This is my go to Coffee spot. We live in Tumalo but I would drive for a good latte! So imagine my delight when I asked if they ever do any event catering with their desserts, they said yes! We just got married a few weeks ago and Amanda along with her amazing crew at TCH made our dessert table spectacular for a very fair price! I was so thrilled to have my favorite cake flavor, and so many of the delicious desserts we enjoy from them normally to share with our guests. Everyone commented on how beautiful the table arrangement was as well as how delicious everything was! The coffeehouse itself is always so wonderful. The staff is friendly and the coffee is amazing. We love our little coffee house in Tumalo!!

Mr & Mrs Creamery – Menu with Prices – 2355 E Foothill Blvd, Pasadena

I booked Mr & Mrs Creamery for my baby shower based on positive reviews I’ve read. After browsing through the website and seeing how wonderful the desserts and ice creams looked, I decided to book with James Lee. I have to say I am glad I did because James responded quickly and provided excellent service! When the day of my event arrived, his team forgot to pack the custom sugar cookies. I was a little disappointed at first because the cookies tied the whole theme of the party together. But James was kind enough to refund me for the cookies and even brought the cookies to me at the end of the event, which I was perfectly happy with. As for the desserts, all of my guests enjoyed the push pops. I ordered three flavors: strawberry rosemary (the most popular among my guests), Cookie Monster, and oolong tea. All the flavors were delicious! The macarons were also incredible! I also ordered a two tier cake and everyone commented on the delicious flavors! Not to mention, my guests also commented on the lovely simple design of the cake. Mr & Mrs Creamery is truly a one stop shop for all kinds of desserts! Not only does James cater desserts, he is also a photographer! He provided me with a link to images from my baby shower and they look amazing! Overall, I am so glad I went with this vendor! I plan to hire James again for my daughter’s 1st bday. Great service and delicious desserts! I totally recommend Mr & Mrs Creamery for all your events!

Tasty Cakes and Confections – Menu with Prices – 7325 Elizabeth St, Cincinnati

Susie and Robin do an AMAZING job with their cakes and confections. My husband and I tried some samples from Susie and before we were even finished (before Susie had even left and we could discuss it) he said she was hired! Luckily, we were both completely on the same page. We even decided to have a dessert table for our wedding favors, and they were a huge hit. They provided a lot of guidance for numbers, what guests generally like, did setup and the cost was affordable. We had (deep breath) cake balls, buckeye balls, ginger molasses cookies, sugar cookies, cake balls of a number of flavors, cupcakes (instead of wedding cake) of whatever flavors we asked for (chocolate peanut butter, lemon, chocolate raspberry, white, etc), some pumpkin flavors…. these delicious mint things… I’m probably missing some stuff, but the desserts were a highlight of our reception for us (we both love our sweets) and for our guests. We’re also fans of the black raspberry chip Graeters flavor, and they did a wonderful version of that for our own cake for the cake cutting. I believe everything is made in-house (including their own fruit/other flavorings) and you can tell in the vibrant flavors. As is always important for a business that interacts with stressed wedding couples, they responded quickly to emails, were to the point, friendly and were adaptable while adding their expertise to the evenings plans. Can’t recommend them enough, and my husband is already bemoaning that we live out of town and can’t have their creations on a regular basis.

Bellini’s Bistro – Menu with Prices – 350 Pennsylvania St, Buffalo

This is the perfect (!!!!) place to go before a concert at Kleinhan’s Music Hall….. and not just because of the great location. The setting is lovely. The service is wonderful. And, the food was absolutely delicious. Being that the name of the place is “Bellini’s, I had to have a Bellini before dinner. The champagne and peach nectar were delightfully refreshing as we looked at the menu. For a starter we shared a Caesar Salad which was fresh and wonderful with just the right amount of flavorful dressing, crunchy croutons, and a liberal amount of freshly grated parmesan cheese. Fresh baked bread with delicious olive tapenade was brought to the table. While everything on the menu sounded delicious, the two of us decided to each order one of the evening’s specials. Since one was a steak dish and the other a scallops dish, we figured we could share half-and-half and end up with our own version of a “Surf and Turf” (how cute are we?!?). The steak (New York Strip) was cooked exactly medium, flavorful, and extremely tender. It was served with smashed skin-on red potatoes and grilled zucchini and red peppers. The scallops were cooked to wonderfully and placed atop perfectly toothsome risotto and accompanied by more of the delicious grilled veggies. Desserts are reportedly made in-house. We decided to share the tiramisu which was more like a layer cake than the traditional recipe. Still, it was flavorful and fresh with a wonderful creaminess and perfect coffee flavor. We will definitely be back (again and again)!!!!

