Having moved to TN, we were in CO to see family. We have found very few places in TN that have good food and we were eager to have green chili. The menu here surprised me as it was much larger than I expected upon entering. The food was delicious, an understatement for sure. Our server was very friendly and good at the job. Although I’ll be happy to get back to TN, I’ll often wish I could be eating at Los Gordos. It’s not a chain restaurant and the pride the owner has in this place is demonstrated by the food and the people who work there.

Olive Branch Mediterranean Foods – Menu with Prices – 3992 Ringgold Rd #103, Chattanooga

When I was a young girl, eating out was a treat reserved for special occasions. Chain restaurants were not a novelty or a dime a dozen, so we ceremoniously piled into the station wagon and drove to a family run restaurant where they knew everyone’s name, asked about your relatives and you felt you were eating as a guest in their home. The food was not complicated, but it was always delicious, hearty, made with love and pride. The moment I entered the Olive Branch, I felt the warmth and love of a childhood memory. Truly a family run business, they take time to greet you and get to know you (if you allow). Try the Incredible Greek salad – always fresh, generous and delicious with amazing dressing. If you’re a meat lover, top it with gyro meat and prepare to relish every bite. The Greek lemon chicken with potatoes — oompah! The hummus and tabouli are the stuff of … legendary satiation. And for the ultimate experience, squeeze a Greek pastry into your happy mouth as a last indulgence. Do yourself a culinary favor and visit this very special place.

Tazza Restaurant – Menu with Prices – 510 Church St, Nashville

Okay so it started off a little weird. 1. The server was kind of rude sitting us. He told us how he was going to take our orders and we had to follow specific direction. 2. Our appetizer came out first but then our food came out 10 seconds after. 3. Food wasn’t too bad. It was hot and worth the 4. We had to ask him for our check almost 8 TIMES. We about walked out. 5. He made us get up from our table to come pay at his computer and then asked us to tell him what our order was. 6. He paid no attention to us at all during our meal. And he was THE ONLY SERVER IN THE WHOLE RESTAURANT. We understand he was busy. My girlfriend and i both work in the food business so we understand that he had other tables and was struggling but if you can’t handle all of your tables then don’t take all of them. We came from out of town for pride and dropped about $30 on dinner. The food was worth the $30 but the service wasn’t. We tipped 6 cents for the poor service

Miss Donuts – Menu with Prices – 658 W Holt Blvd # A, Ontario

Well I just came from Miss Doughnut’s and after a very one star experience with a well known chain that just opened up in Upland yesterday, I have to say the local Miss Doughnuts gets 5 stars. There jelly doughnut, which was the last one of the day, was filled with oozing raspberry and fresh and light. Then I made myself a sampler plate of Chocolate..Coconut..Apple-fritter and glaze and was extremely satisfied. I didnt catch his name, but I believe he was the owner who was very friendly and thanks for the free maple bar. The story is, we should all purchase from our local business owner, rather than a chain..thus putting more tax dollars into our city, and not lining the pockets of chain stores. Oh yes and the prices are excellent!

Garozzo’s Overland Park – Menu with Prices – 9950 College Blvd, Overland Park

Small chain in Kansas City area from what I understand. I went because I love Italian and it was near my hotel while I was in town for work. The experience is that of almost a corporate restaurant chain, but still has some quaintness to it. I came in late in the evening so I opted to sit at a table in the bar so the staff could set the rest of the restaurant and not worry about me. There were still plenty of folks in the bar area at that time. The bartender came over and helped me pick out something local on draft, then I asked him to help me pick out an entree. Well. This is where the magic happened. He gave me a quick tour of the menu and told me most people’s favorites and his personal favorites… The Spiedini is apparently one of the things they’re known for but he told me his favorite was Chicken Vincenzo. So I ordered that on a whim. Holy. Moses. Chicken Vincenzo is insane. It’s got this heat, this sweet, this creaminess, this crunch. It’s truly one of the top dishes I’ve had in any Italian restaurant. It’s indulgent and rich and I only had half of it, but it was wicked good. I highly recommend it. When I’m back for work again I WILL GO BACK.

Side Street Grill – Menu with Prices – 31 Florence St, Memphis

Being my very first time here at Side Street Cafe. I was impressed with the food and my server. I ordered the shrimp Alfredo and cheese Sticks & they were to die for. It was a very busy night being it was Halloween Weekend. I have had a hard time getting a table due to the Halloween festivities & the kitchen was about to close. My server was able to get my order in & that made me very happy that she made it happen instead of some servers saying sorry the kitchen is closed. My food came out piping hot from the appetizers and main dish. The chef took pride in preping my meal at the last minute. Unlike half the chefs when it comes to closing time doesn’t. They’ll just slap it together to where it’s only half way decient. Here at Side Street. Homie Don’t Play That. I just want to shout out my server (who’ll be my top reason for coming back next to the food) & Chef. thank you very much

Rob’s Wicked Chicken & Wedges – Menu with Prices – 466 Horton St E, London

Had to charge my car and found this place by accident. What an amazing discovery. As you may have read in some of my previous reviews, I have a soft spot for family run businesses and this is no exception. Rob and his wife and son were all so accommodating and kind. You can fee the love in their food. This used to be a Mary Browns but have left the chain to go off in their own to perfect fried chicken. And perfect they did. Had the Big Wicked sandwich. And wow is it ever wickedly awesome. The fries were amazing. Hand chopped and fried. So so fresh. Had the Macaroni salad too. Wow. You can taste the freshness. Sat there feeling so content and the owner was sitting with his family at the next table eating the same chicken. I was so impressed that their own family (including the mother in law) all sat there eating the same food we were eating. We started chatting in friendly talk and told him how much we loved the food. You can tell Rob takes great pride in his product so he got up and said “wait here a few minutes”. He comes back with some fresh fried chicken hand battered for us on the spot. Oh my gosh was it so good. The middle of the breast was moist and flavourful. Bathed in his signature “wicked sauce” that was literally “finger licking great!” He is such a nice man and a warm family. I noticed he greeted everyone personally and thanked them for coming. Customer service: 5/5 Experience: 5/5 Quality: 5:5 Will I repeat? Absolutely Do I recommend: Absolutely If you are ever in the London area stop here to try their fried chicken. Was the best fried chicken I have ever eaten in my life. No joke.

