Ok, just finished the most delicious Hatch Green Chili breakfast ever!!! I ordered the Urban Skillet with scalloped potatoes. WOW!!! That first bite is always the test for me, and this past with flying colors!!! The scrambled eggs were the absolute fluffiest I’ve ever had!! Most typical scrambled eggs are dense, but not these!!! The ham and sausage used are amazing together, and that Hatch Green Chili Sauce is a taste sensation!!! The scalloped potatoes are creamy, flavorful and just perfect!! Hubby ordered the Enchiladas &Eggs and let me floor you with that!!! It is served as flat, not rolled, which is impressive, then his over-easy eggs and covered with that spectacular Hatch Green Chili Sauce!!! He was in heaven with the first bite!!! This is truly a unique eatery, with not typical Mexican food fare, which is SOOOOOOO needed, especially in this area!!! Thank you to the Borrego’s for creating a relaxing, inviting, gorgeous place with a creative Mannnnnn, we just could NOT stay away!!! Today I ordered the breakfast special of Hatch Green Chili and Pork with eggs, black beans and their home fried. Man oh man was that a taste sensation!!! And those black beans – I’m not a fan of them but these were outstanding with their seasonings and flavor!! Hubby got the hamburger with eggs and Hatch Green Chili’s what a awesome breakfast!!! The hamburger is a coarser grind which is more steak like, which was so flavorful!!! And Bailey, our server, is just the sweetest, most adorable gal ever!!! Kudos to management for her hire!!

Danny Boy’s Deli – Menu with Prices – 664 E St, Chula Vista

Well done Senoras y Senoritas who made my breakfast the day I visited. I had the huevos a Mexicana with ham and Serrano peppers with a side of red chilaquilas and refried beans, not to mention some warm corn tortillas. The meal was only about $8. I have to say, everything on my plate, including the salsas and hot sauces were delicious. The eggs were well scrambled and seasoned. The scramble came with a very good amount of savory ham, chopped onions, peppers, and tomatoes. The red chilaquiles were fantastic! I would of ordered a plate full of them with a couple of fried eggs on top if I knew they were so good. The tortillas were crisp and infused with a terrific slightly but flavorful robust red sauce. The Cotija cheese, cream, and pickled red onions that sat on top of them were great. Great eats indeed. The refried beans were very well made, creamy, and seasoned just right. I used the warm corn tortillas to not only eat the beans with, but to make breakfast tacos with the scramble. The ladies who work here are all very nice and cook some mighty tasty Mexican eats.

Sunshine Café – Menu with Prices – 111 Veterans Memorial Blvd, Metairie

I got a hamburger and hubby got the chicken fried steak, cheese grits, biscuits, gravy and 2 egs over easy. Everything was delicious. It’s great for breakfast food and good for lunch. My hamburger came with French fries.

The Crowned Egg – Menu with Prices – 911 S Lindsay Rd B 106, Gilbert

Lovely. Yelp reviews are on target. We had the green chili pork skillet and it was loaded with succulent shredded pork. A few chunky red potatoes that my husband said “were excellent!” Not too spicy at all – really – so go for it! (But then again ASK because Hatch chilies can vary!) Okay…the Eggs Benedict Florentine with bacon added was spot on. Poached eggs, fresh spinach, and the lovely hollandaise had a TINY HINT of something….just an itty bitty kick. Bacon was thick and crunchy. Now about their hash browns – get a double order if you love crispy hash browns (ask for them crispy). They are THE BEST IVE HAD. Not dripping in oil or butter. Flavorful and absolutely SPOT ON. Nice service. Family owned. Nice. We got here on a Saturday around 12:15 and it wasn’t busy. Can’t understand that – it’s worth a ten to twenty Mike drive. Yasss!

Scratch Biscuit Company – Menu with Prices – 1820 Memorial Ave SW, Roanoke

The biscuits are excellent, light and crumbly with a black pepper bite. The fried green tomatoes were one of the best topping I have had anywhere. The eggs and cheese selection were so disappointing, the eggs were tasteless and can only be cooked into this folded over layer that resembles rubber. In that regard, McDonaldâ??s â??round eggâ? substitute in the biscuit sandwich is a more flavorful and textured ingredient. The American cheese that comes automatically with the egg and cheese sandwich is too salty and made the sandwich inedible. Only on Sundays can you order eggs fried or poached. All in all, if I was to go back, I would do it on a Sunday and order my sandwich with an over medium egg, fried green tomato and pepper jack cheese.

