Mixed reviews on this place. Chicken Risotto was excellent, my wife’s flatbread was just ok. Bruschetta appetizer was really good. So, 4 stars for the food. For the rest, not so good. We were greeted, sort of, by a silent host- walked in, looked around, and could not find the host station- he just watched us wander around. He seated us, didn’t say a word. Well, ok. The waitress gave us our menus, and came back for our drink menu. Turns out, they were completely out of all the barrel aged drinks, which is about half the drink menu. Okay, but maybe you tell us that when we sit down, so we don’t spend ten minutes trying to decide on menu items that don’t exist. I order a botanical gin and notice the drink is missing the lemon and the basil. I say something to the waitress and she asks, well do you want me to bring a slice of lemon and some basil on a plate so you can add it. Ummm, no thanks… Since our waitress wasn’t going to say anything to the bartender, I walked up and told her the drink didn’t contain all of the ingredients- she said, it doesn’t take basil, just mint. Oh well… Maybe, just maybe you comp the 10.00 drink that you screwed up- I don’t think that even remotely occurred to the waitress. Weird service- won’t be back

First Watch – Durham – Menu with Prices – 5307 New Hope Commons Blvd Ext, Durham

Probably the rudest waiter i’ve ever had, middle-of-the-road food couldnt save the poor service. Decided to go somewhere new on saturday morning. Coming into the restaurant we were received with a mild greeting and seated. Our waiter arrived and asked what we’d like to drink. No welcome, no greeting, if there were specials we didnt hear about them, he did not even give his name. Because i dont have his name I can only say that he was working 7/6/19 at some point between 12 and 2 pm, was tall, overweight, slicked back short black curly hair, and he had a face like he didnt want to be there. he was waiting tables in the booth area near the windows away from the front door. We ordered our drinks, hot cocoa for them and I order sweet tea. He came back a few minutes later and wordlessly dropped them on the table, the water glasses were on the table, they remained unfilled. I was with my wife, mother-in-law and her aunt, english is not their first language and they are very picky eaters. They spent about 5 minutes reading the menu before he came by and asked what we were ordering.. I look over and my mother in law is literally in the process of squinting at the menu when he asks us this.. My wife is still reading a menu and her aunt still has one in her face as well.. no one had a menu on the table, no one was staring around idly, no one flagged him down, in no way shape or form was there a cue for him to ask us our order.. dude didnt even ask if we needed more time or had questions.. because theyre foreign theyre often uncomfortable ordering food, my wife hurries both of them through the menu while the waiter essentially stands there with an irritated demeanor and toe-taps. he takes the order and hes gone. I couldnt follow his interactions with the other tables but they didnt look like they were any better. what makes it worse is he didnt seem all that busy or rushed, while that doesnt excuse his behavior, it would have at least made it understandable. our drinks ran out and shortly after, our food arrived and it was pushed onto our table. if there was a utensil, cup, hand, cell phone, purse, whatever on the table, it was shoved out of the way by a plate.. at this point it was comical how much this dude did not give a damn. the plates were shoved onto the table and he was gone. The hot cocoa cups were empty, the water glasses still werent filled, and my tea was just ice. No drink refills, no mid-meal check up. He came by, asked if we would be splitting our check and that was the last of him. oh yeah, i forgot about the food.. Overall the food was “okay” but completely forgettable.. hell, ill only remember this place cause the waiter was a terrible host..

Hwy 55 Burgers Shakes & Fries – Menu with Prices – 7600 Kingston Pike, Knoxville

I promise to revisit this place and then revisit the review, if needed. But my first trip, I found the service and “speed” lacking a good bit. I think they need a host/greeter, basically. I walked in at what appears to be a ‘front counter,’ but was never greeted. Finally a waitress walking by said “just seat yourself.” After a good wait, I got a menu and drink offer. Once I ordered (just hot dogs), it took a good long while for the food to come (no utensils; and I guess it’s good news/bad news that the hot dogs were tasty and messy so that a fork would have been useful). The waitress I had was fine; she offered drink refills and brought the check in a timely manner. I assumed one paid at the front register so I walked up there, and asked a waitress on the way if I paid up front and she confirmed. But I stood at those registers several minutes, with workers going right past me without any recognition, before finally a cook called on someone else to come up there. I’m holding a check in one hand and a wallet in the other, but the waitress still asks what I need. (Do the math, hon….). She took the check and needed to make change from her bib, without using the cash registers, so I assume that the norm is just to pay at the tables. The setup sure doesn’t seem that way. I’ll give it another shot because prices seemed OK and some of the menu choices sounded good. Hope service is better and that now that I know their system I won’t be fooled to stand around waiting to pay.

