Odd location. On corner of 2 strip malls adjacent to one another. Only signage is as you pull in the back way between the 2 malls. No signage visible from parking areas. If i didnt know it was here, I’d never see it passing thru. Staff, was cordial. Not alot to coose from, all your basics, but not alot else. No frills abc store…then again, it is just an abc store.

Maryvale Market & Deli – Menu with Prices – 5510 W Camelback Rd, Glendale

It’s been probably 2 decades since I last stopped in for a sandwich here. It hasn’t changed much. It is a small convenience store in a strip mall that has a deli in the corner. It was already a neighborhood institution when I moved here in 93. The meats are Boars Head. Both the woman making my sandwich and the man who took my money were pleasant. Not as many frills and options as the chain sandwich places but it was a little cheaper and just as good.

L D’s Corner Bar – Menu with Prices – 344 E Jackson Ave, Des Moines

If you’re a fan of dive bars, you’ll enjoy yourself here. Your basic no-frills corner bar. Cheap drinks, pool table, juke box (the new touch screen computer type). If your cell phone’s dead, they even have a power strip on the wall for your convenience. Nice touch! Sometimes busy, but never packed. Perfect spot to gather with friends without the crowd.

Fine Wine & Good Spirts – Menu with Prices – 7200 Peach St, Erie

This is a local chain of obviously wine and spirit stores located back in a strip center by the Sams Club and Giant Eagle. As a transplant to PA having to go to a separate store to buy wine, beer and liquor is a new concept. This particular store is small and they carry the basics to cover your personal wine and liquor needs. The staff is interesting, I’ll just leave it at that. The reason I am giving it two stars is because they lack a certain price point of French wine. No, I’m not a baller (do people even use that word anymore) but I did need a gift and they had no French varieties over $20.00. You can’t really be giving Yellowtail for a gift (I have nothing against Yellowtail). In all fairness, they do have some nicer wines, I did see Rombauer Chardonnay on the shelves which is fantastic wine and not inexpensive. The two stars rating also takes into consideration the interesting staff.

Fine Wine & Good Spirits – Menu with Prices – 1761A Columbia Ave, Lancaster

First time purchase for an old person but I had excellent assistance from the staff… Small store at the location I went to so some brands or low sale or unique products were not there. The staff checked at other locations to assist me. I was educated on what one should have for basics in a home party bar. I was clueless. I appreciate the help and I was able to get quality beverages but with reasonable cost based on their experience.

John’s valu-mart – Menu with Prices – 179 Wortley Rd, London

Don’t let the name of this place fool you at all, it is anything but ‘valu’ here. Their prices are incredibly high, and I’m pretty sure the only way they make money is by fleecing the seniors or handicapped people that live in the area, who perhaps can’t make the extra few blocks trip over to the No Frills in the nearby plaza at Wharncliffe & Commissioners Road. There’s nothing else to say, other than they are a typical Loblaw store as others have said. If you just need something quickly like milk, eggs and bread, then sure, come here as they are pretty much the same price all over, but for anything else, go to No Frills.

Insomnia Cookies Menu with Prices 228 E Clayton St, Athens

The delivery service is A JOKE. My roommate’s mom called in an order at 10am to be delivered at 3:30pm to our dorm a mile away on East Campus. 3:30 comes and goes, then 4:00, and no sign of the driver. My roommate gets a call from her mom saying that she called the store and the store said they only had 1 driver who left around 2:30 and didn’t take our order, and that the driver could be there in the next 30 minutes to 1 hour. That would mean the cookies would be getting to us at 4:30 at the latest: none of us had time to sit on our butts all afternoon waiting for a box of 8 cookies. On the phone, the employee also said they could pull the order and have it ready for us to come and pick up. We headed downtown and got to the store around 4:30, passing by a delivery car parked outside of the store and another one at a red light. Infuriating. Once in the store, the girl working knew nothing about our order and had to put it together on the spot. The only silver lining to this is that she said we could call customer service and get a refund for the delivery fee. We’ll probably get a refund on the tip too, especially since it was payed for 5 HOURS IN ADVANCE when the order was placed. Poor time management, disorganization, and horrible service. Be ready to watch the grass grow if you opt to have your cookies delivered.

Gilbert’s Deli Menu with Prices Kwik Food Store, 1921 N. Federal Highway @B, Boca Raton

Small but nice. Gilbert is actually a really nice person . Wish there were more options for dining in . Food was great . Simple and straight up. Nice. I wish that more people knew about this place because its a little hole in the wall place and can be a little hard to find. I believe with some signage and posters it will then be alot easier to find. Props to gilbert. Thank you

Virginia ABC – Menu with Prices – 405 30th St, Virginia Beach

Lots to choose from, but you are sure to find something. I believe this store is the only one located near the oceanfront area. Of course you have several 7-eleven’s, CVS, Walgreens… but an ABC store… yeah come here! The staff is super pleasant here and are always willing to suggest something tasty. I walked in knowing what I wanted, but quickly decided to put back a $12 bottle of vodka and opted for miniatures that equaled the same price for that one bottle. I was able to choose from a variety of liquors and purchase a pack of four sex on the beach shots for my friend. Sharing is caring ? The parking lot is super small, but usually those that shop here already know what they want. You mainly see people pull up and within five minutes they are out. This store is located on a corner, but it may be hard to spot if you are not familiar with the area. But ask around, I am sure the locals can point you in the right direction. Harris Teeter and Farm Fresh are nearby. Several shops and eateries are nearby as well. This location is about 10 minutes away (by foot) from the oceanfront. So it’s definitely worth the walk if you are staying on the oceanfront. Have fun and enjoy life ?

Sugar Rush Donut Company – Menu with Prices – 4701 Airport Blvd #250, Mobile

Sugar Rush clever name for exactly what happens after eating anything from this great donut shop. Nice selection of donuts but I’m picky when trying a new shop, donut shop. So, I stuck to the basics, well my basics, the glaze and the apple fritter. The glaze donut was great and guess what, it came with conecuh sausage, well you do have a pay a little more. The verdict: it was good. The glazed donut was delicious, light, non greasy with minimal glaze. The sausage great! Well, you can go wrong with the conecuh, unless you put it in a doughnut with the casing. It was hard to enjoy it as a sandwich because the donut wasn’t firm enough and the casing on the sausage was tough. I really liked the doughnut though alot. The apple fritter was very good. I am definitely picky about my fritters. It’s the thing I try at any donut shop. This one is certainly in the top 3 of local fritters. Besides being good, it was crispy, delicious and huge! So huge it should definitely be shared. Don’t take on this alone, get some a friends on board. Overall, I liked it. When I want a sugar rush, I’m rushing to Sugar Rush. Another great local find!

Reflections Cabaret – Menu with Prices – 5187 Salter St, Halifax

Well, I went back , this time to their new location. Much cleaner, doesn’t stink, staff is super friendly and the size of the place is smaller, which is probably better. It was alot of fun, the music was good and we danced the night away. It was also alot of fun watching the tall guy in the suit accompanied by a guy dressed like he was going to play basketball come in , head to the washroom and almost pick a fight with the young skinny guy with the red baseball cap because he looked at him wrong. Then, later on, two bikers wearing “Gate Keeper” jackets (affiliated with the Hell’s Angels) came in (bikers love gay bars for some reason! ) and the skinny guy with the red cap greeted them warmly. Then, the tall guy in the suit with his buddy in sports clothing came back in. I don’t think that they are buddies with the Gate Keepers. Alot of fun to watch. (I wonder what’s going on??? ? ) Overall , a great night, much better than the last time I went to the old Reflections.
