Ok, so is lengthy but well deserved. We contacted Debbi and Reyes regarding the catering for our wedding a few months into our planning..that is when the awesome began. They were both extremely friendly, professional, open to suggestions, gave great advice, and ensured our menu met our wants/needs and most importantly the delight of our guests. The best way to describe food-It could not have been any better. Apps: Fresh Fruit & Cheese Platter Chicken & Waffles (Peanut Butter sauce & Nutella) BLT Crostini Entrees: Filet Mignon Tacos Pork Belly/Scallop Tacos Black and Blue Sliders Grilled/Seasoned Veggies & Potatoes Gastro Greens (Salad) My only regret for the day was I didn’t eat the food for breakfast and dinner. All items were full of flavor and flavored perfectly. Our guests truly raved about each course and each item. I would (and plan) on contacting them regarding future events and would recommend them to anyone for any type of occasion. For our reception experience-money perfectly spent. I would be happy to clarify or answer ?’s for anyone regarding this review.

Taqueria Guanajuato – Menu with Prices – 3901 Dick Pond Rd, Myrtle Beach

I really love this place. After eating this, i definitely won’t be eating at another tex-mex restaurant ever again! This place makes you see just a snippet of authentic Mexican cuisine. My favorites on the menu is the chorizo and tongue tacos. The meat is well seasoned and very tender. I also liked the choizo chimichanga, the outside was crunchy and light. The beans and rice are also delicious as well. The other menu items i tried, like the sopas, didnt seem as flavorful like the rest. Also their pork belly is chewy, which isn’t what im used too. Their in house drinks are amazing. They make them from scratch and it’s very good. Highlu recommend this place, especially if you’ve only had tex-mex most of your life.

Ijji Noodle House – Menu with Prices – 199 Damonte Ranch Pkwy #8M, Reno

What was once a sushi restaurant connected to a chicken wing shop is now Ijji Noodle House and Poke Don. Though the poke side has few seats and is geared more toward take-out, you can order it from the much larger dining room. With a sizeable menu of Japanese, Vietnamese, Korean, and Chinese items, my family settled in for our latest outing. My son ordered fresh coconut water ($3.95), a whole coconut with the top cracked open by our server. Pop a straw in and you’re all set. The 4 year-old enjoyed it, but seemed puzzled by the presentation. Orders of veggie-filled rice paper spring and summer rolls ($5.95 ea) were shared, shrimp for spring, flame broil pork for summer. Both were good and included plenty of meat. The peanut sauce had a lot of fragrant flavor, and a surprising amount of kick. Karaage ($6.95) bites were drizzled in spicy mayo, topped with fish flake and nori slivers, and ponzu sauce for dipping. The coating on the moist, dark meat chicken bites was nicely crispy and seasoned. Though takoyaki ($5.95, 6 pieces) octopus balls were served in a similar manner and plenty warm, the ratio of seafood-to-tempura in the filling could have been better. A good bowl of pho starts with a rich beef bone broth, long-simmered with veggies, spices, and fish sauce. My daughter’s vegetarian pho with tofu ($9.95) was full of noodles and perfectly cooked veggies–with big slabs of lightly grilled tofu on top–but the broth was incredibly bland. She added shoyu, hoisin, and sriracha just so it would taste like … something. Ramen is served with cubed daikon on the side. The bowls include fish cake, bean sprouts, fresh baby spinach, ajitama, and nori. Pork bone broth formed the base of black tonkotsu ramen ($11.95), topped with sliced pork belly and a few slivers of roasted black garlic; shredded wood ear mushroom added for an extra buck. While the broth did have decent flavor, my daughter-in-law added a bit of shoyu to taste. The noodles were springy enough and seemed fresh. The soft-boiled egg wasn’t a perfect example of marinated ajitama, but close enough. My son’s bowl of miso spicy ramen with pork belly ($11.95) included corn and crumbled pork sausage. The nori was replaced by considerably more spinach, which he enjoyed. The spicy heat overwhelmed the miso a bit, but he didn’t seem to mind. A friend’s bowl of spicy chicken ramen ($11.95) featured chicken broth with five-spice soy sauce, crumbled braised chicken, and wood ear mushroom. The broth was great, and he practically cleaned the bowl. My cold noodle bowl ($12.95) included a nest of vermicelli topped with daikon, carrot, cucumber, lettuce, tons of delicious flame broiled pork, and a couple meaty egg rolls sectioned into bite-sized pieces. My only complaint was some difficulty in pulling apart the noodle ball. My grandson’s three scoop poke bowl ($11.95) had brown rice, salmon, scallop, octopus, pineapple ponzu, kewpie mayo, tobiko, krab, seaweed salad, pineapple, edamame, lemon, salmon skin, garlic chip, seaweed flake, and tempura crunch. He pretty much wants everything. The scallop and octopus were good, though the salmon texture seemed thawed and refrozen. Regardless, the young poke aficionado was very pleased with his meal.

