This place, I wish I could vote more than five stars. As someone said, this is a gem that’s hiding and is waiting for all to discover. I wanted to purchase some treats for work and was there first thing in the morning, oh am I happy I did. I was able to get first dibs on their goodies and was able to happily get an assortment of whatever I wanted. They had things from fresh pastries to an assortment of breakfast foods. I took the goodies to work and almost wished, no one touched the pastries that were screaming out to me. Every time someone looked in the box, I hoped they didn’t touch several of the ones I secretly wanted. Of course, they did! The young lady who assisted me while there, kindly cut the pastries into three’s so everyone had a fair share of choosing. I had several gluten-free coconut cookies and those were for two of the ladies at work, who are gluten-free. Even those were a hit, I was happy to be able to get something just for them. What others ate, they raved about. Never had they raved about our Friday breakfasts, so this, when I have a bit to splurge, will be my go-to. Notables: Coconut Cream Pie- Say what?! Excellent! Pecan Bar – Oh man, oh man. Delicious! Vegetarian pastry – I never thought a vegetable and cheese filled pastry, could taste so good. Those are the things I was able to taste, but again, everything was a hit with the group. I can’t wait to go back!

WHOS Gluten Free – Menu with Prices – 80 Mallory Ave, Jersey City

My mom was diagnosed with celiac in the ice age. Okay, maybe not the ice age, but she was diagnosed by Dr. Haas. Anyway, I told her I was taking her to a gluten free cafe and she got SO excited. When I looked up the distance, I could have sworn it said only 2 miles away and we were like, oh, no big deal, we’ll walk… well, 4 miles later we finally got to Whos Gluten Free. Opps. The staff at Whos Gluten Free is Fantastic. We walked in at 3:30 and the staff informed us the kitchen was closed because they close at 4. Oh. They had some broccoli soup still. We bought a whole bunch of goodies and the soup. The soup was delicious, nice and hot and with gluten free croutons! The goodies. Let’s forget about the gluten free part for a second. That nutella sandwich cookie. wholy Whos! (Yeah, I went there). That cookie was amazing. This is also the FIRST time in my LIFE I could share my desserts with my mom. Everything we got was so good. It didn’t even taste gluten free! The staff was so friendly, nice and accommodating. My mom can’t wait to go back! She already has her next “to try” items picked out. She wanted to go back the next day, but she said she would settle for at least a few days. And not to worry, next time we plan to be there bright and early, and not right before closing time.

Dish Gourmet – Menu with Prices – 1918 Pearl St, Boulder

We used Dish twice for our wedding weekend. Dish catered our rehearsal brunch to a park in Longmont. They were really easy to work with, willing to communicate via email for extra ease, and gave great advice about what to order and how much. The food was incredible (frittata, quiche, pastries, potatoes) and guest were really happy. Dish also catered brownies for our reception. If you haven’t tried their brownies…do! They have a slightly crispy outside and gooey inside. They are rich, real chocolate! They provided many different kinds (coconut, cherry, peanut better, m&m, etc) and even macaroons for our dairy free/gluten free guests. They did an incredible job for a reasonable price and I would use them again and again!

Mrs. Williams Diabetic Delights – Menu with Prices – 3466 S Decatur Blvd C, Las Vegas

Still going strong and as great as ever! I absolutely LOVE this place! I follow a low carb, low sugar lifestyle and Mrs. Williams gives me my sweet fix without all the guilt! I practically live here because of the delicious sugar free goodies, and even my sugar-gobbling friends love the baked goods here. The store itself is in a decrepit, run down shopping center next to a Church’s Fried Chicken and some Asian “massage” parlors, but don’t let that scare you! Inside the tiny shop you’ll find a large case of chocolate candy (be sure to stop by at certain times of the year for special Valentine’s Day, Christmas and Easter candy; they even stock sugar free chocolate Easter rabbits / jelly beans for your Easter basket), a case of fresh baked goods and pastries, and other assorted sugar free candy / snacks (sugar free Pop Rocks? YES PLEASE). There’s a lot of sugar free goodness packed into this tiny space! I usually load up on the sugar free cheese pockets. These are flaky pastries with assorted sugar free fruit filling (try the blueberry and raspberry) and a cheese filling. The turnovers are good too (large, flaky pastries with SF apple or cherry filling), as are the almond filled bear claws. There are sugar free brownies, muffins, assorted cookies, napoleons, and chocolate eclairs! Yes! They are fresh and flaky and filled with a dense, rich, sugar free cream! There’s also a wonderful assortment of sugar free pies, cakes, cheesecake, and individual mini pies. The selection changes daily, but there are always lots of tasty options. Prices range from $2.95 for a pastry up to $15 to whole pies. A real bargain for diabetics and those on diets. Mrs. Williams fresh-bakes all of these goodies so if you are lucky and get there early, you might get a fresh-from-the-oven-and-still-warm pastry! Note that some of her popular baked goods sell out quickly, especially on the weekend. If there’s something you have your heart set on, call ahead and place a special order. Mrs. Williams herself is often working the counter so be sure to say hi! She is the sweetest lady and is so friendly! And make sure you get a pink punch card and get it stamped. Each time you make a $10 or more purchase, you get a stamp. Fill up the card (after 10 stamps) and you get $10 off your next purchase! Score! You can also get a free drawing ticket once a week for the weekly pie drawing. If your ticket wins, you get a free whole pie! And watch out, you will most likely be munching on your boxed goodies before you even leave the parking lot. My car has tons of tell-tale crumbs all over whenever I stop here.

