This is a relaxing and unassuming wine bar. James and Tim are friendly without making you feel obligated to purchase the most expensive wine for sale. Friday and Saturday, a full meal is offered. The menu for dinner changes each weekend and is posted on their Facebook page and website. Saturday usually includes live music from local artists. There is a small menu of tapas available Tuesday-Saturday (cheese plate, bruschetta, hummus, etc.). I used to frequent a different wine bar in Meridian but I like the atmosphere here better. Also, during the winter, there is a roaring fire in the fireplace! Perfect for those cold nights with a glass of vino!

Bar Brunello – Menu with Prices – 117 E Main St, Durham

This place is an image of the extreme and does really well in some areas and really poorly in others. The wine selection is outstanding with a global coverage and from a number of years back. The results are you’ll easily pay $18 for a glass of wine but it’ll be damn good. The “tapas” part on the other hand is just tacked on: we were served cold olives right out of the fridge but Tapas originates in Spain and olives are definitely not served cold. It was on a single white round dinner plate with 0 thought to presentation. The prosciutto was also served cold, looked as is if were flipped right out of the Harris Teeter packaging and the burrata was not that great either. It’s got the long,narrow bar effect going for it, but then the walls are bare white. It has a small, cute bar space for a date night but then the bartender wears a raggedy, oversized v-neck t-shirt to really show they care about the atmosphere. Long story short: go here for DAMN GOOD WINE but keep your eyes closed the whole time and don’t come hungry.

House of Wine – Menu with Prices – 53 Monroe Center St NW, Grand Rapids

Met a friend here for happy hour and had a great experience. House wines are $4/glass during happy hour. We’re pretty experienced wine drinkers, and the ones we tried were very good. I was also intrigued to see that you could try 1 oz samples of a large variety of wines, including several very expensive ones. This is the only place I know of in GR that lets you do that, and it definitely moved this place to the top of my list of spots to recommend to fellow wine-drinkers. We also had the hummus plate and the bruschetta. Both were delicious, and large enough portions for two to share easily. I esp loved that they provided plenty of veggies with the hummus, since my pet peeve is when you get a huge bowl of hummus and only a few veggies. Surprisingly, we were the only customers during happy hour. Since we were there to catch up after not seeing each other for several months, this was ideal. We were able to talk and actually hear each other, which is definitely not the case at a lot of the newer GR restaurants. I liked the variety of seating (we were in a couple of armchairs) and the laidback atmosphere. There’s also a patio and a retail store. This is my new favorite spot for a meet-up downtown.

unWined & Tap – Menu with Prices – 3901 Mary Eliza Trace NW #120, Marietta

Came here for a quick last minute birthday dinner for my mom. We had reservations that didn’t work out at another place. Not going to lie, I’m glad they didn’t because I love unWine’d & Tap! Came last minute since it was close and open until 10pm. We showed up probably at 9:15 and our server was awesome. We were able to get our food and wine and everything before the kitchen closed. No one made us feel rushed or anything. Which is great, because sometimes servers act that way when they’re about to close. Everything we had delicious! Mom was the only one who had been before, but now all of us love this place too. We had a little bit of everything: naan bruschetta, tomato basil bruschetta, soup of the day (which was a great tomato soup!), the international cheese board, handcut fries, bbq short rib, pork belly lettuce bites, the bacon flight, and the lobster Mac and cheese. As I said everything was delicious, especially the Mac and cheese and pork belly. Will be returning again when my friend comes in town. It’s the perfect place to have wine and tapas.

