OK, I’m shamelessly writing this review before I can honestly report on my full experience. My review is based on a catering event, not the bistro restaurant ,but I have every intention of going to Tapia’s, after which I will update my experience. Michael and family provided an amazing four course meal in conjunction with a Telaya wine club member event. It was truly gourmet! More positive reviews later, you can be sure. ?

The Santaluz Club – Menu with Prices – 8170 Caminito Santaluz E, San Diego

I feel incredibly lucky to live in such an amazing community, and be a member of the fabulous Santaluz Club. The food at the club is truly delicious and interesting, and the menu is always changing. The staff couldnâ??t be better. Attentive, kind, and thoughtful are the words that come to mind. So many activities to choose from….beyond fine dining, they have cooking lessons, literary luncheons, wine enrichment programs, live music once a week, special wine dinners, weekly wine tastings, and special dinners and brunches for all the holidays. There is something fun for all, regardless if you are 5 or 55!

New York Butcher Shoppe Menu with Prices 465 Highland Ave, Augusta

First I have to send a giant thank you to one of our Yelp community members (Ron F.) for telling me for months that I needed to make it out to the monthly wine pairing hosted here. I finally took his advice and I have no regrets from the evening. For anyone local, it can be found in the middle section of the Surrey Center, all the way at the far left end, across from Finch & Fifth. So parking and shops to check out are a plenty. The wine pairing event is after hours (7 pm) so you have the place to yourself and it is only $20 a person (as a guest). Now let me go ahead and mention that if you become a monthly member ($40) it includes this wine pairing event as well as a selected bottle of white and a bottle of red wine. Plus 10% off wine purchases. That pays for itself. Back to this event. You walk in and a Greeter is being served. Pace yourself here. There will be two small plates, a main entree, and a dessert served. All of these will be paired with a different wine. And don’t worry about your glass going empty. Their pours are heavy and the team is walking around with the bottle, making sure no glass goes dry. Separately, the dishes and wines were amazing. The pasta, meat, and baking skills were top notch. Everything was plated beautifully as well. The wines each had their own personality and made me mad at myself for not being a member. But the two of them together, pure joy to the palette. A bold Cab with a dense chocolate cake, that is a capstone pairing if I’ve ever seen one. I will point out that this is a deli by day. That means there are meats, side dishes, tomato pies, of course bottles of wine, and much more available for purchase. That also means there is very little seating. So plan to stand for the entire event (about two hours in all). But due to the nature of the group there and the curiosity to see everything there, you probably won’t even care about standing (especially around that third or fourth wine pairing). I am in love with this place and look forward to returning soon (aka, next month). Attend this event, go grab lunch one day, and stop by if you are needing a quality yet affordable bottle of wine.

Bradenton Shuffleboard Club – Menu with Prices – 1525 Ballard Park Dr, Bradenton

Amazing place! I say this not just because the courts are meticulously maintained, parking is plentiful, and the facilities are top-notch … what makes this place amazing are the Club members. They are friendly, knowledgeable, welcoming, and incredibly helpful when it comes to sharing about the sport. Privileged to consider myself a member of this club!

Bay Colony Beach Club – Menu with Prices – 8553 Bay Colony Dr, Naples

I have dined at the beach club a few times, and I find the food to be boring, although I do like the chicken fingers. The interior is nice, but not over the top trendy or anything of the sort. It has a very “country club” feel to it. The outdoor bar/patio area is welcoming with ample seating and a pool that always seems to be teeming with children. So you can eat lunch and watch the children play on their rafts/noodles. The standout of the Beach Club is their exemplary service. While on the beach in front of the club, they cater to your every whim. The service staff set up chairs, umbrellas, bring you towels, and bring food and drinks from the restaurant. Today I saw one of the staff members bring a cup of ice water with lemon to an older woman who was just walking along the beach. It didn’t seem as though she was a member of the club, but they brought her water nonetheless. I love how they go above and beyond for everyone. If you are a member or know a member here, consider yourself very lucky!

