My wife and I had a few hours between when we checked out of our Airbnb and when we need to head to the airport, so we stopped in at Thomas Hammer for a drink. The interior of the coffee shop is well-lit and spacious, especially mid-Monday afternoon. My wife ordered a strawberry fruit breeze blended drink, and I chose the Ice Hammer (blended mocha drink). Unfortunately, they “were out” of some ingredient in the Ice Hammer (seems to me like all of the ingredients would be pretty standard), so I got an iced blended Jack Hammer (chocolate, cinnamon, and honey). This drink was chocolatey and refreshing, and I enjoyed the hint of cinnamon. My wife really enjoyed her drink too. This was a good place to get a cool drink on a hot day, and is probably also a good place to get a warm drink on a cold day. If you are looking for a coffee shop in downtown Boise, I would definitely recommend Thomas Hammer.

Green Light Coffee – Menu with Prices – 600 Leopard St, Corpus Christi

Shop small and shop local! My first visit was back in May. I needed a spot close to my location to work on online homework and Google brought me here. I’ve continued to come back, when in town, since. This coffee shop is downtown which is great to see more businesses making their way to that area. They have tea, coffee, and small delicacies. The shop itself is small but the ambiance is cool. It has different art work every time I come, plays different music genres such as Electronic, Pop Latino and Jazz and its design is modern. I enjoy every visit. I’ve seen the same 2 or 3 baristas and they always make it a point to engage in conversation and welcome you upon entering it. It makes me feel part of a community :”) What they offer is very well priced and they’re always adding new menu items! I follow the Instagram account which persuades me to visit again and again to try new drinks they post about. The latest is the Breakfast Frappe. It consists of cold brew, almond butter, cinnamon and a couple other ingredients. It’s a bit on the sweet side, but very enjoyable and blended to perfection.

Sweet Treat Kingdom – Menu with Prices – 20050 Bluecreek Ridge, Katy

The honey cake was a success! My wife loved it and it was delicious! I’m glad they don’t standardly sell it any bigger because I don’t know that my pancreas could honestly deal with that much rich, deliciously sweet goodness. Fair warning though, you MUST love honey. How it went down: I called in to get a cake for my wife’s birthday and was greeted by the owner/co-owner (?â??) of the shop. He was very nice and aimed to satisfy, so he answered every question I had and then some. I tell him I’m coming in within 30 mins or so. I make my way over and I’m greeted by their employee who started to show me a cake (he thought I was someone else) and so proceeded to realize I wasn’t the guy he thought I was and so he told me I could wait while he finished up with his customers. I did, he wrapped up and he asked if I wanted a coffee or something. So I ordered an iced latte and I waited a good 15-20 mins to actually be helped (this was the part I wasn’t really a fan of, but it had more to do with the employee’s disorganized nature than with the bakery’s main line baked goods or cakes). Finally, the main man gets out of the back office and he gives me some ultra personalized attention and focus. He pulls out cake for me to try (the chocolate cake tasted stale, but the honey cake was dope AF). I was set to jet and so decided on getting the honey cake and was on my way out the door shortly there after. Took some Kolache, sampled a sweet kolach and took a mini chocolate mousse cake on my way out, too. The Kolache were aight (strong eastern European flavor, particularly with the heavy corriandor and other spices of that sort) and the bread wasn’t the best I’ve tried, but it’s far from terrible. The sweet Kolach was delicious. The chocolate mousse wasn’t really up my alley, but my wife enjoyed it. All in all, I’d check em out for their honey cake, sweet Kolache and coffee. Those 3 were on point and are worth your time alone. Everything else is just bonus.

Thomas Hammer Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 330 E Desmet Ave room 115, Spokane

I like taking advantage of this über convenient Thomas Hammer coffee location when I’m on the Gonzaga campus for business classes. The coffee shop is located within the Jepson Center Student Centioli Lounge on the lower level. They are open on M-Thursday weeknights until 6pm so I can grab a quick decaf pumpkin spice latte before night class. I noticed some tasty looking breakfast burritos and scones as well; so on the nights that I’m hangry I have options. Don’t try to go here on Saturday or Sunday as they are closed in this specific location. Bonus tip- I was delighted to see a hidden small patio with a nice river view tonight. Future study spot here I come!

Tellers Coffee – Menu with Prices – 111 W Monroe St, Chicago

New coffee place inside the BMO Harris Bank building. They have really cool, mid century modern decor with great coffee. It looks like they serve coffee from several Chicago roasteries. I definitely saw Big Shoulders. The iced latte I got was one of the better ones I’ve ever had, and the menu consisted of the standard coffee drinks. Service was a little slow, but I think that’s just because they’re very new. Far better option than a standard chain coffee place.

Perk Up Espresso – Menu with Prices – 3238 Lancaster Dr NE, Salem

This place almost always forgets to make my drink soy, or iced (they usually mess up and do blended). I used to love this place, but now their coffee taste burnt. I go to Starbucks every day for consistency. It is sad. Such a nice little shop.