Viena Do Castelo – Menu with Prices – 857 Sargent Ave, Winnipeg

Horrible experience!!!!! Staff very friendly but thatâ??s all they can offer. The place extremely dirty, food not well kept, pastry the worst. This establishment does not reflect at all our country costumes in terms of homemade goodies. For those we rated this place higher than 0, they do not know at all what food/pastries are. I would never go back, I had to throw out all the pastry. They should consider to specialize on Portuguese food/pastry, cleanness, as theyâ??re given a very poor name to our country.

Fleur du Jour – Menu with Prices – 603 St Clair Ave W, Toronto

This quaint little French patisserie was recently opened by a nice couple who lived in France for many years. Upon walking in I was greeted by the the wife who was happy to walk me through the selection of little cakes and pastries that they offer. She explained that her husband was trained as a pastry chef in France. When I arrived at 4:30pm, they had a limited selection of cakes and an even more limited selection of croissants. I opted to purchase the Rocher (similar in appearance to a Ferraro Rocher except made with almonds), the donut tatin (a beautiful pastry that looks like a donut with a gorgeous caramel glaze and apples and pastry crust inside), a passion fruit cheesecake (one of the gluten free options), and a butter croissant. The donut tatin had a nice crunchy pastry crust and apple filling. However I found it much too sweet for my palate. Perhaps if less caramel was used or the white chocolate stripe around the finished pastry was eliminated, this would be a better in my opinion. The passion fruit cheesecake had a lightly sweet, milk chocolate and crispy rice cereal base, a tart passion fruit gelee centre, and a creamy cheesecake dome with a generous drizzle of the same passion fruit gelee. Although also on the sweet side, I appreciated the tartness of the fruit flavour which helped balance the creaminess and crunchiness found in the various components of the cheesecake. The butter croissant was light, flaky and delicious. Sadly I was looking forward to trying their almond croissant. Although I didn’t get to taste the Rocher, my in laws tell me it had a similar puffed rice/chocolate base with a chocolate and mocha mousse that was overall less sweet than the donut tatin. The cafe seats 11 people (including 3 child sized chairs at a children’s sized table). While it lacks the polished packaging of other established bakeries and lacks the wow factor in physical space, the pastries and cakes stand up in terms of appearance and flavour. I also appreciate the gluten free options (which seems atypical for a French patisserie) and the focus on seasonal type ingredients whenever available. On weekends they carry savoury pastries and a limited selection of full sized cakes. I will definitely be back as it’s only slightly off my home bound route from work, as I’m very interested in trying their almond croissant. 3.75 stars

Hurts Donut Company – Menu with Prices – 8809 State Line Rd, Kansas City

I can’t even begin to describe the elation I have for gluten free Friday donuts! These are probably the best gluten free donut I have had, and I’ve been sensitive to gluten for 17 years…and have lived all over the US. No other GF donut compares. I went on a Friday around 1pm, they had ten GF donuts left, I bought one of each flavor. Fruity pebble Birthday cake Reese’s peanut butter Reese piece Andes mint chocolate chip The dough has the real texture of a donut, it’s not overly sweet like Emily Kate’s and not dense like most GF donuts. We had a hard time not eating all of them in one night. They would be good just as a donut with no topping or as an elephant ear ( also known as a funnel cake) For those sensitive to gluten in the air, this is not the donut for you. They do clean and change their oil but they make gluten filled donuts all day every day so it’s not 100% GF facility.