The Choppin’ Block – Menu with Prices – 2212 Madison St, Clarksville

We were visiting from out of town and had a waiter recommend this place. It was 15 minutes out of our way, but we drove to pick up a couple of steaks any way because of all the great reviews. When we walked in the service was phenomenal and the associate was very helpful. She wrapped up 2 dry aged filets for us, and we were on our way. When we got to the register the young woman let us know that it was a possibility that the credit card machine may not work and that we may have to go to the ATM to get cash. I told her that we would be happy to do that if the owner would take care of the ATM surcharge. The associate called the owner, and the owner said absolutely NOT. My experience with this establishment was not with the associates, but with the owner. The credit card machine was down and obviously that was my fault and not the owners. In my opinion, as a business owner myself, I would rather break even and keep my customer happy vs pissing off a customer. I’m sure this is not normal, but in this case I would have done anything to keep a customer happy. I will slaughter and dry age my own cow before I ever enter this establishment again. Thanks a lot to the terrible business owner!!!

Fiesta Margarita – Menu with Prices – 179 Mall Cir Dr, Murfreesboro

I have been coming to this restaurant for about 3 years now. Now thereâ??s a new owner. Yesterday I called first to see what time they close and I was told 10 and it says 10 on there website. I get there and Iâ??m told they close at 9. So I tried to rush and get my order in they were closing in a few minutes. When I got my food out; my queso dip was cold. And my food order came out wrong. It wasnâ??t what I ordered at all and had bacon on it and I donâ??t eat pork. I tried to send it back and my server let me know that the owner said. I can either eat it or leave. I worked in the restaurant business for 7 years and Iâ??ve never heard of that. Whenever we close, we take care of the last customers until they are done. We just canâ??t let anyone else inside. But youâ??re never rude to the customer and say either eat it or leave. The table next to me, all white people, let me add. They got everything they ordered and as they denied me all I wanted them to do was fix my order because I didnâ??t eat pork or ask for pork, but the table of white people ask for more things after they closed and got everything they asked from the owner. She was nice to them but mean to me and my sister, we are black. It seemed like she stereotyped us. I do work in the tv industry and my sister is a nurse and we always tip good. Donâ??t go here. The new owners suck.

Moxie Java – Orchard Park – Menu with Prices – 7A Brendan Way, Greenville

Really smooth rich coffee. Got a double espresso shot iced chai, really hit the spot. My wife got an espresso borgia and froyo (location is also a TCBY). Owner really takes pride in her business and is a really kind person. She helped an elderly couple download an app to keep track on their rewards points, great personality! Happy place definitely worth the stop!

Brasserie Circa – Menu with Prices – 4420 Forsyth Rd, Macon

I have been looking forward to coming to this restaurant for some time and on yesterday I celebrated by sisters birthday with her. I was running a little later than the party and when I arrived everyone else had already ordered, which is understandable! The server brought me a menu and I ordered within 10 minutes of me sitting down. Well he brought out everyone else food and 2 people sent their food back because their items weren’t cooked well done. This is where the problem started….the server brought my sisters steak back after she had sent it back…everyone’s eating and I’m still waiting, I had a steak no issue until the server came out and said he gave my steak to my sister and her steak was still cooking and if I could take hers…. she had the NY Sirloin & I had a Ribeye…she had cut into hers before she sent it back and was eating mine when he came back to tell us! I was livid! I am a manager of a eatery and I understand customer service…he never apologized for his mix up! I didn’t want to mess up my sisters birthday dinner so I went along with this foolishness! He then brought our tickets out and had added the gratuity as if he had given great service and he didn’t . Other people at the table had to continuous ask for items they had ordered. The food was decent however the customer service by this one male server was tragic!

1839 Taphouse – Menu with Prices – 212 E Green Meadows Rd #2, Columbia

Several points to make about this pub. 1. The food is great. It’s bar food, so don’t expect high class dining. But the Portions are great, and what I got to eat was fresh and delicious. The price was very reasonable as well. My drink was well made. The cooks/bartender are the ones who saved this review. 2The atmosphere was alright. It was much smaller than what I expected, but still roomy. Music was a bit loud, but I didn’t mind. Games were playing on tv. 3. My service was absolutely TERRIBLE. I went on a Tuesday, so it was not packed. I saw several empty tables when I first arrived. I was asked what I wanted to drink and the server left for about 10 minutes. We had to ask for a menu, waited another 5 minutes for that. I sincerely felt like the server was annoyed with my simple requests. Food was brought out in a timely manner (I give credit to a great cook staff). My food was wrong, though, not what I ordered. I accepted it anyway and just gave it to some friends. We waited over an hour for our check, and had to physically flag down our server because she was talking to the over servers at the other end of the room. We were not checked on at all after we got our food. This server did not take pride in her work. I usually leave large tips, but this server was the first in a while that did not deserve one (I still tipped though). Overall I had a decent time, and probably will return because I enjoyed the food I ordered. Will have to try the nachos. I sincerely hope I do not get the same server, though.
