Storming Crab – Buffalo NY – Menu with Prices – 4125 Maple Rd, Buffalo

Finally made it to storming crab.. when first pulling into the parking lot I thought there would be a huge wait time but we only waited about 7 mins, thank goodness, they had a lot of parties that were huge and I was only a party of 2. While waiting I signed the wall and talked to the hostess who was very friendly and had good conversation. Once seated our waitress came over right away to take our drink orders and gave us the complimentary bread. The bread was quite tasty and full of garlic, I could have eaten 1 more slice of it.. So my ordering experience was nothing like I imagined. I assumed that my bill would be so high and ridiculous but I was willing to pay it just to get what I wanted. I’ve seen a lot of people talk about the prices and I’m glad that I went for myself to see how it really works. So, you are able to substitute certain items for other items in the combos that they offer (I believe you can substitute any of the seafood but you are not able to substitute the sausage). Also, the market price value isn’t too high and you don’t have to purchase anything by the pound, you can order items in 1/2 pounds. I have provided pics of my bill and my friends bill just to give everyone a better idea. I ordered a whole lobster and 1/2 pound of crab legs with the garlic butter and mild heat. It took no time to receive our meals and the waitress placed the bibs around each of us (which I thought was great customer service). I opened my bag to what I thought would be heaven. I had never tried a full lobster but I’ve been watching Mukbang on YouTube and thought I would give it a try. My lobster seemed to be Overcooked, the tail was so chewy and hard to chew. The claws were just okay, I feel like the lobster gave me a bad taste in my mouth. Not sure if it was the lobster or maybe the mixture of everything I had. I haven’t had a chance to eat my crab legs as of yet but I will update my review when I eat them. The Garlic butter is extremely strong and the garlic really hits you, I feel like my food still has too much spice to it, even tho I asked for mild. My friend had 1 pound of crab legs and enjoyed every bit of it. I said I would go again and try new butter but I wouldn’t have to rush there any time soon.

The Crabby Shack Sandwich Shop – Menu with Prices – 154 Clinton Ave, Brooklyn

I ordered the lobster roll, Shrimp Po’ Boy, Crab/ corn chowder, and the bananna pudding. I would have given two stars but the delivery was fast and the Banana Pudding was one of the most delicious desserts I’ve ever had. The 20 dollar lobster roll had a claw and then like claw meat and shredding various meat, no lobster tail at all, seems like they cut open a bag of lobster meat that’s pasteurized that I can buy in the supermarket and used that instead of steaming lobster then taking the meat out and prepping batches in that way. I wouldn’t order it again. The Shrimp Po’ Boy was perfectly fine and what I expected, no complaints here! The crab/ corn chowder: I was expecting a thicker base and more like a corn chowder, this was like watery N.E. clam chowder with corn kernels tossed in. I would mention the crab but there was none in there, maybe like crab broth was used in making the stock for the soup but there was no discernible crab in it. I’d rather they just raise the price 4 bucks or 5 bucks and actually have some crab in it. The bananna Pudding: Good GOD THAT WAS TASTY AF! I’m not a sweets type of person but was in the mood for a little sweet and the portion is perfect for someone who just wants a lil’ something and the pudding with the vanilla cake like small cookies in there along with some slices of actual banana, was heavenly. I’d order from them just for the dang Banana pudding it was so good! Delivery: place is pretty close to where I live so I wasn’t expecting it to take too long and it was quick and everything was what I ordered so no complaints there.

Highland Fish Market – Chenoweth Square – Menu with Prices – 3941 Chenoweth Square, Louisville

If you’ve read any of my previous reviews, you’ll know I’m a big seafood fan. Growing up in Florida, I can’t seem to get enough. Which is why I’m so happy the locally owned Highland Fish Market exists here in Louisville! This small shop has a great looking selection of fresh fish, oysters and even live lobsters! We came in looking for lobster tail and crab legs, and went with their frozen two 4 oz. tails for $19.99 ($17.99 deal online), and snow crab legs for $11.99/lb. After the four crab leg clusters and two lobster tails we purchased, our total came to $36.05 after tax. I’ll take it! In store, you’ll also find a great frozen selection as well, with crawfish tails, oysters, mussels, etc. So much of which our local grocers don’t offer. They even have specialty olive oils, sides and dips you must check out! Perfect stop if you’re hosting a gathering, as many things are already prepared and ready to go. Highland Fish Market also offers online deals on a ton of different seafood selections, from cuts of fish, to crab legs, to fried oysters, and SO MUCH more. Always check their online deals before heading in! You can even order in advance online and select your date for pickup in-store. The staff definitely knows their stuff when it comes to the products they offer. I’ve always had a friendly and positive experience with the folks who own and operate Highland Fish Market. I’d be a more frequent customer if the prices weren’t out of my budget, but I suppose it’s the price we pay in a landlocked city ? Looking forward to cooking up our lobster and crab legs!!!

