I tried the lunch buffet here some time ago and it was nothing special, so I thought the food from the menu would be the same. Fast forward to today, my wife had a craving for some good Indian food so she suggested we order from here due to the excellent reviews on Google and it is close to where we live. I was quite skeptical due to the mediocre buffet experience, but She kept insisting, so not wanting to be on her bad side, I reluctantly ordered. Boy was I in for an extremely pleasant surprise, the food was ready on time, the portions were huge, and the food was all amazingly, fantastically delicious!!!ð???ð???ð???ð??ð??ð??. We had the Chicken biryani and Tandoori Chicken, both extremely delicious. They have three spice levels: mild, medium, and hot. We got the hot, which was spicy but all flavors were balanced so it was a good hot, just right ð???. I am from India and quite a foodie, in my opinion the food here is comparable to what I have tasted in some of the best restaurants over there! Don’t judge the restaurant by it’s lunch buffet, order from the menuð??ð??ð??ð??ð??ð??ð???, you will also be pleasantly amazed.

Hyderabadi Foodie Adda – Indian Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 1280 28th St SE, Grand Rapids

My friend Mason A and I met up for lunch at Hyderabadi Foodie Adda to try their buffet. It’s available every day they’re open until 2:30 or 3 pm depending on the day. We got there right when they opened at 11:30 and everything on the buffet looked great. All of the dishes were labeled, which was really nice. I didn’t know what everything was but you can easily Google things with the names right there. I tried a bit of a bunch of different items, including chili chicken, kadai chicken, dal, veg biryani, masala fries, goat biryani, and mirchi ka salan. The buffet also had several different chutneys, naan, white rice, a couple dessert items, and two specialty drinks (rose milk and something else that was red and sweet). There were a few dishes that were empty and not being used so maybe they offer more dishes later in the day — I was hoping to see some fish, paneer, or lamb dishes. Everything I tried was delicious! The flavors were subtle but with a little heat. I think the heat level might be a little much for people not used to spicy food but it was pleasant for me. Definitely not super hot but if you don’t like spicy food I might inquire about heat levels on the buffet. My favorites were the chili chicken, which was breaded chicken in a chili sauce, and the kadai chicken, which was tender chunks of chicken thighs in a rich sauce. The naan was light and warm and perfect for eating with the dal. It didn’t seem like they were serving any dishes off the menu during the buffet, but I’m not sure on that. There is a cooler with soft drinks and mango lassi, rose milk, and some other drinks. Mason and I both got a mando lassi to go which was sweet and delicious with great mango flavor. There are water pitchers on each table with glasses which is convenient. I was happy that we were able to check out this new family owned business and try some delicious food that I’d never had before! I’ll definitely be back for the buffet again.

Nawab Grill & Restaurant – Pakistan & Indian Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 11277 Reading Rd, Cincinnati

Limited Options but great taste This used to be a Mexican Restaurant right next to Brijmohan, was surprised to see an Indian/Pakistani restaurant here. Decided to give it a shot for lunch. Tried the buffet on a Friday afternoon. There were 2 non-veg appetizers, 2 veg curries, 2 non-veg curries, Chicken Biryani, White Rice and Naan. The food was very tasty, chicken was very tender and well cooked, Naan was fresh and fluffy. Biryani had the right amount of spice and the curries tasted good too. One of the chicken curries was little watery but the taste was ok. Chicken Tandoori was very well spiced and cooked although it could have used a little more salt. Overall the food was delicious and we were satisfied with the experience. The have special buffet on weekends with options like Halwa Puri, Beef Nihari and Goat Paya on the menu. Will definitely come back to try it sometimes. Had a nice chat with the owner, he is new to Cincinnati area, owned a restaurant in New York, originally from Lahore, Pakistan. Since they were not too busy, the cook stepped outside frequently to ask customers for their feedback on the food. The service was good. The overall cleanliness and ambience could use a little improvement to make it more welcoming. I’m hoping they will improve as they become popular. 4 stars for now. Will update after my next visit.