Chikos Grocery And Deli – Menu with Prices – 400 Pacific Ave, Jersey City

This is a hidden little gem of a place with great home cooked styled food. This place is an authentic Spanish food restaurant that serves cook to order food and not buffet styled like most other spots. I typically get the grilled chicken with 2 sides. The grilled chicken is always deliciously seasoned and all the sides I’ve tried up to date are on point. They have yellow or white rice, salad, mixed steamed veggies, red or black beans, tostones , platanos (sweet fried bananas), and so on. Everything has been good and has not disappointed yet. They also serve other delicious foods like bbq ribs, fried or grilled pork chops, peppered steak, ny steak, fish fillet, and one of my favs roasted pork (pernil). Service is also good, staff very friendly and caring. Food takes a little longer then usual to come out but well worth the wait. (Update: food preparation speed has definitely improved big time, this is hands down my favorite Spanish spot in JC) I’d recommend this place to anybody who is craving authentic home quality Spanish food.

Hannah?s kitchen Menu with Prices 4822 NW 2nd Ave, Boca Raton

This place is REALLY GOOD! Food: I picked up chicken shawarma with triple the chicken to hit that high protein level! I skipped the bases of lettuce or rice and went with a plain base of hummus. I grabbed a cucumber pickles, seasoned onions, tomato & cucumber salad, tabbouleh, grilled veggies, jalapenos, and parsley along with some garlic sauce decorated on top. At first bite, I could tell this was going to be a smash hit in my book! The chicken was cooked perfectly and seasoned well! The hummus was delicious, the veggies were absolutely a knockout! I cleared the entire plate in what felt like 5 minutes! Absolutely incredible in every single way, healthy, delicious, perfection! (5 of 5) Service: A sweet lady took my order and captured everything perfectly. You order at the counter and sit down, they bring it all out for you and even offer up some bread! (5 of 5) Price: Sooooooo cheap! Literally $14 for triple my meat and plenty of veggies! The value here can’t be understated as this is good food for such a cheap price! Highly recommend and when I came in there weren’t too many people there! Once everyone figures this place out they will be in for a very happy surprise if you are a fan of Mediterranean!

Universal Snacks – Menu with Prices – 1212 International Blvd, Laredo

Their sweetbread taco with grilled onions and hot sauce is one of the best tacos in Laredo. Expertly fried and seasoned perfectly, they are absolutely delicious. Add a small corn or a tostada de Siberia and finish things off with a fresh raspa (my favorite is pineapple). I’ve never had any other snacks from Universal but the sweetbread tacos alone are worth the visit

Sonora Cocina Mexicana Menu with Prices 89 Patton Ave, Asheville

Most places in Asheville we found on yelp surprisingly close at 10pm so we were pleased to find this place is open until about 1am. It’s in the heart of downtown so we parked a few blocks away and walked. It wasn’t packed so we didn’t have to cram, although the service was great anyway so even if they were busy we would’ve gotten superb service. The waiter was extremely personable and took great care of our table even though we sat in the corner of the restaurant. We got pork belly tacos, elote off the cob, and the torta special (pork belly). The water is served in the glass jar just a little chilled but left on the table so we could refill for ourselves. The elote off the cob used fresh corn and not canned. You can tell by how the kernels stuck together as if cut off the cob. My pork tacos were delicious. I thought the torta had too many flavors going on but my boyfriend who ordered it loved it. The tacos had two layers of corn tortillas and was just a little crisped at the edges which I loved. Two tacos never seems like enough to fill me up but it did! I couldn’t finish the elote.

