I’ve been a customer of Villa Villa for over 10 years at the Fontana and San Bernardino locations. Those locations are 5-stars for food quality and customer service; however this new Fullerton location is a 1-star on those same ratings areas. I was very excited to hear of this new location in Fullerton but unfortunately this new location lacks what makes the other Viva Villa locations amazing. This location has poor customer service and poor food quality. I realize it may take time for new locations to improve but it’s been over 6 months now and I don’t see any improvements in customer service or food quality. Customer service: (or lack thereof) The young female cashier is very rude and lacks any basic customer service. When you order, it takes literally 20+ minutes to get one burrito or two small orders–and that’s being the ONLY customer there. The workers work very slow like there’s no point to rush since there’s no other customers but the fact is more customers would come if they made the orders faster. No one wants to wait 20+ minutes for a burrito when you see them taking their time. Then, they often get your order wrong. I decided to finally give a 1-star rating because recently they got my order wrong 3 times in two days. They forgot my side order of rice and beans–twice–and then forgot to give me my 3 drinks which is $10 total–I didn’t discover two of the wrong orders until I returned home which was frustrating because I live 12 minutes away. That’s 24 minutes round trip to get a order fixed plus gas and more importantly time in life you can never get back. Now do that 2 times in 3 days. Annoying! Then when I brought my concerns up with the female manager she lacks any good managerial skills to resolve the issue. She refused to come out of her office to hear my complaint. They also close earlier than the stated time and send customers away before closing which the manager is okay with—I doubt the owner would be okay with losing money and customers like that. This location needs more supervision from management like the other more established sites. I would hate to see this location close due to poor management of staff but no one will come how it is operating now. I no longer plan to go there anymore and that says a lot because Viva Villa is my favorite Mexican food ever and I have brought several customers that are friends, family, or coworkers. The food quality is not up to par at the Fullerton location like the other locations either. The meat is often dry and over cooked and burnt versus the traditional marinated meat you taste at the other locations. Also, their portion control is off–bigger is not always better–Fullerton is the only Viva Viva location where they make the burritos too big with fillers like beans and rice which cause the burrito to break into pieces after the first bite. This never happens at the other locations either. Every burrito made here is too big to support the tortilla unlike all the other locations so you end up having to scoop all your burrito with a spoon because it breaks after a bite or too. Disappointing since Viva Villa is known for its amazing homemade tortillas! When I ask for easy beans or rice they still add too much and it breaks again first bite. Frustrating. Try the Fontana and San Bernardino locations–those locations are managed tremendously better which is the reason those locations have several customers and this Fullerton location is always empty. It pains me to write his bad review knowing the owner and his son Francisco but hopefully they see these reviews and help this location get better like the Fontana and San Bernardino locations.

La Estrella Tacos #1 – Menu with Prices – 320 E Orange Grove Blvd, Pasadena

La Estrella has been a pretty popular taco spot in Pasadena for quite some time and was once my favorite. Although quality of food is not the same it is till very good triumphing many other taco locations in my opinion. This location is the one I most frequent because the parking is easy in the lot or residential area. The location itself is no frills, but you can sit inside and eat. It’s more like fast food in my opinion with you ordering it and then picking it up (no one brings it to your table). I did see some complaints regarding cleanliness of the location and although I have never seen a pest it could be cleaner. I used to be a somewhat regular of La Estrella but unfortunately customer service has been poor more times then not. This last visit the young man at the register was courteous and the wait time was reasonable. In the past I have been the only customer and waited up to 30 minutes for food. Another complaint I have is how stingy they are with the salsa. First let me say, the red salsa is amazing (it makes the food in my opinion) but they gave me two only for a three person order (burrito, taco plate, and additional order of tacos). You can purchase more salsa for .50 each cup, I just think they give too little up front for the orders. These reasons have led to me coming sparingly. My favorite order is the taco plate: two tacos, rice, and beans. Their rice and beans are very good and you cannot go wrong with tacos there. Most love the asada meat but I prefer their chicken. The fish tacos were once a favorite of mine here and although they are still good I’d say you can get comparable elsewhere for similar or cheaper price. All in all I still give La Estrella 4 star rating because I still have preferance of their tacos over other taco spots.