Bitty & Beau’s Coffee – Menu with Prices – 4949 New Centre Dr, Wilmington

This is the cutest local chain coffee shop there ever was! I am in love with a good coffee, but a good coffee with a mission behind it? Sign. Me. Up. Not only is the vibe exactly what I want in a coffee shop, it’s got good coffee. Bonus! This one is a little hard to find because you look like you’re going to go and buy a Cadillac at first then you realize the coffee shop is next door. Once you figure out you don’t need to purchase a car you can breathe easy and get your heart pumping on caffeine. This space is so clean, bright, and white. I want to sit on my computer and work all day in there. The employees are the nicest and so upbeat. I ordered a chocolate muffin and a brown sugar cinnamon iced latte with almond milk (no soy). The coffee was good – too sweet for my taste but the name sounds sweet so I get what I asked for. I am interested in buying some coffee beans once I’m ready for more and can’t wait to brew it in the pour over!

2Ten Coffee Roasters – Menu with Prices – 3007 Montana Ave, El Paso

Stopped in looking for a nice study spot and I surely hit the bullseye on this one. I could’ve/would’ve stayed until close if I’d not forgotten my computer charger. First let me say it’s a super cute/trendy coffee shop. I wasn’t quite sure what I wanted to drink. Since I was going to be studying here, I needed to get a feel for the temperature inside. Usually if it’s chilly inside, I’ll order a hot drink and if it’s comfortable, I’ll get an iced drink. This is just because I’m usually always cold but the temp was perfect inside for an iced drink. The employer recommended the honey latte. Oh emmmm geeee!!!! Let me tell you, it would be difficult to convince me to order anything else whenever visiting here. Even more impressive is the fact that their roaster is RIGHT there. I actually enjoyed watching whatever it was doing overall great vibes at this spot. I’ll be sure to return and have my charger with me this time so I can spend a full day here studying! Thanks 2Ten!

Paradise Donuts – Menu with Prices – 9675 Riverside Pkwy, Tulsa

I have tossed around the idea of doing a donut tour of the Green Country area. I started close to home & worked my way outward. This donut shop is just south of 91st & Riverside. I have a standard order, blueberry cake & chocolate cake/chocolate icing. I was here late in the morning so there wasn’t a large selection . This was partly why I went late, as well as checking how fresh the donuts were outside of peak hours. They had my standard blueberry but we’re out of my standard chocolate/chocolate. I chose a cinnamon & sugar cake donut for my #2. The blueberry donut was the best blueberry donut I have ever had. The cinnamon & sugar donut, also excellent. I will go back with my guy. I did notice the apple fritters came in 2 sizes. 2 reasonable, realistic sizes. Wow! So simple, yet thoughtful. The calories, sugar & carbs for these enormous fried morning Kryptonite normally leave me sluggish and flu like symptoms for days. No matter where I purchase them. I usually have my husband in tow who doesn’t mind to much that his wife will want a bite from the very center. I believe that if enough people request something enough times, their local donut shop will carry fritters in a variety of sizes…if not, these guys already are doing it! I had never even thought about it untill I saw the Momma Bear and Baby Bear size fritters. This fritter idea made these guys go from 4 stars to 5. This is before I have even eaten the fritter! Can’t wait until next Saturday! I went back again with my Guy & then a 3rd time & finally a chocolate/chocolate cake….wasn’t worth the wait. Those blueberry ones, man they were bangin! Still want to take my grand kids for the fun ones!

Heart and Soul Coffee – Menu with Prices – 930 11th St, Modesto

Little brother wanted some coffee after having lunch. He recommended this place that is downtown. The ambiance was cool. Love the open space. I ordered a hot mocha and my brother ordered a different drink. Think it had the name of lumberjack latte but I could be wrong. The drinks were made fast but one issue. The girl made me an iced mocha and not a hot mocha. Oh well let’s run with it right. I’m actually glad I did. This iced mocha was good. Just the perfect amount of sweetness. If I had to do it all over, I would Order a non fat iced mocha. In the end, the screw up turned out to be a blessing. Thanks for the great iced mocha.

Regent Coffee Roasters and Brew Bar – Menu with Prices – 249 N Brand Blvd, Glendale

This review is based strictly on my order of their iced mocha latte. First, you can tell a lot about a coffee shop from the mocha they use. I was pleasantly surprised that they make their own mocha, that is ALWAYS a plus..better than disgusting fudge chocolate that other places use. Second, I was greeted by a barista who was sitting on the counter. Like, that’s a tad bit weird for me. So my iced mocha actually tastes decent, which means their espresso beans are of high quality. Problem is that I feel like I am drinking a latte with chunks of chocolate. They clearly did not melt the chocolate, nor did they try to dilute it in any shape or form into the beverage. It’s so bad that my straw is clogged with chocolate pieces. Kinda gross. If they could just figure out how to perfectly add the ingredients together this place would be on the top of my list (maybe top 10, nowhere near top 5). The oat milk that they use is not my favorite either. Oatly is by far the best oatmilk in the market so I get annoyed when coffee shops don’t carry it. Also, way pricier than other places—and I am usually okay with paying top dollar for good coffee- this just wasn’t it. *UPDATING my review based on speaking with the owner*- Pretty happy that the owner reached out to explain the issues I discussed. I love small business and I support them 100%. This isn’t my local coffee shop so it would be unfair of me to write them off from one “unfortunate” experience. I do hope to go back and try the mocha again.
