Wow! Now I am a girl that likes a sandwich and this place is amazing! I came here whit a CoFriend-Worker and she explained to me that she usually ordered the Italian Stallion. So I went with her recommendation. Boy am I glad that I did. The owner and his wife work as a cute well oiled team, even though it was her first day joining him – you wouldn’t have been able to tell unless she said. He explained the two meat sizes of the sandwich as well as the bread choices. The sandwich came super quickly and with all the added fixins like black olives, evoo drizzle and oregano – if that is your style. The drinks are endless to wet your whistle as you consume the sandwich masterpiece. All the meat is boars head brand which are notorious for being flavorful and great sandwich meats. I enjoyed this place so much i told my husband we would have to come back with our babies just to have a wonderful bite to eat.

Oregano’s Pizza Bistro – Menu with Prices – 2690 Baseline Rd, Boulder

Every week I pass by Oregon’s when I fill up my car with gas and always wanted to try it, today happens to be the day I got to try Oregano’s! Overall the experience did not disappoint but it’s very important that when you visited Oregano’s you don’t keep count of calories otherwise your visit won’t be fun (just ask my wife). We visited on a Saturday around 8:50pm and had to wait two minutes for a table (today was Buffs vs Nebraska game). We ordered the big beef sandwich and upgraded chips for fries. Also ordered stuffed pizza with mushrooms, black olives and caramelized red dragon muons as our toppings. The waiter warned us that it will take 50 minutes for the pizza cause the oven is out of capacity. The beef sandwich came relatively quickly and was delicious but then again for that amount of calories it should. The pizza took around an hour and we were surprised that it were not super hot given the wait. It was warm and tasted good but didn’t feel fresh out of the oven which is weird because we waited an hour! The portion was huge (8 slices) we thought we will eat it all and then head to the skillet cookie but we were optimistic. We ended up eating 5 slices and were surprised that we were able to survive. Overall this is a more family friendly place with tasty food for everyone to enjoy. Here are my ratings: Big beef sandwich: 8/10 Stuffed pizza: 8/10

Twisted Tomato – Menu with Prices – 2333 St George Rd, Evansville

Honestly I expected something a little more “craft” from the name! The pizza was fine. St. Louis style, with the cracker crust cut into squares and toppings-to-the-edge and a sweet sauce filled with oregano. So much oregano. The breadsticks we got were just covered in oregano. The sauce tasted like oregano. I wouldn’t be surprised if there was oregano in my salad. I like oregano, but personally, I’m a basil girl. It was a lot of oregano for me. The beer list is lacking; it’s all Bud/Light, Coors, etc, with the one exception being Space Dust. The space itself is fine. It looks like a take-out-joint that expanded to fill a large space… which it probably was? It’s not fancy, but it’s clean and well kept. Oddly enough, our food came to the table packaged for delivery – breadsticks wrapped in tinfoil, etc. I’d eat here again, but probably not before checking out some other Evansville pizza joints.

Lil Zeus Food Truck – Menu with Prices – 112 W 50th St, New York

I don’t understand all the hype behind Halal Guys when you have a far superior product with Lil Zeus. I probably get food here at least twice a week and have fully abandoned Halal Guys. First off, Halal Guys white sauce is laced with so much mayo its not even anything close to resembling a tzatziki…2nd, Halal Guys hot sauce is so bloody hot you can’t taste what you are eating. Finally Halal Guys shreds the meat to such granular pieces, its like you’re eating dog food. at Lil Zeus you have none of those problems. The lamb meat is the typical donair kebab type (sausage/semi processed style) while their chicken is legit, cooked souvlaki style. The guys running this truck are friendly guys and they work hard to keep the line moving. Why didn’t i give it a full 5 stars? well the salad isn’t entirely greek as they used shredded iceberg lettuce as a primary filler instead of the green peppers, red onions, tomatoes, cucumbers, big blocks of feta + olives and oregano you see with regular Greek salads. Overall, the pricing is very fair for the portion size and its pretty delicious. Most importantly, this place puts Halal Guys to shame. Seriously…how can you squirt mayo all over meat that’s been pulverized into pebble like pieces?

Rico’s Pizzeria – Menu with Prices – 972 Hamilton Rd, London

We ordered two large pizzas yesterday and asked for a very thin crust. Mine was traditionally with pepperoni, black olives, mushrooms and onions My wife chose the vegetarian one. Both pizzas were delicious. The crust was thinner that we expected, delicate, crispy but not dry. Mine was a bit too salty, but there is nothing to complain of the bad prep but the presence of black olives which in my opinion should be rinsed before to take salt off. We are living pretty far from Ham

Stevarinos Italian Eatery & Pub – Menu with Prices – 325 Cherokee Blvd, Chattanooga

