Today, I went back to try their Naked Wings with Traditional Sauce and a beer of my waitress’s choice. I also had a bit of a shock when I walked in. Instead of the traditional Lumberjack outfit, all the gals were wearing tennis shoes, shorts (cut off jeans) and a variety of skimpy tops (halter, sport and bikini/bra). Ashley, my waitress, was very nice. And, we actually talked a bit about off restaurant topics. Not only did she come up to my table wearing… a smile ? , she checked in 2x. Plus, I flagged her down twice, she didn’t hesitate to come and see what I wanted. She chose the Man Drop Dead Red beer for me. And, while it had more of a bite than I’m used to, being ice cold, it went well with the wings, and celery sticks. Now, between the Breaded Wings, and the Naked Wings, I’d have to say that the Breaded Wings are better. But, only by a 1/2 Star. Since I’ve only eaten here 2x, I still got a way to go. But so far, the staff has been very pleasant, the beer VERY COLD ? and the food very good. So, yeah. I’ll be back for sure. But, to be honest, I don’t see the rationale for parents bringing their kids (especially the little ones) to any sports bar. Let alone one like this.

A & D Buffalo’s – Menu with Prices – 1058 W Club Blvd # 558, Durham

Cant go lower than one star? A very emotional experience I would say. I wanted to get a simple gyro from the other place, but no, someone suggested that we should get food from A&D. I agreed and after carefully looking at the menu and those pictures besides them, decided to order 6 Buffalo wings with some fries and celery. (Wait was like 15-20mins). Anyways, I got my order and since I was quiet hungry, i was looking forward to destroy em wings. I opened my box and saw these 6 tiny wings. Which didn’t even look like that they came from chicken. I have had quail once and it had bigger wings than these whatever they call em. But the hey. They hid the wings under all those fries and i could see my celery as well which gave me hope to continue to eat. As I tried to bite off the meat from the wing. The whole wing got stuck between my teeth, not a piece but the whole tiny wing. As i struggled to eat and enjoy my food I picked up a piece of celery which brought tears to my eyes, last time I had one of those tears was when I lost my pet cat Sammy. Anyways. That was devastating to me. I couldn’t hold it. I had to take pictures of the food, which I have posted along with this review. Oh yeah they charge $0.30 for water as well. That must be some super special ultra filtered imported water. Because I do feel really hydrated. JUST SAYING. IT’s a lie….. All those pictures dont match the end product.

Smitty’s Restaurant St James – Menu with Prices – 1017 St James St, Winnipeg

Tuesday and Thursday wing nights at Smitty’s…a favourite of many in this city. Compared to other places, at 6 wings for $2.64 (which works out to $0.44 each), this is ridiculously cheap! The wings are smaller but I don’t mind and come breaded or naked (non-breaded) with quite a few flavours. There’s hot, killer, cajun, salt & vinegar, electric honey, bbq, salt n pepper, sweet chili, lemon pepper, dry and a few more. The “killer” which is their spiciest wing was super lame…so Smitty’s is not the place for spicy wings at all. The killer flavour was more salty than spicy – boo! I loved their salt ‘n pepper flavour as it goes well with my beer – Keith’s Red for $4.55. The sweet chile was pretty good without being too sweet. Service here is hit and miss…not sure if they were understaffed or just slow but it takes a little time to get refills and additional wing orders. This place gets pretty busy past 7 pm as there was a line up waiting to get into the lounge. Granted there was a Jets game on as well as being a Thursday night. The lounge looks way nicer than the Grant and Pembina location as the decor is newer. It’s still a sports bar feel to it but everything looked clean and nice. But you definitely can’t beat this place for value for beer and wings. Casual feel where you can hang out with a group of friends.

