This place was recommended by the staff at the Metro Diner on Broad Street, as I was looking for something a bit more substantial to eat for breakfast that morning. I am glad that I followed up on the recommendation; the experience was wonderful! Not only are there choices on the menu that are different from the usual breakfast fare that you will find at other places, but everything was prepared well and the service was exemplary. Our waitress Nisha told us that this is a family-owned business that has been open for almost a year. From the decor to the obvious attention to customer service, the dedication by all these folks shows. The restaurant is small but cozy, clean, and lavishly decorated with murals on the outside walls. There are flower pots and a swing on the porch in front, even including railroad themed restrooms. As it is located on the corner of 6th and Green Streets, it is quite literally right beside the tracks as the railroad crossing sign in front of the restaurant indicates. I can’t recommend this place highly enough for breakfast or lunch – they are closed for dinner. I will certainly be back!

Sister’s On Main – Menu with Prices – 307 S Main St, Rockford

The service at this place is way above average. All of the servers, especially Carissa, do an excellent job of making you feel welcome, and taken care of. The restaurant is very clean, and we decorated, including the restrooms. The food… Well, that’s where this place could use improvement. The breakfast sausage seems to be pre cooked, and tossed on the flat iron when you order so it tastes like leftovers. The scrambled eggs are always scorched brown. If you ask for them so scramble them soft, they come out way too runny. There’s no in between. The burgers are cooked very well done, so there’s no juiciness left in them. I could easily rate this place 4 stars if they just learned how to cook the simple things that they have on the menu. It’s home cooking done wrong.

Sips Espresso Cafe Menu with Prices 1390 Prince Ave, Athens

Cute local coffee shop. They often don’t have enough staff (maybe 1, sometimes 2 employees), so there is sometimes a bit of a wait if the person in front of you got a fancy drink. The blended drinks are made from a pre-made mix, so if you want them less sweetened, you don’t have that option. But if you don’t mind that or just want a good cup of coffee, then this is a great stop. The location is great: right in the heart of Normaltown. I can usually find parking right next to the building. The best part about Sips is the outdoor/porch area. It’s the perfect spot to meet a friend and enjoy the sounds of town or just relax with a good book. It’s the next best place to your own cozy front porch.

K Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 401 E 8th St, Sioux Falls

This restaurant has the absolute freshest ingredients. We had the Cuban sandwich and the shrimp bowl. Absolutely fantastic. People are extremely friendly and service was excellent. We brought the dog along and they brought a bowl out of water and treats for him as well. It’s on 8th and railroad center in Sioux Falls and it is a must stop. Don’t miss it it’s at the end of 8th & Railroad Center again it’s at the end of 8th & Railroad Center don’t miss it. You will not be sorry that you stopped.

The Chow Hall – Menu with Prices – 5706 E Emory Rd #5704, Knoxville

Today was my first visit, spotted this little gem on my way to my favorite winery. Small place but charming. Had a pretty Christmas tree decorated in a corner of the restaurant. Limited menu but what I ordered was so delicious. I have to be gluten free so that means no bread, buns or rolls, I had the Philly cheese steak, super tender beef, tender onions and red and green peppers, perfectly seasoned to my taste. Topped with 2 slices of American cheese melted. I had to omit the hoagie roll. They also serve up 1/2 pound burgers. I also had some French fries that were very good. Opened Mon thru Friday 11 to 8 pm and Sat 8 to 1 pm. Hope to try them for breakfast one Sat. in Dec. The portions are big and prices are fair. The walls are filled with photos of Veterans so it has a homey, nostalgic feel to it. The restaurant was slow today, (more carry outs) so after my lunch, the proud owner showed me around the photo gallery of walls.

Croissants Bakery & Bistro – Menu with Prices – 8014 N Kings Hwy, Myrtle Beach

Croissants is our favorite whenever my family visits. Itâ??s the place they want to go first for breakfast or lunch! We waited out on the porch swing with coffee drinks. It was a short wait for our table. As always, we enjoyed a great breakfast with Kyle, our server. My daughter and I both had the California Benedict, while my son in law had the huevos rancheros. Everything is prepared so fresh, made to order, and presentation is mouthwatering. We also had espresso drinks, a mocha latte and an americano which were prepared to perfection. Our server was attentive, not intrusive. And the atmosphere there is always nice and relaxing, where you can visit and converse with your table mates.

Cafe Makario – Menu with Prices – 2625 Colby Ave suite 2C, Everett

Exceeded my coffee shop experience! Small, dark, very well decorated, it was definitely worth a visit. Experience is even better when you have your two best friends with you! The owner was very meticulous about making cup taste to your expectation and looking beautiful! We ordered the flower latte, peppermint mocha, einspanner and a small order of waffles. The drinks were so dreamy! It was the perfect level of sweetness. The chocolate shavings on the einspanner is to die for! As for the flower latte, it was definitely a different order for me. It was my first time trying a flower latte, but I would definitely order it again. If you prefer a sweeter drink, I would suggest the peppermint mocha or einspanner because with you can definitely taste the espresso in the flower latte vs the sweetness, which I personally enjoy more!