Biryani Hub – Menu with Prices – 5745 E Virginia Beach Blvd, Norfolk

I had to-go from here, then was finally able to visit this place, since some of the fervor has died down. I went for lunch with some co-workers, including one who is native to Indian food. We arrived and were sat quickly. There was room temp water corked on the table, poured it ourselves into the glasses. There are only 2 things on lunch menu: meat plate or veg plate. The plates are a selection of dishes which include biryani, 2 “curries,” a fried “appetizer,” naan, and dessert. You can choose your protein: chicken, goat, or shrimp. Also you can choose spice level. They have a spice level below mild called American mild (lol). Both plates come out on a sectioned tray, like cafeteria food. Evidently the dishes rotate, but you only have lunch choice of meat or veg plate. I wanted to get meat plate with veg biryani, but you aren’t allowed to do that. I didn’t like my naan, it was too heavy on the garlic. You can see the big pieces on the bread in the pic. The fried meat was good, but I put the pieces in the curry sauce. There were some onions in it too, but they tasted burnt and were yucky. The dessert was a bread pudding I didn’t care for. The 2 curries were both pretty good, but each had only 2 pieces of meat in them. It was much better once I pushed some of the biryani into the sauce. The biryani was good, but a little plain. My friend got veg and it looked really good, that’s why I wanted it! There was a chicken leg under the rice pile, which I gave to my friend. It was too much food once I got to it. Total was 2 good, 2 ok, and 2 yuck. The person who got veg was happiest, I will try this next time. My indian friend didn’t finish her food, she said there wasn’t enough complexity to the spices in the curries. This place is worth a try for a decently priced platter of food, sometimes a surprise is good. Esp if you like Indian food in general. But, if you want more authentic try nearby Nawab, you can get dinner entrees at lunch, if you don’t want buffet. Dishes made one at a time are always going to be better than mass prepped food.

Bengal Bar & Grill – Menu with Prices – 3685 Preston Rd STE # 167, Frisco

I would rank Bengal Bar and Grill 2.5 – 3 stars. 2 would be too low. 3 might be too high. Having said that I went here because I saw they had close to 20 reviews and had a 4.0 rating. During lunch they offer Buffet. The Buffet is a bit overpriced for the selection they offer. There were not that many guests there to begin with, and that’s always a frightening thing at a place that offers a buffet. The number of items they offer were also limited and they were out of items like tandoori chicken and fish curry that we had to ask a couple of times before we got them. The chicken biryani has large pieces of potatoes in it. The first time I only got a piece of potato instead of chicken by accident. The dessert is not even worth trying, as I had both the gulab jamun and carrot halva. Carrot Halva tasted bad and did not have the right consistency to it. Gulab Jamun looked way too dark after you bit into it than any other I have ever had before. Bottom line is I would not be going back here again. There are just too many other good options out there.

Thai Express – Menu with Prices – 4693 Gardens Park Blvd Suite 113, Orlando

I was in the area and stopped by to try this place out because again, I love Thai food and my go to place is closed for summer vacay. You order at the counter and then pick up at the counter. There’s plenty of places to sit. They have daily specials for $6.68 and each day has a different special. Because they just opened, they are offering punch cards and giving out flyers with coupons on it as well. The menu is pretty decent and a big selection. There a lot of favorite Thai dishes I saw, such as Pad Thai, Fried Rice, and Drunken Noodles. The spice levels are mild, medium, spicy, and very spicy. I opted for the Chicken Red Curry and an Imperial Roll (spring roll). The imperial roll was crispy but it felt like there was mush on the inside. Minimal taste. I have mixed feelings about the Red Curry. The taste of the curry sauce was good and the level of spice (I went for medium) was perfect. But the quality seemed lackluster. The chicken was a weird, dark color and the taste/texture seemed off for chicken. I’m also not a fan of bamboo shoots since they have a weird taste. The chicken/mystery meat just really threw me off. I would probably just order veggie only dishes next time. I wanted to like this place and may be willing to give it another try but I think there are better Thai places in town with comparable prices and way better food quality.