Trung Nam French Bakery – Menu with Prices – 739 University Ave W, St Paul

Went to Trung Nam French Bakery this morning for breakfast for croissants and Banh Mi’s! (Prices are estimated because I can’t remember) Deluxe Bahn Mi – $6.50 My Rating: — It comes with extra meat and seriously so delicious. The bread is baked fresh, so the inside of the French bread is literally so soft and goes so wonderfully with the crispy outside. Buttered Croissant – $2.50 My Rating: — So so delicate and soft Coconut Croissant – $2.50 My Rating: — I didn’t really taste the coconut flavoring, but I’m just not a fan of coconut flakes in general, however it was very soft and decadent Blueberry Croissant – $2.50 My Rating: — I love blueberry everything and this completely hit my sweet spot soooo well. It was so soft and fluffy, definitely exceeds a 5 star rating to me lol. Hours: 8AM-1PM Mon-Sat– Come early as this bakery is open during bakery hours of business, so they will run out of pastries at any given time. Cash Only! Overall Experience: — I would recommend this to friends and family. I’ve never been here but have received pastries from here by my siblings when they would go during business hours. Please bring cash as this business only accepts cash. They do have a sit down area in which is free for patrons to seat themselves and dine in, however there are more people who order and leave right away. The customer service is great, I think they are very great about informing people if they have ran out of a particular flavored croissant and suggest that people can call in to make those orders at their next visit so that the flavored croissant of choice can be saved. As I sat and dined in, I noticed that though the environment may not look as appealing, the customers were all very happy and excited to bite into their pastry. I personally feel that this bakery really gives off a happy-good morning vibe, they understand that everyone is in a rush to get to work and come in for a quick pick-me up. This was my husband and my first time here on all of our years living in MN. Definitely coming back for breakfast soon!

Black Dog on The Square – Menu with Prices – 567 Industrial Dr, Tallahassee

Black dog is absolutely amazing in all aspects possible. The owner is the sweetest lady ever that makes great conversation. Bring your pup and get a treat for him/her. If you get the chance to go and they happen to have their ginger beer kombucha, do yourself a favor and get it. This is by far my favorite kombucha ever and I wish it was a permanent menu item. Aside from their life changing kombucha they have amazing goodies. They have small lunch items, pastries, popsicles. They have it all. They are super vegan friendly as well. They have an assortment of alternative milks and vegan goodies. The baristas are so sweet and give great recommendations if you ask. Black dog is a great place to meet up with friends or study. They have wonderful patio seating and offer free WiFi. Black dog is by far one of my favorite coffee shops in town.

Jersey Mike’s Subs – Menu with Prices – 15901 Antioch Rd, Overland Park

I have been here several times since they opened, mostly because I have one kid that is obsessed with it. He has nothing on his sandwich except ham, provolone, and pickles, but I’m pretty sure he could eat it daily. So there must be something about it that he really digs. I will say, the service is really quick, staff is always very friendly, and they have a punchcard to reward me for my loyalty, which is always a huge plus. And, they offer gluten-free bread, which is a huge bonus. They also carefully prepare gluten-free items in a separate area, which for some people is very important. They do charge extra for the gluten-free bread, which if you get the half sub, will get you about a $9 or $10 sandwich, which seems a little pricey to me but I guess if you’re gluten-free, you’re used to that anyway. If you’re not gluten-free, don’t miss the chocolate chip cookies. They are pretty spectacular.

Gluten Free Concepts – Menu with Prices – 3420 SE 21st Ave, Portland

WOW WOW WOW!!! I have never had better gluten free bread than Jensen’s bread. I accidentally discovered it on a recent trip to Napa, CA. Cafe Sarafornia offered gluten free toast. At first I was hesitant as I have had every imaginable miserable attempt at gluten free bread. I am happy I an persistant. WOW was I ever shocked and pleased. Even if this bread wasn’t gluten free it would be a stand out. My favorite so far is Multi-Grain & Seed Bread. My tastebuds were dancing!! Fast forward a week. I’m back home on the East coast and craving this amazing bread. Being an Amazon Prime member, I think I can order it via their website. No such luck. I search high and low. Nothing. I contacted the bakery via their FB page and the rest is history. I am desperately trying to get it to the east coast!

Brown Cup Cafe & Lounge – Menu with Prices – 401 N Coast Hwy ste e, Oceanside

The Brown Cup Cafe & Lounge has been one our favorite go-to cafés in Oceanside for the past year. Ever since we discovered this quaint gem of a lounge, my fiancée and I tend to gravitate here almost every morning. Located right on the 101, Brown Cup is run by a very friendly and humble staff. You’re greeted as you enter and service is always attentive. Their menu may seem limited compared to other spots, but they specialize in their items and whether it’s a pastry or beverage, they put plenty of love & care into each. They’ve got CBD teas, gluten-free pastries, plenty of coffee and some cold drinks as well. The decor is very new-age, Indonesian-inspired and has plenty of space for the solo patron or small groups who just want to relax and socialize. From the couches up front, to the work benches in the back, there’s ample room to sit down and do work from your laptop in a quiet environment. It’s always clean inside and the atmosphere is very peaceful and I highly recommend coming here to do work.

Panaderia La Sonrisa – Menu with Prices – 2617 E 11th St, Tulsa

My sister and I came here the first time to get a con leche cake for my Dad’s birthday. The cake was so delicious and moist. I remember that we wanted the cake to say “dad” in a heart and the man who helped us was so nice about our strange request. We came here again yesterday and got an assortment of cookies, donuts, and pastries. Our favorite was the donut and the pink cookie. The sprinkle cookie was good and the pastry with strawberry were just alright. Although it doesn’t look like much from the outside I would highly recommend giving it a shot. Yum!!! I’ll be back.