Pink Coffee – Menu with Prices – 2334 W Buckingham Rd #210, Garland

If you come to take pics for the gram and aren’t into coffee, then come. The pink concept is well shown through out the store and with out a doubt is super cute! The have a really nice flower wall that’s great for pictures. On the other hand: If you’re a coffee person, this is really only for the aesthetics. The coffee options weren’t great and I would’ve thought they would have like a ‘pink’ themed signature coffee or something but it was just basic choices. They did have a wide selection of desserts that weren’t displayed in the front so I had no idea until I went to see the famous flower wall, and some where the line starts (we got a brownie along w some ice cream) When I walked in, there was a girl who I smiled at and said hello to, and in return she looked at me, turned the other way and walked to the back, didn’t see her for the rest of my time here. The other guy who was there didn’t notice it was our first time and just stared impatiently at us as we looked through the menu. When my friend ordered he made a smart comment about the coffee but whatever, maybe it wasn’t a good day at the pink cafe. Overall it was cute to look at but the service was eh, and the coffee nothing crazy, ice cream was alright, but the desserts were pretty good.

802 Bean Company – Menu with Prices – 802 Brookline Blvd, Pittsburgh

It’s a very cozy coffee shop, with a few extra comfy chairs, a fish tank you can stare at as well as an iguana (if i remember correctly) that sits in the front window. And occasionally he brings his dog in which hangs out on the back porch where more comfy chairs are hidden away in addition to having a nice view of the hillside of homes and having a nice place to escape to.

Fogbelt Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 1305 Cleveland Ave, Santa Rosa

6 of us for a lunch and brewpub crawl. Monday afternoon so not a lot of people doing it. This one is easy to find and has a good parking area. . The bar area is in the middle with dining tables surrounding it on the periphery. Most patrons looked like they were on their lunch hour and sat at the bar. We found a table for 6 in the corner. Service was quick and friendly. . The dining area, kitchen, bar and restrooms were clean. The restrooms are out the back door and apparently shared.. We all sampled a beer or two and then ordered lunch. As seems to be typical these days, lots of IPA selections on the menu. The beer was good and the food was very good. . For 4 of us, lunch plus a few beers, I threw out $100. I would go back.

The Crum Box Gastgarden – Menu with Prices – 602 Industrial Dr, Tallahassee

My favorite place for a bite during a night out in Railroad Square! Although humble in appearance, Crum Box Gastgarden serves up some of the best food in Tallahassee! They’re the epitome for me of a “hidden gem”, tucked away in Railroad Square in an unassuming old railroad caboose, but step inside and order for a big surprise! Their homemade sausage packs a flavorful punch, especially if you spice things up with their jalapeno sausage. Their regular sausage is always a charmer, but the spicy jalapeno is the real winner for me. The meatball sub is also a favorite a mine, layered in cheese and with homemade meatballs and marinara sauce. Typically, I add in their mac & cheese and sauteed onions or sauerkraut as my sides/toppings on the sausage, but there are a few others if those aren’t your thing. The owner Pete is always friendly and great to chat with while things are cooking. Whether you like it spicy or mild, they consistently put out delicious food. I could not recommend this place more for a night out in Railroad Square!

Benny’s Bagels Lakewood – Menu with Prices – 1901 Skillman St, Dallas

SCHMEAR all day errday. Breakfast bagels are literally served 24/7. Parking is a beez, but these bagels are bomb. I knew I had to get their breakfast bagels. I wasn’t sure what they were known for, but you can never go wrong with a breakfast bagel. Schmear was the name of the game, and I honestly had no idea what was in it. I was expecting some sort of jacked-up cream cheese, and I was right! I enjoyed a salmon schmear on a jalapeno cheddar bagel. The bagels were so tender and fresh. That’s the way to do it! I was very pleased with my bagel. They also had fresh-squeezed OJ, other beverages, and other items like sandwiches for sale. I liked that I could watch my order being made at the same time as the bagel maestro in the back was laying out the bagels to broil in the oven. They have a single-room restroom which was clean, but there was water dripping through from the ceiling. I was getting dripped on while I was using the restroom and while washing my hand. I had no idea whether or not the water was clean or where it was coming from, so that was a bummer. You can tell a lot about a food spot from the way they take care of the restrooms. Service was kind–the sweet guys who take your order and build your bagels work as fast as they can. It took me a while to get my order and pay at the cashier because the person in front of me had a mix-up with their order. That’s alright though because I was in no rush. There isn’t a lot of seating indoors, but that’s all that they have since there is nothing outdoors. It’s a little strip plaza with a lot of other stores, so it seems like most people ordered to-go to enjoy elsewhere.

Muze Coffeehouse – Menu with Prices – 100 3 Ave SE, Calgary

Stopped in on a Saturday at 3pm. Completely stumbled on this place by accident! Noticed a sign pointing down stairs and followed it to a basement that was beautifully decorated and clean with a distinct Chinese theme. The artwork, the friendly service… I was overwhelmed at how helpful they were and learned they opened on Valentines Day and serve traditional baked bao. They have the usual bakery items- egg tarts, butterfly cookies, coconut bao, hot dog bao, rolled cakes, etc. I had an incredible butter bao where they use a slab of salted butter and wedge it in between a warm soft, bao with a sugar crust that was not too sweet. It was seriously like licking fresh butter. If that turns your crank, tell them you want this. It actually was not in the cabinet but I think they baked a fresh batch in the oven and I happened to be in the right place at the right time. I cannot wait to go back here! It’s quaint, cozy and completely unexpected. A real gem. Don’t judge a book by its cover…. it’s on the corner underneath a restaurant. Please help them out and spread the word. I really hope this business takes off as I believe in their product- at least the 3 bao’s I tasted…between the chocolate lab around the corner and this place, Chinatown is quickly luring me back!!! Do be patient as they are still figuring out the payment technology but language is no barrier here. After speaking to them, they simply want to see Chinatown revitalized by keeping old traditions in more modern spaces that draws both old and young alike!
