I’ve given them a new name! Trattoria SbanDON’Ti! Do you like it? I love it! There’s more than one Yelper who has mentioned the very unfriendly, “very tall long brown-haired hostess”. I believe she’s a manager. And we agree… she is very unfriendly. Icy. Doesn’t smile. We noticed the ice queen before we even had a problem. Once we had a problem, well, she’s not at all Customer Service oriented. It was like she was pissed we dared to complain. It was kinda comical. She makes the Soup N*** from Seinfeld’s 116th episode look as warm and fuzzy as the Easter Bunny! If you don’t know Seinfeld… well, she’s as warm and welcoming as Cersei Lannister… as pleasant as the perpetually puss-faced Sansa Stark. ROTFL Authentic Italian. Well, we’ve spend considerable time in Italy. The food at SbanDON’Ti just doesn’t measure up. The bread was pale, heavy/wet (not properly cooked) & flavorless – like they forgot the salt. The pappardelle was al dente – excellent! – but flavorless – like they forgot the salt… and then forgot to salt the water. The sauce was also flavorless and the sausage was hard to find. Perhaps they pureed it? LOL The grilled beef tenderloin was flavorless – there was absolutely no seasoning on the meat or in the sauce – it was supposed to be thinly sliced – it was not. But it was overcooked – there was absolutely no pink at all – the only flavor in the dish was char. Here’s the thing – I’m not a fan of salty things. I tend to NOT salt my food after it’s cooked. I DO, however, understand the importance of using salt during the cooking process and I understand the importance of tasting the food I’m cooking. This chef needs to use salt and taste the food that’s being prepared. If this chef thinks this food tastes delicious… he may have had an unfortunate tongue-related accident where his tastebuds were obliterated. Maybe he stuck it out at the Ice Queen and her glare burned his taste buds off? It’s just a theory. If you want excellent authentic Italian food and don’t want to fly to Italy – the next time you’re in Portland, go to Piazza Italia. You’ll thank me.

Taqueria el Torito – Menu with Prices – 2515 Freeman Mill Rd suite b, Greensboro

If this was asked of me before i stopped comming here they may have gotten 5 stars. I will no longer come in this place. Me and my family used to go here january to May we ate 3 times a day (everyother day) $35+ a visit. I thinks its the owners daughter or sister they look just alike.. I tell them everytime i go in there she doesnt listen shes too busy speaking spanish talking junk she isnt listening. I get the same thing all the time im in there all the time well i used to be and she still say she doesnt remeber and if she does she messes the order up anyways like my smoothie. Its not that hard to be quiet stop talking junk and make the food. But shes rude. I told her the last time i was in there my family will never be there again if shes still there. I havent went back since and this was almost 2 month ago. Ik our business was just somemore money but ive told everyone ik because that girl is just so rude. Hire people who understand both languages and if they speak spanish make sure there not talking about customers while the customer is inside the store. They’ve lost my business completly.

Gelato-go Sarasota – Menu with Prices – 14 S Orange Ave, Sarasota

This is the real deal, authentic Italian Gelato in America. You owe it to yourself to try this place. To me, Gelato was synonymous with overpriced ordinary ice cream, until I visited Florence, Italy and had Gelato at a well known place. The Gelato I had in Florence was a 10, the best ice cream I had previously tasted in America was a 6. Since I came back I have had Gelato at dozens of places trying to duplicate my Florence experience. Gelato-go comes the closest. They use Italian machinery, and ingredients imported from Italy. Every flavor I have tried here has been excellent. I rate them 9/10, and far better than any other place I have tried in America. I have made several visits. Their coffee is amazing also.

Marchese Italian Market & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1700 Pleasure House Rd #106, Virginia Beach

I must admit this review is BADLY influenced by the fact that I am Italian myself, living in Italy. After five days driving alone along the ocean shore, on my way to Miami from NYC, all the time under the threat of hurricane Florence, I really felt like I should die without a good espresso. So I googled around me and I was lucky enough to be in the right place at the right time. I felt home as soon as I got in, it looks like the places I was used to when I was young, so common all over Italy, specially along minor roads, still existing today. A mix of a cafe (of the kind called “Bar” in Italy, nothing to do with the Anglo Saxon “bar” concept) and a “salumeria” (deli shop) where they make panini for you and stuff them with any item they sell there. So not only I had my excellent espresso but I was delighted by the Italian lady who owns the place (I apologize with her for having lost in my mind any sign of her name) with a long and very interesting conversation about her idea behind her lovely spot and the way she runs it.

