I can’t believe I didn’t already write a review about this place! I thought I did a while back – after my first visit. OK, here we go::: This little food trailer puts out the most scrumptious Asian fusion tacos and flautas ever! I admit, even though i’ve eaten flautas several times in my life, I didn’t know what they were called. Well, I know now – and will never forget – because of this business. First off, the owner, Esther is a sweetheart in both personality and customer service. Another gentleman named David was so friendly as well. I’m sure they noticed how I reacted when I first started digging in. It looked so freakn good, I totally forgot to take photos (next visit for sure). I wish I wasn’t working right now or I’d make the trip out there! Totally out of my way, but who cares when you find a hidden gem like this. Oh, find them on FaceBook if you want to see a ton of photos. Happy Dining!

Easy To Go Tacos Garces Family – Menu with Prices – 1393 E Alton Gloor Blvd #15, Brownsville

I was a big fan of their beef flautas, but the quality of the food is never consistent. In the past year or so the quality has changed. Unfortunately it’s a hit and miss place because of this. If you order the flautas for take out they charge you extra if you want salsa, so that means that if I eat in they will take away the salsa on the tables if I order flautas? The tacos and flautas are super greasy and the beef they use for the flautas tastes very different, almost like barbacoa, and that is not the taste I am looking for in a flauta. Sometimes the tortillas they use seem fresh but most times they seem to be fried earlier in the day and used throughout the rest of the day.

Blue Reef Sushi & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1080 S Broadway #201, Lexington

I used to love going here. Key word: used to. On this most recent visit, I walked in and stood there for about 10 minutes waiting at the register. While waiting, I noticed an older gentleman behind the glass on his phone. I waited a few more minutes, still nothing. I walked up to the side the gentleman was on and tried to get his attention by politely saying “excuse me.” He never looked up from his phone, no acknowledgement whatsoever. So, I walked out. There were two other gentlemen who were dining in and saw the whole exchange. Even they were surprised by what happened…or I guess, didn’t happen. Needless to say, I’m disappointed as I’ve experienced such bad customer service from here.

bar purlieu – Menu with Prices – 1530 Willamette St, Eugene

One of the best meals I’ve ever eaten! Please excuse that my photos, except for the foie gras, were taken well after digging in. The food was beautifully plated and we were excited to taste each dish so I forgot to take pictures but I wanted to remember the dishes because they were delicious! Some in our group were a little hesitant to drive hours out of our way from landing at PDX to staying at Seaside beach. EVERYONE agreed after that it was well worth it! We ordered the tasting menu and were delighted by each dish. I was so excited to eat the next dish that I missed photos of two dishes: crispy fried chicken with a sauce verde slaw and housemade sausage with croquettes on a three bean sauce. The texture combinations of each dish were unique and flavors bursted forth from freshly sourced local ingredients and different seasoning. I asked for a wine recommendation and it paired well with each dish. My mouth is watering as I write this. We eat out and travel often and food sometimes tastes the same across different restaurants in different cities or I wake up thirsty in the middle of the night. This was not the case at Bar Purlieu! We will find a way to return!

Del Carmen Catering – Menu with Prices – 7800 Spring Valley Rd, Dallas

If there’s one thing you take from this review, its that this place has amazing meats. Also keep in mind that this restaurant shares the same building as the panaderia. The bathroom is also tucked far in the back of the panaderia, so ask if you don’t see it. Antonio is a one man show. He takes the order, makes the food, and serves it with a big smile. I ended up k Their carnitas are some of the best Ive had. Crispy outside, juicy, tender, and full of pork flavor. Their carne asada is delicious, especially since they use ribeye. The beef itself is full of flavor. Their barbacoa is a great blend of moisture and structure. The pastor is legit, especially with the strip of pineapple in each taco. Probably the only improvement I could see is if it had more of a char. Even the chicken in the flautas was delicious. The flautas themselves were crispy crunchy, loaded with corn oil. The crema and veggies on top felt so fresh digging into them. I especially loved topping this with salsa verde. Their pina aqua is quite delicious. It had a bold, pineapple taste with the right amount of sugar. Im quite excited that this place exists so close to my home. Ive been bringing all my friends to this place, in hopes that they can enjoy the magic that happens here!

