Rogue Chef is one of the more highly regarded food trucks in the Bend area. They have a reputation for putting out good food. Currently parked at The Bite in Tumalo. – Fish n chips (special): well-prepared if a bit greasy. Fries (chips) are the thin variety and also well prepared. Love the dipping sauce. – Burger, basic: Solid burger, well cooked, tasty. The bun is OK. Not the best burger in Bend but maybe the best from a truck. All in all, I agree with the consensus on Rogue- good stuff. The Bite is not one of my preferred food truck pods however.

Lucibello’s Italian Pastry Shop – Menu with Prices – 935 Grand Ave, New Haven

I am a huge cannoli lover and am always looking for my next favorite. I’ve always preferred the ones with lots and lots of chocolate chips and therefore was skeptical upon first glance of Lucibello’s. One bite was enough for me to realize that liking the cannoli for the amount of chips was wrong, because Lucibello’s cannoli was outstanding simply for the freshness of the shell and the flavor of the filling. The crunch of the chocolate chips was completely satisfied by the crunch of the shell (although it does have chips throughout the filling, just less than I’ve usually preferred in the past). They were also a great size – not too large that they’re hard to eat and not too small too be disappointed. We got two cannolis and a bunch of cookies and I was surprised it didn’t cost more than it did – around $12 for everything. Definitely will be going back to satisfy my sweet tooth!

BurgerIM Uptown Cleveland – Menu with Prices – 11419 Euclid Ave, Cleveland

This is a great addition to University Circle Uptown! I feel like the area has been needing some type of burger joint or grubby American food that didn’t follow the Chipotle style fast customization. I recommend getting the duo, or a trio if you’re up for it. I tried the lamb and grilled chicken and they were both great burgers with great portions. You can tell it is a quality burger. The lamb is a lamb patty, and I ordered a medium well that was marked for well done (the 2 options) but I still thought it was very juicy. My friends tried other patties including beef, crispy chicken, and salmon. The consensus was that everything was solid, full of juicy meat and flavor. Also the fries are interesting, I would recommend trying them out. They’re like poofy french fry potato chips. It’s one of the few places in Uptown I’ll be drawn back to! The service was also great and attentive, which I usually don’t notice or expect at a non sit-down restaurant. Our cashier came and took our food away once we were finished and multiple people came in to check on us. Everything was spotless. You have to try it out!

Testy Culiacan – Menu with Prices – 1238 Crows Landing Rd, Modesto

On our way home from Bend, OR and I needed a fish taco. So, I turned to yelp to find a great one. Wow! We were quite impressed. I’ve eaten my share of fish tacos and this rates right up there with the best. Ok, it’s a taco truck, but it works for me. The fish was cooked perfectly, the slaw and sauces were delicious and it was freshly prepared. My husband got the shrimp quesadilla and it was equally as good. Lots of shrimp, delicious sauces and it was really big. We ate it all. If you like food trucks, better give it a try.

Cosa Sabrosa Menu with Prices W Stadium Blvd, Ann Arbor

The tacos from this place live up to their name: tasty thing! On a recent food truck night, I carefully perused my options before deciding on Cosa Sabrosa. I was in the mood for spicy Mexican food, and the small street tacos that I could mix and match promised to give me just the right amount of flavor without skimping on satisfaction. While it was one of the longer lines of the night, it went quickly, both for placing my order and for the food being prepared. I grabbed it at the window with a side of salsa, then sat down and prepared to enjoy my meal. Perfect temperature, texture, and flavor mingled in a taco that was just full enough to only threaten to fall apart with each bite, but managed to stay together to the last tasty morsel. I probably wolfed it down more quickly than was elegant to watch, but nobody ever said eating tacos was supposed to be tidy. I’m already salivating over the next food truck rally, and you can bet your bottom dollar where I will be grabbing my dinner!

The Chicken Bandit – Menu with Prices – 211 W Jefferson St, Syracuse

Spotted the food truck in a plaza amongst other food trucks in the plaza and the Chicken Bandit looked to be the most professional. I ordered the grilled chicken sandwich (Bandit seasoned), the truck made chips with bandit sauce and it was the best Chicken sandwich and chips I have had in a while. Their Bandit dipping sauce pushed it that much further. I couldn’t believe the quality and taste coming from a food truck.