Kumori Sushi & Teppanyaki – Palms Crossing – Menu with Prices – 3300 W Expy 83 Suite 145, McAllen

I just finished having dinner there, and service is always mediocre, but tonight was by far the worst service of all time! They sat us fairly quickly when we got there. And there was a little rush going on. The restaurant was pretty full. They sat us, and our waiter didn’t come around for at least 20 minutes. When he finally did, he didn’t even introduce himself, just asked, “what do you want to drink?” 10 minutes later, comes out w the waters, drops them off and rushes off. Comes back 15 minutes later. During these 15 minutes, I decide to go ask the “BARTENDER” at the bar if the Cucumber Martini has actual cucumber puree, or if they use a flavored syrup. He doesn’t understand my question, had to ask another server what they make their drink out of. My question was answered, so I go back to my seat to order w my server. Finally, our server comes back, asks what we’d like to order, I ask if they have TOFU at the sushi bar, And of course, He doesn’t know, so he has to go ask someone. Ya’ll dont. – okay, so I just order yakisoba w/ veggies. And rice with veggies. Oh yeah, and I ordered that Cucumber martini w the delicious puree. Food came out at a decent time, But I never got the martini, I never got the rice w veggies. He asks later if everything’s okay.. I tell him what I didn’t get, but to just forget it.At this point. I’m just kinda in disbelief w the forgetfulness of this server. And final, when we get the receipt, we get charged for the rice I never got. I normally dont leave reviews. But this was just WAY TOO MUCH! The server not knowing about certain items, Taking forever bringing drinks, Not bringing certain drinks, Charging us items he never brought. Not bussing the table, Heck, I think the manger was the one taking our dishes back.. The” bartenders” lack of knowledge on items ya’ll serve all day every day, like a freaking cucumber martini. It was very disappointing experience. More than ever before. Definitely not going back.

Subway Restaurants – Menu with Prices – Little Creek Shoppes, 3858 E Little Creek Rd Space 21, Norfolk

Hated it went in with a good mood left without it. I went to order my sandwich and asked for my spinage to be added before it gets toasted [i like the chesse melted on it] to which the lady with the noes ring rolled her eyes i was confused but didnt say anything about it. She walked off and finished another customers sandwhich and when she came and set mine up i mentioned “the spinage will need to be covered cause it will burn” after seeing she placed it on its own side rather then under the cheese she snaps at me saying she knows and they dont ussualy do it this way then picked up all the meat and cheese and flopped them on the spinage side. I have PTSD from a incident in my teen years and at that point her snapping at me made my heart rate increase and i cassualy asked my boyfriend for the car keys to “get my phone” wich was just so i could go outside for a sec to calm my heart rate. Went back in and luckily he was done with her and handed me my cup i went over and was annoyed again seeing no tea of any kind i dont drink soda and reluctantly got viatamin water. Went to sit and eat unhappily i came in excited and happy to eat before going to the garden nearby but left in a less then happy mood i get it was easter and she probbaly didnt want to be there but the way she acts was NOT acceptable and made me not only have a episode but wrened my day.

Sebago Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 211 Fore St, Portland

This review is only for my “meal” today. I have been here a few times for work functions and the food and service is medium, and just about the best place in the area that’s not a typical chain restaurant. However. Today I ordered one of their specials, the watermelon salad. Ok. Maybe I should have asked more questions, but while waiting the host said it was great! And it was hot out. I also like watermelon. That’s on me. So, you’re telling me a plate of watermelon, a few small slices of prosciutto and basil should cost $11.50? A dollar less than your heaping salads? I’m so regretful for not ordering the falafel, chinese, or panzanella salads. Everyone at my table laughed at me. There was no greens, no carbs, no cheese. Just a big ol’ plate of watermelon. What a rip off! I didn’t want to embarrass myself or my colleagues by complaints. It wasn’t the servers fault (she was super sweet btw). But, You guys are making a pretty penny on us watermelon loving suckers! I’m putting this out there because I know you do exist, so resist! That’s a side dish at best. Not a meal. Thanks, but I’ll probably find another place to waste my money in the future. Better yet, take my $11.50 and go buy 4 whole watermelons.

