Beautiful venue and I love that everything is already decorated. My husband and I live in SoCal and our family is from Fresno so this worked out perfectly for us… so we thought. However, whenever my husband and I would go in to meet with them and ask questions about certain things concerning how the wedding would look like on the day of, we always got unconfirmed answers and they always told us they’d confirm with the manager and let us know next time. Every time! We met with them 4 times and each time we were left uncertain. We travel 6 hours each time to meet them and we’re left with questions? That’s a no-no right there. A month before my wedding I was suppose to have everything FINALIZED! I was suppose to have a “Final Meeting” (as stated in their contract) to finalize the details but that never happened. The lady who I was suppose to meet with (Stacey) couldn’t make it so I had to meet with a different worker there. I was still left with question marks everywhere and I wasn’t able to pay off the venue because of it. 2 weeks before my wedding I email them again about my concerns and paying off the rest of the venue and they inform me that the lady who’d been “working” on my wedding (Stacey) was let go. But no one let me know if this?! It’s 2 weeks before my wedding and “I” had to contact you in order for you to tell me this?! I was furious! I was finally able to finalize the details of my wedding within the week but everything was chaotic! I had a certain vision for my wedding but because I was never told the full details of their policy I had to change everything around. At one point the manager got very frustrated with me, which I can understand since I kept changing things around, but in my defense they never updated me about my wedding, I had to change the whole schedule of my wedding 2 weeks prior to it, and I felt that in my case they should’ve been more flexible given the fact that they were in the wrong. During my set up time I had to ask them over and over again about details of my venue since it did not look like what we had agreed on. My tables were mixed up, there was no room for the caterer, and I did not get “a sign outside the building with the bride and grooms names showing guests where to enter.” Even on the day of our wedding I was told by the manager that the bar would be open at 2pm (the time the guests arrive). My husband and I arrived at 3pm and my maid of honor came to tell us the bar was not open until 4pm?! That was not what we agreed on. After talking to the people at the bar they finally opened the bar to our guests. Very unprofessional. I do not recommend this place. Spend your money elsewhere. It’s not worth the frustration.

Sifted by Cyndi – Menu with Prices – 3840 Lemon St #128, Riverside

Disclaimer: we didn’t hold a wedding here, we simply took a tour and had some preliminary wedding planning discussions about this being a prospective venue for our wedding. My fiancee and I toured Loft 84 and LOVED it as a venue to hold our wedding. The property is absolutely gorgeous. So many small touches that make it a special place. Historic, vintage, classy, all the points we were looking for in a venue for our special day. Unfortunately that’s where the positives stopped. After our tour, we needed a few weeks to discuss some finer points and hash out a few details, plus save up the money to make a deposit and hold our date. Once we were ready, we reached back out to Cindy, one of the owners who had given us our initial tour, in order to place our deposit and move forward with planning. Cindy replied that she’d be out of state on vacation on the weekend in question, and asked if we’d be comfortable meeting with her staff for the appointment instead. We replied that we would prefer to meet directly with her since we’d had our tour with her and she had given us pricing the last time we were there, plus we were totally unfamiliar with any of the other staff she wanted us to meet with, so we offered up some alternative dates that we could come by and meet with her when she was either back from vacation, or before she left. This was nearly two full weeks ago, and we still haven’t heard back from Cindy. She clearly doesn’t want our business for whatever reason, which is a real shame and a total letdown. We were SO EXCITED to finalize our venue choice with one we truly loved after our tour, but now, given the two-week delay in reply to our request to make an appointment to put our deposit down, we’ve decided to move on to another venue. A wedding is a large expense, with so many details involved that’ll take so much care and attention to detail, so for an owner of the venue to basically blow us off when we had a check ready to go to make our deposit and book the venue, we were really put off and disappointed. I get that vacations are a thing–by no means am I saying she shouldn’t take vacation or anything of the sort. But to leave us totally in the dark for weeks on end after we committed to putting down a deposit and holding our wedding date, we felt was totally unprofessional and a harbinger of bad vibes down the road during our wedding planning and our wedding date itself. So be careful booking with Loft 84–if they’re too busy to meet with us just to book our date and take our money, God knows what it’s like dealing with them in crunch time in the weeks and days leading up to an actual wedding being held there.