Maki Of Japan – Menu with Prices – 4125 Cleveland Ave, Fort Myers

This counter ordering restaurant is located inside the Edison Mall at the Food Court. The service ordering was quick and easy as they have a pretty basic menu. Chicken, Beef, Shrimp or Veggie with a few sides offered. The meal took a little longer to wait for mainly because it seemed to be cooked to order. The rice and veggies are ready but the main item is cooked to order. Drinks are your basic Coke offerings through their fountain. Meal was hot and relatively tasty. Beef was cooked fine but the teriyaki sauce could have been a little more infused with the beef. But then again it is food court food so not that bad considering.

Himalayan Bites Menu with Prices 1424 NE Cushing Dr, Bend

Up here for my son’s annual lacrosse tournament, and the thing to do while in Bend is going to a microbrewery or tap house after our games are done. This time we ended up at On Tap. It’s a great place that’s very family-friendly and they have a wide selection of beers plus, as seems to be the norm in Bend, they have food trucks; one of which is Himalayan Bites. Wanting something different, I ordered the Shaapta which is a spicy stir-fried beef dish tossed with green onions and bell peppers, seasoned with a variety of Himalayan spices and red pepper, and garnished with fresh cilantro. The dish comes with a nice salad with a vinaigrette dressing and a scoop of brown rice. Included with the meal are two dipping sauces. One is much like a salsa and the other seemed like a cilantro cream sauce. I’m not sure, but I preferred the cream sauce. It was wonderful. BTW, if you like spicy food like I do, when they ask you how spicy you want it, tell them to make it really spicy. Otherwise, they’ll probably dumb it down. When I asked for very spicy, the guy asked me how hot was the hottest I’ve ever had, and when I described a Thai basil chicken I’ve had in the past, plus a Habanero/Scotch Bonnet pepper sauce that I make that has 50 to 60 peppers per quart. He just smiled and said that I’ll really like this dish then. I was not at all disappointed. Though the pepper heat was not that strong, it did build up over time to a pleasant burn. And hey! What better way to soothe the heat than with another beer! The Pilsner I had with my meal was a perfect complement to the dish, but I really loved it with the IPA. The bitterness of the hops really brought out the sweetness in the peppers. Without needing to say more, I highly recommend this truck if you’re over at On Tap. I heard they’re also at Crux, so if I happen to go there, I’ll try a different dish. I don’t think I can go wrong with Himalayan Bites.

Mulas Food Truck – Menu with Prices – 10211 Golondrina Dr, Laredo

I love burgers and I’ve been wanting to try this food truck for some time and now that they’re at the Golondrina Food Truck Park close by I had to try them out. The service is great. I ordered the Al Pastor Burger because it sounded good. They put it in this neat to go box that opens up into a plate, sort of like the Chinese food takeout cartons. I was quickly surprised though by what you get, don’t get me wrong it’s probably the right “portion” to eat, but normally I would expect more at their prices and just because it’s from a food truck. If you’ve had San Antonio food truck burgers you probably know what I mean. Now I can overlook the size but then was also surprised it was a bit bland, I had to put some coarse salt & pepper which normally I might of put pepper on a regular burger, but specialty burgers I like to taste as made. Overall it’s a decent burger, something different and they have a few other interesting burgers to try.

Detour Deli & Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1/2, 510 Red Cross St, Wilmington

So, while visiting Flying Machine Brewery, my husband and I had the opportunity to try the Detour Deli food truck. I was delighted to see that they offer vegetarian and vegan options. Out of the three tasty sounding sandwiches, we both chose the tofu bahn mi. It was a large sandwich, layered with firm tofu, crisp veggies, and a siracha mayo sauce. One could choose jicama over tofu if they wished. So good that I ate the whole thing! Detour Deli food truck also had chip offerings. My husband chose the dill chips, and I was in heavenly hell with those habanero chips. Service was friendly and fast as well. Just writing this, I am jonesing for another sandwich and hot chips! So, Detour Deli, keep making the brewery rounds. Can’t wait to see you again and try another delicious sandwich!