The Library Tap House & Hookah Lounge – Menu with Prices – 134 W 2nd St, Reno

I literally just left this place. First off I walked in and seen a few people at the bar with drinks, and a guy talking to a female. I went over to the bar and waited about 3min for the man who was intially in the corner talking to the lady. He asks me for my id while talking to the lady the whole time. Then i ask for the hookah menu all while he is still having this conversation with the woman(as if me coming in interrupted his vibe). So finally I place my order for a house blend hookah, he walks to the back and has a part of the hookah. Then he stops dead in front of me and finishes his whole conversation. I mean he literally placed the piece of the hookah down put his foot on the back of the bar and just continued to talk. Im a woman of color and I dont know if the conversation was just that important to be that rude and disrespectful to me as a patron or if it had something to do with me being a woman of color that he just didnt want to service but if i could give 0 stars i would.

Quan’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 11148 142 St NW, Edmonton

Have come to this place a few times before and enjoyed it but they seem to frequently be out of things. Like the curry chicken noodle stew I tried to order today for the third consecutive time. Not available. Is it still on the menu? “Yes.” But not today? “Not today, we run out. Order something else” She’s clearly annoyed with my continued questions. It’s just after noon and in the early part of their lunch rush which is also their busiest time of day. I doubt they ran out. Reluctantly I order some pho which is not really what I want. It arrives a couple minutes later with no plate of sprouts, lime, or basil; a standard part of serving any bowl of pho. I ask for them and a couple minutes later it arrives, minus the basil. The purple stemmed Thai basil is a standard part of serving pho in my experience and I really like it. I usually use all of it in my pho. Apparently this too has run out. On a Monday. During the lunch rush. Right. I try a couple spoonfuls and decide, no, without basil I don’t want it and push it to the corner of my table, making it obvious I don’t want to eat it. Over the next ten minutes the two staff walk by it numerous times but fail to pick it up. *Update* The truth will out. I wrote the first part of this review almost 18 months ago but never posted it. Driving in this part of town again today I remembered this place and that there was some reason I wasn’t going to ever come back. Meh…. why not give it another chance. I’m hungry for some pho. Sadly, nothing has changed. Ordered some pho, it arrived 10 minutes later ( usually within five minutes at any other restaurant). No bean sprouts came with it but were provided when I asked. However, no basil, no lemon or lime, no chili pepper. When I asked about basil they said there wasn’t any. When I finally asked the direct question ” Do you ever serve your pho with basil? The answer: No. Never. Disappointed at this place yet again. At least they are consistent. If Vietnam has a signature national dish it is Pho and most Vietnamese restaurants are rightly proud of their version. The sum total of including the missing basil, a chili pepper, and lemon wedge to their service of pho cannot be more than 25-35 cents per serving. How this place can even call itself a Vietnamese restaurant is beyond me. Never again (again).

marias pupuseria restaurante Menu with Prices 1737 S Cooper St, Arlington

Please use GPS and have on your good eyes if you are a first timer because one could roll past it very quickly and miss it. The parking lot is a little tight but manageable. Very cozy on the inside. They have a television and a few tables. Our party of 3 walked in at a good time on a Sunday afternoon. We chose our table and the waitress gave us the menu. I read reviews online about the pupusas being amazing, so I ordered 4 of those bad boys. FOR ME 4 was too much. Each pupusa was a pretty good size and the flavor was good. I could have been good with 2/3 and a side. We also got the fried plantains with sour cream and refried beans. I didnt know people ate that together…but it’s an option lol. I put the beans on my pupusa but to each is own. The childrens chicken nugget and fries plate was PLENTIFUL for a child. Great food, portion size, & service. I just suggest the people cooking the food to PLEASE wear hair nets. PLEASE! I hate to knock off points for hair being in my food. The guy (not sure if he was owner) handled it right away and remade my order but I really dont like sending my food back and getting it “remade” for various reasons. Other than that mishap, it was a good experience.