Aqueous Vapor – Columbia Conley Rd – Menu with Prices – 6484, 21 Conley Rd ste q, Columbia

I have been using a vape for about five years now and no one has ever taken the time or provided me with the expertise that I received today at Aqueous Vapor. David, the gentleman who assisted me, went above and beyond for me today. I was so frustrated because the last few vapes I’ve had have crapped out on me and I wasn’t having any clue why. He answered all my questions, provided me with all the knowledge I needed and way more, and helped me pick out exactly what I was looking for. He spent my whole lunch hour with me making sure I was totally taken care of. I will never go to another vape store in Columbia, MO. I will be a sole Aqueous Vapor customer from now on!

VIVA Medicare Cafe – Menu with Prices – 3071 Dauphin St, Mobile

Easy and everyone in this office is helpful in every way. Thank you to Mary and David. I may have David’s name wrong, but it’s the middle aged man, who’s usually there.

World Famous Ride Hard Saloon – Menu with Prices – 2620 9th St W, Bradenton

David C.’s self-righteous review wrapped in moral superiority notwithstanding, this is an awesome bar. I’m sure they are thankful losers like David no longer go there.

Four Strings – Menu with Prices – 1730 S 8th St, St. Louis

Bad experience. We had a girls night planned for months and decided this was the best place to start our evening. All the reviews state “good food”, the website offers a menu, photos of “bar food”, and is also recognized in magazines as a place to get good food and service. Well, not so much for us. We were so excited to be going here do to the Goldern Girls theme and it being our annual girls night out, unfortunately it turned out to be not so good. We ordered burgers, and chicken strips with some drinks, chicken strips were raw in the middle. At first the gentleman was very nice and apologetic, then a few of us got our burgers. Raw and frozen still In the middle. The man then tried to make it right again by making us new food. We sat, and sat, and sat, finally the man says I’m so sorry what did you order and did you pay for it?? Really !? Then he proceeds to apologize and tells us that this was really not a restaurant and they didnt particularly sell FOOD! He ended up giving two girls a free shot and gave one girl her food money back. What bothered us the most is that they promote food. And then when the food service was terrible, they claimed they didnt !

Fresh Smoothies & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 2450 Creston Ave, The Bronx

I would like to think it was because I came in 15 min to closing but that shouldnt change the attitude that you have towards the customer. I walked in and the ladies were talking they looked at me and continued talking. Very disrespectful didnt get greeted or anything, so I said excuse me and asked for what I wanted. Then I told her ill buy an orange juice aswell only for the simple fact that I wanted to see the machine working she stated that the machine is off and the juice was premade that defeated the purpose of wanting the juice so I didnt get it, but They have a lil process that’s done to meet customers satisfaction they serve you an ounce or 2 of w.e. smoothie you ordered to taste for perfection incase you want to add anything or change anything but as I get my sample the lady started to pour it in the cup, didnt wait for my opinion. It wasnt as cold as I would have wanted it to be but didnt wanna start anything I just said it was fine. The one moping gets mad because my boots were dirty she told me to stand by the door and the other lady tells me to come over to the cashier to pay and the one mopping gets mad. I just think for a first time experience on a Friday night it should have been a little better.. I’ll come again another time maybe I’ll change my rating but as of now very disappointed

Pinches Tacos Henderson – Menu with Prices – 2550 St Rose Pkwy suite 110, Henderson

I have heard about Pinches Tacos and have wanted to try it for a long time. Once one opened up in Henderson, I knew I had to try it. We dined in for the first time and we were greeted immediately. We were told to grab a table and menus were brought to the table. We were also told to check out the chalkboard menu on the wall, which was their gringo menu that was not on the printed menu. I knew I should probably order some tacos, but I was craving flautas so I went with those. When I went to the register, I ordered chicken enchiladas, chicken flautas, a kids meal with the chicken taco, and a blood orange margarita. I was given a picture card to take the table. The blood orange margarita was so tasty, and surprisingly strong. It turned out I ordered it during happy hour so it was $5. The chicken enchiladas were served in an order of 3 and included rice and beans. I didn’t get to try them because my boyfriend inhaled them, but I guess that means they’re good, right? The kids meal was the perfect size for my little one. One street taco with rice and beans and a drink. The chicken looked juicy and flavorful. The flautas are served as an order of 2, but cut into thirds for an order of 6. I thought it wasn’t going to be enough food but they were quite filling. I went with chicken, but they offer beef and potato ones as well. The food was amazing and the service was outstanding and welcoming. I enjoyed the food and hospitality so much I went back a second time. For my second visit, my aunt and I ordered beef and chicken flautas. We asked for them to be plain with all of the toppings on the side so that we could dip to our heart’s content. We also ordered the kids cheese quesadilla meal. I’m definitely a fan of Pinches Tacos and plan on returning to try other items on the menu. Maybe if I’m not satisfying a flauta craving, I’ll actually get to try the tacos. If you’re looking for great tasting food and service, give them a try.

