Stopped by here after changing our mind about waiting for a table at Gyu-kaku. The place was completely empty during prime dinnertime (which I didn’t really take as a good sign). Basically you order at the counter by the entrance then sit down wherever you like. 2 staff were working at the counter and 1 kitchen staff preparing the food. The space inside is not too spacious, should be able to seat 3-4 small groups of people max. The 2 staff were talking to each other and were deafening loud that my husband and I had a hard time conversing at the table.. not even kidding. I do find it’s quite pricey, $34 for snacks and 2 drinks is more than I’d like to spend. Also, since the staff were more interested in talking loudly to each other so she wasn’t paying attention when she rang us up.. that even though we ordered the 2-bao special, we were charged the full price. We only realized it when we were throwing out our receipt on our way out. Although it was just 50 cents difference but I did find it annoying and a tad sneaky. The Kalbi Beef bao was quite okay, I really liked the abundant kimchi chili sauce which covered up the beef that was lacking with flavors. We got the Crispy Cod bao which was bland and a little fishy, and I didn’t like the raw hard-to-bite chopped cabbage. The Tiger Fries was $9 and basically was fries drizzled with spicy mayo and topped with beef slices and a hint of kimchi. For drink we ordered their Matcha and Passionfruit Green Tea. The drinks were quite refreshing. As I mentioned, it’s super loud in here. While mid-dining, 2 groups of friends suddenly entered and the place was not only cramped, but silence completely ceased to exist. Parking lot looked deceivingly plentiful but do pay extra attention cause most spots are for 20 minutes parking only and mostly are already taken by the customers waiting for a seat at Nuodle. We’re not going to be rushing back here per se, but can see ourselves returning for a quick Boba stop.

BIBIM KITCHEN Healthy Korean Bowl – Menu with Prices – 10345 S Eastern Ave #110, Henderson

Decided to come here after needing some quality food after Memorial Day Weekend. PARKING The parking was great – There was a ton of spaces outside of the place. There aren’t any meters around this area, and the complex that BIBIM Kitchen was in had a large parking lot for their customers. I tend to always pay attention to the parking areas because if you’re from LA… Well… You know lol. FOOD It was okay. The photo looks better than the actual food itself. I ordered 2 beef bulgogi bowls and 1 Bulgogi Kimchi Fries. Honestly I was not impressed at all. The beef bulgogi could have had more flavor. It was pretty bland and on top of that, could have been marinated for much longer. I had to add so much spice to it that, by the end of it all, just tasted… Spicy. No flavor other than that. The beef bulgogi fries was the same. The beef could have been MUCH tastier. I felt like I was eating some fries that was just bland flavor. Ended up only eating the fries and tossing the rest of the food. The bowls were about $8.95/bowl and the fries was about $5.95. Total came out to about $25 for 2 people, which I personally feel was not worth it, given the lack of flavor. SERVICE I went in there, not knowing what or how to order, but it was very much like Chipotle-style. The lady that was serving me was very nice and patient. However, BEWARE: You are only limited to SIX TOPPINGS. The lady that was serving and helping me out never mentioned this at the beginning and by the time I wanted more toppings, she said “Oh you’re only allowed 6 toppings.” Granted she never forewarned me, I would have assumed that she would make an exception to the bowl, but that was not the case. I learned and applied this knowledge to the next bowl. RECOMMENDATION/OVERALL RATING Not worth it, I would say it is probably a 6.5-7/10. I’ve had much better flavor + service. If you’re in the mood for a rice bowl, you’re better off going to Chipotle itself or another fast food joint. Hope their meat becomes more flavorful + marinated for longer.

Bento Kitchen Cravings – Menu with Prices – 310 N Clippert St Suite #6, Lansing

The interior was nice and clean and the staff was really nice. Food was served quickly. So far so good. I really wanted to like this place. I got the kimchi bulgogi burrito, kimchi bulgogi “fries”, and spicy wings. I took a bite out of my burrito and all I tasted was cheese that tasted like kraft singles. I thought maybe I took a cheesy corner and I was expecting to taste more. Nope. From start to end, all I tasted was cheese. Their fries were also disappointing. It was more like thick potato wedges, more kraft tasting cheese, with a very small amount of uncooked kimchi placed on top. Kimchi fries I’ve had in the past from other mexican korean fusion restaurants usually came with a copious amount of fried kimchi on top with a bunch of other toppings like green onions, sour cream, etc..