The Music Box Village – Menu with Prices – 4557 N Rampart St, New Orleans

Oh man! Thank you to Music Box for letting Austin and I use your space for our wedding. This venue is magical! Our guests had the time of their lives playing music on the structures. It is also just a beautiful space in itself. Austin and I wanted a venue that was not your typical wedding venue and we got it. Thank you to Alita who got this plan going. Alita met with us on multiple occasions to go over what the venue offers and she set me up with the amazing staff to continue coordinating the wedding. Syd, you are above and beyond! Syd came in close to the end of planning but made it seem as if she was there the whole time. She was ultra supportive and really listened to Austin and my vision. She took time to set up a run of show plan and when it all went down, it was PERFECT! Syd is truly a genius at her job and could not have asked for a better coordinator. Thank you to all of the staff that went in to making the wedding happen. So grateful for everyone involved. If you are looking for a wedding venue, Music Box is the place to go. You and your guests will not be disappointed. Most fun we have ever had! We will definitely be back for a show!

The Ebell Club Long Beach – Menu with Prices – 290 Cerritos Ave, Long Beach

Wow, where to start? We had the pleasure of working with Sharen for over a year and a half from the time we toured the venue up to our wedding day and she’s the best. She was available to answer all our questions whenever we needed her. She helped us navigate the process of customizing our menus and desserts, and gave us ideas for making the venue a reflection of us as a couple. My husband was able to drop in to the venue as needed to check the sound system (since we did our own music), plan our processional, etc. thanks to Sharen being so accommodating. Since we worked with her for so long from booking to wedding day, she really felt like she became a friend to us. As for the venue, it’s just as beautiful as the pictures make it seem. The process of wedding planning is stressful enough, so having a venue that’s already meticulously decorated is a blessing. We really didn’t have to bring in too many outside decorations and you can tell how much thought and effort the owner puts into the decor. And don’t even get me started on the food. There’s always that fear that when you do a tasting, the food won’t be as good the day of due to the volume that has to be put out. Not true for Tres LA. Our guests RAVED about the appetizers and dinner. We were even able to special order a couple vegan meals for the guests who required it, and they both remarked that they’d never been able to eat so much at a wedding before and loved their dish. The fact that we were able to add our own appetizer, Cuban sandwiches, as a nod to my husband’s family, was really special. The serving staff was great. We were attended to all night with our own dedicated server making sure we always had a drink and food. The rest of the staff was just as good, efficient, and professional. I can’t stress enough what an amazing wedding day we had thanks to everyone at the Ebell.

The Athenaeum – Menu with Prices – 551 S Hill Ave, Pasadena

I live in Manhattan where there are a lot of private clubs, both affiliated with schools and not affiliated with schools, mansions and just a plethora of venues. The Athenaeum is not quite up to the level of what you would find on the East Coast but is as close as good as you are going to get for the West Coast. I came here for a wedding and this venue is optimal for a classy and intimate beautiful wedding with a guest size of around 150 guests. Any more and you should find another venue that is larger and can accommodate more guests. Pros of this venue are the great backdrop for taking pictures, a beautiful venue to entertain your guests, the exclusivity of having to bring a member to do a wedding here, the venue only doing one wedding a day here, being able to do the wedding rehearsal and lunch on-site the day before the wedding (they have both a lunch buffet and menu option), and my personal surprisingly favorite part, the amazing mezzanine for the bridal party and mother of the bride and groom. You can retreat to the mezzanine to get dressed which is better than any hotel room as their are multiple mirrors, toilets and lots of couches which make it possible for a large group of women to all get ready at the same time if they want. The mezzanine was also great to retreat to between activities and even has a dining table area where the bridal party can eat before the wedding or during the cocktail hour. Cons of this venue was the rather mediocre service from the staff during the wedding. I asked for a champagne glass for the toast and they acted like they would oblige but they never brought. I ordered coffee and it never came and I couldn’t enjoy it with the cake. They were rather stingy with the wine for dinner and only came around once. It was open bar but with the bar being set up in another room so far away from the reception area it actually makes it difficult and discourages guests from ordering drinks. The venue did not seem to be holding up their end of the bargain in terms on delivering on the experience the bride and groom had paid for their guests. You also absolutely need a wedding planner and your own staff of wedding coordinators if you do your wedding here. The staff here are quite hands off and this is really more a private faculty club. The dance floor is also too small if you want a lot of dancing at your wedding. Overall though I enjoyed the wedding I attended here and think it is still a great choice for couples who can afford this venue and are members and can have their weddings here.

Nothing Bundt Cakes – Menu with Prices – 5300 Kingston Pike, Knoxville

I ordered Nothing Bundt Cakes as catering services for my wedding. I placed my order in Feb. of 2019 and my wedding was in Sept. 2019. The price was reasonable for how many bundtinies I ordered along with a delivery fee. I advised that my wedding was on a Sunday. I called maybe 2-3 weeks prior to confirm my order and make sure they would be there. They confirmed with me my date and they would be at my venue for the delivery that morning. On my wedding day, they never came to deliver the cakes. I was unable to contact them since my wedding was on a Sunday and the next day was a holiday. My planner knew the franchise owner and contacted her immediately. My money was refunded within the same week. The issue was resolved, but I was dissatisfied with my service. We had a family friend make us a full cake, and if she didn’t we would not have had dessert for the guests. The franchise owner did call my directly with an apology and told me they would refund my family friend for the cake she made. She contacted her and is refunding her for the cake she made.