Restaurante Honduras La Pasadita – Menu with Prices – 201 S Belt Line Rd #101, Irving

We’re from Chicago, IL…I was in TX last week visiting my brother. My husband being from Honduras searched on Yelp for Honduran food. We found this small joint and decided to check it out. When we arrived, there was only 1 car in the parking lot so I thought the food mustn’t be so great I was so very wrong! As an appetizer they serve fried beans with tortilla chips. We finished it in 60 seconds and they brought us more. I ordered the juicy and perfectly cooked carne asada (steak) with fried plantains and it comes with fried beans, rice, salad, and a slice of cheese. To drink I ordered an horchata (rice milk) that was so tasty and refreshing . My husband ordered the same dish as me but ordered the fried green bananas instead (delicious!) with a banana soda. My son ordered a baleada which is the typical street food in Honduras. It’s a HUGE folded flour tortilla with fried beans, cheese, and Honduran sour cream. You can also add scrambled eggs, avocado, or meat as well. He added scrambled eggs and loved it! you can ask for the sour cream on the side so you can taste it because it has a different flavor than regular sour cream. My brother ordered the friend plantains with ground beef and cabbage on top, squeeze lime juice on it and WOW! (Mouth watering). My sister in law ordered the 3 chicken flautas dinner, those fried tacos were huge and this was their first time trying out Honduran food and they were very impressed with the flavors. The prices are reasonable. The server was very nice and friendly we told her to thank the cook (Erica) for such a delicious dinner. We’ve visited a couple of Honduran restaurants in Chicago but none have even come close to this one. We had to go back on our last day in TX It was really that good! Oh and by the way, the restaurant filled up pretty quickly on both days we were there. My brother said he will definitely be going back for more. Lucky guy!

The Rooster’s Call – Menu with Prices – 6050 Gull Rd, Kalamazoo

Normally I make my breakfast at home or have a cereal bar. But today some friends wanted us to go out for breakfast. They’ve drive this location many times and wanted to try. So I got to go with them and try it out. As you can tell by the pictures it’s really cute inside. You’re given menus quickly as well. Drink orders are taken first and then you have plenty of time to look at the menu. They serve both breakfast and lunch, so just in case you’re feeling a waffle, or burger. We got a bunch of stuff just to try everything out. Eggs, bacon, and potatoes! I had to be extra since I was really hungry. I got a chocolate banana French toast, egg and bacon on the side, and a club wrap with fries. The French toast was ok, it felt like the chocolate was more bitter like dark chocolate, but it looked milky. The banana saved it though and gave it an even sweetness. As for the club that I also had. I really felt like it was lacking something and I feel like that something was cheese. I’m not really sure if it had cheese on it or it doesn’t come with it. But it certainly needs a cheese to balance out all the meat. Still very good though, best wrap I’ve had in a while! I really wish I got sunny-side up eggs. I got scrambled eggs and no matter where, my scrambled eggs taste like they came from a box. Heartbreaking. But the bacon, is just so bacon, and I LOVE bacon!

Georgia Street Taphouse Menu with Prices 2001 Georgia St S, Amarillo

Big disappointment! We both wound up sick all afternoon- nausea, diarrhea, and pounding headaches. Looked forward to a nice lunch date with hubby. Hostess quickly sat us away from a loud group but we had to wait awhile for a server. Asked for wine list but they had none, house wine tasted like something out of a box; hubby had chicken breast with black beans – beans were watery unflavored mush and chicken breast had way too much salt. I ordered a chopped steak dinner and received a plate with 3 (frozen?) hamburger patties on it! $12.99 for 3 preformed patties saturated in tasteless brown gravy piled on top bland mashed potatoes and $14.99 for inedible chicken! At least hubby’s came with a side salad – cost me $5.99 to add a small side salad. The problem with Taphouse is that they go for an upper scale restaurant look, they price dinners and wines comparable to Longhorns or Outback, only to greatly disappoint first time patrons by serving warm TV dinner food that left us sick.

Sahuaro’s Taco Shop – Menu with Prices – 2828 S Country Club Dr, Mesa

Lived here 25 years. This is, without question, the best fish taco I’ve found so far. You have to be patient for all the food (meaning 10 minutes) as it’s all made fresh, slowly and lovingly. I’ve only had the fish and al pastor tacos, but I can say that more ingredients do not a better taco make! The fish tacos are crispy, fresh, tender inside, juicy, the most flavorful I’ve ever had, with freshly cut cabbage and a light sauce. Their green sauce is an excellent compliment (as is Tapatillo – the only bottled sauce they carry, which itself attests to their gustatory excellence). My friends had Mexican scrambled eggs and huevos rancheros – the huevos were also the best I’ve ever had, excellent eggs, and their potatoes could be a meal in themselves. Outstanding fresh maiz tortillas, and, truly, if they didn’t close so early, I’d eat dinner there all of the time. The condiments bar is clean, as is the entire restaurant. Also, you can get your car washed while you eat, or a haircut, keys made, all in the same locale, Lastly – sorry if I offend any women, but I’m a guy, and I love women – you can eat while you watch the lovely women in bikinis taking orders 50 feet away at Bikini Beans Coffee!! ?