Tacos El Pollo – Menu with Prices – 3696 E Colorado Blvd, Pasadena

I came here on a late night with my boyfriend since he wanted a burrito. He ordered a Carne Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado and a soda, which was a little over $5.00. When his number was called, they gave him a side of avocado, a side of rice and a side of beans. When I saw his bag, I went to the window and told the guy taking orders (in Spanish) that he had ordered an Asada burrito with rice, beans and avocado. He tried to argue with me that my boyfriend had only said rice, beans and avocado. The guy said that it will be extra for the burrito so I told him it was ok, so he charged plus $3 and some change. When we got the burrito and then got in the car, I told my boyfriend to grab a bite off the burrito because I had a feeling that they had NOT added the meat. And there it was… blend burrito with rice, beans and avocado and NO MEAT. So we basically paid almost $10 for a simple rice and beans burrito. Good location, bad customer service.

Gorditas Estilo Aguascalientes – Menu with Prices – 999 N Waterman Ave, San Bernardino

Decided to try this place and ordered through DoorDash. I got a burrito and quesadilla with Chile relleno. I was disappointed when I took a bit of the burrito because it only had beans, rice, and cheese. I posted a picture of what the burrito should have included. They did have an option to add on more to the burrito and maybe they got confused? Anyway. The Chile relleno quesadilla was BOMB!!! It was only $3. Highly recommend trying that out. Decided to go back in person and give them another try and I am impressed. Took my boyfriend and he got the asana burrito. It comes with everything, BOMB. I again got the quesadilla Chile relleno with beans and rice. Seriously the best place in town. This location is located inside the San Bernardino indoor swap meet.

Genghis Grill – Menu with Prices – 3211 Preston Rd, Frisco

This wasn’t a great experience for me at all. It seemed like I was in a restaurant with indifferent teenagers rather than a professional establishment. The bar manager was the person taking my order, and he didn’t really seem as though he wanted to take it lol. It took forever to even be greeted. It was a while back, so some of the details are fuzzy to me, but I can say that I’ve been to the Genghis Grill in Rockwall, and it was nothing like this. This location really lacks on service…like seriously. I’m not giving this place a 1-star simply because I’ve experienced 1-star service, and it didn’t quite get that bad. The food was “meh,” and the service was poor. There were no signs, no direction, no anything to let a customer know what to do or where to go. You really are just sort of lost. The host was in the kitchen or sitting at a table on his phone the entire time. Your actual waiter would be absent for about 5 straight minutes. Eh, I expected more based on visits to other locations. I figured that because this one was located in such an affluent area, the service would need to be reflective of the clientele. Nope…it felt like I was at a high school football game concession stand turned into a restaurant.

Tacos y tortas san bernardino – Menu with Prices – 331 9th St # 7, San Bernardino

I feel KINDA bad about rating this place two stars after coming here and NOT trying a Torta (I mean, it IS called Tortas, Las Glorias after all). Anyway, I went with a carne asada burrito instead of a torta, and wasn’t rewarded for doing so. The burrito is filled with beans, cheese, rice, meat, onion and cilantro. My impression from the first bite: did I order an all rice burrito? Second bite: Dang! This meat is SALTY! Third through tenth bite: where’s the cheese in this thing? Overall, there is way too much rice in this hefty sized burrito. There is a generous amount of meat, but it is all way too salty to enjoy. Bite after bite, I searched for the cheese, but never found it (from a flavor standpoint, I did SEE the cheese in the burrito). Couple the taste of the food with the area in which the restaurant is located (in a sketchy part of San Berdoo) and I’m saying you can get way better Mexican food in the area. I’ll still come back one day to try a Torta (cuz’ I like to be thorough), but based on my first impressions, it’ll be a while before I give that a try.