Tasteful Connections Inc – Menu with Prices – 1 Whipple Ln # 1, Rochester

We used Tasteful Connections for our wedding in June 2014, and I cannot say enough good things about them. First, the food was AMAZING, from the hors d’oerves to the main dishes. They were able to create a menu unique to our “backyard garden party” style wedding reception: a menu that catered to vegetarians, Kosher guests, and everyone in between. Everyone raved about the food for months after our wedding. The best part of Tasteful Connections, though, was the staff: they were extremely helpful and flexible. When my husband decided two days before our wedding that he wanted craft beer at our reception, Michelle worked with him and my brother to find a selection within our price point. My husband and I planned our wedding by ourselves (without a wedding planner) from over four hours away, and we couldn’t have done it without Michelle and her team. They worked with our tent rental company to make sure we not only had enough tables and linens, but that everything was set up in the best possible way. They came out to our wedding site (in the Finger Lakes) to meet with the site owners, my husband, and me, and they made sure everything would be perfect. Everyone was so professional, and they ONLY made me feel relaxed about my reception–never stressed or worried that it wouldn’t be perfect. Do not look anywhere else for your caterer: Tasteful Connections is simply the best.

Charity Fent Cake Design – Menu with Prices – 3534 E Sunshine St suite f, Springfield

CF Cake Design was recommended to me by our wedding photographer. I was told that if I wanted a beautiful and delicious cake, that she is the best. My (now) husband and I met Charity at a wedding expo for our cake tasting â?? we decided to go with a white cake, triple berry filling, and buttercream frosting. I wanted a clean and classic look for our three-tiered cake with champagne and white colored gum paste flowers for the top. A month or so after our tasting it was time to decide on the flowers for the top of the cake. My (now) husband and I had recently visited Charleston and fell in love with Magnolia Plantation while we were there, so we knew we wanted at least one of the flowers to be a beautiful magnolia blossom. My absolute favorite flowers are peonies, so I requested that as our other flower â?? I wanted them to be a beautiful champagne color to match our wedding colors. Charity suggested that I also pick a filler flower to fill in any spaces that would be left on the top of the cake, so I chose hydrangeas. Several times I made it clear that I wanted both the magnolia and peonies to be the main flowers on the top of the cake, so if the cake size needed increased to accommodate both, that would be fine. I was reassured that the current cake tier sizes would be sufficient, so the flowers and cake remainder were paid for and we waited anxiously for our wedding day to arrive. Our wedding day arrived and our ceremony was beautiful. We had hired a wedding coordinator to set-up our reception venue, as we didnâ??t want a family member to stress over such details. When we arrived at the reception venue, our wedding coordinator met my husband and I outside and informed us that everything was set-up and beautiful, but there was an issue with the cake. We were told that Charity had informed our coordinator that both the magnolias and the peonies were too large for our top tier of the cake, so Charity had made the decision to use only the magnolia and hydrangea flowers â?? and both were plain white. Needless to say, I was extremely disappointed, but I tried to not let it ruin our day. Whatâ??s upsetting is the fact that we still had to pay for all of the gum paste flowers that were used, even though none of my beloved peonies were used on the cake. I will note that the cake was very moist and delicious. Itâ??s too bad it did not have the aesthetic appeal that we had requested for our special day.

Livin’ The Pie Life Menu with Prices 2166 N Glebe Rd #2211, Arlington

After reaching out to several local bakeries to inquire about wedding cakes, finding Livin the Pie Life was a gift from the wedding planning gods. I tired very quickly of sampling sessions with cover fees, the extensive questionnaires about my color schemes, and price minimums ($800+) of local bakeries for a wedding cake. And, let’s be honest, pies are better anyways. You get more flavors, meaning that there is literally something for everyone! I took my parents to Livin the Pie Life one day with the intent of buying some slices for us to sample. We met one of the owners, Heather, and told her that we were interested in buying slices to sample options for my wedding. To our surprise, we emerged not with slices but ENTIRE PIES. She gave us 3 (!) to sample for our wedding. After a couple of bites of each, we were all sold on the necessity of having Heather’s pies at our wedding. The rest of the process was super smooth sailing. Heather recommended 10 pies for our ~70 guests, but we went with 11 pies to have a bit of wiggle room. (And in case the cousins really loved the pies…which they did! It wasn’t all bad to have some pie leftover for post-wedding consumption either.) We paid the deposit and pie price in full, including a very reasonable delivery fee to our local wedding venue. Heather subsequently coordinated with our venue directly, removing us from the picture, but ensuring that our pies were baked and delivered on time. We chose 3 fall(-ish) flavors: caramel apple crumb, pumpkin praline, and s’mores. We added one s’mores pie as gluten free to accommodate several guests. All of the pies were AMAZING, and our guests LOVED sampling them. We had the easiest time working with Heather and the best wedding desserts in the greater DMV. Can’t wait to head back for more pies soon!