Albina Press – Menu with Prices – 4637 N Albina Ave, Portland

Great coffee shop! I’m always on the hunt for a good place to study as a graduate student. This place is one of my go to places to study. Prices are reasonable, not too loud, and lots of natural lighting, parking, and outlet access. Their menu is pretty simple and they do have tea pots. I usually get their chai latte. They don’t have any actual meals on the menu, but they do have pastries (cookies, muffins etc). There’s several tables here and lots of comfortable sofas. They have 4 sofas which is amazing! It might be hard to get tables next to outlets or even table seating when it gets crowded. I usually would just chill on the sofas until a table becomes free. Overall great place to chill out to get some work done or catch up with some friends. Joanne’s cafe rating for studying: Seating: 3.5/5 Wish there was more seating and bigger tables. Most of the tables are pretty small (2 seat table) and a couple of bigger tables (3 seat table). Comfortable sofas! Outlets: 3/5 Some outlets along the side of the wall. There are outlets next to the high table window seating and in the back room with the sofas. Parking: 4/5 There is free street parking for several hours. It is close to some neighborhoods so I think you can get some free parking a little further. There is also a small lot for parking. Lighting: 4/5 Pretty bright which is great for studying. Lots of natural lighting in the front room. It is darker in the backroom with the sofas. Price: 4/5 Pretty reasonable. Noise: 4/5 Not too loud and they play some pretty chill music. It can get a little loud when there are big groups of ppl chatting. Most ppl come here to get work done. Menu: 3/5 It would be better if they have sandwiches or meal items. Hours: 4/5 Great! Closes later than most coffee shops in Portland so you can get more hours of studying in the day.

??? (?)Together Restaurant Menu with Prices 9200 N Lamar Blvd # 101, Austin

i never considered myself the kind of dickwad that would just completely trash a small family-owned business on yelp but tonight i guess i am. the dining experience there was just seriously disappointing. i’m referring to the food because the service was fine (just fine). tonight i spent $30 on food on myself and if protein were the goal, i would have been better served ordering the 99 cent 4-piece nuggets from Wendy’s. it just seems kind of disingenuous to have a beef soup item contain 99% veggies. It’s literally described as “beef short ribs with an assortment of veggies in a spicy beef broth” when it should really be “a ton of veggies in a non-spicy soup and possibly beef if you get to the very bottom of the bowl”. their kimchi jigae was the absolute worst i’ve had in my life, and i’m including this pool of jigae, jigae that I myself have cooked. it was the most sour kimchi jigae i’ve ever had. the likeliest culprit for this that i can surmise would be old old kimchi that’s been fermenting for way too long. AND… i believe this is the only kimchi jigae i’ve ordered that’s not had an egg included. for the price of the item, an egg is such an affordable way to include protein in the dish but no… and that’s just too bad. save your money and go to either misung 888 or college roadhouse down or up the street. this place is the most expensive of the 3 and it tastes the worst.

Golden Flame Hot Wings Menu with Prices 18757 E Hampden Ave #156, Aurora

He loves chicken wings. They are his go to food when he travels for work. And this place has his favorite wings. Better than Buffalo Wild Wings he says. And this location makes the wings crispy and tasty. To me, better than other franchise locations. It was a snowy day but that made having wings a warming experience. They were busy with take out orders so that left lots of seat choices for us. And parking is usually available here which is nice. We had our staple of dinner for two which is 20 pieces of wings, drinks and fries. Should have ordered a different story of fries but we didn’t – regular fries it was. The wings were in golden flame sauce which has a slight kick but nothing we couldn’t handle. We still think there are way too many fries but I take them home so they’re not wasted. They make the wings pretty quickly but if you don’t like waiting you can order beforehand.