Sonoma County Farm Bureau – Menu with Prices – 3589 Westwind Blvd, Santa Rosa

The best crab feed in the US!!! I’ve had this event on my bucket list and I finally had an opportunity to attend. It did not disappoint. The event starts in the hall of flowers with 2 hours of food, wine and beer tasting along with a silent auction and live music. Next comes the main event…the amazing crab feed dinner. I would recommend reserving a table of 10 as it is a fantastic experience. It may be a bit pricey but well worth the splurge. I am already looking forward to next year’s event.

Urban Wines and Spirits – Menu with Prices – 45 1st Avenue, New York

This place is amazing; I felt I really needed to write a review. I’m sooooo impressed by the guys working there!!! BEST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!!!! Today, I ordered a cheap bottle of vodka and a cheap box of wine for a little event I’m having. Instead, they called saying they didn’t have the wine in stock. Rather than spoiling the event, they instead upgraded my vodka, gave me a selection of 1,5L wines and a T-shirt. I am blown away!!! From now on, I’ll never go anywhere else…. even if it’s inconvenient!! Also, I must say, I have never waited more than 15 minutes to have my booze delivered using their app. I swear, it’s like they teleport. It has such a chill atmosphere and the guys are super knowledgeable and authentically kind. They legitimately just want to expose customers to new things and truly love learning about and discussing wine. Their passion and love for what they do, elevates alcohol consumption to an fun educational experience. Really excellent quality at a range of prices. Though I was first intimidated to go into a boutique looking wine shop, it turns out, the shady liquor store with bulletproof glass one block away and it is somehow WAY more expensive.

Mr. Sugar Rush – Menu with Prices – 1408 N Riverfront Blvd suite 271, Dallas

I cannot say enough good things about Mr. Sugar Rush! Their staff was friendly and amazing and so easy to work with! They came out to our fundraising event when I called them last minute due to a different truck no-showing for our event day of. Mr. Sugar Rush absolutely saved the day! All of our guests at the Heard Museum were so excited to have sweet treats provided out of Mr. Sugar Rush?s adorable LED lit truck, and were saying many positive things about the quality of the ice cream and snow cones. The coconut snow cone I had was DELICIOUS. We will definitely be booking them again, and I hope you book them too!

The Club, Inc Menu with Prices 1 Robert S Smith Dr, Birmingham

This was my 2nd trip to the view, but my first since becoming a Yelper and a member of The Club. Since it was so long ago, I will review from my most recent and memorable trip. With all of my family in town for various reasons, we decided to go ahead and celebrate my grandfather’s 90th birthday. After finding out our dining options were limited (The Signature is closed on Saturday nights… or at least this one in particular), we decided The View would be a nice option. The service was exceptional. Even though membership is still very recent, that is something that is pretty standard throughout the entire club. They hire amazing staff and train them well. Our table was ready when we got there and the amazing breads were brought quickly. A variety of options were selected around the table and I heard zero complaints from a family that would let you know if something wasn’t good. I opted for the beef tenderloin. It was cooked to my rare liking and the potatoes and vegetables it came with were also cooked to my liking. The beef itself was extremely tender and flavorful. Which I don’t always find with tenderloin. Only a couple of people got dessert and I tasted one bite. Absolutely fantastic. There were a couple of hiccups. The ramp for my grandparents are on the very far side of the restaurant. And the coffee I ordered came out ice cold. But that was remedied quickly. And those minor things couldn’t take away from the overall experience. Which was great.

North End Social Club – Menu with Prices – 3013 6th Ave C, Tacoma

The first time I went to North End Social Club happened to be during a fundraiser event — Pints for Pets! I’m a wee bit dog obsessed, so the fact that they were hosting an animal charity organization earned the North End Social Club 3 stars right off the bat. The other two stars were earned via their vast drink menu + impeccable service. The place is small but cozy. On this particular night it was PACKED (for the event) but I hear it’s usually pretty chill. There were 15 or so (rotating) beers on tap, plenty of white and red wine options, and a cider or two. I don’t care who you are — you will find something to drink on the menu. And even if you are so insanely picky you cannot, there is a cooler along the back wall with additional drink options. The service was great here! Despite the noise and large crowd, the two women manning the bar were friendly and quick. They provided some great drink recommendations too! North End Social Club doesn’t serve food but there are small bar snacks available (nuts and shtuff). I hear they do special food events here and there — pizza, oysters, tamales… but if nothing else, they let you bring in outside food! So feel free to bring in whatever food you feel pairs best with your choice of alcohol. Lastly — I read they do a weekly ‘Wednesday Wine Night’ which makes my heart flutter. Word on the street is that it includes free cheese and charcuterie! Say whaaaaa? This place is awesome. So glad it got initiated into the 6th ave gang.