Tri-County Barbecue Catering Inc. – Menu with Prices – 832 N Queen St, Lancaster

This company just catered my wedding, and for 2 weeks prior on, we didn’t even know if we were going to HAVE them cater. We had them booked for months, and 2 weeks left before the wedding we had heard nothing from them. We called countless times with no response, emailed with no replies. The few times we did get them on the phone, the guy in charge would always say he wasn’t in the office, and we should call back later. But again, no response when “later” came. Finally after weeks of trying, we were able to get him the information we needed to. Yesterday, at my wedding, the food was scheduled to be served at 5:30. Firstly, their team finally arrived at 4:15, which was 15 minutes into my wedding ceremony. It was a big distraction. Secondly, because they were so late, the food didn’t get served until after 6:00 pm. Because of that, we had to put off other scheduled events, which created a lot of chaos. After they made the food, which they didn’t have enough of for everyone (110 people max.) they left. Hours later, during the reception itself, they pull their truck right onto the grounds and go to my new wife, still in her wedding dress, and ask her for the money to be paid. Right in front of our guests. HIGHLY unprofessional.

Cameo Cakes – Menu with Prices – 2403 W 13th St N, Wichita

The flavors are nothing more than your typical supermarket box mix – they’re not bad at all but they’re not gourmet either (however you aren’t paying for gourmet so it’s okay). I do feel though that corners were cut on the groom’s cake but obviously there was nothing we could do about it because we didn’t know exactly what the cake looked like until it showed up just before the wedding (to be more specific – we agreed to text being piped on with icing but instead an ugly screen print was placed on the cake in lieu of the icing – an ugly shortcut). The wedding cake was pretty though and pretty close to what I originally wanted. We had to tweek the design a few weeks before the wedding though b/c they’re somewhat limited in decorating skill. I was originally told that gilding could be done and then was told it couldn’t be during my final design meeting – so frustrating! Overall not bad for the price but definitely not a magazine cake. You get what you pay for.

Firewall Food Stop Menu with Prices 1546 Ralph David Abernathy Blvd SW, Atlanta

I used Firewall Food Stop for the catering at my wedding in March, and could not be happier with how everything turned out. The reception venue had a place for Food Truck parking, so we had them bring the truck over, to prepare and serve the guests at our wedding. The food was delicious, and we have heard nothing but rave reviews from the guests that attended the event. Sam provided an awesome buffet line, as well as wood fired pizzas for the main course (cooked on the truck). The buffet included their specialty sandwiches/hummus/veggies/appetizers, so guests could eat some smaller dishes, while they awaited their pizza orders. Our wedding had approximately 130 guests in attendance. With that many people, the main issue we wanted to avoid, was prolonged waiting times for pizzas. Sam’s planning and expertise ensured everything went off without a hitch. I would HIGHLY recommend using them for any/all catering needs! They are the best!

El Riad Shrine – Menu with Prices – 510 S Phillips Ave, Sioux Falls

My now husband and I just used the El Riad Shrine as our wedding reception venue and we absolutely loved it and would recommend it to anyone! Joel is such a great person to work with during the planning process. He is very quick at responding to any questions and was always willing to work with my work hours if I wanted to go in for a visit or to see someone else’s wedding setup. They are such a flexible venue and able to accommodate large crowds with the spacious layout but definitely be sure to book early! We booked over a year ahead of time and got the only weekend they had available left in September. They have décor you can use if you’d like, they provide the linens for you, they provide a wedding coordinator to help manage delivery and setup with your vendors, they provide a bartending staff, you can bring in whichever caterer you would like for food.. I could go on and on. There are so many great things about using The Shrine as your wedding venue. You could even use the stage and get married there as well and they have a great dance floor! They really were an all-around great group of people to work with. We had the Clown group bartend at our wedding and they were an absolute blast! They were willing to do whatever to make sure we were happy with our experience there and we most definitely were! I would 100% recommend them to anyone for their wedding and am so thankful we chose them for ours