Encore Rouge Menu with Prices 1116 5th Ave N, Birmingham

been instagram stalking this truck for a while and i finally was able to catch it at good people brewery friday night for dinner. i got the spinach dip and the 10 piece wing with fries and a sprite, $17 and some change. a bit pricey. my friend ordered the chicken alfredo and spinach dip with a water and got the same total. the spinach dip was great. hands down some of the best CHICKEN spinach dip i’ve ever had. the drawback here is that i asked how much cheese you get. she showed me a 6 ounce container cup with a lid. however when i received my order it was a basket of chips covered with cheese sauce that was NOT six ounces. not only does this method leave you with chips covered with cheese on the top but it leaves you with chips that are untouched on the bottom. i was called to bring my chips back when i started eating because they forgot to put chicken on it. they just placed a few pieces of cut up chicken on top… (sigh) the wings were great. juicy, filled with flavor, cooked to perfection. the fries were okay too but i wasn’t crazy about them. the chicken alfredo was disappointing. i tasted this at the yelp event earlier this year. when i tasted it, it was more of a bake. however if you order it at the food truck it is a circular tin filled with pasta noodles, dried with cheese and topped with large piece of chicken. if you don’t mix it yourself, you’ll end up getting bare noodles. even then you don’t have enough sauce to coat the amount of noodles given. the truck is definitely worth trying again but make sure you are SPECIFIC in what you want, otherwise you might be disappointed

The Blacksmith Restaurant Menu with Prices 211 NW Greenwood Ave, Bend

We had a great meal here except a few minor missteps with the food. We came on a Friday night, visiting Bend for my fiancé’s birthday. Very fine dining feel, which is exactly what we were looking for. To start, I had an old fashioned and he had a margarita, both were well poured and the margarita particularly was excellent. We had the cheese plate for the appetizer, and it was hands down the best cheese plate I have ever had. It came with several delicious cheese selections, a fruit spread, grilled bread that had the slight charred taste I love, and these amazing candied almonds. They also have delicious complimentary bread and a house made dipping sauce that was a balsamic and olive oil base and several other ingredients. It was fantastic. For our entrees, I had the pork chop, which was delicious (I do prefer bone in though and it wasn’t), came with these really yummy thick polenta fries and brussel sprouts with bacon. The pork chop was cooked perfectly. My fiancé ordered the tender rogue which was a delicious tenderloin, cooked well, but besides the steak this plate had some problems. There was too much blue cheese atop the steak and with truffle potato sauce and the balsamic sun chokes and leeks that surrounded it; they were super delicious but far too rich. For dessert, we ordered the bread pudding to go and took it back to our hotel. It was the best bread pudding I have had in awhile but we did not care for the candied bacon it came with. Felt too much like breakfast. Really good though besides that. Great service and we really had a top notch dining experience here; we will be back for sure!!

UKirk Tallahassee – Menu with Prices – 548 W Park Ave, Tallahassee

You all called a tow truck to tow my car after I parked in your back lot for about 45 minutes. Your parking lot had a little over 5 cars in it and could hold probably 50 cars (so border line empty). Luckily the tow truck driver was more of a Christian than whoever called the tow truck was because even though he was already towing my car out of your abandoned lot he put my car down and said, “You have a blessed day”. So, just here to say shame on you all. Why you may ask? Because you have a sign out front that says you all believe in God. You almost cost me, a college student who was actually interested in your little coffee shop and was thinking about going soon, $200 for parking in your lot with NO ONE IN IT. I would understand if it was packed and your employees or patrons couldn’t find parking because I took a spot. Sure, call a tow truck because that would be rude and unreasonable of me. But there was NO ONE in your parking lot. I was a worship director for 2 years in the methodist ministry and worked for 3 different churches. Never once did we call a tow truck for someone parking in our abandoned lot on a week day. I love it when “Christians” do unchristian things that there is absolutely no reason for. Makes me wonder what the persons thought process was that dialed that number for the tow truck. Anyway, here’s one star because that was incredibly unwelcoming and unchristian of you. I’m not pretending to speak for God, I just think theres a basic standard of Christianity that believers should strive to live by, as Im sure you would agree. Maybe next time you will give someone a while longer to come get there car. It’s not like you were jammed packed. It was doing you absolutely no trouble being there for 45 minutes. Thanks Presbyterian church, I hope whoever called the tow truck thinks a little longer about their phone call this morning and what kind of message that sent me about your “Christian” building. Have a blessed day.