Raw Bar by Slapfish – Menu with Prices – 19694 Beach Blvd, Huntington Beach

Came here for the happy hour of course and left with not really thinking I’m going to come back. The happy hour menu and price changes every 30 minutes starting at 4pm until 6pm. We came at 4pm so everything was $4 on the happy hour menu. The service here was below average, their was only one server running around and when the restaurant started to get a little filled up, you could see her getting stressed out. Food would come out at random times, we ordered a lobster toast that we had to continue asking about and ended up asking for the check before our toast even came out. For the food, we got 2 lobster toasts, 2 fish and chips, 8 oysters, and the steamed clams. The lobster toast was basically a slice of bread toasted with lobster meat, delicious and in my opinion the most fairly priced item. The meat was seasoned perfectly with a nice sauce as well. The fish and chips were pretty good, the fries were a nice fry but the beer battered fish stole the show. Each order comes with 1 fish and a small handful of fries so I’m not sure if $4 is worth it for this item. The oysters were highly disappointing, orders come in 4 and when we got there they were offering F.P. And Paradise oysters. Both were very milky, and not oysters I would want again. The clams were not apart of happy hour but we got them anyway, they aren’t very big but you do get a lot. They were decent, cooked in white wine with garlic and fennel. Not something I would get again. Overall the $4 happy hour is a smart idea but the dishes are quite small so to really fill up, you gotta spend a lot more than you would think.

Crab Fever Nashville – Menu with Prices – 1907 West End Ave, Nashville

I was craving crab legs so bad so i looked at a lot of reviews for crab boil/steam pot style restaurants and found Crab Fever to have amazing reviews…..so we headed there on a Friday night. The atmosphere is adorable, very nautical, the service was excellant, which is why I hate to give it an average review. My son ordered the Lobster cajun pasta, the lobster was very rubbery and the sauce was too overwhelming but it was a nice size portion, warning – the lobster comes in the shell…….I ordered a crab boil, it had snow or dungeness crab and Alaskan King Crab, i ordered that more expensive one because I wanted the King Crab, unfortunately it was such a horrible texture and taste, the worst I’ve ever had…..the other crab was delicious and perfect! The mussels or oysters, i forget which one it had were abnormally large and rubbery and did not taste good….the clams were great and i didn’t eat the crawfish because i don’t like the looks of it and since i am from ny I did not grow up eating it and I cant get into it……they pour the whole bag on the table, I asked them to keep mine in the bag afraid it would be to messy…..we did have the fried calamari as an app and i can tell you it was the best i have ever had…..so this place is hit or miss…..i feel like the quality of the seafood is subpar and that is what makes it just an average meal….i have had better shellfish at Joe’s Crab Shack……our bill was $100 and that is too much to pay if the food is not awesome, hopefully they can invest in better quality shellfish and improve the quality because this place has potential!!