Pearl Street Cafe & Pub – Menu with Prices – 78 Pearl St, Providence

I love this place! Hidden between Women and Infant’s Hospital and Rhode Island Hospital parking lot is this unassuming GEM! I mean let’s start with the fact that its adorable inside and out and absolutely immaculate! You walk inside and you can see it’s mostly filled with hospital employees who have also stumbled upon this place. There is ample seating for people inside and out and always nice and cool in the summertime. On the right hand side when you walk in, they have a little table with a table top refrigerator to house all of the dairy products for your coffee… Pretty amazing idea if you ask me. On to the fresh brewed coffee. I like nothing more than a good iced coffee. They have brewed bean flavor coffee which I enjoy so much more than sugary flavor shots. The coffee is exceptional here. Not sure what brand they use but it is delicious. Now on to the important stuff. The GELATO. Oddly enough, this tiny place has the BEST in house made gelato I have had in Rhode Island. I have tried so many of the flavors and we used to send someone who drew the short straw during work over to get the entire unit a cup of it. I loved the nutella flavored and the lemon was so fresh and crisp. I believe they change the flavors up too- which is a bonus. Staff is friendly and helpful and always smiling. It appears they serve panini, salads, and have a modest selection of liquor too but have yet to try. Get out and try this place for a good coffee or an amazing gelato that is made IN HOUSE!

Specialty Cakes – Menu with Prices – 1560 Wabash Ave, Springfield

If you want the best cake for your event, check out Specialty Cakes! They offer so much more than just cake but for our wedding we were looking specifically for cake. Cake tasting is probably the most exciting and anticipated event during the planning process! Specialty Cakes delivered with excellent flavor, presentation, easy process, and wonderful workers! Even though we all wanted to go taste more cake, we knew in the first few bites that we were sold. Who says a wedding cake has to be a boring white and chocolate cake? This place offers so many great options. My husband and I couldnâ??t make up our minds, so our wedding cake included 4 different flavors, White, Lemon, Strawberry, and Banana! They also made us an amazing Rumchata adult sheet cake and a Spice/Red Velvet sheet cake for all of us to enjoy! Our guests were incredibly happy with all of the options and raved about the flavor and design of our cake. We could not be happier with our decision on working with Specialty Cakes, they were tremendous with our whole wedding!

Hummingbird Macarons and Desserts – Menu with Prices – 265 W Tazewell St, Norfolk

Hummingbird Macarons & Desserts is lovely place for desserts. The location used to be at a cute shop on Botetourt Street. Now it is located at the Pagoda near the Nauticus Museum. The environment is very calm and spacious. I got to enjoy having a pot of tea and various desserts each time I visit. Viewing the garden while eating sweets can be very relaxing. It is the perfect location for a photoshoot because you have access to sweets for breaks. Also, a great location for a date or just to relax. The macarons are delicious and cute. There are plenty of flavors to try. The crust of the cookie is crispy and soft. It’s has a good ratio of the filling to the cookie. After taking a bite, it is a bit chewy but not too chewy. It has a fluff kind of texture and it does not crumble apart. The flavors are very unique to try especially since they all have different fillings. During the summer time, they have Macarons Ice Cream Sandwiches. The ratio of ice cream to cookie is about 3 times as thick, and it is delicious. There are other kinds of desserts to try such as their red velvet cake, salted caramel crumble, apple crumble tart, various cakes, and etc. I enjoyed their red velvet cake and lemon tart. They also offer tea, mimosa, and coffee. They have a huge selection of teas to choose from. Always go for a pot of tea if you plan to stay there for a while. Every visit is always an enjoyable and relaxing time. The staff is very friendly and always welcoming you back. There is a reward system, which I always forget when I visit. For every visit when you spend $10 or more, you get a star. I don’t know how many stars to build up, but they did mention a discount after building enough. Now that the location is at the Pagoda, there is more room to bring friend and share the desserts. I highly recommend coming here to relax and enjoy a cup of tea with lovely macarons and desserts, Always something new to try out.

Capital Cakes – Menu with Prices – 3108 Cardinal Lake Dr, Durham

Working with Katelyn was amazing! She designed our dream cake the first time we met her, and the sketch was so similar to what we saw on the wedding day. You know how wedding cake usually looks pretty but tastes bleh? Not Kate’s cakes, they are beautiful AND delicious. She also made us some macarons that our guests loved! (If you’ve ever tried to make macarons, you know they are extremely difficult to get right). And our cake toppers were delicately crafted macarons shaped like goats!! If you want fantastic desserts, while working with a wonderful, communicative, professional pastry artist, at a reasonable price, Kate is your person! We will be coming back to her in the future!