Wiseguy Lounge – Menu with Prices – 545 Massachusetts Ave, Indianapolis

I have this posted on Goodfellas too. Didn’t realize there was a specific name, but it goes the theme so well. Anyway, this is the same review essentially, but here it is. The real fun didn’t start until last night when I decided to finally go back to the bar. I had a misconception that the bar would be outrageously expensive, because it looks so exclusive. I also expected to be underwhelmed. Turns out that I was massively wrong and was just elated by the end of the outing. My friend, David, was having a rough day. My friend, Basma, was looking for some pals to hang out with. I am just thinking this is the longest week in the world here in October 2018. “Wow. What a perfect opportunity to check out that bar behind Goodfellas!” I said. So, I texted them. David finally met me there, as I was slurping down a giant sausage pizza with some ranch like a ravenous monster. We chatted with a coworker of mine for a second and realized it was the time. We go back into a red room with some brown leather couches around. There were a lot of other people having a drink and chat with their buddies. ***NEWSFLASH YOU CAN TAKE YOUR PIZZA BACK THERE*** I had no clue. However, I like the idea of keeping my pizza up in the front and the drinks in the back. Doubt I’ll ever intermingle them. We take some seats at the end of the bar and start browsing through the menu. The bartender goes through some of the things with us. We finally choose some drinks under the “Guys and Dolls” section. David gets a “Marilyn Monroe” and I got the “Bette Davis.” Both drinks were super great. I honestly started feeling it mid drink. We can tell there was a lot of alcohol in these martini glasses, so we were sipping them slow and watching the Kingsman. Our other friends, Basma and Greylor, show up eventually and got something with mint in it I believe? It was called the bourbon smash or something. Those drinks were pretty delightful too. The bartender was magnificent. It really seemed like for a while he was just one of us and just wants to joke and laugh a little. He watched the Kingsman with us and explained some of our questions about the movie, while staying on top of his job. We found out that we had things in common (we’re not really big on hugs and rather be touched by your words), we had a conversation about his elbow tattoo inspired from the Raconteurs and reacted well to some of our jokes. At first, we were a little concerned that we came off like a bunch of morons by our silly banter, but he seemed fine. He was just a stand-up man. We love being charmed. It was really nice to go do something different on Mass Ave in an intimate setting. This would be a great place for a small hangout, a great date (feel free to ask me on one pehehe), hearts-to-hearts or maybe even to have a drink alone (however, it would be better with at least two people). I am sure we will be back. Also, I am literally the biggest idiot in America, because I just saw this is bar is called “Wiseguy Lounge” and I will be copy pasting this second half of the review over there too. But wow. Just wow. What a place.

Easy To Go Taco Stand – Menu with Prices – 2344 Southmost Rd, Brownsville

One star! Yea really, it was that bad. This place has gone down hill. Haven’t been there in two years. Wife wanted flautas so we called to order. She asked for them to be cooked not hard and not soft, the lady says “media’s” and we said yes. I showed up at the restaurant and no one came out I was ringing the bell several times, and nothing. Finally I had to have my wife call on the phone to let them know that I was at the front counter. Anyways flautas we’re ready, and I paid and left. I got home and what a surprise. These flautas were so Over cooked in what looked like some nasty ass oil because of the color of the flautas. They were so over cooked we couldn’t eat them. Ate two and said no, this is not even edible. The lettuce and tomatoe was swimming in room temperature water. HAVE YOU PEOPLE EVER HEARD OF A SALAD SPINNER? It is a very simple device that would solve this issue. When I called to speak to someone I told her what had happened and she tried to tell me that they were cooked “medias” I advised they were cooked to death that they were not medias. I also told her about the amount of water in the lettuce and she said it must of been the juice from the cueritos, I said no I know what cuerito juice is and I know what water is and this is water. He offered no apologies to me, didn’t offer to replace my food, didn’t offer to refund, pretty much she just didn’t give a s**t. I told her I wanted to speak with the owner. She told me she was not there but that she comes every night to close the box and collect the money. I told her we’ll have he call me I would like to speak to her. She said ok and hung up. Didn’t bother to ask my name or number. Oh and by the way I never got a phone call. So I guess the attitude of the owner and infects into the business, nonetheless I will never go back. And P.S. we threw the food away. Pics to prove I just can’t make this up.