Biryani & Co. – Menu with Prices – 9406 S Texas 6, Houston

Best Indian food we’ve had in Alief! Came here for a family dinner last night, and was truly impressed with each dish- and we ordered A LOT. Every item was flavorful, memorable, and different. You could tell the chef knew what they were doing because there was something unique about each bite. If you don’t want to read the whole review here is what you need to know- Great service, incredible food, high quality ingredients. Just thinking about this meal from last night is making me hungry! The food is authentic and spicy, so if that’s not your thing be sure to order mild- for us we love spicy! We ordered spicy appetizers; Cut Mirichi and Guntur Mirapakodi. The Guntur Mirapakodi was the table’s favorite dish of the night! Just the right amount of heat! Loaded with tumeric. We loved it! I don’t think I’ve ever seen this dish at another restaurant. I will definitely be coming back for this. Delicious! For our main dishes we got Veg Chettinad, Gutti Vankaya Curry, Chicken Tikka Masala. Veg Chittinad was a mixed vegetable dish in a coconut milk curry. Gutti Vankaya Curry is sesame and peanut based paste with eggplant. It was nutty and savory. I’ve had this at other restaurants, but this was the best version I’ve had. You could taste the individual elements and as they came together to make a whole bite. Definitely recommend. Chicken Tikka Masala is always a crowd pleaser. We got this one mild, and it balanced out the heat from some of the other dishes. The chicken was incredibly tender, white meat chicken. Great dish! Of course Biryani & Co has several different types of biryani. We got the Vijayawada Special Boneless Chicken Biryani which was fantastic. Probably one of the best Biryanis I’ve had my entire life. Lots of fragrance in the dish and the meat was super tender. Lastly, we got the weekend special, Raju Gari Goat Pulav. In reading about the dish on the menu, I was worried it was going to be too similar to goat biryani, but it was totally different. Glad we got it because none of us had ever tried this anywhere else. Goat was perfectly cooked and the spice was perfect. Oh and the garlic naan was cooked to perfection! Super fresh and perfect for getting every last drop of curry or sauce off the plate. We even tried some dessert. A pineapple Double Ka Meetha. A little something sweet after all that spice was perfect. Truly a fantastic meal! We will 100% be going back. Hopefully VERY soon!

Mehfil Indian – Pakistani Cuisine – Menu with Prices – 10700 N Rodney Parham Rd Suite B6, Little Rock

While not familiar with Pakistani food, my husband & I had heard great things about Mehfil & couldn’t wait to try it. We went for a Saturday lunch buffet & loved it. At this point, I don’t know enough to accurately name & describe all that we tried, with a few exceptions. The naan bread is so good but the garlic naan–WOW! It’s delicious and next time, we’ll get that first. The foods on the buffet were all hot and there were so many choices. My favorites were the Tandoori chicken and the Tiki Masala w/ chicken; husband’s fav was the Chili chicken. Both types of rice on the buffet were tasty as were many of the other dishes. So glad we tried this restaurant and look forward to returning.