Cellar + Plate a communal wine house – Menu with Prices – 2916 S Lone Pine Ave, Springfield

Traditional tapas bars keep late hours. But this is the northern foothills of the Ozarks. Springfield, MO. Not traditional. There are 15 customers and the bar is mostly full. These are good signs! One hour until closing. Saturday night. Should still be in the AOK Zone, no? Sadly, no. Barkeep welcomes us, hands us menus (first mistake.) Peruse wine list…check!  Place wine order…check! Scrutinize tapas menu…check! Barkeep returns saying “Sorry, but we’re out of that wine.” The wine list is short, so fall back to alternate selection…check. Barkeep notices us discussing tapas options…”Oh, the kitchen is closed.” Second mistake. I should’ve faked being hit by the pitch and taken a walk, but the coach already had her wine. The base coach’s signal to the next batter is: “Take the walk back to your car.” Why hand customers menus if you know your kitchen is closed? The answer is: never. Kitchen closure requires 1) menus be put away and 2) customers be immediately informed prior to placing any order. But, on Saturday night? A full hour before closing? Really? Would’ve liked to try the food. Cheese was at the bar, so a small order was possible. The wine list was small, so you hope they’ve narrowed selection to some interesting, if not fun, choices. It’s another pitch low and outside. Our pours weren’t bad, but neither my glass nor my date’s flight was worth the effort of staying. Your mileage will likely vary depending upon how much go juice the staff choose to put into their tanks. For my visit, they were few in number and apparently running on empty. Been there, but you make sales by stepping up. And with a closed kitchen, well…there was no plate to step up to (it was somewhere in the cellar.)

Cork & Company – Menu with Prices – 244 Granby St a, Norfolk

Throughly enjoy our spontaneous date night to this quaint martini wine bar. I had no idea this place existed until my husband took me there. He has been stalking this place on IG for some time. He knows how much I enjoy wine, and he loves martinis, so win win for both. We walked in and the restaurant was quiet with only 2 parties seated. It is a very small intimate place. I feel you could dress up or down and be comfy and invited either way. The barkeep was knowledgeable and very easy to talk to. At the table: Pear Martini Port Wine Asparagus bruschetta Goat cheese prosciutto Truffle oil Blackened salmon over Alfredo Mascarpone and pear torte I can quickly some up this review by saying ahhmazing, delicious! However that would do it any justice. The pear martini was a large martini glass with a pear floating. The port wine was recommended by the bartender and it was a win. Asparagus bruschetta Goat cheese prosciutto Truffle oil, was a piece of art! It was so perfectly plated. Goat cheese was perfectly spread and not too cold. The prosciutto was perfectly sliced and complimented the asparagus and well. As for the blackened salmon, wow!! I’ve never seen a piece of salmon served that big in a restaurant before. The seasoning was done very well. The salmon almost melted in your mouth like butter. This was a big “little plate”. There was so much food here, everything was well represented too. Lastly the mascarpone dessert was served with ice cream, it was so delicious. My husband and I shared every dish that came to the table. We left feeling so fulfilled. Vintage Vino – Menu with Prices – 14 E Dakin Ave, Kissimmee

My favorite place to go for a flight of wine. John waited on us and was friendly, kind, and generous. I wanted to find a place with a great price for a flight of Wines and happy hour for my friends in downtown Kissimmee, FL and I found Vintage Vino online. I loved the service and two of the Wines. The Riesling and Peach Moscato wine were delightfully sweet, addictive, and yummy. My friends and I loved the Ambience. I adored the giant wine glasses and the fact he placed the bottle of wine by each glass. We each had three wine glasses of wine for each flight. The wine was ample too. $12 a flight unless it had more expensive Wines. Happy hour had $4 select Wines and beers. Dinner from nearby restaurants are served here – so convenient. The bathroom area required a punch in number password for Vintage Vino. Service was not the quickest but we managed to get our refills and food soon enough. The furniture and seating was very comfortable and inviting. I was very happy to come, relax, and chat here with friends! I will definitely come here again and again. My go see wine place in Kissimmee, FL!

It’ll Do Saloon is an Excellent Friendly Neighborhood Bar with Live Music Thursday thru Saturday nights. Open Jam on Thursday nights is hosted by Cody Gonzalez of the Rockoholics Band. Live Music/Bands on Friday & Saturday nights. Been going there off & on for 4 years since 2014. I’m pretty much a regular patron there now days, I love good Live Music. Vino Nostra – Menu with Prices – 123 E Commonwealth Ave, Fullerton

First time here and I can see why this place has such raving reviews. Sat at the bar and was warmly greeted by Dena, the owner of Vino Nostra. Love the ambiance and atmosphere of this little wine bar; just overall a really good vibe. Everyone is super friendly here and really felt like such a happy bunch. Seems like lots of regulars here which is always a great sign. I don’t know much about wines; so wherever I go, I always go for flights. We also got a glass of Rosè (since you know, all the cool kids are drinking it), along with a charcuterie plate. Everything was delicious, Dena and the rest of the staff made sure to always check up on us. Overall, it was a lovely evening (earthquake and all). Definitely will become one of the regulars here. Place fills up fast; so get here early!

