has been offering their wines to local restaurants too. I’d say just go buy from them directly. I’m pretty sure they’ll give you a sample or two. The owners know their products very well and they’re a fun bunch! The holidays are coming…why not buy your favorite people a bottle of wine from here? I’m sure their wines are a perfect addition for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas dinner. A white wine from here would be perfect with turkey dinner! The moscato…with a slice of pie! If you enjoy wine and haven’t gone to Savour Wine Lounge, now is the time. I can’t wait to go to their brunch on Sunday. They offer bellinis rather than just the typical mimosas. Savour Wines also offers free pizza with the purchase of wine on Thursdays. They have live jazz music on Thursdays, too. What more can you ask for? I’m eager to try more foods from their menu. I’ll be going back! This may be a new spot to hang out for me.

Kiepersol Vineyards, Winery, Distillery, The Grand Room & Salt Kitchen – Menu with Prices – 21558-A Merlot Ln, Tyler

Had a fabulous time at Vine Day. Was our first outing to Kiepersol Winery. Wine was wonderful the Winery was gorgeous, the staff was very friendly. Only downside to our outing was I called during the week to inquire about the tours of the Winery and Distillery. Was given information about times and cost along with tastings. Drove 2 hours and the tours were altered because of their event. What would have been the same price for both tours turned into 1/2 a tour with no tastings offered. That would have been something the staff should have needed to know when guest inquired before hand. We would have chosen another day to come for a visit. We really wanted to see the Distillery as well. Another couple in our group had called in advance also and was misinformed too. The lady brought that to our guides attention and our guide did offer us one tasting, thank you. I would highly recommend the Winery as a must see. Beautiful grounds.