Bawarchi Biryani Point – Alpharetta Menu with Prices 2500 North Point Ct, Alpharetta

I had some food catered recently by this location in Alpharetta and both the service and food quality were very poor. I placed the order 2 days prior to the pickup and when I went to pick up the food, my order was NOT ready and the Manager told me that it wasn’t ready as I had not confirmed the order. I had actually offered a deposit for the catering, which the Manager did not want. After waiting for 30+ minutes for the order, I came home to find out that the order was not the same as what I had initially ordered and agreed to with the Manager. When I went back to the restaurant and complained, the Manager was rude and did not do anything to fix it, but infact offered to remake the same poor food and charge me again. I will NEVER ever give this restaurant any of my business going forward. C- grade at best!! Other Bawarchi locations are much better in Atlanta, so avoid this Alpharetta location.

D J Coffee Shop – Menu with Prices – 265 E 40th St, San Bernardino

I came here pretty much every week to get my breakfast. I even had this number saved on my contacts list because I frequent here so often. They have some delicious breakfast burritos and Country Fried stake and eggs. Recently, the service has been terrible here. One time I made an order through the phone and noticed my burrito had the hashbrowns out, so I let them know I wanted the hashbrowns inside the burrito. The guy who is kind of tall and middle eastern looking with short hair looked at me and asked me why I did not specify that. Normally I do not have to specify to have the hashbrowns in, they just ask me and I say yes. He acted like I was being an inconvenience and they made me wait about 5 minutes before giving me the burrito, without salsa. Again, I asked if I could have salsa. They looked at me annoyed again. Another time they forgot about my order, however the lady (I havent seen her there in a while) told me to just hang on for 5 minutes and gave me a discount on the burrito. I was happy that they considered my disappoint me, and helped me out. Today I ordered a breakfast burrito and the same middle eastern looking guy with short hair told me my order would come out soon. It had passed 25+ minutes and I had a feeling something was wrong because I know their average take out times. Workers saw me standing there waiting, but never asked me anything, so I went up to the counter again and asked a Caucasian guy with blonde short hair and medium height. He actually went to the kitchen and looked for my order which I appreciated. However he came back and looked confused and asked me if I had really made an order (seriously…) . Great. the middle eastern man made me wait 20+ minutes like a fool and passed me several times, but he could not be bothered to look and see the status of my order. Completely disregarded me. I left furious and disappointed that I was not getting my breakfast burrito and that I had stood there watching all the delicious food pass me for 20 minutes standing there like a fool. I am extremely upset because the food here is great and I always recommend this to people around the San Bernardino area. I will stay away from here due to the way they disregard a frequent customer. If their food was mediocre then I would rate this place a 1. But personally for me, I am tired of having bad service here. A place like McDonalds treats random people better. Very Disappointed.

Ponchos Tacos – Menu with Prices – 343 S State College Blvd, Fullerton

All I wanted was a wet burrito. They charged me $1.50 to make my burrito wet and when I went back home (I live 15 minutes away) the burrito was plain. The burrito was even wrapped like a wet burrito would. A plain burrito is usually just foil wrapped but it was foil wrapped on a plate so it would have been kind of bizarre to open up the foil to check if it was wet… Right as I saw this I called them just to pretty much tell them about it because they pocketed $1.50 on their already overpriced food. The guy on the phone obviously couldn’t give two and a half shits and said oh man just come in anytime and we can make it right… well I would think about coming back if I was paid to eat it, because the food was real average for Mexican food. Their “plain” burrito was alright. You can’t go wrong with beans, rice, tortilla, and passable Asada. Nothing special about this place, it’s overpriced and they’re using their positive yelp reviews to hype up their prices. I paid almost $3 for a shrimp taco and it was the size of your palm(think of the size of a third graders hand…) Their tacos are palm sized and are really overpriced for what they really are. The al pastor was below average, bland in flavor. Salsa selection was nice but the taste just wasn’t really there with any of them. The horchata could have been at least good, but it tasted like water mixed with milk. It was $4 for about 3 cups of milk and water which is ridiculously overpriced. I paid almost $16 for a burrito, al pastor taco, shrimp taco, large horchata and I would have felt ripped off either way if I got my burrito wet or not… There are a lot better Mexican places in Fullerton/Placentia, this place is at the BOTTOM of my list now because I’ve almost never had my order wrong from any Mexican place so this place missed with the service and food. Wouldn’t I be an absolute fool to go back? I’ve worked in food before and I know mistakes are made but this was a pretty bad mistake… It just sucks knowing you spent your hard earned money on mediocre food and served mediocrely. Don’t come here if you’re looking for that new Mexican place in town, this place definitely ain’t it! -Food: 2/5 -Service: 1/5 -Overall: 1/5