Port Gardner Bay Winery – Menu with Prices – 3006 Rucker Ave, Everett

I had an excellent experience at the PGB Winery. My boyfriend and I stumbled upon this place thanks to Yelp. I have nothing but good things to say about both the service and the wine. For starters, everyone there was very friendly. It felt like a family inviting us to share their delicious wine. The wine kept coming with the tasting, and the company was just as great. I personally think the atmosphere of a place helps to define their repuation, and this place is probably one of the best places I have been since moving to the West Coast. Second, the wine. Every single wine we tried was absolutely delicious. It was very hard to only choose 2 bottles to take home with us. We did a red wine flight where we were able to choose 6 out of about ~10 reds to try. Don’t worry, they have whites as well, we just were in a red mood. Every wine we tried was very good. How anyone could have rated this bad, I don’t know. The wine was great, and everyone we encountered knew their stuff, which was nice never having WA wine before. There was cheese/salami/crackers served with the wine, which I didn’t touch very much because I was so focused on the wine, but it was nice that they had something to go along with while you drink. Honestly, the wine may speak volumes for itself, but the people made it that much better. They welcomed us and made our first experience exploring Everett and the WA wine world even better than we had expected. We will be back here, no questions about that! A precious gem in the heart of Everett!

Monopole Wine LLC – Menu with Prices – 21 S El Molino Ave, Pasadena

The nice thing about Yelp is that it truly does give a good indication of an establishment (in most cases). However, if a business gets ahead of it and aims to inflate their Yelp reviews, it can lead others to a disappointing experience. Monopole clearly did this when they first opened by encouraging Yelp check ins and reviews (through offering check in deals such as a free glass of wine). However, upon my recent visit, I did not notice anything spectacular that other (older) reviews discuss. As such, this might be the most truthful and current review of Monopole Wine on Yelp. I just don’t understand the other raving reviews here. We came on a Saturday night and the crowd was average/light. We sat at the bar and it was a man and woman working, but clearly paying more attention to the frequent customers. The options were not what I expected, so I ordered a glass of red wine (without being offered to taste it at a wine bar), while my wife had the flight. As my wife went through the flight, no descriptions were given and it was a “here you go” with each pour. Pours were small and I noticed that clearly if you know the owners you get preferable treatment. For example, the people next to us were offered tastes of each wine before they picked what they were gong to have a glass of. I have been wine tasting quite a bit over the past 15 years, and this was pretty much on the low end of the wine tasting experience. In wine tasting, it is the service and the wine together that make the experience great. Monopole did not really offer either. I was hoping to drink something and buy a bottle after reading all the Yelp reviews, but unfortunately I left disappointed. The last item to note is that we were overcharged by $15. Luckily I was conscious enough to say something for them to correct it. Yes, this may have been an honest mistake, but if they had been paying more attention to us it clearly would not have been made. I don’t think I’ll be back. Too bad.

Dano?s Lakeside Pub Menu with Prices 4856 Coleman Dr, Akron

Mine will be the contrarian review. A Facebook friend posted he ate lunch here the other day. So, despite some of the Yelp reviews, I trusted Mike’s appetite and taste. We visited that evening for dinner. Once we discovered Howie’s, tucked back in a residential neighborhood, we parked in the gravel parking lot and made our way down the steps to the patio. There were several open picnic tables and we chose one closest to the water. There was an interesting mix of guests. Quite a few people had arrived via boat. Our waitress came over and greeted us and was genuinely excited it was our first time visiting Howie’s. She explained the menu and specials. She returned with our drinks and took our order. The patio was about 75% full and there were a number of people inside. I was expecting a longer wait for our food, but we were pleasantly surprised how quickly our order came out. We shared a salad and a couple tacos. We thought everything was really good. Even the wine we had was good and this doesn’t look like a fine wine type of place. I remembered a review mentioning the loaded sauerkraut balls, so we finished our meal with an appetizer. They were awesome! We’ll be back. It was a very positive experience.
