I ask myself, what makes a breakfast stand out? Its all in their hot fresh crispy country or hash potatoes, oh, and of course the rest. This place has been one of our long time favorite for breakfast and they never disappoint. This quaint breakfast/lunch spot in Gilbert has kept its mark in the rapidly growing downtown revival. Seating is limited and usually has a small wait during prime time. Even though the wait is outside, there are benches and misters and cold water provided in the summer months. Their menu has a selection of 24 omelets and hearty breakfast or lunch options that you might expect at a ‘farmhouse’ bnb. Everything from the thick crispy bacon to their homemade chili are absolutely what you would expect. All breakfast are served with a toasted whole wheat french bread unless a choice specified. Their brewed coffee comes from their neighboring Bergie’s Coffee Roast which we love. Service always friendly and atmosphere suited to its name. If you like breakfast, give it a try.

Heart of Texas Dog House – Menu with Prices – 601 Webster Ave, Waco

The Magnolia Market offers an array of different food carts on its grounds, and most have lines that snake around. This little cart is located just outside of the bathrooms. Because there was no line, I opted to eat here. My sister and I shared two classic dogs ($4 bucks a pop) + a chili & cheese dog ($6). The classic dog had a nice snap to the casing as I bit into the hotdog. My sister liked her chili & cheese dog. The chili & cheese dog is all beef dog, loaded with Dr. Pepper chili cheese (what that means is unbeknownst to me) bacon and topped with crispy onions + Fritos. The chili was hearty and complemented nicely with the hotdog. For what it was worth, the both types of hotdogs were considerably really good. The Dog House could have easily served up crappier hotdog quality, marked up the prices, and no one would have complained, but needless to say, the hotdog quality was on point.

Custom Cup Coffee – Menu with Prices – 319 E Monroe St, Springfield

Great food! The Vegan options for pastries are nice, a bit pricey for the size of a donut($3.00) and a teacake but tasty ($4.50). Lunch doesn’t start until 11 so if you have a grilled cheese in mind for breakfast forget about it! But you can get a fried egg sandwich with cheese and bacon but not just a grilled cheese. The Vegan taco pot pie is flavorful and hearty, I even loved the vegan sour cream; they should go easier on the onions in the pico. My 1st visit I had a small cup of decaf… I tried it again today, it was decent; I think I’ll stick to my $1.29 cups of coffee at McDonald’s. Over all its a cool little spot expect to spend at least $15 each visit and remember to support small businesses! #shopsmall #vegan #coffee

Maggie?s Sunrise Café Menu with Prices 2665 Fashion Plaza, Bakersfield

If you haven’t been this is a must try!!!! Some to the best breakfast and service in Bakersfield. I sent my foodie Pete Titl here when I got when of another breakfast spot. I ordered the chili verde scramble which was absolutely awesome and perfectly cooked. Huge portion of tender fall apart chili verde and perfectly seasoned. We pretty much always sit at the counter so we can watch the action. It doesn’t take long to figure out who Maggie is as she conducts the cooks like awesome concert. She is very attentive to detail of what comes out of the kitchen as well as she wait staff. They are only open for breakfast and lunch and a great friend said their burgers are the bomb.com!!!! One of these days we’ll get their for lunch!!!! Awesome job and awesome write up in the Eye Street!!!!

The Bread Pedaler – Menu with Prices – 116 W Orange St, Lancaster

A real winner of a brunch spot in Lancaster. I really liked the looks of the menu without stepping foot in the restaurant and was not disappointed. True farm to table breakfast with some of the classics along with some unique plates. Pros: you order, take a number and the food is brought out with the check, which makes the brunch process so much easier than other restaurants. It was also not completely packed for a Saturday morning. -There is butter on the entire slice of toast. I hate places that skimp on the toast buttering. -The waffle is absolutely delectable without being heavy -BACON IS CRISPY! Why can’t other places figure out how to make crispy bacon? The Bread Peddler knows how to do it up right! Thick cut, crispy deliciousness. -Everything is organic and from local farms. Yes! If we ever find ourselves in Lancaster again we will be here for the brunch. Kudos to the owners of this place… A+