Sparrow Meat Market Menu with Prices 407 N 5th Ave, Ann Arbor

I’ve always loved sparrow for high quality meat despite slightly higher prices, but they just recently they did me wrong. I’ve bought skin on pork belly for a long time from Sparrow, i believe it usually arrives on Monday and they sell it for 1.99 a pound. I showed up today to get some and it was 3.99. After asking a worker why they marked it up he told me it was always that price… which I know isn’t true. However, I care more about quality than price (why I’m shopping at sparrow in the first place) so i went on to buy my skin on pork belly as I planned. When I got home, I found out the butcher had just cut off the very top lean layer of the belly with the skin, and left the rest of it to be sold as pork belly w/o skin. Let me rephrase that, my pork belly I purchased had no fat, none, it looked like a tenderloin. I am confused what I should do with this very lean belly. This is not the way that sparrow used to serve their skin on pork belly. I bought a two pound section 10 days ago and it was a nice fatty pork belly with the skin on; it was also $2 a pound, but that’s not the point. Long story short I am very disappointed in the product I purchased from Sparrow today.

The Foxes Boxes – Menu with Prices – 622 N 4th St, Wilmington

Went to check out this place for a quick lunch and absolutely fell in love. When I walked in, I was greeted by the staff and welcomed into the restaurant. I must have looked like I was a first time customer because one of the staff members came to me with a menu and went over each food item. I was impressed! If I had any questions, she had already answered them. I proceeded to order the turkey burger sliders with carrot ginger salad. The sliders are topped with tomato, lettuce, cheese, and spicy mustard. The carrot ginger salad has shredded carrots, edamame, ginger, and red pepper flakes. The sliders were amazing! They had so much flavor. It can be easy to make turkey meat dry so I was very impressed with the taste and flavor of the sliders. The salad was great too. It had a mild spice from the red pepper flakes but the flavor was so good. It’s a light side so I would definitely recommend it with the sliders. The ambiance of the restaurant is so chill. It’s filled with games, art, and different places to lounge. I. Can’t wait to check out this place again!!

Grand Central Bar and Grill – Menu with Prices – 121 Grace St, Wilmington

Did a wine dinner with the Wilmington Food and Wine Festival at this restaurant. It is smaller sized restaurant , eclectic seating arrangements, neat exposed brick walls and a piano on the side. The menu had 5 courses, two options for the main course and dessert, none of the portions were huge. The Crab cake with cajun remoulade over fried green tomato, arugula salad. The crab cake was good , but very tiny- one large bite or several small bites. It had good flavor, crispy, the sauce was good , it was flavorful, the fried green tomato added an interesting touch. The second course was Char spiced Ahi tuna ceviche served in an avocado boat. The tuna was tender and very flavorful. On top of the tuna were carrot shavings, endive pieces and black sesame seeds, on the side were fried wonton noodles with arugula and baby lettuces. the third course was Seared heirloom caprese salad served over toasted naan. The naan had a nice toast on it, tiny heirloom tomatoes were flavorful, both yellow and red variety. The mozzarella was soft and creamy, covered by two large pieces of fresh basil. All drizzled with a balsamic glaze. The Blackened shrimp tacos, goat cheese grit cake, and chimichurri pork belly lardons. They were amazing large tender shrimp pleasantly spiced and perfectly cooked. I was a little skeptical of the goat cheese grit cake, but it was tasty , not overly goat cheese flavor. The pork lardons added a nice crunch, they were not greasy or heavy. The other option for dinner was Seared pork belly, fig goat cheese, peach rum chutney, arugula over onion naan, so we did not try this option. There were two desserts: Bread pudding bites served over ice cream or Golden vanilla rum cake with raspberry sorbet. Both were great. The bread pudding was not the typical bread pudding, it was a nice change. The rum cake was a great presentation, a cute bundt cake- not a slice of cake, served with tasty raspberry sorbet, a large strawberry and blackberries and raspberries. The cake was moist, flavorful and perfectly baked. The menu was from the wine dinner, I’m not sure if these plates are on the menu. Great place for dinner, no overstuffed plates here. Downfall is that it is noisy but a cute place.