Frali Gourmet – Menu with Prices – 217 W Liberty St, Savannah

Wow! Seriously 5 stars all around, service food and price are on point here. This was probably one of my favorite lunches in forever, I felt like I was transported back to Italy. I came here with a girlfriend and our kiddos to try out lunch and left so impressed and off course wanting more even though I was stuffed. This is another family owned business and they really put their love in each customers dish. We started with the antipasto plate for two which came with prosciutto, Italian ham, a dried salami, 3 different cheeses, some pickled veggies and bread. This was a great starter, they also brought out some baguette with a toasted pepper sauce which was amazing. For lunch I ordered the build your own pasta with spinach and ricotta ravioli in a vodka sauce with a side of meatballs for my son and I to share. This was the highlight of my day, the meatballs were so moist and I’m typically not a meatball person, the ravioli tasted so fresh and once we finished I was so tempted to lick my plate clean the vodka sauce was out of this world. My friend ordered their Pappardelle alla Bolognese and that too was amazing. The food here taste so authentic and them making everything in house or imported from Italy really comes through with the meals. Our server who I also believe was the owner continuously checked on us to make sure everything was good. The only bummer was their gelato machine was down which was ok because they still had a pretty big dessert menu and we finished our meals with sorbet imported from Italy .

Lella alimentari – Menu with Prices – 325 Manhattan Ave, Brooklyn

Piadine arenâ??t well known outside Italy, but they should be. These delightful snacks (kind of an Italian quesadilla) are a staple among late night eaters in Italy and have made their way here through the expert hands at Lella. The space has the vibe of a cute refurbished gas station and is packed with charming gadgets. There are good options for meat eaters and non- and they also have some bowls and salads for folks less inclined to eat carbs. Coffee is also excellent.

Table Boston Menu with Prices 445 Hanover St, Boston

I had the most amazing experience at Table. The minute my mom and I walked in, we were treated like family. The owner/chef, Jen welcomed us with a huge warm smile and some of the most incredible food Iâ??ve ever eaten. For those unfamiliar with Table, it is family style. My mom and I entered not knowing anyone and left with all sorts of new friends and family members. The food that Jen prepared was obviously made with love. From the very first bite , to the last, everything was delicious. The Gnocchi was the best Iâ??ve ever had ( donâ??t tell my 100% Italian mother that I said that) The eggplant, The meatballs, absolutely everything I ate was like music in my mouth. Iâ??ve spent many nights eating in restaurants in Italy and the food at Table was so authentic.. it could have come straight from Tuscany. The atmosphere was so pleasant and inviting.. far friendlier than when I eat with my own family haha! For anyone looking for a truly extraordinarily meal mixed with an elegant and friendly atmosphere, then rush to Table( if you can get a seat)

La Piazza Cucina Italiana – Menu with Prices – 220 S 6th St, Springfield

If you’re looking for delicious and genuine Italian cuisine that won’t break the bank, this is place to go in Springfield. I found this place because it is within walking distance of the Abraham Lincoln Doubletree hotel. It has a very warm family atmosphere. I was here with five other people, four of them visiting from outside of the country and who were looking for good Italian food. For appetizers, we had the shrimp scampi which was very flavorful. We also had freshly baked bread that was soft and went well with the olive oil. The main courses varied; some had the lasagna while others had the traditional carbonara pasta and the mushroom ravioli. I had the monthly special, salmon carbonara pasta. Everything tasted awesome and you could tell that it was made with love. My friends were very impressed with the wine selection and enjoyed a red wine from Italy to go with their meal. As an extra treat, the chef herself (she’s from Sicily) came out to greet us and treated us with freshly made cannoli. The owner and the server were super cool as well and really took pride in making sure that we had an excellent experience. I’m not sure when I’ll be back in Springfield again, but when I do, I’m definitely coming back here and trying the pizza.

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – 4973-A Clairemont Dr, San Diego

This used to be the subway i went to all the time growing up. I come every once in a while now. The past two times in a row coming here i now remember having the same employee both times. I think his name was “Kian” couldnt make out the nametag. But they were unwelcoming moments. I walk in and theres only one customer and its very slow. Shes almost done. As im walking he glances at me but doesn’t acknowledge me. No greeting or anything. Im standing and waiting for about 5 minutes until he finishes up with this customer. No issue. But when he finally comes to me he still doesnt say a word takes his time and then finally stops and looks at me. Again not a word. No apology or greeting. So i had to take the initiative and start the order. As hes doing it he does it so poorly like he doesnt want to be doing it. Hes half assing and throwing whatever he grabs in his hand on the sandwiches. I hardly get any words out of him other than “is that it?” When it came to paying he just told me my total and handed me my receipt . I usually dont care about how people act enough for me to complain like this but he held that vibe the whole way through. Whatever i guess â?