Bella Giornata – Menu with Prices – 154 Stuyvesant Pl, Staten Island

I was impressed by the quality of their breakfast! The place itself doesn’t look that nice, however the workers are really friendly and the food speaks for itself. I usually go to Bella Giornata for breakfast and sometimes lunch, and most of the time I call in my order so I don’t have to wait 5-10 minutes for my breakfast. I just come in and pick it up without the wait (except you have to wait in line and sometimes the line is long). Their mozzarella cheese is as real as it gets! Last time I had something that tastes like it was in Italy!!!! Very glad I found a place that has great mozzarella cheese! Usually I get beacon egg and mozzarella cheese, and it’s made well, the bacon isn’t burned but crispy, the egg well cooked, and the sandwich overall is done to perfection! Their panini for lunch is also very fresh and cooked really well! Must try this place and their mozzarella cheese! Prices are very cheap for this kind of food! $3 for beacon egg and cheese and $1.25 for small coffee! It’s worth a visit and strongly recomm

The Crowned Egg – Menu with Prices – 911 S Lindsay Rd B 106, Gilbert

Lovely. Yelp reviews are on target. We had the green chili pork skillet and it was loaded with succulent shredded pork. A few chunky red potatoes that my husband said “were excellent!” Not too spicy at all – really – so go for it! (But then again ASK because Hatch chilies can vary!) Okay…the Eggs Benedict Florentine with bacon added was spot on. Poached eggs, fresh spinach, and the lovely hollandaise had a TINY HINT of something….just an itty bitty kick. Bacon was thick and crunchy. Now about their hash browns – get a double order if you love crispy hash browns (ask for them crispy). They are THE BEST IVE HAD. Not dripping in oil or butter. Flavorful and absolutely SPOT ON. Nice service. Family owned. Nice. We got here on a Saturday around 12:15 and it wasn’t busy. Can’t understand that – it’s worth a ten to twenty Mike drive. Yasss!

Butch’s Place Family Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 3330 W 26th St, Erie

Cute little diner, very busy and now I know why! We stopped in after finding this place on Yelp. What a treat. We all wanted a hearty breakfast after a rough night out. It took a few minutes to get a table and quite a while to get our food, but the coffee kept coming and the ladies working were friendly. The omelets were cooked perfectly, not over done. I’d definitely recommend Butch’s breakfast potatoes over the hash browns. The hash browns were under cooked. The breakfast potatoes were fresh cut and cooked on the grill…perfection. The pancakes were the BEST I’ve had in a long time. The batter had a nice flavor and the texture was heaven. They had a hot griddle crispness to them and were soft and fluffy in the middle. We ordered the vege omelet which came with potatoes and toast, an order of 2 chocolate chip pancakes and a breakfast combo that came with two eggs, two plain pancakes, meat and potatoes, and a coffee and the bill came to $26 before tip. Not bad pricing, but those pancakes are worth every penny. It was a good amount of food. Just what we were looking for!

Punta Sur Cafe and Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 2725 S Beneva Rd, Sarasota

We decided to try this place out for breakfast as we saw it was new owners. We were the only ones in the restaurant. The breakfast menu didn’t have much for American breakfast, (chorizo, corn, & pork) in most dishes like the omelets. We were looking for just regular eggs, toast, bacon) the omelets contained chorizo, corn, or kale none of the ingredients I like. We were talking about leaving when the waitress (older lady) came over to let us know she had not put up the specials yet but that we could get regular bacon, eggs and toast. that’s what we ordered but instead of bacon we decided to order the lechon (pork) My daughter ordered a breakfast burrito. My daughters food arrived first with homemade tortilla chips that were delicious. My husband and I waited about another 5 minutes for our food to come out. My daughters burrito was not wrapped correctly and she had to reward it so the filling didn’t fall out, it wasn’t overly flavorful. My daughter thought it should have come with hash browns instead of the chips. Our breakfast looked great except the amount of pork on the plate was embarrassing. It looked like about a tablespoon of pork. The breakfast was cooked perfectly but it was an average breakfast you can get anywhere. It was 6.70 so the price was good. I can’t explain the toast though it was rye toast but stiff as a board. As we were eating the waitress put up the specials ( mushroom and cheese omelet ( I would have had that if I had know it was available) corned beef hash ( my husband and daughters favorite) the price is average and the decor and atmosphere are less than average. It felt like we were eating at the food court in the mall. I think there are better breakfast places like Millie’s or the IHOP.