730 Tavern, Kitchen & Patio – Menu with Prices – 730 Massachusetts Ave, Cambridge

This review is only for the breakfast buffet on Mother’s and the service we recieved. I literally only took a point off because the mozzarella sticks were not hot & gooey and they only had one meat option at the carving station. Also the omelettes that we ordered from the omelette station were a little dry (should have used an olive oil) and stingy on the cheese. We went this last Sunday for mother’s day and had a great time! This used to be the old Tavern in The Square location which had a Sunday breakfast buffet. Since no other restaurants have a traditional buffet anymore it’s nice to have these guys close by. We arrived as soon as it opened and were seated right away even without a reservation. Everyone was SUPER friendly and welcoming! The options were interesting and plentiful. Along the window there is plenty of fresh fruit, and many cakes, muffins and other Continental buffet choices, to the right of that was a carving station featuring roast pork – I don’t eat pork anymore but it was beautiful! Lol To the left of the dessert table there was a beautiful and fresh tomato, mozzarella and fresh basil salad display! This is one of my fav salads! They also had other green salad options. The hot bar featured a combo of breakfast and lunch options from Eggs Bennie and sausage to fried plaintains and grilled mixed veggies! I love the fact that there were a lot of vegetarian options! Even though I am not a vegetarian sometimes I just like a variety of fruits and veggies! The also had grilled pineapple! Yum! The mozzarella sticks were not hot and gooey, but they were tasty and breading was crunchy so it was a trade off. Lol. All in all, it’s a great place with lots of variety for only $17! Service was great too! I forget my servers name but she was super friendly and kind even though my family likes to linger after we paid the check! I added pictures but the pics don’t do it justice. Go visit for yourself.

Thai Treasure Restaurant and Bar Menu with Prices 3811 Fairfax Dr Ste 105, Arlington

Finally checked this newish Thai spot out after having walked, ran and driven past it many times. We came here for a late dinner Sunday night and found parking outside. It’s not a heavily trafficked area so I was optimistic seeing others inside the spacious, newly renovated room. While the service was quick, the food left much to be desired. For appetizers, we tried some staples including Spring Rolls, Chicken Satay and Papaya Salad. I had mistakenly expected a fresh roll, but it turned out to be fried and reminded me of the freebie you get in a Chinese takeout combo. They should probably specify that it’s fried on the menu. The satay and salad were decent. For entrees, we got the Thai Treasure Pad Thai and Happy Chicken. What made the pad thai slightly different from the standard was that it had crab, pork belly and apparently smoked gouda (noted on the menu, but I didn’t notice it). The pork belly was tasty, but a couple of the pieces had more fat than meat. We thought the pad thai was underwhelming for its cost ($18). Last but not least, the Happy Chicken was aptly named. It was perfectly crispy and delicious. As one of the only Thai restaurants within walking distance in Ballston, I’d probably try this place out again in a pinch.

Effie’s Kitchen Menu with Prices 37 Poplar St, Boston

I regret not trying this place sooner because it’s close to my house and I usually have to drive far to get decent food. Went there for the first time and had a pork gyro & chicken souvlaki plate. The plate was $13.50 and came with rice pilaf, a greek salad, pita bread & 2 chicken kabobs. Pita was grilled and absolutely delicious. Kabobs were smaller than most places but tasted good. Greek salad & dressing were good and I was impressed at the freshness because most places I go to give me wilted lettuce or dried up cukes/onions. The rice pilaf was the only thing I was not a fan of. It tasted like the Middle East one they sell at grocery store..under seasoned. The gyro I thought was really good..overflowed with pork (a little greasy but good) tomatoes, onions, tzatziki & fries (normally I hate fries in my gyro but these were good.) Overall, I liked the food and will be returning..probably to try a chicken souvlaki gyro. The prices are high in my opinion especially for the dinner plate. I considered trying a baklava but it was $3.75+ tax for a very small piece. Their menu is small but has most Greek staples. Service here was not particularly welcoming..it was obvious it was our first time there but the lady was short with us and only took our order. We were the only 2 people in there and not a word was spoken the whole 20 minutes which I find unusual for mom & pops places. Maybe next time..