Viva Burrito – Menu with Prices – 6320 E Golf Links Rd Suite 100, Tucson

Now I understand the poor reviews. These people are idiots. Not 1 but 2 different posted menus show a Bean Burrito at $3.99. I ordered at the window and she says “Bean and Cheese burrito?” Twice, I had to say No, just the bean burrito on your menu. When I get it, I notice they charged me $4.59 for the burrito. I take it to them, they say a few different things: 1 – “The burrito without cheese costs more than the burrito with cheese.” Fine, nowhere does your menu even offer a Burrito with Cheese. And who charges more for less?? You can charge the same – but not more. 2. “We had a price change, and the Burrito without Cheese is $4.29.” See above, and…..price changes should not be a surprise you pull on a customer AFTER they order. AND – that doesn’t explain the $4.59 charge. Not going back.

Seasons of Japan – Menu with Prices – 1800 E Victory Dr, Savannah

HORRIBLE!! I went in yesterday and ordered a Salmon Sushi Burrito (my usual order at the other locations). When I ordered it, the girl at the computer looked over at her coworker and said “you got a sushi burrito” and started laughing, which was a red flag immediately. I sat down and waited for about 30 minutes before I became impatient and walked up to ask if it was going to be ready soon. Don’t get me wrong, I know it takes some time to make the burrito, especially if the place is busy, but it’s never taken this long, and the restaurant had maybe 3 other families in it. The entire staff just stood on their phones and acted like they had nothing better to do. When I finally got the order that I had originally said was for eating inside, it came in a to go bag. I was so angry that I just left with it. Once I got to my car, I noticed that it was WRONG. I was so done with this place that I just went home and ate it anyway. Tasted mediocre, probably because whoever made it didn’t know how to make it and just threw it together, and there was little-to-no salmon. I much prefer the one by T.J.Maxx, they actually prepare your food correctly and in a timely manor. Never going back, I suggest you do the same.

Captain JJ Fish & Chicken – Menu with Prices – 2974 Covington Pike, Memphis

Me and my girlfriend will never patronize this location again. The drive thru worker was rude our order was wrong. The drive thru worker didn’t know what he was doing. We use to to come here. As this location is near our house. We will be going to Tims Chicken a few blocks down instead. They have lost a faithful customer. We will just go to the Summer location instead. When it comes to Captain JJ’s as a whole & other restaurants with multiple locations around the city. I do not let this One Bad Apple destroy the other locations who have their stores clean & organized. Goodbye Captain JJ’s Covington Pike. See ya on Sunmer.

Howard’s Donuts – Menu with Prices – 2666 Foothill Blvd, San Bernardino

Great donuts and sandwich shop. Been coming here for years, but decided to do a review on here. Their food is excellent. I always orders the philly cheesesteak, and their pastrami sandwich, but lately I’ve seen that they got a new menu too. I was there early one day and I noticed that people started to order their breakfast burrito, I figured that all their food are good and I was in the mood to try something new. So I opted to order the breakfast burrito, which come with harsh brown, eggs, cheese, and the choice of meats, including bacon, sausage, or ham. I chose to order the one with bacon and sausages. I’ll tell you that it really hit the spot!! It was big enough to satisfied my breakfast craving. Sure this place is not located in the best part of town, but than again this is San Bernardino, and the food and the service there was worth going in and they have many loyal customers just like myself.