The Juicy Crab – Menu with Prices – 2205 Pleasant Hill Rd, Duluth

I have heard time and time over again that this is the place order seafood boils/bags. There have been times where I have driven by it (visible from Pleasant Hill), and you can see the swarm of vultures waiting outside. I was told that they at least built a larger waiting area outside to accommodate the masses. It was finally time to check the place out. My friend had a reservation (as we were there to meet her friend who worked there), but we still had to wait for a table- I get it. The place inside, at least on a Sunday afternoon, gets fairly busy. Even the take out line up front is busy. This place all around screams vandalism- there are markings over the majority of the walls and furniture. With that being said, I find it funny at some areas specifically say “do not mark”. Not sure what is so sacred about that area- I mean hell, you would think the whole place is fair game. If you were to be inside, you would definitely get a better understanding of what I speak of. Someone had mentioned that this place wouldn’t be a great place for a first date. Where we sat, I kind of get it- especially the way some tables are set up. We sat next to a family with a little kid. While, for the most part, the kid behaved, it was my foul mouth that made me feel bad. I guess, he was probably gonna hear that kind of stuff down the road eventually. When Nan (our server) came, she was pretty quick. Her service was definitely the best part of the meal. This place has a full bar, along with their specialty of blue crabs. They even have a house brew (the Juicy Brew). However, when I ordered it, they didn’t have any. Or the crabs. I mean, you think there would be an endless supply of the house staples, but I guess not. So, we decided to get a dozen oysters to start, and I got a bag with Dungeness crab and a lobster tail (never seen that as an add on before). With the bag, you get one piece of corn, and one potato. When the oysters came out, they were interesting. Its like they were lukewarm, but on ice- that was an odd mix for me- but I lived to tell the tale thank goodness. The boil bags came out pretty quickly, and when I opened mine- I was damn near convinced I had snow crab. There was no claw meat, and the shells had that snow crab smoothness. But, at least it was still crab meat (not what I expected though). The first thing I did go for, was the lobster tail- and that was the most disappointing. The best way I could describe the lobster tail is when you are carving a pumpkin and you have to scrape the seeds out of the inside and while you scrape you get seeds and the pulp. The lobster was like the pulp- it was almost glued on the shell. Never again. The crab, was alright, but again, I was expect meaty Dungeness crab, not some malnourished crustacean from the bottom of a dumpster. Even the corn, and potato were mushy, like they had just been sitting all day. Thank goodness my friend was getting full so I got to eat some crawfish and shrimp- or else I was going to have to go somewhere else to get another meal. For a dozen oysters, 2 drinks, and 2 bags, it was around $105 (before tip). If it was quality, it would be one thing, but I almost felt like I was scammed. But, let’s be honest, I am starting to feel like that on a lot of things about life, but I will keep that talk off the airwaves. My suggestion- come when this place isn’t a madhouse (sorry not sure when that is), or don’t come at all. There are a lot of these types of places in the area so at you know there are options out there.

The Atlantic – Menu with Prices – 3004 Pacific Ave, Virginia Beach

My fiancé and I popped into this restaurant right after hurricane Dorian passed through, and happy hour (which usually ends at 6pm 7 days a week) was extended to 7pm. There was a short 10 min wait which gave us just enough time to skim over the menu and have our selections in mind by the time we were seated. We ordered 3 kinds of $1 happy hour oyster (2 baked – one with chorizo and one with mushrooms – and one roasted roasted with garlic butter). The minimum order quantity is 3pc. All of the oysters were very tasty, but our favorite was the oven roasted oyster with garlic butter – so good! My fiancé also ordered the $6 happy hour griddle burger, which was surprisingly hearty with double patties. We were extremely satisfied by what we got for the price point – I personally was expecting to detect some skimping! It’s like a $12 burger for half the price. My fiancé and I also got some cocktail shrimp to share, which at $16 came with 4pc. Our small town local market in Maryland also sells XL cocktail shrimp and I think ours are tastier for a better price, but honestly, I’m always happy to have cocktail shrimp. For my entree I got the lobster Mac and cheese, since that’s what I felt the dreary post-Dorian weather called for. The Mac was pretty light as far as Mac & cheese goes and the portion of lobster was relatively skimpy for the price ($16 if my memory serves correctly) – comparable price to the lobster roll which I would presume to have a much more generous portion of meat. Overall, we were the most impressed by the happy hour selection and the upbeat, friendly service. Awesome restaurant that we will definitely be returning to on our next visit to Virginia Beach.