Hofbräuhaus Pittsburgh – Menu with Prices – 2705 S Water St, Pittsburgh

OK. So I’m half German and never ate at a German restaurant before so I thought it might be cool that the family wanted to go. So I looked on their website and was iffy The rows of tables as if you were in a high school cafeteria didn’t excite me. The menu had LOTS of pork items on it. I’m OK with that but it didn’t seem as if they really had enough of other things on it. We arrive and as we walk past the reception area I could not believe at how LOUD it was in there. I even said, “It is FAR too noisy in here.” and I could barely even hear myself say it. While the girls working there wore cute little German style dresses I noticed the guys just wore shirts and slacks. That’s no fun at all. The only guys I saw in German style clothes was members of the band who only set up and tested some stuff before we left. But with as LOUD as the place is I’d think having live music would be utterly worthless. There was SOOO much noise from EVERYBODY else talking that I couldn’t hear anybody at my table. A cousin’s kid was across the table and 2 away from me and I could hear him talking but not anything he was actually saying. My cousin at the other end of the table cold not be heard at all. If I didn’t see her mouth moving I would not have believed she was talking at all. The bathrooms are completely wrong. No paper towels, just air blowers. Yes, that right, I might as well just have had all of the other customers fart on my hands until they were dry. I HATE THAT! Then to make it worse, you have to PULL the doors to leave. So now if other customers didn’t wash their hands then it makes it completely worthless if you did. Apparently customer hygiene isn’t a concern of theirs. It is absolutely ridiculous at how much you can hear EVERYBODY ELSE in the place EXCEPT the people you are with . Since I couldn’t hear anybody I just spent most of my time just watching one of the TVs. What a complete waste of spending time with family from out of town. I got the white sausage, veal and pork. It was good but found it silly that it’s side was a pretzel. Especially since they are appetizers and desert too. I also got a potato dumpling which I liked. I’m glad I did cause the 2 sausages and pretzel would not have been enough. But overall it was OK. I mean how can you screw up pretzels. A cousin go pierogies which were fried which I don’t prefer to be done that way. Both of my sisters and my mom got the french dip. They liked them, especially the pretzel roll but felt the meat was a bit dry. I was thinking about that at first but was disappointed that it only came with fries which could be swapped out for soup or salad but not any other side. It finally started to be a LITTLE less noisy as some people left but then they turned on music which made up for the loss of people. So STILL you can’t hear a single person you are with. So completely stupid. Let’s not forget that this is South Side too where parking already sucks big time. But they are the very back and are not too close to any parking so you are pretty much forced to use their valet parking. Since the sound of EVERYBODY else being so stinking loud it forces everybody else to talk louder just so they can hear each other. This just compounds the problem. The noise level is so utterly over the top, ridiculously absurd that I just cannot state it enough. If they could fix the noise problem somehow it would raise it another star. Fix the bathroom issue AND make EVERYBODY were German style clothes would raise it another star. But this would never be a 5 star place. Just FAR TOO MUCH LOUD NOISE for that to ever be possible. I will NEVER go back here, unless I am completely deaf.

So Gong Dong Tofu & BBQ – Menu with Prices – 1633 Eastern Blvd, Montgomery

Excellent Korean noodle soup. Of course we started with all the typical small side dishes, but they were even better than what I’m used to up in Boston!! The cucumber kick was excellent, so fresh. The bean sprouts had a good amount of other toppings, I especially liked the green onions with it, and one dish was fried lotus, which I never had before and was really good. For the main, I had the vegetarian and my boyfriend had the kimchi soup. I loved my soup because it was super flavorful, full of veggies, and the noodles were cooked perfectly. I was SO full at the end. I wasn’t able to completely finish it but I got close. The kimchi variety had a little bit of beef in it, but mostly kimchi.