Klassy Glass Wine Bar – Menu with Prices – 723 Austin Ave #1, Waco

We stopped in Klassy Glass for a quick glass of wine before going to dinner. Lilu greeted us warmly and immediately we felt at home. She offered recommendations and we enjoyed our choices. Husband had Malbec and I had Malbec Rose. We were so comfortable we decided to have a light dinner there and would go back in a heartbeat! Wish we could stay later in the week for the music. Lilu displays artwork from local artists which adds to the ambience and conversation. Unfortunately we had only 1 evening in Waco but will definitely return next time we’re passing through. Lilu’s ability to serve customers and converse with all is impressive. Great customer service is important to us and Lilu knocked it out if the ball park. Thank you Lilu. Embassy Suites by Hilton McAllen Convention Center – Menu with Prices – 800 Convention, C St, McAllen

This is the second time we come to this restaurant. It was recommended by one of my co-workers specifically because there is a group that plays salsa, bachata, cha cha cha, and merengue music on Friday nights. Though many restaurants and bars play that kind of music here in the valley, this one starts the live music at 7:00 pm. For us who have things to do early Saturday morning, this is great because we can come and enjoy live music and dancing Early and be home by 10:30 if we wanted to. Though the music does keep going well past 10:30, at early sleepers can call it a night after enjoying a good 3 hours of dancing and dining. The only plate I’ve had so far is the Alfredo pasta with chicken. Though it is good, it had a lot of oil. I drained the oil out, though, and enjoyed the rest of the pasta. I shall update this review after we have a second plate.

Sopra Antipasto and Wine bar – Menu with Prices – 4 S 28th St, Colorado Springs

Sopra was a hidden gem with minimal reviews and absolutely delicious authentic Italian options. They’re a tapas and wine type bar with a twist of Italy! We tried to eat everything on the menu but that is absolutely impossible. My favorites include the meatballs (so light and delicious), the bruschetta (we had both the margarita & the beef) both of which we absolutely delicious, topped full of toppings and perfectly crisp and cheesy. The pancetta & buratta cheese was soooo delicious. The table agreed that it topped everything! The lobster pasta was the least favorite of what we ordered, but it was still packed full of lobster and delicious. Just to show you how amazing everything was! The service was great! We went on a Tuesday night and the place had empty tables. I’m surprised this place isn’t packed every single night of the week! They have a private parking lot which is convenient and they’re in a nice little town section of Colorado Springs! When I come back to Colorado springs I hope this place is still popping!

Wilhelm Family Vineyards – Ventana – Menu with Prices – 5425 N Kolb Rd #119, Tucson

We wanted to love this place. It has such a great story with the first female wine maker in Arizona, who is knowlegable, fun and charismatic, if not a bit too talkative, a lovely atmosphere here, and an a beautiful winery in Elgin. Sadly, after two visits, we just had to say we won’t be back. Despite a nice white, whose name I can’t remember, all the reds in the flights we tried were just … not good. We left most of them barely touched. None of our party enjoyed them. The owner and the manager, who were both very nice, offered a port for dessert, which I have to admit was actually well rounded and lovely. The tapas selections were quite nice, so I can recommend those.. . I understand Wilhelm has done well with some of their wines at competitions, but I feel that I am missing something because I just didn’t care for them. Obviously other people do. We tend to prefer red wine, so since none of us enjoyed their reds, we won’t be back, which is a shame since we wanted to support or local wineries.. . A 4 for the white, 3 1/2 for the port, 1-2 for the reds, 4 for the tapas and 5 for the ambiance.