Legends Wings & Brews – Menu with Prices – 1520 N Mountain Ave, Ontario

Interior layout and design: A Atmosphere (12:30PM Sunday): B Audio/Visual (TV sounds and placement): A Server (Cassandra): A Wings (Garlic Parmesan): D Wings (Buffalo Double Dare equivalent to Wingstop Extra Hot): C+ Blue Cheese dipping sauce: C Pricing: Similar to competitors (NOT LISTED IN ONLINE MENU) The idea of the “sports legend” theme fits the sports-bar concept well. We entered the octagonal room which was tastefully clad with seating that allowed for relative privacy. There were large photographs of legends of many sports, including horse racing. However, aside from photos, there was no other memorabilia on display. Incidentally, my visit on this day was to see which photo of Aussie Rod Laver (tennis legend/my childhood idol) they chose for display, but was disappointed to find none. Anyhow, I ordered a large Fat Tire on tap and it got to the table quickly. Unfortunately, we detected something the size of a guppy to be swimming around in it. Don’t get me wrong, I love fresh fish, but not when it’s swimming around in my beer! By the way, we were in awe that something could actually survive in such an environment. The server heeded my request for bottled beer and thoughtfully, she returned with two brands that were most similar to what I ordered. It was on the house – A classy move. In addition to the mediocre wings, I second another reviewer’s comment about the “puddle of oil” that accompanied the Garlic Parmesan wings. Legends could learn much from sampling an order of these from Wingstop. The typical celery sticks did not come with the order. The carrots did, but were 4″ long and cut into a square shape about 1/8″ x 1/8″. They didn’t snap and crunch like fresh raw carrots because they were wilted. This issue may be why they didn’t want to bother with celery, which more quickly succumbs to wilting. A restaurant that uses the words “Legends” and “Wings” should serve wings that at-least rival competitors like Wingstop, Buffalo Wild Wings, etc. Moreover if this place doesn’t get the food (at least the wings/ carrots/celery) up to snuff, it won’t be around for long as there is simply too much to choose from. Trying new places is always a risk and I’m thankful that companies like Groupon exist. Would I come back without a Groupon? No. Would I come back with another Groupon? Perhaps. But it would be to visit with Cassandra, have a beer and watch a sporting event…

Wings on Fire – Menu with Prices – 9040 E Valencia Rd Ste 100, Tucson

This is a new wing place that opened right by my house so I thought I’d give it a try. Honestly the wings were pretty good. I ordered a combo of 10 boneless wings with lemon pepper and parmesan as well as a combo of 10 traditional wings with lemon pepper and hot. Both combos came with a smalldrink, fries, and some celery and carrots. I give this a four star because it’s pretty pricy. Both combos cost almost $30 ($27 to be exact). Also the wings felt a little bit under cooked. However, I would visit again. Update: 5 stars. This is my go to wing place since it’s very conveniently close to my house. The staff are extremely friendly and I love the wings.

The Wing Guru Bartlett – Menu with Prices – 7199 Stage Rd, Memphis

First the good: the honey-hot wings were cooked just to crispness, as they should have been, and they were of ample size, unlike some wing joints that like to serve tiny wings since they buy them by the pound and serve them by the piece. While the sauce was very good, I really could not detect any heat at all…more like over-sweet honey mustard sauce. Then, there is the bad: the price. For over $13 I got 5 wings and a coke. That’s it. Fries are extra, as are other sides. But even the celery and/or carrot sticks are extra. I really didn’t even think about this, since they are pictured on the internet coming with your order, as they should. They GIVE you either ranch or blue cheese sauce, but nothing to dip them in, except of course if you want to engage in what has become a common practice of dipping your wings in the dressing. Not something I do, and this was never the intention for serving the dressing. I use the celery and dressing, as intended, to clear the palate while eating supposedly spicy food. So, I had to pay $.49 + tax to get celery to go with my dressing. Did not make me a happy customer. Finally, the ugly: After placing my order I was given a number card on a metal stalk to stand at my table, I assumed so the “food runner” could bring my order to my table. Wrong. She yelled out my number from behind the counter (this was another lady, not the cashier who was busy with other customers) and I had to go up there to get my order. First time I’d been there, and most likely the last. It will also be the last time I tip in advance. I will be checking prices and pricing policy on the internet before I think about going back.

Boardwalk Tavern – Menu with Prices – 8651 Wattsburg Rd, Erie

Went for wings tonight, it took 1 1/2 hrs and it wasnâ??t really busy to get the wings. The wings were cold when I finally got them and had them microwaved and just ate them luke warm. Had to go to the bar to get my own refill because the waitress never made a point to stop by our table. What killed it for me and why I will never go back is either the cook or dishwasher came out of the kitchen and went to the bathroom still wearing his apron. Thatâ??s nasty. Câ??mon man!

Dick’s Wings and Grill ST. AUGUSTINE ? SR16 – Menu with Prices – 965 FL-16, St. Augustine

My Dad loves this place, but we went recently with a table of five, and we were mostly disappointed. I ordered a Sprite, and it had a musty flavor so I had to switch to lemonade, which was pretty watery. Three of us had boneless wings, and two had bone-in wings. Mine were very over cooked. They were crunchy, and floating in grease, from the Gold Rush sauce. The onion rings were very greasy too. My son had traditional Buffalo style hot wings, but they had no sauce on them, and were not even close to hot. My brotherâ??s were bone-in, but mushy and not hot either. If you like your wings hot, make sure you order them flaming hot. And the celery? They shouldnâ??t even bother. They were cut so thin, they were curled. Not really impressed…