Cafe Prima Pasta – Menu with Prices – 414 71st St, Miami Beach

Blown away! Did not think I would find such amazing pasta dishes in Miami! My husband and I were visiting for the weekend and this came up in our search with really great reviews, now we understand why! Los Guidry’s Thoughts and Recommendations: – Seating options were good. We arrived a little late on a Sunday (8:30) with no reservations and we were still seated inside pretty quickly. We each grab a glass of wine at the bar and waited 15 minutes? There was plenty of seating outdoors too but we preferred a table indoors. – Food was PHENOMENAL! As the appetizer we ordered the calamari. We order calamari almost everywhere but this is probably some of the best we’ve ever had. The calamari was not chewy, tasted fresh and wasn’t greasy. The marinara sauce it was paired with was all the flavors this app needed. – Pasta pasta pasta! I mean, where do I start? My husband ordered the pasta of the day which was a red sauce based- seafood medley spaghetti with lobster tail, mussels, and shrimp and I ordered the Crab Raviolotti which is crab stuffed ravioli swimming in lobster sauce and oh my goodness. We were in ITALIAN HEAVEN! If you thought there was no such thing- EH you’re wrong, it’s at Cafe Prima Pasta. – Service was perfection. The staff was incredibly friendly and attentive the entire night. From the moment we walked over to the table, the service was absolute perfection. If you can’t tell by now, I freaking love this place. No doubt, my husband and I will be back next time we’re in Miami. Hope this review helps!

Seabear Oyster Bar Menu with Prices 297 Prince Ave #10, Athens

THE BEST OYSTERS AROUND! HAPPY HOUR 3P-6P SO JUST DO IT. Seabear is one of my favorite restaurants in Athens!! I love the variety in the Oysters and their drink menu is so fun! The service is incredible and I’ve never had anything go wrong here. I love this place so much! Try everything on the menu – you’ll love it all. For the other plates, I liked the mussels and the crab patty but they didn’t particularly stand out. We also had the lobster bisque soup which was perfect. The lobster roll is small and $15, but it is such a good treat. It’s so buttery and delicious. That is a definite must-try. I saw a Tiki Drink section on the bar drink menu. I think the one I got was called Rum Runner, but I’m not too sure. It was delicious, strong, and had a beautiful presentation. The other tiki drinks I saw were all beautiful. There is a parking lot close that has free parking up to a limited time. GREAT SERVICE! GIVE IT A TRY!

Pastor’s Place – Menu with Prices – 1533 W Dupont Rd, Fort Wayne

Stopped in for lunch after seeing positive Yelp reviews and I was glad I did. It was a Friday and just after noon and they were super busy. There was quite a line for a table but they were getting people seated fairly quickly. I had intentions on getting the lobster roll but the special for the day was a crab cake sandwich and the waitress suggested I try that since it was a special and come back for the lobster roll another day. I’m so glad I did. It was fantastic. I got the pasta salad with it which was just okay. I’ve eaten a lot of crab cakes in my lifetime and this one ranked fairly high. Service wise this place was great as well. With a bit of research I’ve learned it is owned by a husband and wife team. The husband was helping to run the host stand and seating people. He was warm and welcoming and asked if I had been in before. The wife made a point to ask me how my experience was when she was walking by and I noticed she was doing this with a lot of tables. The wait staff was friendly. Because it was just be I sat at a small counter style area with barstools. A bonus was that there were electrical outlets there and they had USB outlets where if you needed to you could charge your device. Overall it was a great experience and I can’t wait to go back and try the lobster roll. There were quite a few people ordering it so I think it must be a bit. As for the crab cake as this Friday’s special I overheard the kitchen staff telling the waitstaff that they were sold out before I left and I can see why. Yum!!

Charm Thai Kitchen & Sushi Bar – Menu with Prices – 960 Schillinger Rd S, Mobile

I was going to head to one of my favorite stops named Taste of Thai that sits between Mobile Alabama and Pascagoula Mississippi. For some reason they were closed today which is a Monday so I decided to find me a new Thai restaurant. The layout in here is very nice. It also has a full bar. Between 3 p.m. and 6 p.m. there is happy hour. Happy hour has $5 drinks as well as by one appetizer get another half off. I wish I would have checked on Yelp before I went here as I would have got the check-in special which was two Thai teas! I definitely have to go back to get that. Everything was very good. My son always likes to get the crab and cheese rangoon’s. They serve them here but they were called crab angels. This is usually a crab and cream cheese fried in a wonton. There’s had a yellow texture in the middle and it had a strong Curry Taste. It wasn’t bad just different. I also ordered me the firecracker appetizer which was good. It is imitation crab meat and cream cheese stuffed in a jalapeno and lightly fried. We then ordered our favorite which is the red curry with pork. That was very good. The presentation was very nice. If this place was closer I would definitely be a regular