Mayuri Indian Grill Menu with Prices 5354 McGinnis Ferry Rd # 226 A, Alpharetta

HOW YOU FEELIN? HOT, HOT, HOT!! HOW YOU FEELIN? HOT, HOT, HOT!! This food was so hot that had it been an actual temperature, I would have 3rd degree burns. We ordered several items including, two types of chicken, (65 and butter), fried rice, noodles, mango lassi, garlic and regular naan. I couldn’t believe that all of the main dishes were so hot that the heat upstaged the flavor of the dishes. Everything was very spicy and I only managed to eat a few pieces of the bread. My savory appetite was destroyed but I did manage to drink the mango lassi which was rich and soothing but a bit too sweet. I did not allow this experience to totally darken my view of this restaurant because you can’t get upset with an Indian restaurant for being Indian. I should have held the spice or I think that I will go in for the buffet which should be more balanced. Just be aware of the spice levels and order accordingly. My husband enjoyed it all and did not feel that the spice interfered with his enjoyment of any of the dishes but we have very different tolerance levels when it comes to spice. Also, ordering on line does not work and we had to call in our order but the food was hot and ready in a short period of time. ***Proceed with caution Grasshopper!

Himalayan House Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 201 Broadway #102, Chula Vista

I’m so happy this restaurant popped up in the South Bay. Loving the food here! 1 star = for the hearty lentil soup packed full of flavor but might make you feeling half full before you get the food you actually pay for! 2 stars = the deep fried vegetable samosa. Wow! It’s full of tender curried potato and it comes with this amazing tamarind chutney I have never had before and I absolutely loved it! 3 stars = for the attentive service. I dropped my towel and they gave me a new one, food came out quick and piping hot. 4 stars = spice levels. Yasssss! I’m glad they offer only 3 levels to decrease any unnecessary confusion and indecisiveness. Medium is the best for me. Not too mild and not burning hot but spicy enough to suck air in your mouth to cool your tongue and still taste all the flavors. 5 stars = for my most favorite dish: Chicken Korma. I love chicken curry. The hubs enjoyed the Tikka Masala and the brother in law enjoyed the lamb vindaloo. We loved every dish and shared them all so we can benefit. Garlic naan was perfectly thin, warm and garlicky enough for me to love. My daughter loved it too. Can’t wait to go back!

Riverdale indian cuisine – Menu with Prices – 308 W 231st St, The Bronx

We ordered 3 lunch specials. Chicken biryani , chicken tandoori and chicken tikka massala. Both chicken platters were well seasoned. The chicken tandoori was the show plate. Sizzling hot plate 2 portions of chicken on a bed of onions and sweet green peppers; for sure wort ordering. The tandori chicken was moust and very succult and the bed of onions and peppers was a nice touch. 2nd best was the chicken tikka massala, the sauce was creamy. Nice seasoning not overpowering but you can still taste cumin, coriander and the garan masala. So while the sauce was on point, your lunch portion will be about 4 to 5 ounce container with lots of sauce and just 4 pieces of chicken. No way you call that a lunch. I get it, making indian food is expensive due to the high cost of the spices. However, they could charge a bit more and give you more chicken. This portion was ridiculously small, plus i was still hungry in the end. If anything this portion should be for an appetizer instead of a main course meal. The disappointment came about when we saw the chicken biryani. No raisins or any kind of fruit at all. Usually the chicken is cooked in the rice but this one the rice was made separate and the chicken was poured on top, the rice lacked flavor and depth. I felt like i should have just order white rice with a side of curry chicken. I do like the fact that you can bring your own wine and they do have nice glassware for the wine and water service; that is a plus for sure. Personally, i can appreciate that. The place was clean, decor was not intrusive and best of all the smell of the kitchen stayed in the kitchen. Sometimes you go have indian food and you cone out smelling like curry..lol The naan was tasty and made to order but could have benefited from a brushing of butter. However it was tasty, soft and we had a good portion order for the table of 3 ppl. They do have home made mango chutney $4 extra and well worth it.