Dolce&Amaro Italian Artisan Bakery – Menu with Prices – 1310 Westover Terrace #110, Greensboro

It’s about time there was a true bakery in town that served something other than cupcakes, cake, and brownies. This bakery is very reminiscent of the European bakeries I’ve had the privilege of visiting. The display cases are beautifully set up, with a clean and simple look. They have larger desserts to share (or totally indulge in for yourself), and smaller desserts if you want to try more than one thing (or you’re on a diet, which I am not). My sister and I opted to try several desserts- the chocolate coconut cake, the triple chocolate cake, fruit tart, and the Marilyn (a white chocolate raspberry dessert). Right after we ordered, the pastry chef brought out a freshly baked tray of doughnuts filled with Nutella. They looked and smelled amazing! All of the desserts were really good. I’m a sucker for a fruit tart and this one was on point. The crust was just right with a rich buttery flavor. I would have liked a tad more custard, but the flavor overall was super yummy. The coconut and triple chocolate desserts were both good as well. I wasn’t as big of a fan of the Marilyn but it didn’t go to waste at our table either. To my surprise, the pastry chef shared one of the Nutella doughnuts with us and it was doughnut heaven. Tuesday is “two lattes for $5” day and they also did not disappoint. Eventually I’d like to go back and try their macarons, because I judge all bakers by those little bite size pieces of heaven.

Antler Baking Co. Menu with Prices 10 Prospect St, Bellingham

Well, my girlfriends and I always love a good dessert, and when we saw the display earlier in the day the Woods Coffee employee gave us the scoop and said you have to try her desserts. We have our usual favorites in town for certain things, but I do think Bellingham can always use a great little dessert spot that offers up a variety of items beyond just cupcakes/cake. Amidst the decor of warm woods and white cake stands is a variety of impressive desserts. Our selection for the day included peanut butter pie, a chocolate torte with a berry sauce, carrot cake, a gluten free polenta cake, porter chocolate coconut caramel, white cupcakes with raspberry and a tequila frosting I think, and mascarpone chocolate chip cookie sandwiches, among other things. What I love are the unique flavor combinations: cardamom, porter, sea salt, candied orange, mascarpone….these desserts are definitely elevated beyond your typical fare. I opted for the cupcake and chocolate cake. The cupcake was dense and moist, just the way I like cake. The tart raspberry balanced lovely with the sweet frosting. The chocolate cake was phenomenal. A lighter cake in crumb texture but rich in chocolate flavor and superbly moist. The coconut flavor in the frosting resonated but didn’t overpower and the toasted coconut on the exterior added a great textural element. The porter was pronounced, with that coffee richness I associate with those beers. The caramel was rich and delicious. Overall everyone in my group raved about their desserts, and we are so happy to have a unique delicious option in downtown and close to work. Check it out!

Mare’s Custom Cakes – Menu with Prices – 27507 Echo Canyon Ct, Corona

Mare did such an amazing job on my son’s birthday cake and cake pops. I needed the desserts done around the time the fires were taking place and she had been evacuated from her home; she still managed to finish everything in time for me. She is so kind and her work is amazing! I sent her a photo of how I wanted the cake decorated and it turned out better than I had imagined. I also asked her to make cake pops that looked like stick shifts and everyone loved the idea and thought they looked perfect. The cake and cake pops were so delicious and moist. She also offers a large selection of cake and frosting flavors. I’m so happy I discovered her, and I would recommend her to anyone in need of desserts. She’s my go to from now on!

The Cheese Block – Menu with Prices – 350 Clinton St, Costa Mesa

I recently hired The Cheese Block to set up a grazing table for my grandmother’s funeral reception. Caity was SO helpful and kind from the very first phone call all the way through to the end where she came back to tear down the setup and packaged up leftovers for us to take home. Having her come in and setup a table took so much stress off of our plate because we knew that our guests would be well taken care off with delicious snacks without the hassle/logistics of setting it up ourselves. The table was absolutely beautiful and the guests commented all afternoon about how nice it was. The food was delicious too! It was exactly what we needed and my family and I are SO SO grateful and glad that it worked out so well. Would definitely recommend this service for any event!

June’s Cakery – Menu with Prices – 2545 E Division St, Springfield

Ella is wonderful to work with! She was so sweet and patient with us while we were deciding on the cake for my daughters wedding. The cake was wonderful and exactly what the bride and groom wanted. The strawberry filling was a wonderful surprise for the wedding guests that expected the same ol’ traditional wedding cake. Ella was very accomodating with the pick up time as well. We couldn’t have asked for a better price, experience or better tasting cake…Ella did a wonderful job!