Hide A While Lounge – Menu with Prices – 9469 Foothill Blvd, Rancho Cucamonga

What i need to say about this Bar is that at a random decision was made last night to ask me and my friends to leave . so the weekend before we where hanging out with no problem. So the reason why we where asked to leave is because we are bikers that are in the upper age of 50 and we where told up we couldn’t be in there because we had a vest on . and too top that off i dont drink alcohol and one other member is sober also . we stick too ourselves my friends where there long before i got there and they yes they do drink . they spent there money and they where having a good time .and just so you know . bikers dont look for trubble . 9 times out of 10 its a regular civilian that causes trouble we avoid it . this is a clear sign of discrimination based on how you look . if I walked in there with plain clothes would that change who i am i am a biker and i love my life this is discrimination at its best this is not a kool bar dont get kicked out because your wearing the wrong team color

BobaLust Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1701 Dock St, Tacoma

Here’s the short version – it’s easy to find, a little difficult to get to, good drinks, pretty good tapioca/fillers, and reasonable pricing. But don’t expect to get warmly greeted. You might feel out of place if you’re not big on social media or looking super instagram-able. Here’s the long version – it’s a very minimalistic type of environment, which by no means is bad! It’s a perfect place for a quick instagram picture and then to be on your way. The menu is easy to read, but doesnt give a lot of choices for customizing other than add ons – so you dont really know if its black/green/oolong tea. Walked in and was immedietly dogged/stared down by EVERYONE in the place, except the staff. Made me feel kind of out of place. Walked up to the counter to be greeted a by a, for a lack of better words, “Bro” – you know, the muscular, clean, cool looking guy you would find at the gym. Not a “hello”, not a “any questions about the menu?” – just a cool bro smile/smirk and “sup” attitude and a quick head gesture. So customer service is kind of on the low end, but it’s a tea place, not a deal breaker. Drinks ordered: the lychee lemonade and the legend of momo. Took a stroll to the bathroom and theres no toilet seat covers and no paper towels. On top of that – sorry to say it – it smelled like a bathroom you’d use at the beach (that old/stale urine smell). Otherwise – it was clean. Onto the drinks- the lychee lemonade was sweet and fresh BUT didnt have a hint of that sourness of lemonade. Like none. Tasted like sweetened lychee tea. Not the worst thing, but dont advertise it as lemonade if it isnt going to have the taste of it. Nothing special. Probably wouldn’t order again. The legend of momo was pretty good! The jelly and fruit bits were fun. I added honey tapioca to it as well. The honey boba was good – chewy, sweet, but there was a mix of some being cold like the drink and others that were room temp (not my favorite). Overall, would probably order this drink again. 3/5 stars. I wouldn’t go out of my way to get a drink here. I would probably only go if I lived close enough to walk or was already doing something in the area (like the glass museum). Drinks seem fun and cool, but they don’t seem all that mind blowing/special. The place definitely had a specific vibe that I didnt meet- but that’s ok. Not the place for me, but maybe for other people. Hope this helps!

Volcano Hibachi Express & Sushi – Menu with Prices – 12515 Jefferson Ave #400, Newport News

Food is good but the customer service sucks. Nobody said anything to us coming in. No one asked for our order done just started talking. The hostess/waitress was on her phone the entire time while ringing us up. When asking us about what side of rice or if it was take out she was quite and solemn like we were an inconvenience. We spent 50$ about for 3 meals and couple appetizers to eat in. Husband went to the restroom after getting fountain drinks. Waitress came up to me and very rudely said “1 drink is $2.75” and walks away so leaving my 2 year old son at the table I go and pay for 3 drinks the only size they have and spend 10$ more. So my two year old had a drink less than half full and I paid 2.75$ for his drink along with an adult size meal for $10. When my son spilled his drink, the waitress came up, swept up ice without saying a word and walked away as I was pilling napkins on top of each other to clean up the liquid. Definitely not going again.

Sugar Cubed – Menu with Prices – 531 13th St W, Bradenton

Not really impressed. Wanted a treat at work so was surprised they had a delivery option. Chose it and placed order. Ordering was very confusing. They need to improve if going to continue. I wanted an assortment of cookies and they had a box option and discounted if bought by dozen. It would not however let me choose the cookies so i opted for an assortment. I only got 3 different flavors even though the menu showed more. It also doesnt state that certain cookies are not discounted. Example the macarons. Had i known they dont consider these a cookie and therefore dont qualify for the cookie box that discounts the price. And website stated that discounts were available if a dozen ordered. I found this out through an email stating they were charging my card an extra amount. Had website been more specific i would have changed my order. Also tjought cookies were very greasy and extremely heavy tasting and a bit dry. The grease soaked through the box. Didnt really expect that. Overall not much flavor and didnt expect the white chocolate macadamia nut ones to have coconut. It should be part of description. Overall experience was disappointing and wont be back. If you continue to offer online order please take a closer look at it it needs a lot of improvements