Mi Tierra Pupusería & Bakery – Menu with Prices – 808 E Vine St, Kissimmee

Omg. In LOVE!!! The “typical breakfast” here is absolutely amazing. Everything served with it was so good and plated perfectly. Hot and delicious. I have zero complaints. It’s been like 4 days and I’m still thinking about it and can’t wait to go back. The kids had the pancakes (2huge), and americano style breakfast (adult meal, he loved it and ate it all!) I had the Elote hot drink and I didn’t know what to expect, as it was a first but it was really really good. Definitely try it. You won’t be disappointed. My husband and son got coffee. It was really good as well, they ended up with ordering an extra cup as my daughter stole her dads coffee and wouldn’t give it back it was so good. Ugh I already ordered food through a different place because I’m being lazy and this location is not on uber eats yet, but ima have to return tomorrow. Can’t get it out of my head.

La Boca Loca – Latin Inspired Grill – Menu with Prices – 3903 99 St NW, Edmonton

We came for a late lunch on a Friday and was pleasantly surprised at how busy it was – the sign on the door said they closed at 2:30 for a while before opening for dinner again, but they remained open as people still came in after us. The restaurant itself it painted in dark blue so it feels a little dark inside although there are plenty of windows at the front. Interesting art on the walls and an open kitchen behind the bar. Service was friendly and we were given a bottle of water while we looked over the menu. We ordered the Chacarero ($15.95) which is a steak sandwich with fries or a salad, and the Choripan ($12.95), sausage on a bun with fries or salad. We both wanted fries because it was going to come with a chili garlic aioli, but when we got our food, we were told they did not have any more aioli :(. The steak was fine, a little chewy and a bit overcooked, but very flavourful. Served on a bun with sliced tomato, cold green beans and a hearty amount of mayo, it was an interesting combination. The chorizo was delicious – loved the flavour, the texture and the size was decent. Served on a toasted bun with a cup of diced tomato & onion, it was good. Needed a little something extra though – maybe some mayo or a sauce of some sort to give it a little more flavour. The fries were hot, crispy and had lots of paprika on them. Coke in glass bottles instead of fountain pop, which you don’t always see. Overall, a decent lunch.

Michele’s Cafe – Menu with Prices – 1373 Clinton St, Buffalo

Great little diner, clean, homey retro vibe, reasonablely priced, servers were on point, Michele the owner was on the grill cooking & directing! We ordered breakfast, portions were hearty – french toast, bacon, eggs, grits, breakfast sandwich, real homefries, coffee – all served hot and fresh with a smile. They even have chicken & waffles (next time). They have a small “bake shop” that rumor has it is a lil slice of heaven, wasn’t available this am but one of the items is grilled pound cake! Lunch specials include Meatloaf sandwich, subs, Chicken Cordon Bleu sandwich, soups – can’t wait to get back and try some lunch eats! My only criticism was the maple syrup, for some reason it was ice cold & chilled the french toast, I even tried pouring it on the plate first to get to room temp but I’d already covered most of the french toast with the cold syrup – kind of disappointing as it actually made the french toast cold, french toast had good flavor though, I’ll just check the syrup bottle next time, ask to have it microwaved or something .. lol. We will be going back!

Karl Strauss Brewing Company – Menu with Prices – 40868 Winchester Rd, Temecula

This was my 2nd time coming to Karl Strauss but in a different city. I usually come here for the beer! The Temecula location was nice. They had indoors seating and an outdoor patio. We came on a Sunday evening and it wasn’t too busy. We decided to sit in the patio area for some fresh air. l Food & Drinks l Grass Fed Burger ($15) – California grown all natural grass fed beef, with habanero jack, beer brined bacon, avocado, chili aioli, served with fries or seasoned potato chips on a toasted artisanal bun. Sub mixed green salad is an additional $1.75. Their bacon is what makes this burger! It’s thick and not as fatty. The grass fed is classic but you can’t go wrong with it. We did ask for medium rare for the beef, but both the burgers were well done. Farmhouse ($16) – California grown all natural grass fed beef, with peppered beer braised smoked pork belly, fried egg, gruyere, lettuce, tomato, onion, and chipotle ale mayo. I usually don’t like to eat burgers, but this was so delicious. It’s a little messy to eat, but so worth. The beef was juicy and tender. While the pork belly added a nice flavor to the burger. The runny egg just topped everything off. Beer Flight – I don’t remember what I got but I let the server decide my flight for me since I wanted to try new beer. My favorite was the Oktoberfest! The flight comes with four (4 ounce) beer with different flavors you can choose from. Super cute! Overall, a good selection of beers and they are more than happy to bring samples if you want to try them first. Karl Strauss is a little on the expensive side, but quality food. The service was great as well! The menu isn’t the biggest, but most of their items are meant to be eaten with beer. Lots of choices of beer and food to pair it with.