India’s Clay Oven – Menu with Prices – 228 W Hospitality Ln, San Bernardino

Came for the lunch buffet, where you are seated right away. The gentlemen greets you and seats you with a cup for the drink options and your choice of garlic or regular naan bread. Bread comes out shortly while you are able to grab a plate and start serving yourself at buffet. There are names above the options or food, however they aren’t descriptive so you may need to google. Many vegetarian options and also meat options for meat eaters. Options for food include curry tiki masala, chicken house curry, tandoori chicken, lentils, veggie korma, just to name a few! Seating is so spacious, options for booths or tables available. Ambiance is quiet and relaxing, music feels like a yoga studio. Definitely a mellow setting, it’s nice for a lunch date. There is a bar here and it looks like there are a variety of drinks to choose from if you did decide you wanted a drink! Deserts are minimal but defiantly everything you need if you want something sweet like Julab jamon or carrot pudding. Or something basic and refreshing like fresh cut fruit. I did read lunch buffet was less spicy so we are excited To try the dinner where some foods will have more spice to them since we love that Chile! Street view it is next to soup plantation and subway, off hospitality lane. Parking didn’t seem to crazy even during lunch on a rainy day. Overall, we are pleased with the service and food quality. Not to mention the price is amazing!!! We will definitely be back for the dinner options.

London Curry House Menu with Prices 4906 Brenman Park Dr, Alexandria

We came across London Curry House because we saw a sign outside of the little neighborhood where it sits while we were on our way to get oil change in Alexandria. After our oil change, we decided to check it out! The place opens at 12 pm on Sundays and we were a bit early so we grabbed some cappuccinos at the coffee shop across the street. We came back at noon on the dot to the restaurant and it was funny because I literally thought I’m that crazy doorbuster person during Black Friday sales lol! We were the first customer in the restaurant and I love that! The aroma of the place smelled so good as they had just laid out their food for the lunch buffet and the kitchen has some type of an open kitchen layout which I actually like. The place has an amazing decor, very stylish and modern but at the same time very cultured and authentic. It’s got some cute decor such as the London red phone booths (they don’t open btw so don’t try lol) and the little sign that says the restaurant name on a sign that is commonly found in the London tube stations! I love those London touches, it reminded me of my time in London! I ordered an Aperol spritz (of course duh) and it was yummy! The server was super nice and he was so helpful. The service here is just amazing. He spoke to us for a little bit asking us if we are familiar with Indian food and we told him about our experience of Indian food in London and we had a great conversation with him! We did walk into the place in our workout outfits so he thought we were there for the lunch buffet! I don’t blame him, we were underdressed lol. We decided not to do the lunch buffet because buffets are just not my thing. I have been meaning to try chicken biryani cooked in a pot with the dough on the top so I looked on the menu and unfortunately, it wasn’t there. However they had the Goat Dum Biryani. I don’t really like goat for one personal reason (I watched my pet billy goat die in front of my young eyes when I was growing up in the Philippines so I can’t eat goat forever), so I asked the server if I can get the dum biryani in chicken and he said YES! I was so excited to finally try the biryani cooked with the dough on top! My chicken biryani came in this cute bowl covered in dough and it was steaming out and the dough was baked to the golden perfection it was! I was drooling at this point! My bf always copies me so he got the goat biryani one. The other server opened up the dough to release the smoke and the biryani inside and I legit died inside. I died in Indian food heaven. It was so amazing to just witness the server cut open the biryani, like that’s so freaking cool! The biryani itself was so yummy and the flavor was amazing! The chicken was tender and the spice was not overwhelming. I also ate the dough on top of it and it was crispy and it was like a thin baked naan! My bf enjoyed the food so much he finished the whole bowl of his goat biryani! The bowl is definitely good for 2 people and we ordered 2 so we had leftovers! We definitely loved this gem that we found! I’m never really a fan of Indian food because I always find that the spices are too overwhelming for my palette (except when we were in London, UK when I had the best Indian food in my life) but this place is certainly comparable to the Indian food in London! We will come back here again and take friends and family with us for sure. We are already planning on renting out the large room that can fit up to 25 people for a birthday party! One thing I also love is that not everyone in the table has to do the buffet so if you want a regular item from the regular menu, you can do that. And whoever is with you that want to do buffet, they can do buffet as well! Service was great and there was no issue with parking spaces!