Adriatic Cafe Italian Grill Spring TX – Menu with Prices – 19380 Interstate 45 N #160, Spring

BEST ITALIAN FOOD IN HOUSTON!!!! Wow. Just wow. Celebrated my dad’s bday here and had such an amazing experience! I wish I could remember the name of our server cause she was one of the BEST I’ve met… so attentive and sweet and always made sure we had everything we needed. Customer service is awesome! Now onto the food– I WAS BLOWN AWAY. I am a huge fan of Italian food and after trying many Italian restaurants anywhere from authentic to Americanized (cough, cough: Olive Garden) and this one is definitely up there with the authentic! The prices are also so affordable!!! Especially after just coming back from my NY trip and eating real, authentic Italian this place definitely compares!!! I can’t even stress enough how delicious and flavorful the Penne Alla Vodka was– one of my fave dishes I tend to order everywhere and they made it perfect. So glad I came across this restaurant on Yelp and am so happy to have a go-to authentic Italian restaurant to go to now!!! Give em a try, you won’t be disappointed!

Italgo Pasta Bar – Menu with Prices – 635 Broadway, Chula Vista

Where to go for good Italian on a late Friday night other than Little Italy??? Well if you, like me live in the South Bay part of San Diego driving to Little Italy, Hilcrest or Downtown SD is at least 20 minutes and sometimes I just don’t feel like it. No need to do that anymore. In my Yelp search for a nearby Italian restaurant I came across Italgo Pasta Bar on Broadway St. I’m not sure if they have a parking since we were able to park right in front but the parking next door at the seafood restaurant is only for them not Italgo so watch out for that. It could be called a hole in the wall since it doesn’t catch your eye when you drive by unless you are looking for it but worth the search. I’m a picky eater and am type A personality, with that being said Italgo nailed it, at least in my book. From the moment they greeted us with a warm welcome and “you may seat where you’d like” to the “thank you, hope to see you back soon” was great. The waitress was very polite and helpful, she knew her menu and when I asked for something that wasn’t on the menu she politely said “let me ask the chef” left, asked and came back to let me know “of course we can do it” This was a 5 star review right there and then since many or most restaurants don’t really like altering their dishes and rather say “sorry, we don’t do that” than keep their customers 1000% happy. Now the food, the wait was normal not super fast but not slow by any means and once we got our dishes we tasted why the descent wait. The flavor was outstanding and fresh. I have a very selective palate and when I took the first bite I was happy. The food presentation and the taste topped it all. It is a cosy place for a late night dinner since they close until midnight from Thursday to Saturday. We also ordered a creme brulee for dessert that was right on point. Definitely a restaurant we will visit again.

A Touch of Italy – Menu with Prices – 7890 Summerlin Lakes Dr # 101, Fort Myers

OMG! after relocating from the north, it was very difficult finding a good Italian deli/market and restaurant. Well, A Touch of Italy is all this in one!! They make their own pasta, which I can attest the ravioli and their sauce is delicious. The sauce is not a heavy nor spicy sauce, just right and I found a couple of nice pieces of garlic in there as well. The sausage is home made, I bought some hot sausage and was not disappointed. They make all their own foods. Back home, we had an Italian bakery that made a rum cake that was out of this world. A Touch of Italy’s brought those memories back. Nice rum flavor, creamy pudding and a little soggy on the bottom!! I can’t say enough about this place. They even have a small restaurant that you can eat there. They have a great deli, and fresh meat, cheeses, frozen pasta, dough, and the list goes on and on. I have found my new happy place!!

Marco & Co Catering LLC – Menu with Prices – 525 S Staples St, Corpus Christi

Best Italian food I’ve had in ages!! I remember eating the cuisine often when I was in Naples, Italy and I don’t even remember it being this tasty. Chef Marco does an amazing job bringing the flavors of Italy to Corpus Christi and he does so in a way that does not empty your wallet. He and his staff are so friendly and welcoming as well. The building itself is a little out of place and may seem outdated but I think it gives it a little character- a diamond in the rough if you will. My only complaint (if you want to call it one) is their hours, they close daily at like 2 or 230 pm. I wish they had evening hours as it would be a perfect spot for evening meals. We currently have chosen Marco’s to cater my sisters wedding next week. I am excited to see how they do (I’m sure they will be exemplary)! P.s. I recommend the pasta bar, cannelloni, and the chicken Florentine.