Chappy’s Safari Lounge – Menu with Prices – 229 16th Ave SW, Cedar Rapids

Now serving breakfast Saturdays and Sundays. First of all, remember that this is a bar. So it’s dark inside and if you are coming here for a post-drinking binge you will feel at home. So I ordered an breakfast that came with eggs. Scrambled is how I like them. These were more like the bad dehydrated egg chunks that you would associate with a prison scene in the movies. Flavorless, weird texture and in a congealed glob. The reason I’m giving two stars? The toast was amazing. Had the whole breakfast been on par with the toast it would have been a five. I had the multi-grain and it was thick and tasty. If you’re using that good of bread, break some real eggs while you’re at it.

Egg N’ Joe (SanTan Village) – Menu with Prices – 3131 S Market St #101, Gilbert

People sure do love their breakfasts! We were on the way to the airport, and since we had plenty of time. We decided to stop for a quick bite, instead of potentially suffering through the drudgery of airport food. We surmised that since we were all the way in the suburbs, the lines couldn’t possibly be that long – right? Boy, were we wrong! It was a 30-minute wait, which wound up being approximately 40 minutes by the time we were seated. Nonetheless, it was worth the wait. Nick, our server was prompt and efficient. I love efficiency. I’m not one for chitchat when I’ve been waiting for food for quite some time. And he picked up on that very quickly, with a smile. I wanted to try one of their specialties, which was the German Pancake. I ordered it as a combo. I chose scrambled eggs, Honey Bacon, and a pair of sausages. My wife ordered the traditional pancake combo, with scrambled eggs and Honey Bacon. The German Pancake (aka Dutch Baby Pancake) is basically a crepe, sprinkled with powdered sugar. Lemons are added to add some zest to the taste. It was quite delicious. And there was so much of it that I just could not muster the appetite to finish it all. My wife and I agreed that the scrambled eggs were just okay. The same could be said for their sausages. However, their Honey Bacon was quite thick and crispy. We both wished that we had ordered more of it, and just skipped the eggs and my sausages. My wife’s pancakes were quite fluffy and had wonderfully crispy edges to them. I can see now why the locals flocked to this establishment. They have a great combination of great breakfast foods (for the most part), and wonderful service. Nick really did a good job of checking in with us, despite the throngs of people continually piling in during that morning. Although, we don’t live near the area. We would stop by again, should we wander along this merry path!

Ramen Yamadaya – Menu with Prices – 1728 Buchanan St Floor 2, San Francisco

Overall 4 stars: Spicy ramen: 0 stars. tasted terrible, worst ramen I’ve ever had. Ordered a med spicy, was ridiculously spicy, with no flavor aside from spicy oil (tasted like water w spicy oil in it). Hubby had to mix in soy sauce, rice vinegar on the table to make it palatable. Tip: order it with less spice than you’d like. Spicy miso might have more flavor…the waitress said lots of people get extra soup to add in bc it’s too spicy. Yamadaya ramen: 4 stars. The bamboo, chasu (pretty fatty but most chasu is), eggs (loveee ramen eggs w the gooey inside), noodles were all delish. Soup was a bit too salty and fatty (had lots of oil and fatty pieces inside) for me but pretty good overall. Service: overall 4 stars but initially 0 stars bc the waiter didn’t listen at all when we said hubby was allergic to onions and we didn’t want onions, green onions or chives, but the miso soup our chicken katsu curry came w had a ton of green onion. So we asked again and a waitress double checked and we learned the curry has onion in the sauce. So we changed it to the ramen. They were also nice about the spicy ramen when we complained about its terrible taste and helped us out. Overall, 4 stars, mainly bc of the waitresses. Not sure I’d return bc hubby had such a terrible experience w the spicy ramen.

Rancho De Mendoza Market – Menu with Prices – 4740 E Chapman Ave, Orange

The boyfriend and I went for a walk this morning, by the end of the walk we we’re talking breakfast. We were feeling like breakfast burritos. As we were walking by we noticed their menu on the window. Being the foodie that I am, I had to stop and take a look. I read- BREAKFAST BURRITOS. Score! We ordered 2 chorizo and egg burritos which come with rice and beans inside. Hmm. Not the typical breakfast burrito I’m used to. I’m a little skeptical. I ordered mine with no beans, because I’m traumatized by whole pinto beans, boyfriend ordered with everything. As we were paying, the owner asked if we wanted chips with our order.. sure!!! We got home, and went to town. Wow what a great burrito.. had to taste boyfriend’s beans because I noticed they weren’t whole pintos. They we’re delicious. I think it’s a Peruvian bean the white kind. Made with what I assume was lard. Holy mole! I regret not getting beans. The salsas are delicious. Taste homemade, just like my mom makes them. The homemade chips are thick, perfectly salted and fried. I didn’t get a pic because we inhaled them LoL. I can’t wait to go back to try the picaditas, tacos and enchiladas suizas!!!!