American Wings & Deli – Menu with Prices – 2420 Pio Nono Ave, Macon

Hot wings, lemon pepper wings, this place has the best on the south side of town. Large wings with hot sauce that clings to the meat. The combo comes with a huge heap of crispy krinkle-kut fries, carrot and celery sticks, your choice of dressing, and a beverage. They also have the usual other foods for a place like this: chicken teriyaki with fried rice; fried fish platters; salads; burgers; Philly steak sandwiches; etc. Owned by a Korean family, the front counter is staffed by African-American women while Latinos do most of the cooking. Truly an international enterprise. From I-75, take the exit for U.S. Highway 80 / Eisenhower Pkwy. Go west to Pio Nono Ave. and turn right. I’ve only ever had the wings here, so that’s all I can recommend. I knew this place had the best wings when I saw a crew of cooks from another wings place come in and order hot wings. ‘Nuff said! You can dine in, but I get it to go because I live nearby. The atmosphere is nothing to brag about, but even when they’re busy they move things along at a pretty good clip.

Yummy Place Chicken – Menu with Prices – 3230 Steve Reynolds Blvd, Duluth

To start, the restaurant is open until 11 on the weekdays. Beware before driving to the restaurant after 11pm. This eatery is so cute! Just the perfect size to where you can eat inside and not feel the awkward presence of being in the way of other people ordering takeout. The service is great, the surfaces are clean. The upkeep of the restaurant is very attractive. I’ve only ever ordered the wings, and I can promise that it is worth it. The wings are good. Really good. Honey-Soy, no breading is the first flavor that I tried. I was pleased as the wings were super crispy with just the right amount of sauce to coat them. I didn’t eat until I drove back home so it had been sitting in the container for at least a half hour and the texture was still perfect. The meat was not dry or hard but moist and flavorful, complementing the crunchy skin surrounding it. I returned around four days later to order their traditional breaded fried chicken wings, no sauce. Again, I was not disappointed as the wings were even crunchier than the non breaded wings but not overly so. My one and only issue is that they’re unable to fulfill orders with all flats. In fact, they’re the only chicken spot that I’ve been to that completely rejects the option, even for an added charge. Still, I really do like this restaurant. With such an enticing menu filled with various options, I’ve already planned my return.

Best Wings Of Memphis – Menu with Prices – 951 Getwell Rd, Memphis

This is part of a chain of hot wing places in the city. I’ve not eaten at their other locations, so can’t compare it to their other sites. This location is relatively new. The store was clean, and the service was good. There is dine in as well as takeout, and also drive-through. Parking was adequate, and it was easy to get in and out of the parking lot. I ordered the four piece mild whole wings. The wings were fried, and then covered with the sauce. Wings were average size, and the taste is about what you would expect of most wings The wings came with two rolls, a few carrots and small celery slices, and ranch dressing dip. Overall I would rate the wings as average. If I was in the area and hungry for wings, I would stop here again. But up I was really interested for a serious meal of wings, I would probably go to Buffalo wild wings or another place.

Big Al’s Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 1915 31 St SE, Calgary

So Thursday is wing night at Big Al’s. We went early to avoid the evening rush, (ok, I was trying to be politically correct here, the “evening rush” aka scary evening clientele that OCCASIONALLY shows up here) and found out the wing special starts at 2pm. Bar was spacious and clean with large, comfortable booths that invite you and 4 others (maybe more?) to have a comfortable sItting. Waitress was very attentive. We shared three plates of wings between two of us, Hot, Sweet Hot and Honey garlic. These are non-breaded wings that are a fair size for 25 cents each. They were perhaps somewhat overcooked, and not as juicy as I would like, but I would go back again to fill my “wing itch” for sure. Seriously this is a down to earth pub, clean, good service with plenty of room to relax with a friend, and cold beer on tap. What else could you want in a wing place?

Orange & Brew – Menu with Prices – 686 Museum Rd, Gainesville

Ive been here before and i remember telling myself to never come back again. but my friend Maxwell is turning 21 tonight, and wanted to purchase a beer at the GDI hub of campus to celebrate. So we came in with positive vibes. The Staff was super nice and helpful, they let me sample the sauces, so honestly I thought this would be okay. I sat down and the wings came out quick, so I’m expecting to be like wow this place is actually not as bad as I remember. Let’s just say I was HORRIBLY mistaken. The wings actually were the worst wings I’ve eaten ever (and I actually go to wings all the time so Ive had some bad wings). My friend Maxwell regurgated after the French fry he consumed because it was so bad. Overall food was a 0.2 out of 10 on the one bite scale. Service 8.7 out of 10.