Decent amount of free parking! Which is a plus on Northshore. We sat at the bar top that faces the street on their patio. Good breeze, comfy seats, just enough table space for up to 3 people per section and we were entertained to watch everyone walk, drive and bike by. We ordered a couple draft beers, they have a good selection but temp was just cold enough if ya know what I mean. I ordered the Papa Joe’s salad w/ the black olives on the side since we intended to share and my husband thinks black olives are Satan. He ordered the Cajun Pasta at the recommendation of our waitress. We laughed about “of course she recommended one of the most expensive menu items” but it sounded yummy so whatever. We debated an appetizer, saw some being delivered and everything looked great but we decided against it. Our waitress asked if we’d like bread & my husband said sure, which I wondered if it was the bread I had seen on the starters menu. She delivered a warm amazing loaf of bread and shortly after our food arrived. Olives were all over my salad and no dressing so it was not a good start there, I went to picking the olives out of my salad and while we waited to spot our waitress my husband dug in on his pasta and started feeding me bites and OMG… it was amazing! We said it was totally a good recommendation and worth it’s price we had joked about (which for the record, this place is very reasonably priced. So it being one of the more expensive items left it at only $15) our waitress came out and didn’t notice or mention me picking the olives out of the salad, but quickly got us the house dressing & apologized which we were in such heaven of that bread and Cajun pasta, we barely cared. Salad was good, loaded with more than necessary meat and cheese cubes. We waddled out miserably full but pleased. We will 100% be back.

Onos Hawaiian Grill – Menu with Prices – 4015 Fern Ave, Shreveport

Mother’s Day eve, dinner with my bride on a rainy evening. Excited to try something different! We were blown away by the beautiful and spacious interior. Even on a busy night, we were seated quickly, near the bar and the kitchen. Wait personnel , dressed in black swarmed the place. As we waited, and waited and waited some more we visited and kept our eyes open for our waiter.A couple was seated next to us, and on the third trip to their table by THEIR waitress,we snagged her. She was NOT or server but graciously adopted us for the evening. She was delightful. I drank a local beer, Judy shoes a small glass of wine. We ordered an appetizer that contained Fresh tuna. Both drinks and appetizers arrived reasonably quickly. Appetizer was beautiful , drinks good. We placed our orders and reordered more drinks. Food arrived and was beautiful and delicious. I ordered a dirty vodka martini as I wanted to assess the quality of the bar for possible future evenings of drinks and appetizers. Our meal finished, our original drinks consumed, we visited and waited, waited and continued to wait. A well staffed bar was seemingly slow? Our waitress appeared and we asked if the martini was coming? She apologized and went to check. We continued our evening, enjoying our quiet time . Finally, she returned with a small martini, glass adorned with three large olives. She said she had to beg the bar for my drink. She was visibly It was just OK, nothing special and definitely not chilled by shaking with ice. As I finished my drink, we asked for our check! It’s a good thing we were seated! After we added a generous tip for our helpful waitress, our bill was just shy of $120. I asked Judy, who was evaluating our check why so high? It seems that the bar is proud of their drinks. All drinks were overpriced. My martini hit near$15.00. The three garnish olives were billed at $1.00 EACH. In summary, the food was good and attractive, price a tad high- but not outrageous. The bar prices- be aware may not be what you would expect. We will return again, enjoying water or tea- unless lemon or ice cost extra!

Domino’s Pizza – Menu with Prices – 1240 Spinning Rd, Dayton

First let me say the Pizza was HOT! So many times when we get Pizza it’s warm. The bad was we could see the driver pass our house, we thought she had another delivery on our street. But I guess not because when she came to the door she expressed how the addresses on the houses was not marked well. I apologized for her troubles. The address is on the house next to the front door and painted on the curb. I didn’t think I needed to hear that. Now back to the Pizza it was hot and I asked for black olives on half the pizza. I like this option on the web site. But what we got was black olives on three out of eight pieces.

The Tamale Man – Menu with Prices – 1654 W Carson St, Torrance

In my search for the holy grail of the ultimate TAMAL, I found it in the City of San Fernando around 1990 in downtown San Fernando either on Truman or San Fernando Road.  A salt & pepper coifed “Abuela” was sitting on a bench, and next to her was a large, silver olla with a lid.  I went up to her, and she only spoke Spanish.  “¿Vende Ud. tamales?”  “Sí, son ricos.”  “¿Cuanto?”  ” Un dollar.” I bought two tamales & took them home.  They were the best tamales I have ever had. The Salsa de Chile Colorado had a little heat, but even more the salsa had the taste of the chiles as well as seasonings such as ajo, touch of oregano, black pepper and a good meaty fond de cuisine.  There were shreds of moist, meaty, soft pork in the deshebrada style. The masa was moist, soft with a pleasant, creamy mouthfeel, and seemed to be infused with a touch of flavourful lard & a deeply flavoured chicken broth which she might have obtained after feeding her family & using the chicken bones for broth.  (If she did, this was a great concept of waste not, want not. As our world population grows, & resources become scarce, more of us wasteful Americans will live this way.)  I went back a week later to the same spot, but that Abuela was never to be seen again even when I went back a number of times.  I had reached my holy grail only to have lost it .  I have yet to find such an exemplary TAMAL again. However,  I have refound the best tasting tamales at The Tamale Man. 1)  The tamal de puerco was instead slathered on the outside w/ Salsa Verde which seems to to be an aromatic, green mIxture of cilantro, touch oregano & garlic. Masa is similar to the Abuela’s but seemed to have a cheesier taste. Pork is stewed to a moist, meatiness. 2) Al Pastor Tamal is not classically presented w/ all ingredients inside the masa. The tamal is steamed and split open down the middle w/ the central core having a soft, delicate, white cheese. Masa initially is dryer but gets creamier in the mouth.   Bits of al Pastor is sprinkled on top of the tamal. Taco al Pastor in the style of the shepherd was originally made from lamb by Lebanese immigrants, but when al Pastor reached México, pork was used instead. Traditionally, it is still roasted skewered on a Trompo, a vertical rotating rotisserie, w/ pineapple on top so enzymes in this fruit can drizzle down to tenderize the meat. The pork al Pastor here seems also to be marinated in a fruity, sour vinegar, red chile sauce. Meat is bit on the chewy dry side kind of like the bits in Hormel Corn Beef Hash. I added on fresh chopped cilantro, onions, pickled onions w/ yellow orange Habanero chiles. Also ladled hot spicy, grassy herbal Salsa Verde on the Tamal de Puerco and the Salsa Rojo which has a smoky, vinegar, sour sweetness, red chile piquancy on the al Pastor. Bodacious, rich, cheesy, brothy, meaty Umami filled south of the border flavour bombs. So far these are the only Tamales in L.A. that I can wholeheartedly recommend. 4++ Yelp stars.