Waffle House – Menu with Prices – 1134 Winchester Rd, Lexington

Hard to rate as 1 star. Entered to employee attired staff 8 or so, who never noted our presence… oh yes, we 3 were told to take any available seat after pacing and looking for a clean table. Only at the counter where the staff were gathered chatting and snacking were any clean spots available. My 82 year old Waffle House fan mother had noted she wanted us to go try the New Waffle House 2 mi from her home. We asked for one booth which remained dirty from the long gone diners, and after the silent pause, someone began clearing it, and offered us a seat there. Okay! Then we reviewed menus for perhaps 10 min w/o any intrusion on our privacy. Staff continued hovering and chatting at the dining counter. They seemed to be having a good time. We sat perplexed considering what did we do to offend the staff, no greeting , water , setup or even explanation, while 1 or 2 continued to assist patrons there in other booths waiting. The 6-8 other loitering staff, stood around the counter without interacting with us, as we rose quietly and exited past them, into the parking lot. My old Dad would have said, this could have been a good place for a restaurant, but we were speechless, and stunned, as we left quietly without any question from the New Waffle House in our town. No I took no pictures. Yes I reviewed the menu. But otherwise, there was no restaurant open there for customers. But employees seem to have a good gig. We should have read the earlier reports instead of going, but at least they got meals.

Umbrellas 1296 – Menu with Prices – 1296 1st St, Sarasota

Arrived and waited at the bar for my 4 friends.. Ordered a martini and had to listen to an argument with the bartender and another staff member right infront of us.. Not classy at all.. Happy hour prices were very good and drinks were excellant.. I was told twice by a staff member that we would have the window seat table.. We just needed our drinks and we turned around and they had seated a 2 some right where we were suppose to sit.. So they stuck us back in a corner.. Not right.. Our waiter was nice and attentive.. Most of us ordered a salad with salmon.. The waiter left with our orders….then came back a few minutes later and said that they didnt have any salmon.. The chef had not told him they didnt have salmon.. Poor planning!. 4 of us had to switch to something else.. I switched to the short rib with polenta…..only to be told later that there’s no polenta and i would have mash potatoes.. The short rib came….looked very nice however it was cold inside.. My other friends added shrimp to their chopped salad entree.. They felt it was subpar in taste.. One girlfriend order scallops and she enjoyed her dish.. There was not good organization with the chef informing the staff on food on the menu. The chef needs to improve on the quality and temperature of the food he/she serves.. I would not recommend this restaurant.

Crunchies & Munchies, Inc. – Menu with Prices – 8721 SE, Baseline Rd, Ocala

I love good hot wings, so I decided to try this location to see what they had to offer. I guess I caught them at a bad time because the staff was too busy talking and goofing off instead of paying attention to who is walking in. I eventually placed an order for some wings and fries to go. I waited about 20 minutes to receive my meal. While waiting I continued to watch the staff play on their phones and do minimal work. The wings and sauce were nothing special to be honest so I doubt if I’ll return with everything I experienced.

The Flame broiler of Tulsa – Menu with Prices – 5355 E 41st St, Tulsa

Okay, to begin with, I never heard of The Flame Broiler and never noticed it though I’ve driven by TGIF which used to be next door many times. I was killing some time sitting in my car in the Barnes and Noble parking lot waiting to meet my wife for lunch but didn’t know yet where we were going. I just happened to glance up and saw their sign. I pulled up Yelp saw their rating, checked out the menu and we decided to try it out. I’m glad we did. It’s a small, order-at-the-counter type of place. There are several tables inside and some seating outside. It’s a very clean place, with a big easy-to-read menu. There are rice bowls and plates with healthy choices. (Nutrition info is on their on-line menu). No trans fat, no MSG. Choices are Chicken, Half & Half, Angus Beef and Tofu. They have soft drinks, iced tea (regular and rasberry), Acai infused vitamin water, etc. They give you a number and the food comes out almost before you can find a seat. At the silverware and condiments bar, they have many seasonings, including their “Magic Sauce” which is excellent. All the staff were extremely friendly and helpful. The only drawback is that it can get pretty loud when busy, but for a quick, reasonably priced place to grab a bite, this should definitely be on your list.

Telliniâ??s – Menu with Prices – 1515 Perimeter Pkwy NW, Huntsville

I typically love tellini’s however, this last visit made me very skeptical. They got my order completely wrong. When I brought their attention to the situation the manager came to the window, she asked what the problem was and I proceeded to tell her everything wrong with my order. She had a very rude tone and manner, as she asked for my entire order back so she could check it. She “informed” me i was wrong that was the correct order. I was missing one meal completely, I ordered chili which she said they didnt even have that night. So I fed up with the situation, just gave up and left. I really wish they would get in better staff!! Because I’m extremely upset. Like I said TYPICALLY I LOVE THEM!