Flavor Wings & Fries – Menu with Prices – 10911 N Western Ave, Oklahoma City

Came in for a quick bite at this takeout only urban wing spot, complete with security window to order at. Service was friendly. Fried chicken wings are big here, with a nicely seasoned crunchy black pepper-heavy crust. Our batch was a bit overcooked which made some bits on the edges rock hard. Chicken inside not especially juicy but was tender. No sauce was offered which surprised me. And no sliced white bread. Fries are thick cut as you’d expect with Chicago-style, came with ketchup. They sell a sauce for the fries, 50 cents a cup. It’s tasty stuff, like Raising Cane’s sauce but with liquid smoke added. If they added chicken strips to the menu it would be the perfect dip (hint, hint). With so many fried chicken places a short drive away it’s a tough sell without a honey drizzle or some interesting sauce smothered on ’em. But the seasoning is definitely nice, good enough to bring me back in.

Maccabee’s Kosher Deli – Menu with Prices – 1150 Polk Blvd, Des Moines

If you enjoy a well made sandwich and want to support a local business, head to Maccabee’s. The other reviewers are spot on, the owners care about the food and the customer’s experience. I had the Roosevelt on rye and added a black and white cookie to round out my Jewish deli experience. Everything was made to order. The pastrami was lightly smoked and well seasoned around the edges. I believe that the bread on a sandwich should be more than a flavorless napkin/utensil, so I was pleased by the hearty depth of the rye bread. The pickle on the side was no slouch either, slightly sweet with a ton of dill. The pickle was crunchy, not soggy at all – I don’t think I will be able to choke down a Vlasic after this. Did I mess up by not grabbing some latkas or a knish? Probably! Hopefully I can return with a group to sample the side dishes.

Monroe’s Market & Deli – Menu with Prices – 4502 Oregon St, San Diego

Monroe’s Market is my favorite neighborhood spot. They have an amazing deli and the employees are some of the friendliest people I have met in San Diego. Because I live down the street, I walk to Monroe’s many times a week. Whether I want to pick up a sandwich at the deli, Monster Energy drinks, or even something I can’t make it all the way to the grocery store for, such as milk, they have what you’d expect for a small market. My favorite sandwich is the Italian with extra meat. It’s delicious. I usually get it on a thick white roll. It comes with crispy Romaine lettuce, tomatoes, and I sometimes add black olives. The deli has a famous Cajun sauce that I see a lot of locals request for their sandwiches and salads. The salads are gigantic and come with plenty of protein. There are 2 or 3 tables outside with umbrellas. Sometimes, I will meet friends and eat outside, but the majority of the time, I take my food home. The staff is beyond polite and always say hello when I walk in. Their hospitality is warming. Since I had just moved to San Diego when I started going to Monroe’s, I loved that I found a spot that was so welcoming and made me feel like part of the neighborhood. I highly recommend this place and will continue to refer people here.

Ragonese Italian Imports Menu with Prices 409 New Scotland Ave, Albany

Absolutely delicious subs! Stopped by for an American Mix sub on this lovely Saturday. My sub was monstrous! They must’ve put a pound and a half of meat on it Perfectly cooked and seasoned Boars Head roast beef. Delicious turkey and ham(both Boars Head as well) and very flavorful American cheese(did I mention it was Boars Head as well lol). All these delicious meats on an awesome, fresh sub roll made for one of the best deli subs I may have every had Also had a side of their pasta salad which was also delicious. It had katimala olives and fresh feta cheese(I believe) in it with colored rotini pasta. Yum. Anyway this place is the quintessential Italian Deli/Import Store with a very decent selection of everything Italian as far as food goes. I will definitely be back and I suggest stopping by if your in the neighborhood.
